This place has potential! Very bright, well setup location. Higher end cutlery, bathroom clean and nicely decorated. Toilet seat in the ladies room even has a fold down smaller seat for kids, which I had never seen before! Menu choices are good. Service was slow, but the waitress was personable and helpful. Food was good. I had the Creole shrimp and grits which (while tasty) didn't exactly meet my expectations. The shrimp were big and nicely cooked, but not much creole seasoning. The grits were bland in and of themselves, totally dependent on the cheese and sauce (which was more like a Frank's hot sauce (but not real spicy) instead of what I would expect for Creole. Menu called it BBQ (which it also wasn't.) But not bad, I did clean my plate! My husband had eggs, potatoes, bacon and pancakes which he said were good. Not spectacular, but regular, steady breakfast fare. A little pricey, but then again, everything is these days, so not unexpected. I was looking forward to supporting a local business especially because it is 2 minutes from our house. We waited 35 minutes for our food which came out luke warm and not very good. This new brunch spot is worth the wait! We were greeted by friendly faces and sat quickly (we called first). We had a bigger group so got a few items and shared them. The crab cake Benedict was outstanding! We also ordered Cajun fried green tomatoes, a slinger (huge!), and French toast with marscepone and berries. They were all fantastic. I know this place just opened, and I am trying to give it a benefit of a doubt. Our experience was horrible! I ordered 2 eggs over medium, Home Fries (This would have been special since the old sunrise restaurant that I use to visit weekly closed down) with Cheese, Bacon, and White Toast. When the order came out, I received Scrambled eggs that were dry, French Fries with cheese (WTF), Bacon, and Wheat Toast. I told the server that this is not what I ordered, and she told me like it was no big deal that they ran out of food. I would like to give the new owners a tip, if you do not have the food that a customer ordered then at least have the courtesy to let them opt out of eating at your restaurant or cover the mistakes on the bill. I felt trapped and they did not even discount my bill one cent. I had a friend with me, and she didn't receive what she ordered as well but hers was way worse than mine. Wow, what a colossal disappointment. My wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time at 11:00am on a Monday. After waiting by the front door for awhile, we asked the bus boy if it was self-seating. He shrugged and mumbled "sure". 10 minutes later, a server took our drink and meal orders. 45 minutes later, after I inquired about our order, the server returned to our table to inform us that the kitchen had run out of one item in our order. 55 minutes of waiting and we were informed that they had run out of potatoes. The food was good however, my wife's French toast was served first and she was almost finished with her breakfast by the time my Mastodon Deviled Eggs Benny was served to me. There's no excuse for that. My wife's only complaint about the food was the Maple Syrup which she didn't care for and no butter was served with the French Toast. We also found the dining chairs to be very uncomfortable to sit in. We won't be returning. read more

A little slice of heaven just came to Imperial Missouri. There is a little bit of everything when it come to the menu. They have snazzy bacon which you can describe as candy bacon.....it just melt in your mouth.They have selected items that they only serve on Saturday and Sunday. I'm giving At Sunrise a 5 star rating because I see what it will be! And I'm THRILLED to have a new restaurant option in Imperial next to my home. At Sunrise just opened and it is very evident that they are working hard to establish all that a successful restaurant requires...an experienced wait staff to care for an ongoing full house, the ability to meet the expectations from what will soon be regular customers and freshly prepared, timely meals to name a few...all of which will happen as we, the new customers, are patient and grace-filled as we allow them to work through the kinks of a new business. The staff was so conscientious and kind...from the person answering the phone for my inquiry on wait time, to the person taking my name when I arrived (telling me our table would be ready in 20 minutes, directing me to the adorable yellow couch while bringing me a fresh cup of hot coffee to sip on while I waited), to our gracious server and a hello from the owner. My 3 egg omelet was hot and yummy and my fresh squeezed OJ very refreshing and wonderful! My three girlfriends and I loved our Saturday morning time together in our quiet corner table as we laughed and caught up on each other's lives. The place is small and jammed pack with tables- hard to maneuver in there. The waitress we had sat us down and never came back to get our order. She hid in the kitchen so we weren't even able to get her attention if we wanted to. We tried getting another waitress's attention, and after the third time, she finally acknowledged me and my husband. She asked if our order has been taken and we said no. We let her know what our waitress looked like because she didn't even give us her name when she first sat us down. Waitress came out and gave us a lame excuse of "someone else was supposed to get our table". She took our order and we didn't see her again until the end when we needed our check- she hid out in the kitchen again, the whole time. There were 2 waitress's that had tables around us. We would try to get their attention for refills, but again, no one would acknowledge us. It basically felt like, "not my table, not my problem". The wait for the food was well over 45 minutes and it was just me and my husband. The people next to us said that they were already waiting over 50 minutes for their food to come out. You would think after waiting for so long, that the food would outweigh the bad we had experienced thus far. That was not the case. My french toast was burnt, yet soggy. The eggs were tasteless. My husbands biscuits and gravy were not hot and over salted. When we went to pay, it was the same scenario with the other waitress's- not our customer, not my problem. We had to wait for someone to eventually cash us out. We are disappointed in this place. We always give restaurants a second shot, but this experience was so terrible, we won't be returning again. read more

I decided to give this place a chance even after I saw the owner at a medical facility show up 30 mins past her appointment and yell at the staff and demand to be seen. Said loudly "that little white girl has an attitude problem" Fast forward- my friend and I show up there- there is a server storming out crying and quitting- we wait to be acknowledged- a girl cleaned us a seat at the tiny bar in the corner. Gave us our mimosas and they were out of several things. The server was weirdly bragging about her boss. I've been a server/ bartender- I asked if she knew the woman since this place just opened. She said "No, we were told to say that." Then the owner "Dr." Secil (she is not a Dr only a FNP) look it up on the NPI registry, paraded around in a Kentucky derby dress and her Gucci purse around her like she was in a fashion show. It was completely ridiculous. She bragged about herself the entire time. The food was just okay- but knowing this woman was putting on a show after her being so rude to another local business- I refuse to go again. A few weeks after this I saw her in a Netflix documentary about a man in Webster groves (her baby daddy) who murdered a man that was molesting him and other boys- she defended the predator. It was absolutely sick. This woman is a liar and is only out for herself. Please don't support this person or her business. read more
