In 2007 I lived with my aunt in San Antonio for a summer and applied to be a part-time employee at Garden Ridge. Since they didn't want to hire me, I vowed never to venture to their store again. Well, At Home came to town, took over GR and frankly, I feel at home here. (heh) The store is incredibly packed with anything you could want for you house. Want 300 identical pillows for an outdoor patio? They've got them in inventory. It's a "no frills warehouse" My biggest complaint is the lack of staff for assisting customers and there's no guarantee that the things you see online will be there when you shop (and they don't sell online.) It's basically Overstock IRL, check it out. read more

Bought a rug and returned it w/tags still on and original receipt but they refused a refund or even store credit b/c they only refund up to 60 days after purchase. Was very upset about this ("M'am, it says it right on the receipt") and told them I'd be letting others online know and would not be back. While they do have a huge selection of many items that are somewhat reasonably priced, many items are overpriced and I've found items there more expensive than near identical items elsewhere and online. There are no signs on the floor indicating that people should stand 6 ft apart. There does not appear to be anyone wiping off the carts. And something I wanted to purchase had a tear in it, and when I asked about seeing if I could find another one, I was told to get back in the non-socially distancing line. I likely will not shop here again (Chantilly location), and the only reason I will go back is to return some of the items I purchased. read more

If you dig around long enough, you'll probably find something that you like & is reasonably priced. But that means searching through a very picked over, messy store. The quality of the items is also incredibly low for the high prices and don't even try with the furniture. Seriously the best customer service I have ever experienced. The products are relatively cheap and you get what you pay for but the customer service and the return policy is absolutely outstanding. The accessories look really cute and you don't have to spend a ton of money (Just don't expect to buy really high-end things.) We had a return and the store manager Al was fantastic. Later on we saw him pushing carts in the parking lot. (I have NEVER seen a store manager doing cart cleanup) Everyone who works there seems really happy. Great place. read more

I really like the merchandise carried in this store. The prices are reasonable. My pet peeve is that they are always understaffed. The wait line at the register is slways slow. Every visit I have witnessed frustrated shoppers just leaving their carts and walking out the door. until this improves you guys are losing a lot of money on a regular basis. read more

I never experienced a store closing an hour before the posted store hours of 10pm. I arrived AT HOME 3015 W. 86th St, Indianapolis, IN at 8:45pm on a Monday night looking for various items for my bedroom redesign. Before I could get down an aisle to start my search there was an announcement the store would be closing in 15mins. Since I just entered the store I wanted to know why the store was closing early and was told there was an emergency but I still had 15 mins. Anyone who has ever shopped here knows it takes you 15mins to get from one end of the store to the other end. All I can say is I hope the emergency was resolved and everything worked out ok. If the store has random closing hours they may not last. read more

I've purchased things from this store on 3 separate occasions in the last 3 years and all of it has broken apart in some way. My world atlas picture fell off the wall because the wood split where the wire hanger fixes to the frame and it came from the store "ready-to-hang" so it's not like I installed the wire wrong, it was already installed bybthe manufacturer. My 3 bar stools have all broken apart simply from sitting on it. One time was myself a fairly average sized man and again by a 5yr old that was simply sitting down to color. I threw the 3rd in the trash. My cooking utensils at this point have either snapped or separated from the handle and I purchased enough supplies to stock my whole kitchen. Ikea has better stuff and better prices. I'll drive the extra hour to get better made things. This store SUCKS! read more

Garden Ridge has gone under the Garden Bridge... What has happened to this place that used so have such awesome florals, paintings, frames, greeting cards, etc.? Nobody knows......my sorrow...... Walking in here now is like walking into something straight outta Compton (okay not really) but I do not want to see tables of questionable clothing and robes??? Then, when you go to the front to check out, I swear, there is a mile of all the "as seen on TV" products like the upside down tomato grower, the Sham WOWs, those gimmicky sandpaper shavers, Snuggies, bra-strap thingies, yadda, yadda, yadda. Yabba dabba do not go here. You will be so let down if you go here thinking of the wonderful place this once was.... This store is WEIRD. And AWESOME. Driving up to Garden Ridge feels like entering an alternate-reality, zombie-apocalypse land. The first six months I lived in Round Rock, I thought this place was out of business. The parking lot is full of potholes and overrun with weeds. The paint on the building is falling off in chunks. The entrances to the parking lot are not clearly marked, and the side doors of the store (which are not actual entrances) are covered in paper of some kind. It's absolutely eerie. The inside of the building is eerie, too, and leaky, as I found out today. There were 10-gallon buckets dotting the floors and shelves of the store, catching many drips after the big rain storm last night. Some of the merchandise I picked up was sopping wet. Ew. The prices here are great, though. And the selection is overwhelming and extremely varied. Suits of armor! Doctor and nurse scrubs! Holiday decor! The quality is not all good, but I like to switch up my home decor frequently, so I don't mind paying less for lesser quality goods that I can afford to change around. Finding an employee is almost impossible. I had to make two trips so that my husband could come with me to help lift some heavy items, because I could never find an employee to help me. I understand that not spending as much money on upkeep of the premises probably allows them to keep their prices lower. I don't mind shopping in a cold, warehouse-feeling environment. But the leaking ceilings are a bit much, and I bet they'd get a lot more business if the exterior of the building and the parking lots were better maintained. read more

