Don't let Samir sell you anything! I had a very frustrating experience at the AT&T store in Union City. Samir sold me a new iPhone and also convinced me to sign up for AT&T Fiber. I was told the service would be $25/month, that everything was included, and that there were no upfront costs or catches. After getting home and checking my account, I saw a projected bill of $70/month. I also wasn't told that fiber installation would require drilling holes through my walls and installing a bulky modem inside my home. Those are important details that should be disclosed before someone signs up. The bigger issue was the phone. I was told I could simply go home and activate my new iPhone myself. Instead, when I powered it on, it displayed "PROPERTY OF AT&T" and could not be activated. I then called 611 from my old iPhone to get help. During the activation attempt, my old phone lost service and became stuck in SOS mode. AT&T support was unable to reactivate my old phone, and they also couldn't activate the new one. I was left with two unusable phones and was told the only solution was to drive back to the store to have the issue resolved. This entire experience has been a huge waste of time and could have been avoided if the phone had been properly prepared before I left the store and if I had been given accurate information about both the phone and the fiber service. Union City AT&T, get it together. Customers shouldn't leave your store with a phone that can't be activated, end up with their old phone disabled, and then have to make another trip back because of mistakes that should have been caught before the sale. read more

AT&T wireless internet did not work well, and AT&T are scam artists. We've had Comcast for business internet for a few years. This year, I experimented with AT&T wireless business internet as a potential cost savings measure. The AT&T internet was advertised at $65 per month. This would have been a decent monthly savings if it worked as well as Comcast. I gave it a few months but the AT&T internet did not work as well as Comcast. Additionally, it was not $65 per month, it was $77. The extra $12 per month was equipment fees and taxes. So I cancelled AT&T, and immediately sent the router equipment back. However I was charged $237 for the equipment, despite the fact that we returned it in perfect condition. I was also charged an additional month, for a total of $314. When I called AT&T, I was told that I had a 30 day grace period from the time I started the account in order to return the equipment. Since I evaluated it a few months, apparently I missed my opportunity to send it back for a refund. This was NOT explained when I started the account. Beware of these scam artist. If you sign up for AT&T business internet, you are not renting the equipment, you are buying it. read more

Just left the store and I'll say walking in I felt relieved by the gentleman that greeted me. I thought the line didn't look too long. Maybe 3 ppl ahead of me. I then noticed one customer walk out that had been there before me. Two reps then got done with their customers and one went in the back and another double helping another rep. This store deserves a negative rating. Not sure why AT&T doesn't just get rid of this location. The employees there act like they are at a carnival - talking, laughing loudly with no regard for the customers that are there. The employees aren't knowledgeable either. This is the second time I went there and decided to leave. The Fremont location is so much more professional and they actually help you. This person couldn't even explain to me why my actual bill was higher than what she was showing me. I kept saying several times that I pay a lot more than what you are saying, she finally says "oh the rest is taxes". Why are you working there if you don't know something as basic as that. Came here for a SCREEN REPAIR on the 7th ... Left with a damaged camera, I can't take photos in the sun. I called about my camera being messed up and shouldn't have bothered with my camera since It wasn't anything wrong with my camera. I've only had my phone for about 8 months. My phone is still new to me. I bought my phone back on Wednesday so she can look at it. when she looks at my phone, she's going to say it's probably your oils from your fingers and wipes my camera. then I show her the photos my phone takes while in the sun. she says she's going to clean it. that takes about an hour. I get my phone back. She tells me to check it out. I go outside to check my camera in the sunlight. I couldn't tell anything until I went into my car. I came into this store on memorial day weekend to upgrade two phones and add an ipad to my account. During the purchase I received phenomenal customer service, it was wonderful. During the break down of my new bill the sales associate I worked with encouraged me to call ATT customer service once the bill populated to have them waive the two upgrade fees & one activation fee. ($105) I called customer service and they stated they do not do that and to return to the store. Super frustrating. So i return to the store and speak with a different associate and explain my situation. She states her manager is the only one who is capable of waiving and he was on a hour long call but not to worry she would take my name and number and call me after she discussed the situation with him. Two days pass, no call. So i return to the store. Today i'm met by the original sales associate and she is definitely giving a very different level of customer service in comparison to the day I bought the devices. She's telling me how the conversation went, how she never said that because she "would never tell a customer that" and making it out like i'm manipulating what she said when that's not true. She's now telling me I need to have a certain membership to have the fees waived which was never discussed to begin with. I don't work for ATT, i don't know what the policies or procedures are. Why would i expect a fee waived unless you the sales associate gave me the idea?! It's a sad experience when you're treated differently when you're making purchases vs when you need support or need them to come through on what they said. I do appreciate the manager for stepping in and waiving