So we have had issues with our home phone ( landline ) for about a year. I really didn't care about fixing it since most of the calls we get are sales, scams, political or charity all wanting money. It wasn't until it started effecting the WiFi that I cared. I finally called and talked to a guy named Dan. I could tell Dan was sorta a computer geek. He was talking to me about ports, overlapping signals etc... He actually seemed knowable and trustworthy. We have been getting mailers about AT&T doing "Free" upgrades to fiber optics. So decided to up grade which is supposed to get us a better router, multiple signals and faster uploads. Appointment set for a few days after the call between noon and 4 to get it all set up. Supposed to take up to 4 hours. Two days later: Got the call from the tech about 1:05pm he was on his way. About an hour after the tech showed up I got another visitor. A young man who said he was my consultant. So he came in and we set up the Smart Home Manager app. Then he wanted to talk to me about our cellphones. I told him the companies we were with and that we were happy with them. He mentioned free phones and a $$gift card. I said nope wont be changing cell phone carriers. I didn't tell him but I don't believe in giving one company all my business. If that one company has issues then you are screwed. And my WiFi in my car is AT&T and it constantly drops my signal. Right at 4 hours later the tech was done and everything seems to be working. With new technology I didn't have to reset passwords on every item that was connected. That was great. He left behind the old battery backup for the broadband phone. He had to come back in and take photos of the new outlet and I asked him about it. He said it was costing the company too much to dispose of them so they just leave them behind. Im hoping I can at least take the battery someplace to be recycled. So far so good. Terrible. I called to cancel my service and the representative (Ashley) tried at least 5 different times to sell me other services or alternate services. I was like um, I'm calling to cancel my internet because it's so bad where I live. They don't offer Fiber where I am located (Sobro area). I explained it's been spotty ever since I got it. Finally, I was told I'd have an email with further instruction on equipment return (modem and power cord) within 24 hours. I'm not certain that I'll receive it, but we shall see. This is the biggest POS WiFi system I have ever had. A hampster on a wheel could do a better job. It goes out a minimum of 10 times a day which I then have to reset it. I work from home, so I use my T-Mobile hotspot more than my AT&T Air. AT&T should actually be ashamed that they charge people $65/mo for this. If I could give a ZERO Star, I would. My ATT internet service was inconsistent until it quit forever. They told me they were not going to replace the faulty cable and I would have to find a different service. Of course, they continued to charge my account even though I was not getting service. Getting them to correct the billing errors is like trying to herd cats. Either your phone call gets cut off or the promised credit doesn't occur. ATT management has NO RESPECT for the customers. Not recommended. read more

For years we have been with ATT Fiber internet and zero problems. The last month has been hell. Rebooting the modem at least once a day. Telephone support just keeps cycling back to the top menu, no way get to tech support. Their online chat does the same. If not fixed shortly will go to another vendor. read more

AT&T Internet Air for Business- Buyer Beware I purchased this product with the understanding that I have 30 days to return it if not satisfied. I gave a deposit of $102.25. I tried the product and was not satisfied with this performance. I informed AT&T and returned the product within the allotted time. AT&T gave me a return approval, UPS gave me an equipment return with receipt. AT&T assured me that I my deposit would be refunded, and I would not be charged for usage. I fact my deposit has not been refunded, and I have been for usage. AT&T said they need a tracking number. UPS says that there is no tracking number and the equipment return receipt should suffice. In any case, on being charged 111.92 for product that I don't even have. I have had to spend another $25 to stop autopay. Bottom line, low quality product , and they won't give you your money back if you send it back. read more

