My wallet was stolen, and so we needed to have our house locks re-keyed. We first called a locksmith service we found through Google, and it was a total scam. He wanted to replace all three locks (to the tune of $560), and then when we asked the price for re-keying, he quoted us $360. Fortunately, we didn't take the bait, and instead found Lior, at Astro Locksmith. He is completely transparent about his pricing, and he is honest. He returned my call promptly, and made arrangements to meet me at my house later the same day. He re-keyed the three locks for a total of $136. In addition to re-keying the three locks, he fixed one of them because it was sticky, and wasn't closing easily -- for no extra charge. I highly recommend Astro Locksmith. My dumb ass locked me and my girlfriend out of our apartment well after hours, and I called Astro, they had a really cheap flat rate and they sent over Max, the friendliest and best/quickest working locksmith ever and he really got us out of a jam!! So fast convenient and friendly, I would rec them to anyone in a heart beat PS: I called RF locks first (just because of google) and they were friendly at first but the guy absolutely demanded cash and when i told him i didnt have any (but i had card and check), he got kind of rude and said he didnt want checks for such a small amnt of money. I contacted Astro Locksmith and Supply to re-key about 10 existing locks and to add 4-5 deadbolts. It was very easy and quick to set up a walk through to estimate the job, and Lior fixed a minor lock issue for my tenant at no charge before I committed to any work with him. Last month the lock on our door at our condo was jammed, luckily it was in the unlocked position so we could get in/out, but problem was, once out, we couldn't lock it! I searched Yelp for the nearest/most reliable and found Astro. Gave them a call, Lior answered and was very nice on the phone, said he was just 15 minutes away and wrapping up another job, and he came right away with his assistant. They were friendly, got the lock fixed, and even helped fix one of our closet doors that was having issues closing and shutting tightly. max was a totally awesome locksmith- arrived in 15 minutes, super friendly and very good at what he does- had us in our apartment in no time. the first company we called (rf locks i believe) was super rude and refused to take any other payments aside from cash, and when we said we'd look elsewhere he aggressively told us "good luck." we're glad we settled on astro instead for sure. hopefully you won't need to use a locksmith at all, but if you do, astro is the way to go. Lior was able to come within two hours of calling to rekey seven locks on our outside doors and provide eight new keys. He was efficient, explained what he was doing, lubricated some older locks so they worked better, and did an excellent overall job.