I went into the AtHome store at 7667 shelby Street in Indianapolis today, in search of a floor lamp. I have done business with the AtHome store in Noblesville for years. I bought most of my home furnishings, paintings, rugs, decor there and Ioved that store. I have recently moved to Indianapolis and I needed to get new furniture for my new apartment on the south side of Indy. I went into the store at 7667 Shelby Street. When I went into the store, I grabbed a shopping cart with the intention of buying a floor lamp. Before shopping, I went into the men's room. I used the urinal in there and left. I began shopping and a very agitated man approached me and said, "You need to go back into that men's room and clean up your mess." Not knowing what he was talking about, I said, "What mess?" Well, the employee accused me of deliberately urinating on the floor of the men's room. Now, to offer some context, I am a 64-year-old man with macular degeneration. I have never been asked by a store employee to return to the restroom to "clean up a mess." So, I told the AtHome employee I would not return to the men's room to clean it up. Whatever happened in there was purely accidental and definitely not intentional. I simply wanted to continue my shopping, but the AtHome employee told me if I didn't clean his restroom, he was going to "throw me out" of HIS store. When I refused, he said, "You're not going to disrespect my store." He said, "You will leave immediately or I will call the polic on you." So, I left the store. I was flabbergasted about this whole experience. When I returned home, I was upset enough to call the AtHome store to complain to the manager. When I called the manager, he said he was aware of what happened and he said he wouldn't terminate the employee. I replied, I didn't want the employee terminated, I just wanted an apology. The manager said his employee told him that I'd deliberately urinated on the restroom floor. This was a complete lie and I told the manager it was a lie. The manager said, "What do you want me to do about it?" I said, nothing in my entire life has ever happened to me in a place of business. I asked the manager who he reported to. He said he reported to no one--he was the manager. I asked if he reported to a corporate office. He said yes, he did. He said corporate was in Plano, Texas. I asked the manager for the phone number of the corporate office. The manager refused. In fact, he refused to give me the number after I asked him twice. By now, I am flustered. I had maintained a civil, if terse, conversation and I felt I was being completely stone-walled. Finally, I asked the manager his name. In fact, I asked the manager to give his name three times and all three times he refused to provide me his name. Then, the manager hung up on me in mid-sentence. Now, I didn't curse at the manager or the employee. I only raised my voice when I was on the telephone with the manager and he kept refusing to give me his name. I have nevr, ever been evicted from a store in my life. I have never, ever been in any store which threatened to call the police on me for making a mess in a restroom. This whole adventure was completely ridiculous. I did contact the corporate office by email (the phone listed to contact AtHome corporate went unanswered, and a voicemail directed me to contact AtHome online. So I completed my complaint online. AtHome will no longer receive my business. And I will make it my business to air this complaint on every review or rating apparatus I can find with regard to AtHome. read more

I come here to find 50% off treasures all the time. Am I glad I have had a Tetanus shot in the last 10 years when I push the carts? Yes, they are rust wagons, that isn't an over exaggeration. This is my after Christmas go to place as well, everything can be had for CHEAP. I now can say I am the proud owner of 2 inflatable blow ups, one beach Santa and one dancing snowman, and 3 fake trees. All bought for pennies on the dollar after Christmas. For cheap,and decent things for the home I will continue to shop here. Do they have more than one worker here? I love me a bargain and I had seen some ads for sales they had going on so I decided to go check them out. The place is chaotic and kind of poorly laid out, but to me it made the experience that much better, treasure hunting. I was probably wandering around this place for about 4 hours. A store that can keep me entertained for that long is good in my book. They've got all sorts of home decor/furniture, gardening stuff, silk plants and well, stuff. I spent about an hour and a half in the silk plant area just playing around. Some of the prices on things were awesome, then you'd turn around and see something completely overpriced. Again, treasure hunting. This place was packed with people, it was great and I usually hate being in over packed stores, but it was well balanced here. I came out with 2 pillows for my new sofa for $10 a piece and they are nice...love them, haven't seen any others comparable any where else.A beautiful, tall wooden vase for $19, a 4 ft abstract leaf wall decor piece for $18 and some silk plants (so my cats wont trash them) for $10. WORST customer service/return policy EVER!!!!!!!!!! I have 3 pillows new with Garden ridge tags attached I purchased one week ago that they will not let me exchange. Yes, the cleaners threw out the receipt, yes I dug through my outdoor stinky trash and the whole house first, and yes I pulled up/printed the credit Card transaction as proof from a week ago and they still will not let me exchange them for different pillows (2 don't match, one has a stain). I'm not asking for my money back! Just a perfectly even exchange. So. They would rather loose a customer who has spent 100's of dollars there?? And wanted to buy more items today? We built two up-scale cabins on our ranch. Needed 2'x4' to 3'x5' mirrors for above the vanities. Called glass companies: $70 - $125 / mirror -- and I'd still need picture frame molding and stain or paint. At Home had a HUGE selection of mirrors, already framed, and theirs had BEVELED glass -- and they were cheaper to boot! This store is awesome. We'll definitely be back. They also had excellent mattresses at great prices -- just wish the two we wanted had been in stock. At least we know where to go next time. read more

