Definitely not cool when your current phone of over 3 years starts to zonk out on you. I had seen it coming, but I thought I could push my little 5c. I was wrong. I do not enjoy spending money on phones, so I did some extensive research online prior to making my purchase. This included seeing what att had to offer me. I had iPhones for quite a few years, but I was definitely not willing to spend upwards of $400 plus just so most of the downloads and upgrades would be unavailable in a year. Thus, I purchased the Motorola Play G6. Of course, my local Lagrange att store didn't have it in stock so I had to make do and head out to Oak Park since I needed an actual phone for my work shift. I was easily able to make the purchase online. Upon my 30 minute commute in rush hour traffic I arrived and the Security guy graciously asked what my name was and how he could help. About 5 minutes later the store associate came to assist. She was knowledgeable, professional, and actually down to earth. We even discussed the upcoming Bears game that was scheduled that evening. Now the only reason one star is knocked off is because she didn't set the phone up for me. In her defense, she did say she would do it if I had some time, but she was also quick to note that instructions to do so myself are available online. I thought I would let her get back to her commissions so I departed. The wonderful security guy held open the door for me as I left. I'm unsure if people actually enjoy going to att stores, as I just associate it with harassment and high prices. However, this experience in Oak Park was definitely positive. read more

DONT GO HERE. I transferred to Internet AIR here and should have been easy. But instead a headache of stress for weeks. The staff know little or nada about internet service, and I was told wrong information from 4 different people here. The 800 number corrected it. One man did not even know that the store had a phone number! ANother misquoted the cost, another told me that they could not handle billing issues which contradicts ATT overcharging me. The single worst customer experience of the decade. The young woman who helped me was far more interested in watching television than helping me. She explained that she could only get me an appointment at 8 AM the next morning (I do work) or I could not get my product. None of the employees in the store seemed busy doing anything, despite the fact that there were customers in the store. I thank God for Donovan from ATT support who helped me over the phone. Att Uverse is a Universal LIE!!! Buyer BEWARE!!! I went into ATT to find a better plan, I was Hoodwink into More!... I left one of there competitors because I was paying $250 dollars a month. ATT TOld me they can beat That price by giving me a plan for $180 dollars for 4 lines. After the representative finished talking to me, she convinced (deceived me) that she could do that. So found my account number and switched. My first bill was $80 dollars for two lines, I said this is great. However, my second bill my bill came to $586. I was SEETHING! I call that evening and I literally was screaming at the CSR. How is this possible???!! The CSR talk to me like I was crazy, They Pretended like they could not understand me. Terrible store. We have been to this store several times and they have never been helpful. They consistently do the minimal effort and when asked about alternative options, the best they can do is telling us to call customer service. Customer service is a different branch of the company, we can't do anything for you in store. They also consistently have bad information and aren't willing to talk to a manager (if one's even at the store) and are content with letting customers walk out of the store upset. Thank you Christine at AT&T you rock! While we were at lunch my mom got a call and promptly whipped out her cell phone circa 1999. Truthfully, it's not that old, it just looks like it. Honestly, the thing had seen far better days, some of the numbers were rubbed off and the screen was all nicked and scuffed up. She waived off my suggestion that she roll into AT&T and upgrade her phone until I said those magic words. "You might be able to do it for free" She was over her sorry old phone in seconds flat and insisted we stop on the way home. Enter Christine... Christine couldn't have been more helpful and patient. She had my mom's account up in a jiff and confirmed that she was eligible for an upgrade. Even better my mom could get a newer Nokia and for free. Since this meant my mom didn't need to learn how to work a new phone, she instantly became Christine's BFF. After Christine had moved the 4 numbers my mom stores in her phone (home, Dad, my cell and my house) we thought we were ready to roll, but wait! This is the part where Christine earns that extra star. She noticed that they have combined billing, but if they do something - we never really understood what - they could save $25 per month. Now she had my dad's attention too. We're not sure what she did, all we know is she said it wouldn't cost anything OR change any of their plans, but it still would save them money. At this point my dad was officially on the Christine rocks bandwagon. In under 30 minutes Christine had my mom sporting a new phone, saved them $25 a month and donated the old phone for them. She made what usually ends up being a long and frustrating trip to deal with parental cell phone issues quick and stress-free. read more