one fee but you can guarantee these will be the last purchases we make with this store. I encourage y'all to take your business elsewhere too. I am not sure what the standards are in AT&T stores. There was no greeter, and a few of us queued to get signed in. I almost walked in and asked the lady in front of me to put my name down because she was holding an iPad, but realized she was also waiting to be signed in and not the greeter (not a single person acknowledge us for a good 3-5 minutes). I remember when I was working in retail this was a huge no-no! I think there were maybe 2 - 3 sales representatives total on the sales floor. I just needed help with my AT&T connected iPad as the SIM card read "sim failure". I expected a little wait, it's Sunday and it can be a process so I was ready to catch up on emails and browse the stores latest technology...Once the representative was ready to sign me in I recommended maybe we can pop my sim first to see if that will toggle the network and it did the trick. (I had just gotten back from a trip and didn't have a paper clip or back of an earring to do it myself DIY style...) Since it was a quick resolution, I figured I would get a few charging cables for my devices. Derrick, the associate was quick to help which I appreciate but it looked like he was doing everything. Helping me, signing people in, etc. I know the other associate was busy with guests herself. I must say though, they had a great deal on AT&T branded accessories which I discovered at check out. They are 50% off which is stellar, they are just as good as buying from the Apple Store (certified) but you get more bang for you buck (I avoid chargers outside of wireless provider or Apple Stores that can do more harm to your electronics). In turn, I was able to stock up on some Type C cables, 8ft at that! Only thing I realized when I got home though was that the purchase was not tied to my account. So I was sure to take a picture of the receipt in the event I need to warranty w/in the policy. I am a huge promoter of AT&T but the retail sales process seems to have taken a step backwards rather than innovating itself the way I'd expect AT&T to do so... I truly prefer in store connections when purchasing and dealing with my account as my experience with AT&T Customer Care (over the phone) has been more detrimental than anything...so I'd love to see stores & their team members really drive the in-person experience... read more

I spoke directly to the so called "manager" and told him I needed to cancel a line because the phone was stolen from me. He had zero knowledge about being able to cancel a phone line besides telling me to call customer service. When I told him I already did that and tried for 2 hours but kept getting the business plan side of customer service not the personal plan customer service he said "What number did you call?" and when I told him the number he said I was calling the wrong number and had the audacity to try to correct me saying "the customer service you need to call is the consumer loyalty it's not called personal" then when I asked what the correct number was he gave me the number I had already called that was taking me to business customer support . So to check all the boxes and give them no reason to say I haven't done it correctly I called the number again in store and it took me back to business customer support when I needed personal customer support then before helping in any way he disappeared hiding in the back room saying he had to make some calls. After that he reappeared once and when I explained further that the phone was stolen and I needed to cancel the line he told me to just keep waiting then disappeared again. He's a coward and was absolutely zero help in the situation. I ended up using the virtual assistant in the att app to cancel the line but this lame "manager" apparently didn't know that was an option and decided to waste my time for over half an hour after I had already tried to resolve the issue on my own for 2 hours and have me wait on the phone with someone from India when it took me less than 10 minutes to settle the matter on the app. This place is a joke!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!! You would think that as a manager he would have a direct line to corporate to settle things like this or at least be able to cancel a line in store and not have to speak to someone out of this country who doesn't understand how American phone plans work. Jose Becerra assisted us with the transfer which went fine, but was told about this FirstNet plan and was told to contact him about getting the plan changed. Called left voicemail. No response. Left a couple text messaged over the week with no response. Contacted customer service and they were helpful but knew absolutely nothing and was told it was done correctly, which it was not. Now on chat with an actual FirstNet knowledge and am now told it will not work. Complete waste of time. Overall visit to this ATT store, pretty bad. Disorganized and horrible service. As someone whose been in the wireless industry before, pretty bad for a service that charges an arm and leg. read more

I came here after an awful experience with Verizon. I've been with Verizon for 15 years and finally I've had enough of their surcharges. I didn't want to come into this store. My wife was at Jollibee nearby so I figured why not stop by AT&T. Samir greeted me and showed me around. He didn't pressure me into purchasing or switching over. I went out to AT&T store to get internet service for my house three weeks ago, the sales person name CARLA helped us. She was super nice and genuine, explained everything. She was telling me if I get directTV then I'll get $100 off on the services that I'll get, she told me there are no contracts on the directTV so I can cancel at anytime with no charges. I called in to customer service today to cancel the service because I discussed it with the family and no one have time to watch TV due to work. The representative said there is going to be an early cancellation, I was "like what do you mean, the person that sold me said there are not charges when cancel and no contract to the service that's why I got it!!" I made an appointment on the ATT website for Tuesday 