As a small family business that runs a licensed school, we rely on strong phone and internet service to operate smoothly. Unfortunately, our experience with AT&T has been disappointing on almost every level. Internet (Fiber) We pay for AT&T's highest-tier fiber internet for our family business, and the service is awful. The connection is slow, laggy, and unreliable. Our office is just at the end of the yard, and the internet barely reaches it. We're spending premium prices for something that should be fast and consistent - but it's not. Phone Service We have multiple phone lines through AT&T and the bills are extremely high. We've seen random charges like late fees (even though we're on autopay) and out-of-town phone fees that no one can clearly explain. Anytime we try to get help or answers, we're left more confused. In-Person Customer Service The store experience is disappointing. The staff don't seem trained to actually resolve anything and aren't helpful when you bring up billing issues or problems with service. Phone Customer Service Calling AT&T is just as frustrating. Our teacher has waited 30-40 mins on hold more than once. When someone finally answers, they can't explain what's going on or fix the issue. You get transferred around or told to "wait for an email" that never comes. Teacher Discount If you're a teacher for a daycare or preschool and thinking the teacher discount will be a helpful perk - think again. This is now the 4th time in 4mos that I've received the same message telling me to re-submit my documents to prove we're a licensed school. I've already submitted everything 2x & WAS approved -& still, they remove the discount after a short time, then send the same message again. Here's the message I keep getting: "You're almost there! Upload your ID to see if you qualify for the AT&T Teachers and families appreciation offer. You need to submit your proof of eligibility within the next 14 days or you may lose program benefits or any discount you might currently be receiving. Once you've uploaded your doc, keep an eye out for either a confirmation email or a request for more info from us." This has happened every month since I applied. We've only actually received the discount 3x- every other time it's been removed, & now we're on our 4th document request. Overall Experience We're paying for top-tier internet & multiple phone lines, & the service continues to disappoint. Between the unreliable connection, overpriced phone plans, poor support, a broken teacher discount system, we're seriously reconsidering staying with AT&T. read more

Rude and unhelpful customer service. Got a guy called Constantine who gave me attitude for wanting to switch carriers. All I needed was help getting a transfer PIN. After an hour at the store, including Constantine calling ATT himself, the problem was never solved. To step from University Avenue into this AT&T store is like stepping through a portal from a nice American town into your well-mannered grandmother's worst nightmare. BUYERS BEWARE: UNETHICAL SALESPERSON running the store will upsell you and tie you into expensive cellular contracts with unnecessary insurance and services to overinflate monthly charges. Multiple lies were told to close the deal, which I documented and reported afterwards. This store is run by Prime Communications and is an independent reseller, *not* part of ATT corporate. Visit the AT&T store on El Camino Real instead for an honest and trustworthy experience. I was set up on a premium plan with insurance and upgrade fees that ran $186 a month (crazy!) when I specifically went in to be added to an existing family plan. It took a lot of extra time and effort through ATT corporate to rebalance my plan and I was unable to transfer ownership for two months. AVOID this pain and hassle by avoiding this store! read more

We were rejected by the ATT store in Cupertino, on Saratoga Sunnyvale Rd by Hmart. The guy working there said that he cannot help us. Probably he doesn't know how to do stuff. So we were in Palo Alto the next day and stopped by this store to try our chance, for something very simple. Sammy was very helpful and very friendly. There was also a guy helping her (sorry don't know his name). But they were both very very helpful activating an iphone, switching a number and helping us. Thank you! read more

The horrible attitude. I ordered internet service from them and there is a billing issue. I went to talk to them about it. They refused to check the records and told me to call att. I asked for the sales person's name and id number and the manager became belligerent and kicked me out. I called att and was told THEY WERE NOT AN ATT SOTRE, it's only an authorized dealer. So be aware. They will say nice things to get you buy the service but won't lend any help. read more

THIS. STORE. I've tried to show up multiple times during their business hours and they're closed! Last time they had a piece of paper saying, "Back in 1 hr" so I went across the street and waited at Crepevine. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed there was a staff shortage and their one employee needed a lunch break, BUT when they actually reopened they had multiple associates and there were voices and laughter in the back room. I lost my phone, went to Apple, bought a new one, and they stated I needed to go to AT&T if I wanted to keep my same number. I was a bit stressed over the whole ordeal but went straight to AT&T. There was a line with one associate helping all the customers. He was very patient with each customer which was surprising because he was all by himself with multiple people waiting on him. When it came to my turn, I couldn't recall some information that was required for the sim card and without a phone, I couldn't call anyone in my family plan. BEWARE! This store will sign you up for mobile insurance even when you specifically say no to it. This fraudulent practice has happened twice now. When confronted in store I am told I have to call Customer Service. After spending an hour talking to multiple folks I am told they can cancel but not refund the months of unwanted insurance. I was even told by the AT&T "loyalty" department that "this is a big problem because the workers in the stores get commission for the insurance". The worker name Obay I think that's how you spell it, accused me of being sarcastic to him and he was plain rude when I was just confused on what he was talking about. He expected me to understand how at&t and their phones work when it's suppose to be him to tell me these things? I bought an iphone 8 from here with a promotion of an ipad 32GB for free (which they opened it in the store right away and removed all the covers and through them away) and they ordered an iphone 8 plus instead. When I called them to let them know about their mistake they told me that I have to wait to receive the phone and return it and then wait for another right one to be ordered. They told me that they are going to check if they can find one nearby but when I called back to check their phone is constantly saying that the store is closed. and there's no way of communicating with them who are about 50 miles away. This rating is not only for them but for the AT&T as well. Unfortunately there's no way to rate AT&T here, which they would get a negative star if I could rate them that way. read more

