After trying to dissect our family cell phone plan at home, it was obvious to me that we were overpaying and had an outdated plan--and that as a registered nurse/first responder/union member we were eligible for multiple discounts-- if only the plan was in my name (as opposed to my husband's)-- after a debate w/ my husband plus hitting a brick wall in terms of my online research-- my husband prevailed and we decided to go in person to discuss our options with a human--it was a toss up between the park slope and sunset park store in terms of distance/parking-- but we are so fortunate to have somehow wound up at this location (I'm sure other locations are lovely as well-- but no experience at those :-))-- we had a general idea of discounts we thought I'd be eligible for-- but these guys found an even better discount than I had ever imagined--!! The process of transferring the numbers -- 4 total --into my name and out of my husbands was laborious and time consuming-- for them -- but the guys in the store smiled and never complained, just said they were happy to help-- we even left and went to a lovely bar next door with board games and snacks for the kids-- and they came to find us whenever we were needed for verification-- I can't remember the last time I had such an amazing customer service experience-- with any business -- large or small-- my only regret is that I didn't halt my own online research sooner and just go in and talk to these guys-- if you have att cell service -- or if you don't and are considering-- go in and talk to these guys-- you won't regret it! read more

David was so patient and helped me with so many options. He answered so many questions and helped me file an insurance claim for my smashed phone. Great service, and really nice guys, but Asi put a $15 per month insurance add-on onto my account (called "Protect Advantage for 1") without asking me. I wouldn't have even noticed except for the fact that I just happened to talk to my neighbor who has gone to this store before, and they did the same thing to her. She ended up paying for over a year before she realized. I'm sure Asi gets a bonus every time he signs someone up for one of these plans, so hard to blame him especially given how tough times have been recently. Still, I wish he woulda just told me he needed money instead of sneaking this onto my bill. People are really hurting right now, and that $15 could have gone to someone who really needed it. Now it's sitting in AT&T's bank account, and I feel taken advantage of. read more

I went in to inquire about an upgrade for my my daughter's phone and was told that there was a promotion available, but I would have to trade-in her old phone and pay a $200 repair for the cracked screen. We purchased the phone, but upon further investigation found out that that promotion did not require a trade-in at all. I returned and got the $200 back as well as the phone, but the salesman was rude to me on top of trying to scam me out of $200 and a phone. Be very careful if you choose this ATT Store. read more

I bought phones and a new plan here 3 years ago and I'm still having issues resolving so many problems that arose from dealing with how the rep in the store set us up and honestly lied about what was available to us as a deal. They told us we could get 2:1 on iphones. They told us we could get a company discount when I gave them my employee info. They told us we would get a discount on having paperless billing. They told us we would get a discount on an insurance plan that a special was being run on at the time. They didn't set any of this up and some of these promotions and features weren't even available when I talked to AT&T directly to try to resolve the issue. AT&T is still, 3 years later, sending us refunds to make up for the $1000 extra we we charged. I would have gone back to the store to complain and have them fix things but we moved out of the area. Totally incorrect info and sold us on things that weren't true. read more

Visited at lunch time on a weekday- Asi helped me upgrade my iPhone 8 Plus to an iPhone 12 Pro Max easily. He explained the repairs that my old phone needed because it had physical damage (screen cracked) and the mother board stopped working so it was useless to me. He was able to send it for repairs so that it had trade in value that could go toward my purchase of the new iPhone upgrade which was on promotion. I don't know anything about phones tbh but he made me feel confident that making this upgrade is worth it and affordable! I usually hate visiting mobile phone stores because it is confusing and has long waits. This visit was maybe 30 mins and he was super friendly, not condescending or dull like usual associates can be. Coming from a retail background myself it is nice to see when someone genuinely enjoys their job and forms relationships with customers! It did not feel transactional even when I was very close to reading in my phone at the location further up the street, which I had actually visited earlier that day I don't get new phones often but I would love to work with ASI again if I did need to. read more

I then called 3 local stores to see who had it in stock... the first two did not have it in stock but confirmed the information i'd gotten from my direct ATT phonecall. Then I called this place... the guy at this store gave me a bull**t story that things have changed and that I must buy phone at full price with installments and tried to convince me I would not be able to utilize the default ATT discount with 2year uppgrade plan here or anywhere else anymore, even when I told him that both other stores and ATT directly had confirmed were an option and even said was the way to go if i had 199 as i'd save $300... sleezy liar warning read more

Went to this location because the one up the street on Union was closed.. I was interested in getting a new iPhone and the guy working here spoke very quickly and had a phone out before I could even have a thought to myself. He then questioned why me and my husband weren't on a plan together, that it would be cheaper. I don't trust salesmen and told him I would look into it and decide later. He did the math for me and kept telling me "it's not that complicated" in a condescending tone. I told him I still wanted to think on it. He angrily says, "So I missed a sale by just trying to help you." Terrible customer service! read more

**NO STARS** The worker is very nasty and very condescending. I made a purchase and had to return it because it was defective. He blamed me after having it for 3 1/2 days when at&t and Samsung said it was defective. Gave me a refund after fighting with me to return it and at&t said he had to return it then I get charged for someone else's purchase almost 2 hours after I left the store so now I'm trying to get my money back again. BEWARE! Stay away from Cel-Tel at 228 7th Avenue, Park Slope. Asi, the sales rep, is a shyster. If you read this great review about Asi, he is a great salesman as long as you keep your phone. But, if you decide to return your phone within the 14 day period allowed by AT&T, Asi will be resistant, difficult, rude and downright unscrupulous. We returned phones and were OVERCHARGED an arbitrary restocking fee which exceeded what was allowed by AT&T. We contacted AT&T and found that after we left the store, he tried to charge us an early termination fee of $325.00 per phone. AT&T reversed all the charges and filed a complaint on him. Do yourself a favor and use the other AT&T store a block away. read more

Misleading, disrespectful smooth-talkers. I was talked into switching plans under the premise that my bill would drop from $204 per month to about $140 per month. I was repeatedly assured of this. When my ensuing bill wound up being $208 after I had sacrificed my unlimited data, I went back and complained. I was met with empty promises to get me discounts to make up for the "misunderstanding", only to be repeatedly ignored when I called to follow up. After three weeks of being avoided I went straight to AT&T and got them to reduce my bill by threatening to switch carriers. read more

Over the past few years I've bought 6 full priced phones here and believed they did have the customer in mind. Recently they recommended I buy a refurbished phone when adding a line for my son. When it stopped working they said it was dropped and of course a refurbished phone is more likely to break which they didn't tell me when trying to sell me on it. They refused to do anything for us and didn't even offer to repair for a fee, just said "can't do anything for you." Being a loyal customer means nothing to them I guess. read more

I generally don't like to put out nasty reviews, because it seems like bad karma, but I have had a series of really bad experiences here. I got a phone here, which stopped working spontaneously within a matter of weeks. They were nice about it and exchanged it for another of the same model, which I'll give them credit for, but then the second phone stopped working because it would no longer charge. So I went back again, exchanged it for a third phone, this time of a different model. Now, my third phone from them will no longer charge, so I have to get a new one. Again. Granted, they were nice about it every time I went back, and even acknowledged that they knew I had been back to exchange broken phones a bunch of times, but there's no way that I am going to go back there only to get a phone that's going to break in two months. read more
