Great place to skate They have lessons also. Love this place. They need to do adult skate and keep rink open later on weekends.

The music is way too loud. You have to yell to be heard. The birthday party is crammed with others. The party cost is expensive for what you get. Too many rules to go, and they don't tell you them till you get there. We had a hostess for the birthday party, whom I only saw once the entire time. She was of no help. It is so crowded for the birthday that you are sitting on top of each other. Don't book a birthday party here. read more

Music from my teen days and roller skating actually turned out to be loads of fun! We were here for a private event (wedding!!) on Sunday night. Bummer was that being at the end of the day, it was a mess. The staff was cleaning the whole time (I felt bad for them), but it just wasn't a pretty sight. The place has potential to be such a hit, but it needs a serious makeover. Bathrooms are pretty rough, and the carpet has clearly seen better days. I fully saw a massive adult rat scurry from around the DJ booth and into the (at the moment) open pink door to the back kitchen of the snack bar when I was here Saturday night. That was something I'll never forget. Particularly because I'd just spent $7 on two pieces of pizza about 20 minutes prior. Additionally, I have a hard time imagining the last time the carpets were thoroughly cleaned. All in all, Astro Skate could use a refresh and facelift to return it to the amazingly fun skating rink of my youth. read more

The skating ring type is a great concept for kids, teens and even adults. Tampa needs more "things" and "areas" for teens to hang out safety. AstroSkate buses are very nice colored and designed for marketing and attracting children's eyes. Parking is well spaced out. Indoor space is GREAT! Love the color and design but can use a new update as of designs, more glow in the dark colors and of course more deep cleaning. Bathrooms and food court can use an upgrade! They should eliminate The bouncy house area as well as the basketball area and just leave it strictly for skating! Roller skates need a deep cleaning as well as an upgrade. All the laces need to be changed. Kids waste more time trying to put the skates on and trying to put the laces through. They should have a system... *Payment which include different options as well as prices: *Entrances and skates *Entrances and bring your own skates *Entrances, skates and the trainer They do have a concession stand. Lines are always packed... the employees working are working in a slow motion pace. The prices... for kids and students are a lot. On the other hand... For school and students there should be packages which could also break it down and see what includes and doesn't include. Maybe for a little more include a slice of pizza and soft drink. Have a better/quicker system for students to enjoy their time instead of long lines. I understand the employees are young and they get an opportunity but they need to be trained for better customer service and interpersonal skills. I had the worst experience one of the employees grabbed my son's trainer that someone had given to him and he kept harassing my son. He took it two different times from him saying that he needed an orange wrist band my son was so scared the white blonde hair worker waitied until I wasn't looking to snatch my sons trainer Why would I pay for a wristband when somebody literally gave it to him because they was leaving. I'm a mother of six kids a single mother at that and he literally harassing my six-year-old son for a trainer like it's no way and he thought it was funny. I even talked to the manager. They didn't do nothing about it. I literally feel like it was being racist towards me and my family. My whole day was ruined. I ended up leaving.. I will write a review everyday until this is resolved $35 waisted. I called the next day Katlin the manger was so rude and I'm professional. It needs to be change in management and staff. read more

TERRIBLE service, RUDE employee. No sign indicating that you cant leave property and come back yet lady at the front refused to let me back in over a milkshake i finished BEFORE i went in and insisted on me paying an admission fee again. But let in THREE other people with BAGS of food with absolutely zero trouble. Also they tried to make me take off MY OWN skates when leaving. Ending up wasting my money and time, never again. Do not come here the music is astronomically loud, food is overpriced and terrible, they have rapid flashing lights and give ZERO warning. They have NO signs showing that they have these rules or warnings as you leave and give no trigger warnings, for all they know i could epilepsy and could've died. I ordered a popcorn in a soda and the first batch came out fine spent about six dollars or the popcorn and a soda and after I pay, the girl tells me they don't have ice in the soda comes out flat. I tell them I don't want soda without ice and it's coming out flat and they said we don't give refunds and then they give me another soda that's flat without ice the lady with the tattoos and red hair Did not handle the situation well. A decent affordable place to skate. $6 per person plus $4 for rentals and $1 Sunday's from 3-5. They regularly have cool events even over night events to drop the kiddos off. The music is typical and on point with a live DJ for requests. The floor is decent sized BUT no surrounding wall so for little kids or those who can't skate very well and need something to hold on to you will have to get one of the PVC walkers and that will cost ya $5. Don't lose sight of it! Those moms love to steal them for their kids, like strollers at Disney Skate options are standard, speed, in-line, and trainers Food - actually pretty decent. The pizza price is a little steep but unlike most rinks they make theirs from scratch and made as ordered for a whole pie. A whole pepperoni with 8 large slices will set you back $17 for $20 you can get the pie and a pitcher of soda I didn't notice if they had beer or not but definitely checking that out next time. Astro Skate is iconic, magnificent, a complete gem. It's just the owners haven't cared for the building at all since maybe 2001? It is still as fun as ever, I love the music they play, everything is colorful, it's a giant indoor skating room with plenty of space for eating and celebrating and laughing. These are all wonderful things, and I have to imagine they are making decent enough money to pay for things like, oh I don't know spackle? It's a little jarring how unkempt the building is. Even the soap dispensers in the restroom were broken and lidless. I am crossing my fingers they spend a little TLC to rehab the space because I think Astro Skate deserves another couple of decades of fans. I also think it's worth mentioning that we were there for a private event and they didn't DJ the skatefloor at all. I remember back in my youthful years the DJ made the experience 100000000x better. So I would hope that they would go back to that. read more

