Was invited to try this place, and I love a good steamer. So I decided to try this place out. Very clean and atmosphere was good. They have a decent selection of items on their menu. I order the clams with corn and sausage...was delicious. Ordered the "hot" had a kick and had a great flavor. The clams were steamed to perfection with the sauce. ...my mouth exploded. Others tried different items. The wings were under cooked but had a great sauce to dip in. The shrimp and fries were fried to perfection. Had the coconut sticky rice w/ mangos. This was my first time ordering here, and I ordered for delivery through Uber Eats. Ordered the big combo, bbq rice, & melted butter! I was impressed with the speed of prep & when I got the order was thrilled with the amount of food! This combo is PERFECT to split between two people with a side for a light lunch or to indulge yourself in if you've got an appetite like me! They double bagged everything and it arrived hot, fresh, and looking bomb! The bbq fried rice was not overpowering which I enjoyed, and was fresh and tasty. Lots of green onions, love that too! The combo overall was fantastic. I got the works for the sauce with medium heat and I have to say this was probably THE BEST boil sauce I've ever had. I paid for peeled shrimp (it's easier and only +$2, just do it) and ordered extra sausage. I have to say that everything was cooked to perfection (shrimp, clams, muscle, crawfish, corn, & potatoes)...but I was soooo disappointed with the crab :( hence the loss of a star because it such an important aspect for a boil. Both the snow crab cluster and the king crab leg were so over cooked they were dry and nearly impossible to get out of the shell. When I finally did, everything came out shredded and flaky, not a single whole piece of juicy crab which was such a bummer. I was also surprised that they didn't provide any disposable cracking tools. I fortunately have one at home, but keep that in mind if ordering to-go or delivery at home. Overall, I was happy with the order and blown away by the sauce mix/spice combo. Delicious! The overcooked crab was unfortunate, but it happens. The first time I went to this restaurant was on my birthday a few weeks ago, it was a busy Saturday night and the ambiance was fun and the food was amazing. The service was a bit slow, but it was understandable because they were very busy. Today it was quite the opposite. Very slow, at one point we were the only family in there dining. The service was quick and they are very friendly. However I will say the food did not knock it out of the park, for the price I'm paying I expect to have the best experience. So when I kept finding these little tiny "pea crabs " in my mussels I was grossed out. I did some research after I got home and let me tell you..I won't be eating mussels again lol. The lemons I asked for were either old or frozen and the juice was dried out. Then at the end I didn't realize the gratuity was automatically added, so I ended up tipping twice. I told him I wanted to leave a cash tip, which was more than the suggested gratuity, just to find out that that was actually included in my total. We were only a party of 4 so I was shocked they added their own gratuity. Oh well, they got a $55 tip out of me, but I don't think I'll be returning. read more

The real issue is that it's such a small space and tall ceiling that it's extremely loud. You hear everything in the kitchen maximized and echos horribly. I have only tried the Shrimp/Clam Strip Po Boy and it was absolutely amazing. The creamy sauce had such a great complementary flavor and wasn't overpowering for the texture of the fried shrimp. I saw that they have a very extensive menu featuring a fusion of Thai and Creole dishes. It isn't anywhere near me or anywhere I normally go, but it is definitely worth the trip. Also, it seems smaller from the outside because it is in a little strip mall where the Maya Theater is, but it is very spacious inside with both booths and tables. read more