I know American Telephone and Telegraph is the evil empire and are trying to stop net neutrality, but if you caved and got an iPhone like I did, this is a good place to get things taken care of. I finally got my number changed over to a local area code (312 Represent!) and they tuned up my account, made sure I was on the right plan, all that. Changing the number took a little but so they were using their time wisely. They were very friendly and not in the fake way. After spending all this time there, the devices were not in stock!! I had to return another day, with a new person, new prices, new sales pitch. After speaking with the Supervisor Joe!!! He gave me his card and stated the next visit will go smoothly, NOT! I call him repeatedly for help he didn't return not one call. This store has excellent customer service, even though you have to sign a list to ensure prompt service to the next customer. The Rep greet you with a smile, they multitask and have a good knowledge about their product. Correna Thomas and Jacob Hopps are truly sensational in solving your problems to keep your wireless device in operation., whether is a cell phone , notebook or products in the store, the employees are very helpful. I took my elderly mother in to change her TV and internet into her name as my father recently passed away. Jamie and Christian went above and beyond in helping us out! First, they looked at her current plan and recommended a new plan that would save her $50 a month. This entailed having to turn off her internet and Tv until a serviceman could hook up the new system (at no cost to her). Jamie set my mom up so she didn't have to go without the TV or internet by programming her iPad with the hot spot. Then after the new internet was connected he and Christian made a home visit to set up her TV and show her how to use it! They even took the old equipment to Fed Ex so she didn't have to! I am giving this place one star because I couldn't give less. On Mother's Day I went to this place to have an upgrade in one of my phone. The retail sales consultant that took care of my family and I told us that there was a promotion BOGO (buy one get one free). So I bought two iPhones and 2 were supposed to be free. Well when I checked my AT&T account I'm paying for 4 iPhones!!!!!! I went to the store and the retail sales consultant (Edwin) no longer works there. Another retail sales consultant took care of me. I explained the situation to her and she told me that Edwin entered upgrade instead of promotion. Then she processed to tell me that there was not a promotion at that time, she said she had checked in the system and there was no promotion and she told me some dates and supposedly there was a promotion but that it was not during Mother's Day. Well at that time I was furious, she told me I needed to call 611 from any AT&T phone for the company to solve this issues (Which was originated at this store). I called AT&T, explained the issue to them and I was told that the store had to solve the issue. As always nobody wants to take responsibility for it. But the AT&T representative told me that there was a BOGO from 4/1-5/31 and that the retail sales consultant had lied to me. Well I'm still stocked with the bill and neither the store nor the company are taking responsibility!!! The retail sales consultant (Jazmier). Gave me false information just to get rid of me!!! What a breath of fresh air! Ernesto and Dan at AT&T were extremely knowledgeable, kind and accommodating! My mom and I went there about 10 minutes before closing on a late Friday night to get a new phone cover ... with great success. Also, Ernesto and Dan really helped this newbie technophobe get acquainted with new technology and the android operating systems. They are extremely knowledgeable and are excited about these new products! Once I am ready, I am definitely coming back to not only buy my new phone, but have Ernesto and Dan give me tutorials!!! First visit to this store. Been having awful problems with ATT DSL Internet service so went here to actually talk to someone to try and figure out what the problem. Jose was fantastic, he spent over an hour with me and my questions, etc. It was a lot of work, but hopefully a switch to U-Verse service for land line and internet service will take care of the Internet problems I have been encountering for a long time. Only time will tell. The store was clean and everyone was very friendly. Jose deserves a hearty hand shake and pat on the back for helping me (non techy) with my frustration regarding ATT Internet service (dropping connection, buffering, etc.). Hope this solves my problem. You don't find customer service much anymore (it is a thing of the past) but it is alive and well at this AT&T store. read more