I came here this weekend for a birthday party with my son and we had a great time! They were organized with announcing when things were happening and had different activities to do for the kids. They had the hokey pokey in the middle, sing happy birthday for the kids in the middle of the skate rink, limbo, dance party in a separate room, inflatable for the kids to bounce on and some of the staff was dressed in super hero outfits. We also got a free skate pass for next time we come back. They have skates to rent and also helpers for kids just learning how to skate. The food is very reasonable for $2 & $3 for drinks $6 pitchers of soda, Slushies, slice of pizza for $3, 5 wings for $5 and a couple more items. Signs around the place had different deals like every Wednesday teachers and up to 4 get in free. Saturday's are family night for up to 5 people to skate for $20 from 6:30-8:30 read more

It's a fine skating rink. Parts of it show the wear of a place that's been hosting hundreds of people every week for a long time. The skating surface was great and the rental skates worked fine. I had such a great time here! We came for Sunday afternoon skate which is ONLY ONE DOLLAR from 3-5. The skate rentals are 3-4 dollars depending on if you want to upgrade to a speed or online skate. Definitely worth the extra dollar to upgrade. It was very busy when we came. I liked how they had different activities like dancing, racing, couples skate, backwards skate, lights off skate, and adults only skate. The atmosphere was fun and the music was loud and a good selection of songs. We even completed the experience by trying food from the concession stand and we were amazed at how good the pizza was! It was divine! The funnel cake fries weren't anything to write home about but that pizza hit the spot. I want to come back for another skate session! read more

The only complaint I have is the Management! Jennifer is the worst she is rude and should not be working with customers. She did not have on any ASTRO Skate clothing nor a name tag. I feel as though she is racist. Because another customers told us they brought a cake in without booking a party and had no issues at all. By the way we did try to book a party for that day and was told that they were booked up for parties but when we got there there we're no parties going on.I don't know if she was just having a bad day or what. I asked some questions about why can't they cut a cake and she yelled and carried on then called the police. A matter that could have been handled by a manager in their right mind. I LOVE THIS PLACE! My kid's school used to do skate parties after school a few times a year and all the kids loved it! This is the 1st place my kid's ever skated. They would've never tried it if it weren't for the school trips. I haven't skated since I was in my teens but I was a very avid skater. Thanks to astro skate I'm now skating again and I enjoy it so much. I didn't realize how much I missed it! I seriously get nostalgic over this skating rink because it brings back so many great memories from my youth. Anytime we've gone here we have a wonderful experience. They are always doing fun different things to keep everyone entertained and involved. I love the dollar skate on Sunday and all the other themed skates they do. I went in and asked the lady inside what's going on and she replied that it was a last minute field trip from the near by school.. I'm sorry but school field trips take a moment to schedule (permission, slips, filled out money to be collected). I asked why they didn't update their online calendar, and she replied well you can always call to make sure.. smh what's the point for an online calendar if you don't keep it up to date. Getting our old school on! This is my 5 year old's first time, and the PVC rolling "trainers" are helping a lot. There is also a small wood floored practice room - nice idea. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT & CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I attended Saturday morning open skate with my children. (I followed their policy on purchasing the walker for my 3 year old after lessons.) As I watched both skate on the rink at different speeds I noticed my 3 year old daughter sitting off the side of the rink alone without her walker. She is not able to skate without it. The young man who was working the rink had taken it from her and was walking about 5 feet away from her. I was furious. I rushed to my daughter who was alone, scared and crying from him taking her walker. I couldn't hold back. I asked to speak to his manager and when she came over she had no clue who paid etc and confirmed they will take them!!! I couldn't believe it. All staff had horrible attitudes as well. This was the WORST roller skating rink I have ever been to. Number one, people DID NOT wear masks during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. EMPLOYEES were not wearing masks correctly. Employees were rude as hell and have a dress code ? This place is misogynist and racist, not allowing freedom of expression. They forced me to wear and pay for a T-shirt because my crop top was too exposing. I am 21 years old and this was absolutely demeaning towards my friends and I. The fact this establishment even operates on these terms and conditions is disgusting. The workers are also literal children and have no respect for the customers. That's all I have to say. Not a fan. Entry at the front was smooth with a pretty long line, it moved pretty quick. It's not meant for anyone who isn't a great skater. Beginners wouldn't like it on 18 and up night. Only about 20ft of entire rink has walls on just one end. 18 and up Wednesday has speed skaters purposely zooming in and out. I have been to adult skate at other locations and was able to enjoy it without speed skaters being rude and some wall to help if needed. Older teen squeezing between slow skaters so close they brush on you and zoom by. Groups of people sitting on the actual rink floor all over walls that lead to the rink and nobody monitoring. If you're a great skater then no issue but average or hair below average, I don't recommend. I had to take my skates back after getting one all the way one then realizing the other shoelace was so frayed I couldn't get it thru the hole to tie it. Music was good at least while I sat and watched everyone. Concession was a joke. I ordered a large coke and she pours me straight from the machine, a room temp coke. I asked where was the ice and she said she was out of ice. This was right when adult skate opened, not the end of the night either. I told her, if you had no ice why wouldn't you tell me that when I orders. She seemed dumbfounded I didn't want room temp coke. I asked if she can please check if they have ice somewhere and she went around back and within 2 mins I heard her filling up the ice bucket. My boys were dying to try out their in lines thst they got for their bday. Due to it being Father's day, both of the tampa skating rinks were closed until 4. I ended up finding this place which is only 13 miles from my house. This is so much better and bigger than the one that we are used to. My boys had a blast and we will definitely be back. read more