ATT and Direct TV is the worst value for money, they are in a money grab from day 1. I wanted to watch my alumni team got the forced new equipment and appliances from Direct TV never could get it to work and they charged me 200 dollars for early cancellation after never using their product, this is a close D- in service e to the ATT D service that I have dealt w/ for over 2 decades. working on how to change my numbers and get away from them for ever. I was transferred from my utility company to save money to a high pressure sales person who pressured me into signing up for AT&T internet that I didn't want. After being pressured and being stressed out over many hardships I gave all my personal info just got him off the phone. I should have hung up. I felt scammed and stressed I gave a stranger all my identifiable info. I called a number on an email and cancelled immediately but the email wasn't from AT&T it looked fake. I called AT&T directly the following day. It was canceled but then that agent tried to high pressure me into signing back up. I will never use AT&T services as a result. Horrible experience. After 4 hours over 3 days in the Rice Lake AT&T store, the price of a cell phone and service jumped another $50 per month from what we initially discussed. We were never given a print out of the cost, were told that we had to use their router for the phone instead of the router that we have at home and told that the teacher discount is no longer available (yes, it was). After 3 consecutive days in the store, the sales guy still didn't know who we were each time we walked in! But the worst customer service is when he shouted, to us and everyone else who walked in the, "Wha-da-ya want?' in a gruff voice. He was VERY under-trained to work with the public and unprofessional. This is about the poor service. That ATT gove to customers who call in. The reps have no idea. What they're doing don't understand. Half the time what the customer is saying. Really irritates me having to ask for someone. That speaks English to try. Get the issue resolved ATT hires anyone. They'll transfer me to the wrong department. Or they'll hang up on you all together. To get off the phone with you. They're also known to lie about what they document. In your account with them. You need to record the call. Have proof of what they tell you. So when they don't do it. You'll have proof they said they would. Makes me cringe thinking about calling them tomorrow. I wouldn't recommend anyone desl with them. With what I've have to deal with with them. They're at a zero with customer service. Heck I've thought about putting in an application. You don't have to do nothing answer the phone. AT&T Internet service review. Scheduled an appointment for internet service. Found the rate did not include streaming which we currently have. Would pay higher overall if we switched. Called to cancel the appointment. All service reps were polite, however no portion of this call have I felt the request has been properly OR more importantly, efficiently handled. 45 minutes later, I am typing this review as I get transferred again, now to the Loyalty Department, my 4th transfer. Complete disregard of time like this, I will not consider AT&T for internet again. read more

The AT&T Website advertises its Internet/TV offering with the following statement: "Your service is billed in advance each month. Your first bill includes a charge for the next month of service. Your first bill may include charges for installation, equipment, or other non-recurring costs." I had been an AT&T customer for a few years, and paid my bill on time, always. In February of 2023 I was notified that my Bill would increase from $88/Month to $100.15/Month. Since I did not watch AT&T TV (it says 100 channels of which 85 or so are useless to me vending channels) I decided that $100.15 for Internet service is too high and cancelled AT&T Service on March 1st. My last payment to AT&T was $88.08, sent on Feb 13, received on Feb 14th, as per customer service representative. On March 24, 2023 AT&T sent me a bill of -49.06 cents, which indicates that AT&T would send me a check for that amount, namely for service paid but not received. That is ok. Instead, on or about March 28th I get another bill for $100.15 (or so) and I called AT&T for their error. The customer service representative agreed and gave me a Customer Acknowledgement number so I could tell the bank to revert the automatic transfer. That happened and my payment in error was reversed. Now I get a "final" bill for $51.09 for service from February 14 to February 28th. The customer service representative insists that the bill was for the period of January 14 (or so) to February 14th, "As stated on the bill". However, no place on the bill is there any statement about the period being covered (see attachment), so I must believe the statement on AT&T's website, above. In other words, not only does AT&T charge above competitive rates for Internet Service (bundling in a useless TV service), it also reneges on its official statement that services are charged in advance of a month. ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT CHOOSE AT&T AS YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER. They deserve 0 stars!! If you are looking for any type of customer service or have an issue, you will be given the run-around to have it resolved AFTER you have done all that you can to resolve the issue. I have POA for my father who is incapacitated right now and I needed to cancel all services. One CS rep said to email the POA paperwork in and they would help me. Then I had one convo with another CS rep where I was told POA does nothing and I can't cancel due to not having the Pin number. He was more worried about telling me he has done this for 20 years and the misinformation I was initially given was wrong and AT&T could be fined $200 and that person could lose their job. This was all my problem rather than helping me find a resolution. He told me to take paperwork to the AT&T store, I drove 30 min there to be told I can only cancel wireless services but not internet and home-phone. I then called again, only for the rep to tell me all services have been cancelled. So I had two 30min conversations, a 30min drive, only to have a 2min conversation today saying all services have been cancelled. I am so happy to announce that I have cancelled all my ATT services! About a year ago I returned a receiver that I no longer needed. This last week I noticed I was still be charged for it. I called ATT and asked to be refunded the money which came to $120, not much considering what I was paying for cable and my cell phone service. Well... the answer was no! They said they would give me back $30. When I asked to talk to a manager they said they would give me $60. I said no, I want to talk to a manager. The agent said no one was available but one would call me back. Guess what, no call. I called again and again they said a manager would call back in 45 minutes. Still no call back! So today I canceled both my ATT cable and transferred my cell phones to another carrier. So long ATT! Hope it was worth the $120! read more