The young lady was clearly annoyed by my questions and, in fact, decided to stop our conversation because she needed to hug one of her coworkers. I was the only client at the store... Was in a couple weeks ago for the holidays, the employees have no urgency. I waited an hour to upgrade a phone when the employee finally gets to me she tells me I can't! I waited for an hour with a fussy 2 year old, why were the proper questions not asked when my name was taken down, so if was something I couldn't do I would wait there with a 2 year old so long! (Only reasonI waited so long because I was trying to get a phone for my son as a X-Mas gift)supposedly they take your name down so you wait to be called on, yet they took care of a lady who just walks in. The employees have shitty attitudes you can tell they have an attitude of "you need our services we don't need you so you can wait!" My fiancé and I even over heard an employee give a sarcastic attitude to a customer telling him "YEAH YOU HAVE YOURSELF A HAPPY HOLIDAY!" If you read between the line the employee pretty much told him GO FUCK YOURSELF. The guy looked like he wanted to kick the employees ass, LOL. I asked for a Manager n the employee stated " I don't know when he's here, he's hardly here he's always at meetings " REALLY?!REALLY?! How is a Manager Never Present at his own Store?! I have friends who are Managers for cell phone companies and the Are Always at their store! If there are meetings they go back to their store afterwards. I am a prepaid mobile phone customer. Have been for years; it meets my needs. I was sent a new free 5G phone by AT&T because my old phone will soon be obsolete. I made an appointment at the Oak Park store to have my old phone transferred to my new phone. When I met with the rep (possibly Erik?), he said he could activate my phone but could not transfer any info; I would have to call AT&T and have its tech support department help me with that. I asked why he could not do it for me. To paraphrase, he said that due to COVID, they no longer offered this courtesy to customers because it could take a couple of hours and that they felt customers could do it from the comfort of their homes. How b***s*** is that! A good friend of mine went to the Skokie AT&T store very recently with the same request, and her phone's info was transferred. What the heck? Always jam packed, they make you sign in on a "waiting list" - just to be waited on. Never have I gone here without a good 20-30 minutes wait in order just to talk to one of their service people. Customer service, and staff USED to be friendly and accomodating, and NOW it's like you walked in and they're too busy for you. It's ALWAYS jammed packed no matter what AT&T store you go to - you sign in on a wait list to be waited on, waiting 1 hour + to be helped is ridiculous!- staff in general is not professional and think that they are 10x better then you are- prices are high for the service that you get. Therefor, I switched to verizon and I am paying cheaper monthly about $50.00 cheaper or more. Why was I wasting my time with AT&T?!?!? read more

I have been to this location several times, each time there are employees hanging around the entrance. Today, there were three employees lingering - one leaning on the brick wall, one sitting on the curb, and one leaning against the window. It looks unprofessional and feels uncomfortable. 3/12/16 - I went today to pay my bill at the kiosk. The kiosk is shut down an hour before closing, which doesnt seem to make good business sense, so i had to wait to make a payment in cash. The first person said uhhhhhh cash, you'll have to wait. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked if someone would help me, It is difficult to find a parking spot and once you are inside it becomes a nightmare. read more

Dropped calls, unable to complete calls, static so unbearable when you do get a connection that makes you want to toss your phone off the Sears Tower. I live in one of those dead spots so having this at home is nighmare. I complained to ATT and they offered to sell me a Microcell for $150 so i could use my internet connection (Comcast) to make my 'cell' phone calls. After much arguing with ATT they gave me a microcell for free. It works ok, better then their cell service for sure. Went into this AT&T store tonight to get new phones and a new plan. Was immediately greeted and scheduled for the next available associate. The associate who helped us was Maribel. She explained EVERYTHING and was extremely helpful in answering all our questions and ended up staying after hours to set everything up for us. My family and I have been with ATT for years and we have always enjoyed this store. Recently, writhing the past year we've had to speak to the manager about employees being flat our rude. One employee let the door close on my newborn daughter and I after holding the door for everyone else. Fast forward a year later we called to inquire about the iPhone Xs being in stock and the employee on the phone told me my daughter was talking to much so he couldn't here me and I need to know what I want when I call and I wasn't making sense. We have also seen the manager cut an employee off in mid sentence after we asked a question, he wouldn't eve look make eye contact with us.