I found some clear plastic organizers at a reasonable price that I couldn't find elsewhere. But here was a plastic organizer that I wanted to buy another set. That's when I discovered their on-line site is not trust-worthy. I placed the order (store pick up) and never received the order number. It immediately charged my credit card. The good thing is that I don't get charged until I actually pick it up. I called Customer Service right away and they did not see my order. They also are limited to seeing orders only for their specific location, which caused me to call another location to see if my order was in their system. I ended going back on-line and found a different plastic organizer which their location showed in stock. Went to the store, scoured all the aisles. After a time-consuming search, lo and behold, I found the organizer which I had originally wanted but the site had showed not available for store pick up. If I had ordered this organizer on-line, it would have cost me an additional $10.95, but there it was, hidden away on a shelf. My point is that their system should have showed they had one in stock. I will continue to shop there and will use their site for product information. I will not order on-line. read more

I normally love to go to the at home store. There are a lot of things I love about the store. However, we drive quite a distance to get there and then I purchased a $100 rug, got it home and it was so messed up in many places. It actually look like it was torn and restitched. It looked awful. Make sure if you buy a rug you open it up and look at it before taking it home so very disappointed. Now I need to take a half a day and pay to fill my gas tank up again and take it back because they told me if I go through customer care it could take up to 3 months to resolve.Ugh! read more

Used to visit this store when it was called *garden ridge * sometimes it was frustrating to find a human when you needed help don't know if it just changed its name or was bought out but when we visited it last week it was different the service was top notch, we found on the internet a 20% off coupon for this store and as it happened we were looking for bar stools for our kitchen at the time the store is huge the furniture is way at the back such a long way to walk i almost hired a cab to take us there (just kidding ) could 'nt find the model we were looking for and a staff member offered to help us ,having searched the dept looking in all the rows top and bottom stacked with similar items and having no success she called a manager. he said would we mind waiting a few while he entered the # on his phone to see if they had any in the storage area answer no, so he asked if we had a alternative model we would like to purchase. found that but it was not the same price just a little higher we did not have a * at home* charge card at the time so the suggestion was we got one and he could give a 25 % discount on the items. agreed since we were about to pay cash anyway the idea of taking them home and paying of the card when the invoice arrived in a few weeks seemed a good move:-) another manager came over , he and the original staff member got a cart and presented us with six of the items since the cushion on there chairs varies slight they asked us to pick the ones we liked if we were not satisfied they would go and find some more we picked 3.. now we have 2 managers and another store employee helping us.. we went to the check out area which had customers waiting where the mag immediatly opened up another line and proceeded to check us out given the full 25 % discount on all 3 stools. the manager even bothered to line the car with paper when loading the items for us , we felt like special customers having 3 of the staff spending nearly a hour taking care of us and always with a smile . excellent service , good prices, and caring for the customer gives them a 5 star rating we will be back .. read more

Lots of random stuff. Great selection and often you can find great prices, but a lot of their stuff seems questionable in quality, especially for the price. I often like a lot of what they have to offer, but doubt how long it will hold up and don't often buy a ton of stuff because its extremely expensive. But you can certainly find really low, bargin price items as well, especially if you aren't needing it for long, or if you get lucky and catch a good sale. What's the point of offering online shopping if 95% of the products advertised are only available in store. The closest store is over 45 minutes from me, and it is very upsetting to have to make a trip all the way out there and return home with nothing due to the products being a higher price than advertised online, not available at all even though it says it is in stock online, or unable to be found because the store is so haphazardly stocked. I would be willing to purchase online and make the trip to pick up in store, but the website doesn't even give you that option. read more

