Matzaball soup and smoked club sandwich!
Cindy S.

The Posh Nosh (off Maryland in Clayton). So quaint. The workers let me try a soup which I thought was awesome! Sandwich - Smoked club - ham, bacon, turkey and smoked Gouda!! The bread was soft and the flavors blended well. I highly recommend the sandwich! The Matzaball soup was perfectly light and complimented the sandwich. This is a must try place!

The only thing better than my sandwich is the staff! I ordered the Ruben and it was possibly the best Ruben I've had! So good that I had to let everyone know :) the bread was perfectly toasted & the sandwich overall was filling but light! I ate it all (which is rare for me, I usually can only finish half) but that's how good is was! I also had the Lemonade with "light" ice and it was perfectly balanced, not too sweet nor too tart! Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu!

My friends and I stumbled into this place hungry af. They recommended some delicious sandwiches. Honestly best pastrami I've ever had. And great chip options to accompany the food. The staff had amazing energy, overall such a dope vibe. Highly recommend if you're wanting a satisfying meal with excellent customer service. I'm a Nosher now! I'll stop by anytime I'm in the area now. Ps. I was so captivated by the food and energy of this place that i forgot to take a picture of the food.

Horrible service, place and food. Definitely would not recommend, you pay extra for the darn cheese and they don't put any on. This is the most blandest, messiest, driest, thing put together. I want a refund can't even eat this mess!

Just stopped in for a late lunch last week, the place was empty! With a capital E! I ordered the Claytonian sandwich and a side of potato salad with a Dr. Browns celray. Perfection. I started chatting with the ladies behind the counter. They are seriously concerned for the business. Since all of the office buildings across the street are empty, they are really struggling! While I was there 1 guy came in to pick up a Grub hub order. No one else. My lunch was great as always!!! So if out and about, stop in and give these guys some business!

I am eating a Pastrami sandwich. .the review coming soon.

I was greeted as soon as I entered. Very quaint establishment: I KNOW the name of the place says "grocer", but I was still under the impression that this was a sandwich shop and it's not. Blame my hunger, ok??? It is a grocery store, and a small one at that. I head to the back to the deli and the butcher was super helpful with answering ALL my questions. Learned more about how everything works and more. All sandwiches are pre made and once they sell out, they're gone. There was a turkey sandwich and a roast beef one left. I opted for the turkey sandwich, asked for a side of remoulade sauce that's originally used for the shrimp po boy I believe. I bought a bag of chips to go with it. Total was about $15. The sandwich was delicious. LOADED with turkey and arugula it had a dill spread on it, and it was also sooo good. the remoulade helped give it more flavor and kick. All I needed was some onion slices (tear) I will definitely be back.

Looking at their menu I was sold immediately and knew that this place was going to be good. They carried such a variety of sandwiches and burgers, and even salads too. None of them sounded basic or boring to me. Way better than Subway or Jimmy John. I ordered through the app and my order was ready within 20 minutes. They have a big outdoor area with benches so that you can enjoy your meal when it's the weather is nice. However, there are decent numbers of seatings inside as well. I ordered the Black and Blue, the Animal and the Mango Tango salad. I liked that you can customize your order to whatever it is that you prefer like substitutes or sauce on the side. The price is reasonable in my opinion. I liked the Animal a lot. The sour dough was crunchy and toasted. The grilled chicken was a little dry but I didn't mind it. I liked the cream cheese a lot. The flavor was amazing. The Black and blue wasn't what I expected but the blue cheese sauce was a nice touch. Mango tango salad was a vegetarian option but you can add protein if you want. The candied pecans were my favorite part. I also liked that they used fresh mangos. The dressing was tangy and sweet. I highly recommend you checking out this place. I'm going back again for sure.

Coming to St. Louis for work, the first day I was in the office my team went out to lunch and…read moretouted Pastaria Deli & Wine. This was so good; we came here the whole week we were in St. Louis for lunch! The office I was working in was on the same block as Pastaria Deli & Wine, so a less than five-minute walk from the office, so no driving or need to hail an Uber was awesome. Inside there are wine bottles all over the walls and it just has this cozy, Italian café/deli vibe. Depending on when you get there, the line to the cash register can snake out the door, but it moves pretty fast. There's a surprising number of tables inside and since the weather was nice, there were several tables out in front. Each day, we had the same cashier, Carly (I believe that's her name). Carly was incredibly bubbly, cute, fun! Once we placed our order, we received a metal tag with a number on it and found a table. I didn't order any sort of specialty drink; I took advantage of the free water located near the back of the restaurant. The time from when we placed our order to getting our lunch was pretty quick, even when the place was packed for lunch. So for the three days I was in St. Louis, I ordered these three sandwiches: 1. Il Capo Italiano: Lemon ricotta, mortadella, soppressata, mozzarella, giardiniera, salted potato chips (Miss Vickie's most likely), arugula, red wine vinegar, & extra virgin olive oil on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - A jam-packed sandwich! The lemon ricotta was amazing and the crunch from the salted potato chips was excellent. Beware that this sandwich is heavy on the oils, so be prepared to "wear" this sandwich the rest of the day unless you brought your toothbrush. haha This sandwich was plenty thick, the slices of mozzarella really helped to make this sandwich thick and filling. 2. Volpi Heritage Prosciutto: Volpi Heritage prosciutto, butter, lemon olive oil, & house-made giardiniera on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - The lemon olive oil was a very pleasant flavor, not too strong. Of the three sandwiches I ordered, this was the smallest in terms of fillings but it was still plenty filling for lunch with a bag of Miss Vicky's Spicy Dill Pickle chips! 3. Chicken Bacon Ranch: Thin sliced chicken breast, bacon, smoked cheddar cheese, tomato, arugula, banana peppers, & jalapeno-ricotta ranch on a 6.5" Union Loafers Hoagie - The sliced chicken breast was piled on thick and the bacon was a welcome addition. There was plenty arugula and banana peppers inside but the jalapeno-ricotta ranch elevated this! Creamy with a slight spicy kick to it. I didn't have one bad meal here and for the quality and quantity, I felt the prices were pretty reasonable, especially in the year 2026. Pastaria Deli & Wine is an awesome lunch spot! The friendly staff, cool, authentic Italian-vibes, fast service, and the quality food, it comes together here! I can't wait to come back through St. Louis for work and stop in here again for lunch, maybe I'll even treat myself to some of their gelato!

However, we soon discovered the restaurant was short staffed and servers were in the deep weeds. It took a very long time to order water and drinks and an equally long time to receive them. In fact, we were very close to leaving, which is saying a lot since I've worked in restaurants for years. But this is not a negative review. As those who know, know....5 Star's kitchen crew saved the day by jumping right on our food order and getting us served quickly. Lynne enjoyed the always delicious Blue Ribbon burger...think gorganzola, bacon and port braised onions (aaahhh, sorry, I may have drooled a bit there). I tried the Burger-Of-The-Month, which was not actually a burger, but a sandwich And not just any sandwich, a classic Rueben.
