Well, there is one born every minute. Two men "representing" AT&T came to my door on a Friday. They sat in my house for two hours convincing me they were the real deal. Well today it is Tuesday and nothing has happened. I got suspicious. So I went to the AT&T in Westport, Kansas City, MO. I was greeted by Kyle E and Tyler Z. Long story short: I had been scammed. These two men patiently walked me through the process, gave me a great deal on a better phone: A Motorola model Moto G. The thing I really want to stress, is go to a corporately owned store. They bundled T.V., internet (with a REAL 100K giga bites that truly work, and my phone for under $100.00 monthly. I was paying $325 to two other companies. Keviat Emptor........let the buyer beware. You can do a lot things in 10 years. I've had four cell phones, three laptops and two Internet providers. None of them have been AT&T because AT&T never showed up. That's right. It's been 10 years since I ordered AT&T and nobody showed up. I reached out online and nobody responded. I called the 800 number where Jessie Cross from ProTel Systems, a company AT&T hired to provide customer service, told me the whole staff was at lunch and that somebody would reach out to me when they returned. Nobody did. When I complained again Jessie told me he was just a sales manager and it wasn't his job to help me. Later, I spoke with Ms. Morris from AT&T's Office of the President. She called me an asshole and hung up on me. I tried escalating. Brenda Burke reached out by phone, however she never responded to my messages. Am holding on to this a bit? Being spiteful? Holding a grudge? Yeah, probably. Anyway, here we are 10 years later, and AT&T still sucks. Cable, telecom and data companies aren't fun, so I won't shill for one here. just transferred our ATT service from U verse to Direct TV and needed help. Trevor Teegarden happend to be at the store in Independence on Monday where we had purchased the boxes but couldn't get any assistance for help from the employees there. When we called again for help he offered to come right over. He spent a good hour setting up both tv's and went step by step with us so we would know how to use on Demand TV. He was very patient, kind and friendly. we enjoyed visiting with him. He is very knowledgeable and experienced and ATT is very lucky to have him as an assistant manager to represent their company. I stopped in here to buy a case for my iPhone recently. There were several staff members working on this particular evening. I was immediately greeted and offered assistance. Unfortunately, there weren't many iPhone 3GS cases available because god forbid I have an iPhone which is a year old. The only secure looking case was $34.99. Meh. I passed and got one on eBay instead for $15. This is a decent looking store, so I'll likely be back here in the future when I do choose to upgrade my phone. read more

I have always had a good experience at this location, but be prepared to wait if you are a walk-in on the weekend. If you do need to stop in on the weekend be sure to set up a scheduled appointment time in advance. I had the pleasure of having David as my customer service representative on my last visit here but the manager Seth also helped to make me feel like a valued customer upon entering the store. I walked in on a Saturday night around 4pm and that was my fault. Next time I will definitely be sure to set up an appointment in advance. They finally made it through all the customers and got to me around 6:30pm and it was well worth it. David made sure I understood every step of the process and got every deal currently available. Not only did I get the phone I was hoping for but he also helped me pick out the correct payment plan that was right for me. If you have to come to this store, be prepared to wait a while to be helped. After two attempts to visit the store for informational purposes and perhaps to pre-order an iphone 6, both times the wait was a half an hour. I am not going to wait half an hour to pre-register for a product. The greeter should have asked me what my issue was and then saved me 30 minutes. Who knows if they would even be able to help me after I was to wait for 30 minutes and find out then. The greeter should have screened for the purpose of my visit instead of merely asking for my name and phone number. If you call this store, you will not be able to speak with a live human. I was sitting in the store waiting on a phone repair and witnessed this happen. I am not sure of the actual bill but I am sure it was close. A guy came in to pay ho his bill. Before paying he asked the lady waiting on him if it had been paid and she says no. He pulls out his wallet and pays in cash. He the b walks out the door and immediately comes back in and says my bill was already paid. The las lady looks it up and says yes it was. He sAmy's to her I need a refund and she tells him no we don't do that you will see a credit on upper next bill. He gets upset. Which I totally understand. it's December no one has an extra 500.00 to pay ahead on a phone bill. The store manager is now involved tells him nothing I can do. Never once tel told him who to call for refund. Instead calls security. security shows up and the guy lies to security. I called him out on the lying. I told him he shouldn't have lied and the guy was never closer than three feet to you. The island was between him. read more

Due to changes in my finances I had to cancel my phone service with AT&T to look for cheaper options elsewhere. It the process of switching to a different servicer, my phone locked. It took me 2 WEEKS of back and forth contact with customer service on the phone, only for them to send me back to the store. But when I got to the store, a rep hounded me and kept asking why I switched and swore up and down that they have the cheapest phone service, even though I kept telling him I've already switched servicers and just need my phone unlocked. Then he just told me there's nothing they could do and sent me on my way. There are always additional hidden fees, customer service is a nightmare and they're always trying to get you to upgrade everything and spend more money to the point where the pushiness gets irritating. I'm not one to write bad reviews (this is my first), but my whole experience with AT&T was incredibly frustrating. Never choosing AT&T again. read more

