This is a wrap up to previous posts on AT&T, Hadley, MA. Wish to commend the three men I've been conducting business with: Dakota, Armando, and the irrepressible, Jacob. These guys worked my issues like they trained for it their whole lives. Folks, with guys like this, our country will survive & continue prospering. Selection: Got the upgrade I needed - am 79 and am embracing the challenges of catching up with the young in technology. Good thing I am still trainable! Value: tough one/ been with AT&T since 92. I would much prefer going in, getting the gear, and walk out the door actually owning it, as opposed to the administrative monotony of this monthly billing scheme the company likes to run. I'm a retired soldier, so I have the liberty of calling things as they actually are- known in the trade as ' ground truth' (it's what you have to deal with once you're on target, no matter what was briefed). The previous AT&T shop was very helpful with knowledgeable folks but this new one isn't terribly helpful. I visited with questions about my plan and the man who assisted was only interested in selling new phones, or new plans but seemed to be very unclear on the customer service side. In fact, at one point, he said that his store was really just to sell phones and plans and that for any customer service issues, I needed to call AT&T. That's unfortunate, because for years, I could simply pop into the AT&T shop and they could always help. read more

Went to store Sunday April 13th to upgrade 90 year old father's phone. He provided all identification and didn't want to has his drivers license scanned, and politely requested an alternative method of verification, as he had done in the past. Manager "Nick" started screaming at him saying "get out of MY store" if he wasn't willing to have his license scanned into to their data base. When asked why that alternative method wasn't available "Nick" screamed "get out or I'll call the police." It was a complete unprovoked road rage episode that made him fearful. In no case was any of my father's requests made with anything other than a polite tone and polite wording and no insults. I have never experienced or witnessed anything like that. Stopped in to inquire abour replacing a phone on my plan. The are four employees in store. One who is taking names to talk to the single employee who is waiting on people. One is playing games on the computer and not sure what the fourth is doing. I normally work with the Greenfield store or go to Best Buy. I was at the mall so I stopped in. AT&T Store - Mobile Phones Near Me - Hadley, Massachusetts

On 6/5/19 we visited the store to upgrade phones, was pleasantly greeted by Tony N. After picking out two S10+, We were assured all info from old phones would be transferred. Proceeding forward, Tony became suddenly hurried to complete the process, we asked for screen protectors and we were told that none were available, not in Amherst, Springfield or Northampton, which was an outright lie having called the store myself, but no big deal. The problem is the information stored did not transfer like Tony said, losing a great deal of info. My advice to anyone would be not to deal with this store, Springfield takes the time to do it properly. In closing I have nothing pleasant to say. No stars from me. read more

Worst customer service, wouldn't answer phone and when they did was put on hold for twenty minutes. Now I know why people shop online

Garbage. Broke my phone, pulled up to the store five minutes before they closed, got out, and one of the girls saw me walking across the lot. I was maybe 50 feet from the door. She ran over to the door, locked it, turned her back on me, and went back to the customer at her desk without even a "sorry, we're closed". I don't leave bad reviews, but this one is earned. this experience WAS as good as it gets! Even though it took us three visits, 2 weeks and 4 hours to complete the transaction (none of that was their fault), my husband and I had a FANTASTIC experience at this store. I can't believe how helpful, courteous, knowledgable, upbeat and caring the customer service reps were, and in particular, Sean. If you are thinking about getting an at&t phone, or switching over from Verizon, like we did, run, don't walk to the Hadley, MA store (right in front of Walmart in a free-standing building) I never expected to have such a positive experience, because for me, a long time Verizon user, it was almost traumatic to switch cell phone companies. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I am VERY picky. Kudos, gentlemen of the Hadley store, my hat's off to you! read more

Sat for 5 hours while this Hadley crew struggled to fix an issue that rendered my phone useless. This was a new plan and I had already had weeks of online and telephone tech service to their "experts". Amanda, the manager contacted this same unsuccessful tech team again and assured us that if we went home, it would be fixed. We received a text next morning from the "expert team" to tell us the case was closed and "thanks for being AT&T customer". It wasn't fixed and we are locked into a plan with a phone that doesn't work, losing business everyday. Amanda would not return our call after three days. I filed a complaint with corporate AT&T, which I am sure will take forever, but needed. Poorest experience in my life of mobile phones, both on the phone and in the Hadley Massachusetts location. DO NOT buy AT&T...you will be disappointed and trapped. read more

