Jason is a true master of his craft, bringing intelligence, creative insight, and remarkable integrity to every aspect of his work. He generously put up with my highly analytic and data driven approach to the install plan, sourced our Tesla batteries and panels at far, far below market value (beating out numerous competitors by a truly considerable margin), refused to charge more than his quote even when unexpected costs arose, and offered transparent, excellent planning and communication every step of the way. Jason and his installation team produced an aesthetically clean, 20 panel array befitting our historic home, integrated our new array with our existing one in a difficult and customized way requiring thousands of feet of wiring/conduit, and achieved a commercial grade, quality install of 2 Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries that have now fully liberated us from PG&E grid dependence. As Jason himself predicted, in just 2.5 weeks, our new system has exported 700 kwh to the grid, and imported 0 kwh. We are now fully in control of our power, and no longer at the mercy of PG&E, now, or in the future. Financially, this is utterly lifechanging for our family. So, for anyone considering Sunrun, or other companies, do not move forward until you have given Jason Batman and Power Pro's Electric and Solar a chance first. One thing that stood out immediately was that their pricing was highly competitive with the other companies I considered. While pricing was important, what really set SunMade apart was that they hold both solar and roofing licenses. This gave me additional confidence because I previously had a bad experience with another solar company that damaged my roof, failed to fix the problem, and later went out of business, leaving me to pay for the repairs myself. Our sales representative, Jon Bernal, was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. There was one item that the system designer later clarified, and although it wasn't a major issue, Jon personally reached out to notify me of the changes. That level of integrity and accountability meant a lot to me and demonstrated that he genuinely cares about his customers. The installation crew was professional, arrived on time, kept the work area clean, and communicated well throughout the process. After installation, I noticed a section of concrete that had become uneven due to settling. I contacted SunMade, and they returned within days to correct the issue and followed up to ensure everything was satisfactory. That kind of customer service is becoming increasingly rare. The entire process moved efficiently. Our first meeting with Jon was on March 28, we signed on March 30, the system was installed on April 27, the meter collar was installed on May 13, and we received Permission to Operate about a week later. Jon also helped us identify and secure available rebates. I would also like to thank Tara in the office. When I needed copies of my contract documents, she provided them promptly and without hesitation. Another positive observation is that the owner, Oz, appears to be actively involved with the company and personally responds to customer reviews. I noticed this during my initial research and felt it reflected a company that values customer feedback and satisfaction. But between the time the inverters went out and when it got replaced, my panels were not producing electricity, which caused my annual True Up to be over $700 instead of under $100! Anyway, make sure you read your solar contract carefully because the things they tell you when trying to earn your business IS NOT TRUE, even if it's in the contract. For example, in my contract, it states that installer will monitor the performance of my system and if there is a shortfall of the wattage promised (something they called guaranteed performance), the install shall pay for the difference. All a LIE! When I pointed this out to Matt, and ask him to help me pay for the bill since the system he installed did not delivered the promised wattage stated on the contract, he told me that I should be monitoring my system and that he would not help. He referred me to Solar Edge, saying it's not his fault that the inverters went out and that I need to talk to Solar Edge. I spoke to Solar Edge and they told me to talk to the installer. Bunch of BS! No one will take responsibility and I, the customer, has to bite the bullet and pay for this huge bill? I honestly don't get it...if you're not going to do it, DON'T PUT IT IN YOUR CONTRACT! Going with this solar company may have been my worse mistake thus far. After paying $30 something thousands for this system, I expect to get what I paid for. Is that so much to ask?

Our experience with SIG has been unacceptable…read more After installation and payment, SIG solar became largely unreachable. We have made multiple phone calls over the years needing assistance with system issues and were constantly told someone would call us back. Those calls rarely happened, to the point that my husband drove 40 miles to their office just to speak to someone in person - with no resolution. Because SIG solar failed to provide support, WE had to contact the inverter manufacturer, twice in the past few years to get the system functioning, something the installer should have handled. When we just recently realized that we needed our roof replaced, SIG solar charged us $8000.00 to remove and reinstall the panels. We had to pay it because we did not want to do anything to jeopardize our warranty, effectively forcing us into this expense. This company appears focused on sales, not long-term service. For a major investment like solar, this level of non-responsiveness and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Experiences like this are why homeowners rely on consumer protection and contractor oversight agencies.