I have been with AT&T for over 40 years; same phone number. A little more than a year ago, the ever-popular door to door sales people invaded our neighborhood trying to sell their new high speed internet. The concept intrigued me, since I had DSL. It was definitely slow. I decided to go for it, the price being about the same. However, AT&T insisted on running a credit check, even though I have been paying my bills on time with them for over 40 years. I had put a freeze on my credit, and could not find my pin#. So, I decided to kick the can down the road a little longer while I searched for the magic number that would thaw my credit report. All the while, AT&T had been raising my bill. Usually $3 every three months, for no improved service. I call that gouging. (Found out this is one of AT&T's techniques to get a customer to upgrade). I did finally find the info, but being the king of status quo and procrastination, I did nothing. Then a few weeks ago, a couple of young ladies, more door to door solicitors for AT&T, made their presence known on my front porch. Being now in possession of my Pin#, I decided to listen to their current offer. Fiber-optic internet and a land line would come to the grand total of $83. I was already paying $81, for the sub-standard DSL. I decided to go for it; step into the 21st century and all that. They installed it on Feb 3. Perhaps I will review the installation at another time. Then, I checked on line what my upcoming bill was. It was $93.52. Even though I signed a contract for $83.00 The rep who sold me the plan gave me her phone number. I have been calling to see if she can intervene. It goes straight to voice mail, and she is yet to return my calls. Ever try to deal with AT&T? I decided to try an on-line chat. I could tell by the occasional "interesting" grammar, that I was dealing with someone across the sea, whose grasp of English is probably better than my grasp of his language, even though his name was Tony. I said, " When two parties agree on a price, sign a contract, I expect that price to be honored." His response was, "I understand where you are coming from." It's as if he was in total agreement with me. Then he had to get a supervisor. There were three different names that came up at that point in successive order. Then the chat abruptly ended with no resolution. I mean, they didn't say good-bye, see you later, so long, hasta la vista, or anything.....it just ended. Somebody threw the switch to get out of that conversation. This was after an hour of "chatting." Being now retired, and on a fixed income, the extra $120 a year is noteworthy. But, it is more a matter of principle. Yes, I am still an idealist. I am considering filing complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, and perhaps the Indiana State Attorney General's office. I somehow think that AT&T would find a complaint with the Better Business Bureau amusing. But, I may anyway. The problem is AT&T is one of the only games in town. I already had a bad experience with Xfinity (Comcast). I did see that Verizon is going to offer internet service soon in Indianapolis. If I get burned on this deal, I suppose $120 won't break the bank. The fiber-optic internet will aid me in my search for another carrier at the end of a year. You can bet AT&T will hold me to every jot and tittle of the contract I signed, and ignore it on their end. I just find it abhorrent that a large tech company can make a deal and then disregard it with impunity, charging something other than the agreed upon price. I've been with AT&T fiber optics internet for 2 years now. I experienced a problem 1 evening with our devices connecting to our router but not the internet. I called customer support and they were very helpful,in walking me through checking on some things. Still no internet. We scheduled a tech out within a few days and he arrived on time!! Turns out, the modem had tried to update but got stuck. They replaced it and within minutes we were back up and running. Very pleased with customer service on phone and in person. Does not work around Geist-my internet drops during business meetings all of the time

My service had been disconnected remotely while I wasn't home. All of my accounts were logged out, and the AI troubleshooting app determined the problem wasn't with my hardware. I was connected via chat with Rebecca who told me that the best "fix" would be to upgrade me to Fiber. I told her that it would not work, as I had tried only eight months earlier to update fiber without success. She wanted me to give it a go anyway, and I informed her that since I work from home, I just needed my internet turned back on ASAP. Our chat spontaneously ended, likely because she knew that our conversation was going nowhere, and the following morning I called AT&T. The automated service made it impossible to navigate to a live tech rep, and instead kept shuttling me into the same automated tech support system I had chatted with the night before. After disconnecting and reconnecting to the AT&T number, I selected the "new service" prompt and got a live rep immediately. They were a nice person and transferred me directly to the tech support rep Shawn, who informed me that Rebecca was "just supposed to sell Fiber". This started making me feel like AT&T had discontinued my service intentionally so that they could pull a "miraculous" fix out of their hat by upgrading me to Fiber. I told him the same split about not being truly eligible for Fiber despite their records as my building is incapable of receiving it. Shawn told me that a tech would be out the next day and 'at least' fix my internet issue, and maybe 'hopefully' upgrade me to Fiber. The next day, my internet service had been remotely reconnected just ten minutes prior to my service window. This only serviced to confirm my woes that there was actually nothing really wrong with my internet at all, and just felt like a ploy to get me upgraded off of their copper wire service. Later, I was met by Emily at my home who wasn't even the service technician. She was trying to sell me a three year service contract bundle with Fiber and phone service. When I did not buy her phone plan that day, she proceeded to (attempt) sell her phone service to my neighbor so she could meet her quota, at least to my perception. When the service technician DID arrive, he was a very nice gentleman that told me a totally different story from what I had been accustomed to. It was actually possible to give me Fiber, and I realized that the engineer from eight months ago had been lying because it looks like a difficult job. So not only was I lied to in the past about being able to keep my previous AT&T Fiber 1000 mbs service, but that itself was a lie, and that I have been forced to live with 50 mbs service for eight months, working from home, only to find out now that it was possible all along. Additionally, the tactic of having my internet shut off without notice in order to "upgrade" me is despicable, and interferes with my profession. For what? An increase in revenue? This has been the worst experience that I have ever had. It is in fact though, the most enlightening one I've had however. If you like having difficult roads to valuable learning lessons, AT&T is the choice for you. If you like to have a steady, stable home/business experience, I'd shop elsewhere. read more

