I even tried going to corporate to put a formal complain on this person and that was a nightmare just getting through someone. AT&T Store - Mobile Phones Near Me - Indio, California

Customer service cancelled my online order and told me I had to go to a store and get my product in store or order it there. I live 80-120 miles from a store. I was not happy. I called 8 stores before reaching this one. Those other 8 stores either didn't have what I wanted or their customer service was poor, they didn't want to take the time to help me over the phone before driving 120 miles. I called this store and they took the time to help me over the phone before I drove the 120 miles and they customer service exceeded any customer service I've ever received. I even tried to tip them and they kept telling me it was unethical for them to except a tip . Props to them for following the rules but I still wish I could have tipped them! I was a victim of fraud here last year. A sales representative named Kevin Q. tricked me at this location. If I weren't a part of a family plan which has a good discount, I would have switched out of AT&T instantly after this experience. Here's the story: Last year while traveling in Palm Springs I got my phone stolen. Feeling defeated and disappointed, I came to this location the morning after to get a new phone. The wait was about 1 hour, but whatever what can you do. Overall this whole process took about 2+ hours to get a new phone. Normally, I always purchase my phone in full right at the beginning rather than pay monthly payments--mainly because I don't want to be tied in a contract, pay any interest, or make my plan more expensive. I clearly explained this to my sales rep, Kevin, and told him I would like to purchase the phone outright *with absolutely NO CHANGES to my plan* please. During the process, he asked me if I'd like to add on services, extra features, buy a case, buy a bluetooth speaker, a bunch of extra things that I had no interest in. I said "no thank you" to every item, just the new phone. It seemed to irritate him that I would not give into any of these gimmicks. HERES THE FRAUD: Later on when I got back from my vacation I got an email saying "Welcome to AT&T Mobile Protection Pack" which was strange because I *explicitly* told Kevin that I did not want to add insurance. I looked at my receipt, and indeed Kevin had added mobile insurance to my plan for an extra $12 a month. !!---!! Not only that, instead of charging me $649 for the phone's full price and not having a contract like a EXPLICITLY ASKED, Kevin charged me $625 instead as a "down payment" and locked me into a 24 month contract where I would be paying $1 a month, totaling the phones price of 649. !!----!! I didn't notice at the time of sale because the tax made it around $690 so I figured that was correct. I regret not checking at the store, knowing I had that uncomfortable feeling. Luckily, I noticed this deception before the 14 day return period was over and was able to return my phone and reverse the plan. I was still charged a $45 restocking fee though. This representative deserves to be fired. Adding on features without asking and blatantly IGNORING my request to not change my plan (just so you can get commission on a sale) is FRAUD. I plan on reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau. ADVICE: Do everything online instead of going to *any* AT&T store. Never again! Cellular service is mediocre, dead spots in areas I travel in California. I went back with Verizon, I should have never left! I traded a payed off iPhone 8 for a 700.00 credit for new iPhone thru ATT. Now I'm stuck with a 690.00 bill from ATT for the phone. I tried to go down to the Jackson store to resolve the bill and get some credit back from my old phone towards this bill. They pretty much said I'm out of luck and wouldn't help me out. Seriously what personalized technology store do you go to and just walk in and get helped at?? Certainly not the apple store or any phone career. Terrible service. These people are rip offs! Gonna go to T mobile now! People of the valley, DO NOT get ATT they are cheats! I filed an insurance claim on my phone and when I sent my defective phone back they said it was lost in the mail and that now I have to pay them $800. Not my fault USPS lost my box! Now they shut off my phones to forcefully kick us out of my great grandfathered plans! I've had ATT for over 20 years and they're crying for something that is far beyond my control! Worst experience ever. Walked in and all associates were helping other guests. No other customers were waiting so I figured I would wait for someone to finish up. Had a seat and an associate acknowledged me told me I'd be helped next. After a brief time several other customers came in and were waiting also. An associate finished with her client and asked me if I had a quick question. I told her I didn't have a quick question and before I could explain that I wanted to transfer my family from T-Mobile to att she cut me off and said it would be a 45 min wait. Fabian did a great job helping my daughter upgrade her iPhone. Explained price ranges so she could make a decision. Though, we almost walked out before even speaking with him. I made a 2:30 appointment, arrived at that time. 1 person also waiting. Appointments come first per the website. Well, they started helping the other guy first. Very nice people! My daughter broke my iPhone screen so I went to the ATT store to get a new one through the insurance I bought. Well it turns out that the deductible was $200 because I just bought the phone. The manager suggested I go to the APPLE store and get the screen fixed for $100. He totally saved me $100! I would not recommend this location, ORDER ON LINE or GO ELSEWHERE!!!! This store needs additional training, they are not up on the current promotions, nor do they even know how to look up corporate discounts and rates. They can not even tell you what your bill will be with your corporate discount unlike other companies. I ended up calling directly to AT&T to get things fixed the next morning this store messed up, after being stuck at the store for 3+ Hours. BEWARE .....WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I went to this store to see if I can get a cheaper bill if I switch from VERIZON and they said yes. I ported over 3 devices and numbers from Verizon and that was the worst decision I made in long time. They lied and said I wouldn't have any problems using my Verizon phone with there AT&T service. I had glitches on my phone from the very beginning. I asked if they could fix it and they said word for word "there's only so much they could do. Sorry". I had to literally call my phone insurance company and pay $200 to get a new AT&T phone so it would work. I received my new phone and it doesn't come close to how good my Verizon phone worked. I should of stayed with Verizon. There service us so much better and I had no problems at all. I walked out of the store in Indio off of Jackson St and there was no service at all. PLEASE BEWARE and do your research if your thinking about switching services because I wish I never had. Cause the employees at this AT&T store lie to you just to get your business. I learned the hard way and I'm paying for it with my horrible service and there horrible customer service. Verizon is truly better in service and has far more superior customer service. read more