This isn't about the individual store, it's about Att as a whole. I just traded in my IPhone 8+ for a brand new IPhone 11. I was expecting a whole new experience with internet speed and all that good stuff since Att slows down old phones with every update. But after spending +$700 dollars I've been extremely disappointed finding that most games that worked completely fine my old phone are very slow and lagging with a brand new phone. Just not a happy customer and wanted to let people know that Att is not all that it's cracked up to be read more

Horrible store. Bought an iPhone there. As we were checking out were told by Zach that the iPhone screen scratches easily and should get cover. Spoke with manager who said it was okay to lie to sell accessories. Spoke with other manager who said they need to sell accessories so they need to do what they need to do. Don't trust them. Staff intentionally mislead people to sell things. read more

WORST STORE EVER, worst customer service EVER! My husband bought me a new iPhone for Christmas. Wrong color. I went to exchange, they told me it was a $55 charge. To exchange a brand new, unopened iphone?? They never told my husband about the additional charge. He repeatedly told the sales guy he didn't know if I'd like the color and no additional charge for exchange was mentioned. The sales guys actually said 'if she doesn't like the color she CAN exchange it' I asked to talk with the manager he wasn't any help. I ended up calling at&t- they seemed to know nothing of the $55 return/exchange fee. Had no idea what I was talking about... leaves me wondering what's going on there. I live in town and have been to this at&t store twice, lousy customer service both times. I will never return to this store. And recommend anyone needing help, don't waste your time. Whenever I had reception problems with my cell phone while I lived in Amherst (sadly, this was a fairly frequent occurrence), I wound up at this store to see what was wrong. With the exception of one time when I needed a SIM card replacement, the issue always ended up being a cell phone tower or their network. Which is understandable once in a while, I suppose (even though I never hear about Verizon having such problems...hmph), but it was starting to be a yearly thing - September rolled around, thousands of students returned to campus with their AT&T phones in tow, and just like that, the cell phone towers were in overload. What irritated me was the way the customer service reps handled it. They were short with me, and one time, they more or less ushered me out of the store. Another customer was purchasing a phone at the time, and I can only assume that they didn't want him to overhear my complaints. Anyway, the moral of the story here is, don't buy an AT&T phone if you live in the Hadley/Amherst area, and if you already have one, don't go to this store for customer service. read more

Two days of calling and they never answered the phone. When I finally got to the store and told them, they had no reply. No apologies. Then I had to do something on my phone myself instead of them calling customer service and taking care of it for me. I asked about a student discount and they said they don't do anything for students when the Amherst website is very clear there is. Checked into the store when I arrived and was told it would be a half an hour wait. At the 45 minute mark I noticed that 2 people who had arrived after us were being waited on. When I mentioned this to the greeter, he mentioned that it appeared we had been dropped from the queue. When I asked how this could have happened he shrugged his shoulders and said he would add us to the queue again. What a poorly run business site. I would leave AT&T right now, but it would cost me a fee. read more

I walked in and was waited on right away, even though the clerks looked busy and other customers were in the store. I just needed to switch phones and Melissa was courteous and efficient in assisting me. While I was waiting, another employee came up to check on me. I am not sure why there are bad reviews, as my experience was nothing but excellent. Great job, AT&T Hadley! read more

Customer service was horrific. They couldn't have tried any less to be helpful. Once I purchased the phone, he was curt, rude and utterly uninterested in assisting me, in even the most rudimentary way. Cut off my questions before they were out of my mouth. I just gave up and went home. Still don't know how to activate voice commands on my new iPhone. read more

My ATT phone didn't work. The manager of the store said-- and this is the truth-- "You should take it to Target or to Walmart. They can fix it for you." When I asked what was wrong with it, he said: The phone was "mass produced." I responded: That's like saying humans breathe air. It was an ATT phone but no one at the ATT store had any interest in fixing it. read more