5/2/2023 at 10AM. Showed up at the exact time and saw that the store is closed. The printed paper on the door mentioned the store opens at 11AM. No problem, came back after one hour at 11AM and talked to the lady at the front desk. Told her that I have appointment for 10AM but their store was closed but now I am here right at 11AM. She told me that there's nothing she can do as the appointment time is over, I have to do walk-in and then there's a 2 hour long wait time. I am like ok so why did ATT gave me appointment at 10AM but the store was closed at 10AM? Whose fault is that. She replied, in her own words: "It's not my fault either". Well then why the heck do you work for ATT then? Why are you even in customer service? ATT gives an appointment when the store is closed and so now I have to wait for two hours? Monday morning? GREAT time to hit up this store if looking for assistance. There were possibly more employees than customers although you still have to put your name on the list and wait for someone to approach you. No bother, someone came out quickly. As you can see from the picture, Jovanny came to the table where I was sitting and started checking out the apps installed on the older (but not ancient) Samsung S8. After not locating anything out of the ordinary, he explained how to reset the phone. So I took it back and did a soft reset. Went home, did a few more things and reset it again. In all, I think the phone is fixed and I'm quite satisfied with the AT&T store here. Didn't really expect them to fix it/tell me how to fix it without charging me an arm and a leg, yet I left the store with all four limbs intact! Piece of crap store. Does not bother to help military family. Went a month ago and gentleman was able to change the screen on my neighbors phone. Explained her husband is currently in the military and is main account holder. They were able to assist. Went back to store today since the 2 year old dropped the phone and the phone needs new screen protector. They were rude, did not want to change the screen Procter since my neighbors' husband is main account holder and he's not here. Told them they just changed it last month with same issue, now they said we need to contact the husband. You can't Contact somebody in the military besides writing a letter. The world is full of idiot employees nowadays. This is ridiculous, you just changed the screen protector last month with the husband being in the military and you were able to pull up the account. Today you don't wanna do it and give us the runaround. AT&T is a garbage company and does not support the American military. They were reluctant to call AT&T Business Office because - ?? when all I was doing was adding a line to an existing personal -which would essentially give them an upgrade sale and a new line (credit for their office). Instead of calling 611 from my phone, they wanted to scroll, push different selections - so i did it myself in less than 15min. So I drove to Fremont Hub store and gave them my personal upgrade, and personal line. These 2 do NOT belong in any type of customer facing role, cause frankly they would not "listen" - #1 skill to sell, and while I get - one needs to reach their numbers, one has to know that if you provide excellent customer service, sales comes with that with ease. AT&T - please TRAIN your people, especially management because he as a leader would cause his people to shadow him, and he couldn't get past that it was an Enterprise Account makes me wonder why he was so reluctant to call 611 like I did. My father went into the store early this week , he was treated poorly by the staff member : ARSALAN . My father is Hispanic and this worker continuously discriminated my father because of his English accent and continued to dismissed my father . He kept telling my father over and over he needed to speak English correctly & could not help him due to my father not understanding English ( meanwhile my younger brother who spoke English was there assisting ) , he messed up the purchase due to him "not understanding" . I went to this location on Sunday September 24, 2023 and I was helped by the most helpful AT &T representative. His name is Raheem. He was so patient with all my questions. He successfully answered my questions, which I Greatly Appreciated! I'm not the most tech savvy person, so it is a good feeling to be helped with kindness. I say that because I know it can be frustrating trying to assist someone that is not as tech inclined. Needless to say I left satisfied with the service. I would definitely return to Raheem to get further information on my plan options because I actually would like to make some changes. I couldn't get too into that information on this visit because I was so focused on getting the questions about my phone answered and I was focused on a billing matter I wanted to make sure I had taken care of. Plus I had another commitment to get to. I could only focus on a couple of things at a time, so when I need info about the plans, I need to only come in for that so I can focus on that and then make a better decision. 09/14/23 I walked in to this store requesting to switch my account from First Net back to AT&T (First Net is serviced by AT&T). I opted in for First Net about 2-3 years ago while they had a "promotion" for first responders during the pandemic. To summarize the story I was (I am rather) paying A LOT MORE than I should be and was hopeful they would be able to help me. When I requested this service to their representative name Raheem he looked at my sister and I and told us that the process takes between 1-2 hours and that the store would be closing at 8:00pm. Mind you I walked in at 7:05pm. He then proceeded to tell me to come back another day and they would be able to help me. I am baffled to say the least. Had scheduled an appointment to get 2 phones delivered at the same time. Woke up earlier on day of to find out that they had rescheduled one of the phones to a later time that day??? Which first of all doesn't make sense since it would make sense to drop them off at same time since same address....And second, such a last minute change, had to reschedule my activities that day just so can be home during that second time which was many hours later.