I took my kids skating, the youngest 2 need racks, which I paid for, we all needed rentals. There were no racks, it was about half an hour before I could get one and an hour before I could get the other. By the time I got a rack for my kid, it was dance time. Then it was couples skate. Then it was backwards skate. We sat down in some of the limited seating to get a drink, it cost $2.50 for a small icee. Nothing to hold onto while skating if you don't have the rack. It would probably be ok to take teens here but I'll probably make the drive to Tampa next time we go skating. read more

It was very entertaining especially for the kids. I don't know if this is typical but when I went there there was more for the kids to do than just roller skate such as dances, face painting and limbo. Overall it was a good experience that I would definitely do again. read more

I GAVE IT ONE STAR BECAUSE I COULDN'T GIVE IT ZERO. My six year old daughter wanted to try roller skating on a Friday night. I thought it'd be fun to take her to the Pinellas Park location to learn. We paid the entry fee (where I explained she was just learning), got skates and "skated" in the practice room for all of five minutes before being kicked out of the room. I was told it was "teen night" and the room was closed because it was "too dangerous" because there were advanced skaters in the regular rink. Disappointed, I approached the front desk to see why I paid admission for a child who was not allowed to skate. I was met with what could only be described as careless indifference. I was told my daughter, who was learning for the first time, could skate with the advanced skaters. This makes no sense. The practice room was closed putting novice skaters in the advanced ring? Showed up on Thursday afternoon at 3 pm and their office is open but the actual skating rink was closed to the public all day long. This place is always dirty, rental skates suck. We have been served pizza with melted plastic on the bottom 2 different times. Bathrooms make you wish there was a portapotty. They bring out a creepy panda bear that smells gross and looks filthy. Feel really sorry for the employee who has to put that on. Arcade games are always broken. This place is a rundown piece of crap but it's the only place to bring the kids to skate. The only people that seem to care are the 3 instructors that do lessons Saturday mornings. I attended a birthday pretty here and had a blast. To begin with, we rented those purple busses, and as such, arrived "in style." The bus drivers were super friendly and kick started the party mood! Once we got there, skate rental went smoothly, especially considering the size of our group. The skating rink was big enough for us and for the kids already there. The music was awesome as well. Woo hoo! One of the runners in one of my many run groups is also a Roller Derby Queen. So, a bunch of us went to support and have a little fun in a different environment., Yep, we discovered the Deadly Rival Roller Derby! Our girl was a member of The Cat O' StrophiX When you go into something like that, you leave yourself open and embrace the experience! No surprise, with that attitude, about 12 of us had a fun time. Some of us were old school so we knew the rules. We found out our runner could skate big time! We also witnessed one broken leg and a skater pass out after she looked at a finger which was extended in the "wrong position!" FYI, there is a snack bar with soda, hot dogs, and popcorn! Overall, The Cat O' StrophiX won, we had too much fun, and will return very soon for another match! Oh, I scored a Cat O' StrophiX tee which had the best logo on it ever! ;-P read more

Came here today with my husband and two boys. We had a blast! My boys didn't want to leave. It was their first time skating. We came last night not realizing it was teen night and they said we couldn't rent the trainers that they have. The lady told us on Saturday's they have "tot time", which we left after about 10 mins of being there because it was impossible to skate with all the kids going by so fast. So we asked if we could get our money back so we could come on a day for smaller kids, the lady was super sweet and refunded our money so we could come today! Definitely will return! :) read more

when i was little our elementary schools would take us here for field trips and it was always the best time, i decided to come back after a few years just to see if it was as fun! admissions price was reasonable. the lady giving out skates was very rushed even though they had just opened and i was the only one in line, after struggling to lace up skates that had frayed ends that would not go in the eyelets, i went back to switch the skate out. she did not give me another pair even though i asked about 3 times and she would just sit there trying to push it through with no success and then handed them back and said they should be fine. i eventually just gave up and skated with my skates half laced up since she was of no help. the interior looks the exact same as it did in 2010! it definitely needs a makeover it looks very outdated and the staff are teenagers who look dead inside and like they hate their job.. would still come back since there's no other close skating rinks read more
