We came in to switch a prepaid plan to a post paid plan. We were told this was impossible in store and we're given a number to call. Eventually we ended up talking to a phone manager and learned that we had to go back into the store and this was impossible to do on the phone. We returned to the store, where the store manager and AT&T supervisor (on the phone) argued with one another about who was able to complete this basic operation. In total it took over three hours to complete a simple change from a pre to post plan. Along the way we were lied to in various ways. We were even told it would take over two months. This was truly a circus. At one star this branch is overrated. Do not expect to be treated with the same respect or priority that you experienced when you signed up. read more

I will never have anything to do with AT&T again in my nor my kids lifetime. Switched to Sprint last June. They continued to bill me for two months, and even explained that it is the customers responsibility to cancel an account. After 9 months of haggling with their in house collections dept.... where they didn't take the time to investigate - which they informed me they would do - I finally paid them off to put them in my rear view mirror!! Every step of this miserable encounter was the same - "Sorry, I don't have access to the information you are referring to" Go to Sprint People!! Two new phones for $70.00 a month!! I tried to purchase a new iPhone last week. AT&T had non in their inventory and sent me to Best Buy. I returned to AT&T today to purchase a screen protector and they had none in their inventory as well. There were a number of staff at a table in the rear of the store and none of them tried to help my salesperson were willing to help. Very off putting. I'll skip this store and go directly to Best Buy in the future. read more

Before trying a new battery, cleaning out the port, or plugging it into a different outlet and charger, the sales person convinced her that she needed a new phone. Puh-LEASE! This is a very bad place to get you iPhone or help for that matter. 4 calls to At&t before arriving to the store, to find out that the Buy one get one is not real on the iPhone 8 Plus. Is only up to 700 dollars. I call 4 times in advance and Ask to be extra sure. Now I got this "manager"to tell me that is not true, and their were lying. I call again from the store to At&t and guess what. Yes sure you can get it completely free, which they didn't honor. Well after a few days my wife Iphone is not charging properly. When back to the store, and find out that I have to go to apple in order to get it fix. Seriously FIX a brand new iPhone. They are not going to give a new one just because and I have to pay a restocking fee of $ 45 dollars. We have been an AT&T customer for over 10 years and we maintain four separate telephone numbers. In March 2020 AT&T ran an ad in the Herald Tribune offering a $600 discount on a $899 iPhone 11-s. I went into their store at 2300 Bee Ridge Rd. and spoke to a salesman who confirmed I could trade in my old iPhone 7 for the new iPhone 11 and receive a $600 credit. I waited several billing cycles and never received any credit at all, and I have since returned to speak to the assistant manager Monica Wells on six occasions only to be promised that they would take care of the problem. Now six months later, I have heard nothing back, they will not return my phone calls, and when I appear in person they just promise to take care of it, but never do. My old iPhone worked perfectly and I would never have traded it in if I had known the new one would cost $899. I intend to pursue this with a lawyer because AT&T apparently thinks they will wear me down by ignoring me. Be aware of their ads offering discounts that they don't actually give you. read more

I was immediately greeted and helped by Rhys upon walking in. I needed a new SIM that supports LTE for a new phone that supports LTE. There is no charge for a new SIM card at corporate stores. The whole process was seamless. I was in and out in less than ten minutes. Excellent service by Rhys. I have been thoroughly impressed with AT&T's corporate store customer service regardless of location. I appreciate them having actual phones as models and not dummy phones like at Best Buy. This is a really nice AT&T in a pretty convenient location. The organization here is top notch, we went and it was fairly crowded but they use a computerized scheduling system so everything works really smoothly (unlike Best Buy; still using pen and paper). We came to get an iPhone and everything was extremely efficient and easy to do. Just be sure to call ahead to make sure they have what you want in stock. read more

My old phone's microphone went bad today while filming a work related and REQUIRED video. Yikes! So I went in desperation to my old friend AT&T. I went to the Bee Ridge Sarasota location because it's close to where I work at Wilde Honda. It was my lucky day because I got Russ as my sales professional and he was awesome! Knowing I was in a bind with not a lot of money to spend, he initially recommended a local competitor place to get my old one fixed. What a guy, ssssoooo honest ! But then he took a look at my contract with AT&T. He restructured my account and gave me a generous allowance for my old phone in a way that my payment only went up $7 per month yet my Samsung Note 10 phone with 256storage and 6gig Ram memory is so much better than the Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge Plus one that I had. It's lightning fast! Not only that but he transferred everything over cleanly and did it in a timely manner. He "saved my bacon" and I highly recommend going to that specific location and asking for Russ! Thanks Russ, you're awesome! Sincerely Jim Timpson. Best AT&T store in Sarasota. Customer service is always excellent. You may have to wait a bit because this is a very busy store. Go early in the day or after 6:00. stay away from this store if you want good old fashioned honesty and great service. my wife and i purchased 2 i phones after being told they had service available in our area which was 100% false. when we tried to return the phones 24 hours later we got the run around from the dishonest salesman and the manager further made it a most painful experience. we had to call the 800 # to get a resolution. wasted time unnecessary aggravation from a store representing a worldwide company they should be ashamed of themselves and the manager on duty steven who says he will call you back i'm still waiting 1 month later for him to call. read more

If you can even think about giving the experience of buying a cell phone service a review it must be good. To tell the truth, our family is from up north and we have found for the last 5+ years that the cell phone stores are simply much nicer in Sarasota so we wait until our next trip to do phone upgrades. You should do the same and if you are AT&T or want to switch to AT&T you really should contact the young man that helped us. His name is KYLE COPELAND, 941-925-6440 and he is super terrific. He greeted us and showed us to a table where he sat down and outlined our complicated situation and what we should consider doing to lower our bill and better our service options. REALLY? REALLY!!! He patiently waited while we dialed out for help to remember user names and passwords. Our new iphone 6's will be mailed but he gave us his card with his personal cell and told us to call if we had an issues moving over data. Just an outstanding experience all around. Whatever you do, do not go to this location. I got a new iPhone 6 along with a waterproof case. When I put the phone in the case, the mute button did not move. After trying for 20 minutes, went back to see if they have a way to make it work or get a new one. One sales rep tried several times and was able to turn on or off once or twice and said he could not replace it since it does work occasionally. I tried to turn on and off many times but it worked only once. Finally, after arguing for a few minutes, they agreed to replace it. That is when I figured out we never received a receipt from them to begin with. The phone was in my husband's name and I was the one who went there to replace the case. They said they would not replace it without a receipt or my husband present even though we were there together the same morning. If I had stolen the phone, would I have gone to have the cover replaced?!? These people did everything in their power NOT to cooperate and NOT to be helpful. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.