They have the worst customer service ever. They are always out of stock and unapologetic. I came here last week Friday to get the iPhone X the manager said they only had 2 instock and were sold out. 10 mins later one of the other guys girlfriend walked in and they upgraded her account with the iPhone X they said they did not have. Hmmm Today I came in and no one even greeted me or any of the guest that walked in. I needed to reactive one of my phones and they said they did not have a SIM card. The manager then said I could go to the apple store next door for one or go to another apple store with such bad attitude. I will never come here again, no wonder it always looks so empty. Mike was super helpful when I came in with my dad. Dad is older and not tech savvy at all (Sorry Dad..) his previous phone and service with Metro PCS was awful and i said "Enoughs, enough" and felt AT&T was the way to go, I find Verizon too expensive and Sprint is a hit or miss. Mike was able to explain in detail not only billing but suggested a simple smart phone and how to use it to my dad, I normally try to help him with these sort of things but it was very kind this young man took the time to explain in a calm and patient manner with us. My dad certainly felt better once everything was said and done. I currently have Sprint through work but should I need to switch, I certainly know where to go. read more

Revoke AT&T's monopoly!! I called ATnT to ask what is the status of my service installation and they deny any knowledge and will not be cooperative in fulfilling their obligation to install service at my address. Further they hung up without providing any reason why they are delaying service installation. My ISP provider is Sonic and ATnT is purposely delaying installation of service in order to infuriate Sonic customers such as myself. We are going on 2 weeks of ATnT not doing their required service installation. I feel that their monopoly should be broken up and actually allow free competition. They are in this case specifically leveraging their position to squeeze Sonic out of business. The funny thing is that the address already has all the infrastructure in place to support the service, they are literally not turning it on. read more

Nick, the store manager, was amazing. I really don't understand where the negative feedbacks came from. Anyhow, I purchased a used, still on contract phone (Samsung S7 Edge), from someone on Craigslist. Nick was super knowledgeable and went above and beyond for us. The seller bought the new Samsung Note 7 to replace the S7 Edge. Nick did the following: 1. Paid off seller's old phone 2. Activated seller's new Note 7 3. Transferred the data over from S7 to Note 7 4. Wiped out and reset the S7 Edge 5. Release the S7 to my account 6. Verified the S7 is legit with clean IMEI 7. Provided me instructions to get my device unlock within 24 hrs through online access I personally believe no one else from any of the AT&T company stores could have done a better job. I'll definitely be back to pre-order my wife's iPhone 7 from Nick! read more

I visited the store, two days after having to leave my home in the middle of the night from the Sonoma County fires. I had left my phone behind and had no way of communicating with my family. After getting no help at the Apple Store where I bought my phone, I went into AT and T and asked them if they had a phone I might be able borrow. Immediately Connor, the acting manager, got me a phone, helped me download my contacts and sent me on my way. No questions asked. I can't say enough about how helpful he was and I will be forever thankful for AT and T's help during a very difficult time. read more

My advice is to go the store on El Camino @Page Mill instead of the University Ave location. El Camino is an official AT&T owned store and University Ave is only an authorized seller - there is a big difference if something goes wrong. At the University Ave store the person that helped me took 90 minutes to sell me two new iphones on a 2-for-1 promo that ended up not being 2-for-1 at all; checking my account online today I see that I have now been fully charged $1,200 for the 2nd phone. I tried to call the store manager at 650-324-2300, but that number will only forward back to AT&T corporate customer service and AT&T corporate will not intervene in correcting the errors of a non-corporate owned store. AT&T has advised me that my only recourse is to return both phones to the University Ave store or change my billing address to Southern California, where the 2-for-1 promo is valid. read more

A friend sold me his old 6S iPhone and went into the store to get help in changing the card and moving everything from my old one to the new one. The employees could not have been nicer or more helpful. They provided service and answered my questions. At about 4:30 there were many customers (Apple was releasing their new phone and the hoards were lined up outside the Apple store 2 doors down. People kept coming in to the store while the guys stayed on top of my task, and did a great job. My only suggestion is that one try to come in during off hours as many people come by after work. That didn't however alter the service I received. I will go back for "whatever" - smaller store, really good vibes and service. read more

I would give no star if possible. Yesterday I went to the store to purchase a prepaid sim card. First I was pushed to upgrade my existing plan. I refused. I explicitly said I just want a prepaid plan for 30 days. NO autopay. However the sales person sneakily turned on autopayment when charging my credit card. After I found out, I encountered him. He denied. But I insisted and demanded to turn off autopayment. Another guy took over the case and made a phone call to AT&T customer service. A woman on the phone confirmed that autopayment was turned on and she agreed to turn it off. I then asked for a receipt for a proof. The guy responded that there is no way to provide such a receipt because the web site is down. This morning, I received text message from AT&T to congratulate me to save $5 by enrolling into the autopay plan. I don't think those are bad people by birth especially the young sales person. I think they were trained by AT&T to conduct business in such a sneaky and dishonest way. It's just so sad to see, people in this great country, the one I've lived and loved from the bottom of my heart for more than 20 years, have turned into such monsters, so greedy and low. This is just so wrong. Update: I later received a text message to confirm that autopay was turned off. Therefore I give back one star. But, this hassle should NOT have happened in the first place. read more