I ordered my iphone 5 (black) from this store. The next day I got an email say they were shipping me a white iPhone, which is just not for me. I called them up, and the rep curtly informed me I had to wait for it to arrive. At which time I could return it, order another one, and wait. While they hold on to my $250 for over a month. You would think they might call up and say hey we messed up can you change that white one for a black one before it ships. At no point was a reasonable option offered to a customer of 5+ years. They didn't even take responsibility, they made me feel like I did something wrong. Not going back there, might even cancel my contract once it up. read more

I'm dictating this review for my mother who has physical limitations in typing, and her AT&T phone is broken. And the company is not willing to do anything about it: "Joseph the saleman lied to me. Sold a service with a phone that did not expand keyboard as he stated. This was an absolute condition of the sale, and the phone does not do that. On day 3 of owning, and was refused service unless I pay a $45 restocking fee. Joe growled at me and told me it was not his job to teach me anything about the phone. The store was empty and they wouldn't help. I requested an even exchange due to untruthful salemanship. I asked for a demo at purchase time, but Joe said the demo model is broken. I trusted Joe but he lied. Phone is very poor quality- poor sound, dropping calls constantly. Salespeople all refused help without money upfront first. " read more

I had an amazing experience with this location! I was switching from Verizon to AT&T and was adding my boyfriends phone line onto my new line and I got the new iPhone while I was there. We were waited on almost immediately by Zach and he just took us through the whole process! Got the new lines set up, got the phone, got a discount for working at Holyoke medical center. He walked me through setting up the my AT&T app and showed me how I can pay my bills online. He was just great and super friendly and extremely knowledgeable! Lousy service and they ripped me off. This summer I bought a new phone and a new case. Immediately I had problems with communication on the phone-either the person at the other end of the line could not hear me or would tell me I sound like I am under water. I was very upset because I thought I had just spent a ridiculous amount of money on a new phone that does not work. I took the case off to try using the phone without the case. I tested it for a couple of weeks and no problem with sound. Today I went back to the store to tell them about my case issue. The employee told me it is a common problem with this case. Hmm, why did the guy who sold it to me fail to explain that, I asked. No explanation for that of course. So I complained that he sold me a case for $100 that may protect my phone but is useless because NO ONE CAN HEAR ME when I use it. Employee informed me he will not take it back because I bought it more than two weeks ago BUT he can show me other phone cases. So after his store ripped me off he wants me to buy another case from him. Seriously? Four phones in my family and we will NOT be back there. read more

My god this place is bad. We spent 45 minutes there (intending to buy a phone), left with nothing, and exchanged a maximum 10 sentences with the sales rep. Customer service was not her strong suit. Neither was catty subtlety...wish I had checked her name tag. read more

I went in to upgrade my old iPhone, and had a terrible experience. First, I had to wait upwards of 20 minutes for help, while two people (including the manager) stood behind their computers and ignored me. Second, the person who finally came to me tried to get me to buy an iPad (not a hard sell, just a suggestion) and told me of the benefits of Android phones, both of which I cared nothing about. When he finally got to printing up the contract, it was blatantly wrong showing $30/mo more than it should have been. They basically shrugged their shoulders and said they didn't know why. They went to the manager who tried to work out why the bill was wrong, then shrugged his shoulders. They then said they'd need to call customer service (though they are themselves supposed to be customer service), made the call, AND THEN HANDED THE PHONE TO ME! Jeez. At that point I said no dice and left the store. The final straw is these jokers had deactivated my phone when they were checking whether they could transfer data off of it. I didn't realize until, ironically, I tried to call my brother to tell him the pathetic service I received. I called the manager who said I needed to come back to the store to get a new SIM card, which apparently the had !@#$ed on my phone. The manager said they'd replace the card at no charge - how generous! This experience was a total failure on their part. They had an existing customer wanting to do a simple upgrade, and they blew it. I went across the street to Verizon, and had the opposite experience. I cannot recommend this store.