Have had their internet for 3 years now. 2 of which I have been working g from home. Never once had I come close to going over my data plan "never used more than 800 GB of the 1024 GB thats provided" the last 2 months my oldest child has been grounded so there has been no streaming from her. I also have been working back in office as well as a 2 week vacation. Now they are saying I jave used more than 1100 GB of data? When I ask for an explanation they are not able to provide anything. I was supposed to receive a service today, and they give a 12 hour window! 12 hours. 8 am to 8 pm. Fine. I make myself available the whole day. Didn't hear anything. I called them at 3 pm to verify someone is coming. The person says yup. Called again at 6 pm. Is someone coming? Yup. Called again at 7 pm. Is someone coming? Yup. Get finally to 8 pm. AT&T is pretty good at times. My family has Uverse internet and TV with them. While they are pretty good at keeping the internet up (a HUGE improvement from Xfinity who we subscribed to before) and they have a better deal on channels we want, their customer service department is desperately lacking. We've been with them a good six months at least and we are STILL fighting for the gift card we were supposedly getting for signing up when we did. Also, the installation was a huge hassle as the guy didn't seem to know what he was doing. I can excuse the guy because who knows, maybe he was new.. but to flat out LIE to potential customers to get them to subscribe? That is inexcusable. read more

I've been with AT&T UVerse for four years... here is my experience with them. - Setup and delivery was prompt and professional. - Cable TV service has always been reliable and available whenever I wanted it. - Internet service is very aggravating.... late at night it likes to crash every hour, on the hour. Rebooting my machine helps, but not always. Annoying! It can also become very slow without warning. Overall, a good service, but their ISP reliabilty is suspect IMO. read more

I was told because I have crack on the back of my phone I have to pay a deductible but my issue is not the cracked screen it's the sims card! I changed to ATT before the pandemic turned the world upside down. Their Internet speed made it all but impossible to work from home in March. I had to drive to a hot spot and sit in my car to complete work assignments. I spoke with their customer service, but that fell on deaf ears. Their customer service basically said that is your problem that the Internet speed you chose was too slow. It is the only speed they have available!!! I have since changed to Comcast and could not be happier. DO NOT choose ATT unless you want to be disappointed by the entire experience. read more

I have had At&t U-verse and internet service for over 10 years now. I just recently purchased a new home and had an appointment to change my service location for over a month now. My wife had used a vacation day to take the day off for the appointment and come to find out that At&t wasn't coming out to switch my service today. As I had called them to find out what the problem was, they had informed me that there was a schedule conflict on their end. I asked them why wasn't I notified about it. As I had talked to them on the phone, they had rescheduled for this Friday. I had left to goto work while my continued to talk to them with the new appointment. They had informed her that it wouldn't be for another 2 weeks before they could come out. Sad to say, I have cancelled At&t U-verse and as soon as my cell phone contracts are up, I will be cancelling At&t all together. I have had At&t cell phone for going on 20 years now. I had signed up with Xfinity and they are coming out Friday to install my new service. I am saving over $100 on the same cable and getting a faster internet service. DO NOT choose AT&T as your internet provider! I've had FOUR appointments with them to come out an upgrade my wifi and I've been stood up ALL four times! Even after talking to multiple supervisors on multiple days who all assured me someone would come out to install it. And who all gave different excuses as to why I was stood up. Uverse has gone out 3 times in the last month. Each time I or we as a family have waited over 3 hours for them to show up to fix their service. Right now it is past 1:00. Instead of doing family activities this morning, we waited patiently for them to show up during the given window of 8:30 to 12:30. No weekend brunch, no bike riding, just waiting around for the Uverse guy to show up. 5 hours later, still waiting! Uverse is a completely unreliable service. Can't wait to switch to something else. read more