So if you asked an 8 year old to balance your check book you would of course lower your expectations considerably on what you would get. And the same holds true when dealing with phone companies. There is a certain pain threshold that you know you will have to endure. Even more so for cell phone companies. Still even going in with these extremely low expectations AT&T managed to fail to clear such a low bar. I arrived to buy the new Galaxy SIII phone and maybe sign up for the U-Verse internet service.... I left looking for a Verizon store. All I needed to make the SIII purchase was to know how much it would cost with the memory upgraded to 32GB and if the data plan would have to be changed in buying the phone. First I ended up having to to train the sales guy on his product. Explaining that the phone had a removable memory stick that could be upgraded. Then I had to explain that their store sold those memory sticks so I just needed to know how much the larger one cost. Also had to explain other aspects of the phone. Details such as the fact that the SIM cards can be swapped between phones, the operating system had features that AT&T removed, etc. After that we got the the question of changes to data service plan, which became an ordeal since they did not seem to know what service plan I needed. First they said I had to use the most expensive option. Then the story changed a couple of times, then it took almost 5 minutes to look up my account. They finally found the account and confirmed I could buy the phone as is, and the price was $200. I approved the purchase. At this point this simple purchase had already taken something like 20 min. He then started trying to set up the upgrade in their system. No idea how long this actually took, but it seemed like an eternity. Not sure why the process of buying a cell phone always seems to take about as much time as buying a car. After it was finally all setup and was time to pay we found the computer was coming up with a price of $600 (did not include taxes or fees. ) for a $200 phone. This could not be explained. The full un-subsidized price of the phone was only $550. No one could figure out where it was getting this number. They tried to get the manager to over ride it and he refused. And when I asked to speak with him he refused to come out of the back to talk to me. So still no phone completely gave up on trying to sign up for U-Verse. Left the store and pulled out my current phone to find the nearest Verizon store. read more

Absolutely horrible service. I have UVERSE TV and Internet, in 9 months they have serviced issues 5 times. Down graded from 18Mbps to 12Mbps because they couldn't support what they sold me initially. Neighbor gets 18Mbps just fine though, strange huh, same pedestal. Yesterday my TV and internet went out, no idea why but they scheduled an appointment for Friday 8am-12pm. I waited around until 130pm and then called to find out WTF, they hadn't even dispatched a service tech yet. Now it is 720pm and they still haven't showed up or called me to inform me of any delay, after calling in again they tell me my appointment is now moved to Saturday morning 8am-12pm. Seriously horrible customer service here. Granted I think all ISP's SUCK, but I am cutting ATT loose after they fix this problem. Two hand single finger salutes to you ATT! read more

ATT Uverse is a joke. The installers don't know what they are doing (at least the one at my house). He was a nice enough guy but didn't know what all he needed to ensure was compatible and tested with the changeoever. The confirmed my alarm was compatible but didn't test it and, of course, it doesn't connect now. When I informed of this only 9 days after the installation after ADT did their monthly test, ATTUverse wanted to charge me to send a technician out to troubleshoot. I was talking to a rep about an issue and she put me on hold to find out more information and 45 minutes later I was still on hold. I guess I am the dummy for waiting on line so long for them. AT&T, ATT Uverse, tomato, tomawto...all the same. Technicians are ill trained and customer servce and billing are horrific. Do NOT go AT&T for anything. You will regret all the hassles you will have and inferior service. read more

If you are considering going to AT&T Uverse I would would strongly recommend you don't Here are my reasons for saying this. 1) The sales people will lie about what is included. Remember they're bonus or commission is based on you buying, not on being happy after they get the product in your house. 2) When you agree to a contract you should know it only applies to you. They can raise their prices at any time without warning. They just call it an annual price increase. 3) I called when they did this to me and spent 45 minutes on the phone to get a partial refund. It's really not worth the hassle. 4) Don't think you can get help by asking for a supervisor. I asked 3 times and was refused. 5) Their DVR system is a joke. I like to program a full week at a time in advance. Their system has started to only let you look at 3 or 4 days in advance. 6) If you ask them about their internet speed they will give you a number, if you press them they will tell you the speed they quoted is "up to". They won't tell you there isn't a minimum speed that you might get. If you're unhappy they tell you that you need to upgrade and spend extra money to get the speed you thought you were paying for originally. 7) Their customer service isn't the worst in the world, that belongs to Best Buy, but it is easily the 2nd worst. I am presently locked into a 1 year contract with them and can't afford to pay their cancellation fee, but I will be changing as soon as it is up. I strongly recommend you don't get into my situation. read more