Purchased two collage picture frames for a graduation party display from Brick NJ. Upon returning home we removed the protective wrap and cardboard to find one frame badly damaged. A few days later returned to the store to exchange but no longer in stock. Requested item to be shipped to us. The associate stated they do not do that and we would have to purchase from another store. To make things worse the nearest store with the item in stock was 52 miles away. I argued the item should be shipped at no charge due to the broken item. I also stated that this was 3rd time we had to return an item purchased and found damaged after opening in the past year. Associate states sorry but that's company policy. I asked to speak with the manager. He was very matter-of-fact and a little condescending with our concern/complaint. He stated our only options were to drive to Cherry Hill or try to find it online but we would have to pay to ship. I stated, the shipping should be free since we were already out the cost of returning to this store that is 18 miles from our home. The manager could care less and told us that was our only option. I told him that's not how you retain customers. The manager replied that's your opinion, sir. I requested a refund for the broken frame. Went home found the frame on the store site and ordered the same paying an additional shipping fee. If I had the other frame with me I would have returned both and purchase similar from a competitor. I just have to say: if, let's say, you are looking to put together a batch of Newlywed Ornaments for a new bride, THIS is THE place to go. (Except for a rabbit ornament, but gosh darn it -- well, that's another rant. And sure, you could hit up the Christmas Store at Highland Village or 51st/I-35 -- but hunting is so much more fun!) And, I know, how much more specific can you be -- but if you're looking up Garden Ridge on Yelp anyway, maybe you need as much help as the reviewer focusing on ornaments at GR. But seriously -- they have crazy aisles of ornaments. I mean, not gazillions (exactly), but -- i could have made this set in PINK, if I were so inclined, given their inventory. And then I got sucked into looking at their uber-cheap wall art, and couches/furniture and mirrors, and pretty boxes... At the GR actually located in round rock, we got my hubby's Scooby Doo costume for dirt cheap. We have used it 3 times since it's purchase, it rocks :D Go, Garden Ridge, for crafts, home decor, wrapping paper, and (duh) Christmas ornaments. ESPECIALLY pretty pink ones. read more

Love what they have here but so disappointed in their prices and lack of sales. Went here on Black Friday looking for a lot of Christmas decor and left empty handed because none of it was on sale. Immediately left to go to Hobby Lobby. I'm a bargain shopper and I at least need to be fooled into thinking I'm getting a good deal. So I'm driving down the highway with a friend and I see this giant department store-sized complex that's painted orange and looks something like a Home Depot. I beg my friend to stop and after a few halfhearted eye-rolls, she allows me to turn in. Thank god we did. I am a huge fan of Garden Ridge on 290 West, a giant warehouse full of random items for the home at very good prices. Started in San Antonio in 1979, they have stores in 13 states now, but you don't get that corporate chain feel when you walk in the place. At first sight, Garden Ridge is a bit confusing...what exactly is it? Walk down one aisle for bulk candy, the next for patio lights, and yet another for silk flowers. The store is Costco meets Michael's meets Target with a touch of your local hometown arts/crafts/hardware/department store feel. Cheap patio furniture, dozens and dozens of linens, and a very respectable selection of reasonably priced rugs. Add to that a massive selection of picture frames and framed art and a random section of paper products for parties. This is strange, but it reminds me of playing Candyland...there are so many fun and different stops! There's even a section of living room chairs piled high...smack dab in the middle of the store where shoppers frequently take a rest from the overwhelming supply of discount home decor. Other than the rusty shopping carts and some beaten up packaged items, this Garden Ridge is not half bad. I've gone here to find cheap things for theatre jobs. For instance, the floral section is a vast jungle of silk plants and plastic limbs- and at decent prices to boot. 6 months out of the year, it is Christmas time and you will find half the store flooded with Santas and ornaments in every shape and size. There is a nice section for kitchen/dining room goods I like to check out every so often. Jam packed with goodies. Need to complete your diner look for your kitchen? Come on down. Rugs, chairs, mattresses, books, luggage, bedding, bathroom stuff, random art, trunks, tables, coat racks, mirrors, trash cans -whatever you want- it is probably there. The prices are actually very cheap here. I mean, like super cheap. Like packs of 4 steak knives for under $3 and no limit as to how many packages you can pick up. Or like area rugs with designs on them for $30-50. Or, "Hey, my kitchen table needs some decent-looking sturdy, non-particle board chairs for $30-50." Or maybe you just need to get gifts for a lot of people and don't want to go a lot of places or spend too much money. Yep. This is your place. I purchased an outdoor metal glider the middle of February and within a month and a half it started to rust. I emailed the company over 30 days ago (because I'm am past the return date) and never received a reply. The glider was $149. Not only has it rusted but the rust stained my deck!!!
