Yesterday, I visited the AT&T Jordan Landing store while deciding whether to remain with AT&T or switch to another carrier. Initially, my experience was positive. An employee there was very helpful, answered my questions thoroughly, and even provided information I would need if I decided to switch providers. Although AT&T did not offer the same phone promotions as other companies, I was strongly considering staying with AT&T based on the customer service I received. Less than ten minutes later, after leaving the store and while discussing our decision with my husband, an unauthorized charge was added to my AT&T account without my consent: AT&T HomeTech Protection. At no point did I authorize this service. I was not informed of it, and I did not agree to any changes to my account. This appears to have been added after the employee assumed we were leaving AT&T--when, in fact, we were planning to stay. This behavior is unacceptable and deeply concerning. Customers trust AT&T employees with highly sensitive personal information, including addresses, payment details, and full access to their accounts. For an employee to use that access to add services without authorization is a serious breach of trust and raises questions about internal controls and ethical standards. As I read through reviews of this location, it appears this is not an isolated incident. That makes this even more troubling, particularly given that this is a corporate AT&T location, not a third-party kiosk. I will not do business with AT&T again. I will be contacting AT&T corporate as soon as the store opens to formally dispute the charge and file a complaint. I am also exploring what legal or regulatory remedies may be available regarding unauthorized account changes. AT&T should take this matter seriously and investigate immediately. This type of conduct should never be tolerated, excused, or ignored.

I am forever grateful that he was able to do that. Cricket doesn't have the best phone selections but for the price you can't beat it. If you do automatic payments they give you a small discount off your monthly bill.

This may save you taking a new phone home and trying to activate it, then finding it was flashed to Cricket, such as I did. It will also save you from having to call them, being told it can be flashed back, driving back to the store, being told it actually can not, after all, be flashed back and then having to go on the hunt for another phone. Look, mistakes happen and these are very nice people. This kind of mistake can easily happen, but this burned up an hour of my time and while they refunded the phone, I am out the time and the gas and the hassle. They seem pretty knowledgeable and try really hard to be good to work with, aside from that part. Their used phones are a bit more, but they are also generally in very nice condition also. Selection was arguably the best I found in about 5 stores today. They had a 4 star review going until then, but as it is, check them out. Just make sure the phone is checked before you leave the store, unless you live close and/or don't mind maybe going back.

The tech said they used new batteries, but that they sometimes got bad batteries from their supplier. So if the battery goes bad, return to the store and they will replace it. The battery failed after 1 week. I returned to the store to get it replaced. The tech opened the phone and said that it appeared that a used battery had been installed. So he installed a new battery per their guarantee. When I picked up my phone, the tech was showing me the battery box that my battery came from to indicate it was new. Right on the box was a big orange sticker that said RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization), clearly indicating that this battery had been returned to a supplier and was not new. The second battery failed within 2 weeks. Save yourself some money and find another vendor if you need a battery replacement.