Went to this place for the first time yesterday, and will not s be returning. To say we were disappointed with the experience would be a huge understatement. My husband and I were in the mood for some fresh oysters, so we searched online and this place came up. After looking at the menu, we decided to give it a try. We arrived around 2:30 on Saturday afternoon. It was clean and casual, and smelled great, but beside one other party, it was empty. We soon saw why. There was only one person working the front, seemed to be the manager/owner. Told us to grab menus and sit wherever, then covered our table with clean paper. Cool. Got drinks, right away, and he took our order. First off, they don't offer ANY appetizers except for fresh oysters. No side salads, no calamari, shrimp cocktail, fried clams, no soups, nada. If you want any of these, you have to get a full dinner size which all start at around $16 for fried seafood (WITHOUT fries, which are an additional $3) and $15 for soups. We ordered a half dozen oysters, (which they said they didn't have), an oyster po' boy, and a fish-wich, both with fries. A full dinner salad was $9, and I didn't want that much since I was already getting a sandwich and fries. I asked if they had any side salads and he said no. So now no oysters, no appetizers. Bad start. Ambiance is non existent. No music playing, and 2 TVs on with no sound or closed captions. We should have left then, but we decided to just stay and give the food a try. Bad choice. After waiting at least 20 minutes with no food or vibes (it does NOT take that long to prepare fried seafood like this) the $18 oyster platter came and our jaws dropped, but not in a good way. There were six (6) TINY, fried to hell (to the point of being almost burnt) oysters in a red basket of Cajun fries (pic below), with some kind of sauce that was definitely NOT cocktail sauce it was red but tasted like bbq sauce mixed with sweet and sour sauce. It was not tasty. The tiny pieces of fried oyster did not taste fresh. My fish-wich came on a metal tray with fries and was at least a decent size. The fish was cooked ok, but overbattered, so combined with the "brioche" bun (that was obviously store bought, not fresh) the whole sandwich was super dry and flavorless. With the exception of a tiny slice of pickle and tiny slather of tartar sauce, there were no toppings, so I asked for extra tartar sauce to dip it in. I ended up only eating half and gave the other half to my husband since he basically only got a basket of fries instead of an oyster "platter". My fries were too salty, so I didn't eat them. The owner(s) should be ashamed. We spent $40 for an appetizer sized oyster basket, a super dry fish sandwich, a diet coke, and still left hungry and unsatisfied. We would have been better off going almost ANYWHERE else for the amount money we spent in relation to what we got. I can't speak to the value of the seaafood boils or curries, because we weren't willing to chance it, but I'm glad we didn't spend MORE in here). Long John Silver's would have been a better value, and I'm not exaggerating. The drinks are also unimpressive and overpriced for what you're getting. Will not be back here again, Don't waste your time. read more

First time going to At C fresh it was pretty dead in there we went in near this Saturday before Mother's Day. Food was good I ordered the biggest crab boil basket they had which included mussels clams shrimp crab legs one king crab leg crawfish. Pretty good size on the bucket was however 70 bucks. Which was cool for the price not cheap used to paying good money for seafood. We also ordered the crab fried rice and the biggest seafood plate on the menu. All of the food was tasty the fish on the fried platter was slightly undercooked on one and perfectly cooked on the other. The calamari that was fried had a couple pieces that were super chewy. And the crab fried rice seem to have a little if any crab at all but it was an additional 6 to 8 dollars for something that wasn't even physically able to notice in the fried rice. The boil bag was great the flavors were good plenty of crawfish mussels oysters but seem like they shorted me about a quarter pound of shrimp and substitute it with a quarter pound of crawfish. Luckily it was good enough I chose not to make a big deal over it. I chose to give this three stars because it was good and the service was great. The reason I didn't give it four stars was because I have a 10% service charge just for eating in the restaurant that was not disclosed to me when I sat down to eat. I usually give about 18 to 20% tip for good service but seeing a service charge just for sitting in there to eat was a complete turn off. I informed the owner about the service charge and told him I'll pay it but I want to add an additional tip because I thought that was just tacky it was only three of us sitting down and we spent over 130 bucks in the place I want to be charged just for eating there. Overall seeing that service charge pretty much run experience. But at C fresh is a good place to visit. go check them out. I'll probably come back if all of the other boil in a bag places in Bakersfield were closed. read more

When you ask for water, they bring out water bottles, without first asking if you want tap or bottled and charge you for them at the end of the meal. Got The Big Combo and was super salty. I did express that to the waiter but it sucked to pay that much for food that is overly seasoned and hard to eat. I did eat it given the fact I was paying so much for it but very disappointing.
