The parking lot in front isn't huge, but if you can handle stairs, there's more parking in back, just follow the sign. A note on the door pointed out a $2 surcharge on all dishes that included eggs (fair!). I was greeted immediately after walking in and told to choose my seat (there's a sign that says wait to be seated, but it was a weekday and there was only one group in there). The server brought me a menu and took my drink order right away. She was willing to take my food order quickly, too, but I let her know I'd be camping out, so she gave me time to settle in and enjoy my coffee. There's music juuust loud enough to be recognizable if you're not talking to someone. That's perfect, I don't like loud music you have to shout over. The cowboy Benedict HIT THE SPOT. And the sunny side up eggs were perfectly runny. In a combined dish like this, some restaurants will load up on potatoes or biscuits for volume... but the steak was the star of the show portion wise, and there was a nice complement of the rest. The bathroom looked well scrubbed, BUT there was buildup around the faucet base... like they obviously keep the high touch areas clean, but it could use a scrape and a new layer of caulk. I didn't have any complaints. Good food. Good coffee. Great service, with perfectly timed refills. Not a bad price. Overall, a nice quiet place to have breakfast and read my book until my kid finished his class at JeffCo. I'll likely be back when I'm in town again. read more

We went in after 11 a.m. After waiting a few minutes to get a menu and finally getting to place an order I asked to order a hamburger and was told " I can't let you do that since everyone else in here ordered breakfast. Three of us went there for lunch. I ordered the Chicken Florentine Flatbread. Oh my! So delicious and so much I shared, then still took some home for dinner. I really hope this place makes it! I truly do. We had been to his previous place a few times and really wanted to try this new location. It's small, but I think it's the right size for what they are. We had the cowboy burger and the French dip with the toasted ravioli appetizer. All of is was just OK. As I see it, the issues are: the "manager" Amy has no real restaurant management skills. She doesn't have the engaging personality nor the mindset to keep the front of the house running as smoothly as it should. Secondly, I know having additional help means additional overhead, but one man (the chef/owner) in the kitchen means the food doesn't come out in a timely manner. The place will have to find a rhythm and pick up the pace if it's going to succeed. Lastly, the menu is too broad. Do fewer things and do them extremely well. That's what will bring success. As an update to my previous review: we went back last week to give a second chance. This time I decided to try an appetizer and the fried pickles were fantastic. And they came in such a huge portion that I had to take some home. I also got the catfish platter which was delicious. Unfortunately the service left something to be desired. We were told to "sit wherever" so we sat at a four top table in the restaurant that only had one other table seated currently. A woman then came out to tell us we needed to move to a two top to accommodate other groups. Even though no one else was coming in at the time. So we moved, ordered, got our food, ate, and paid before anyone else even came in. During the last 5 minutes before we walked out, a couple who knew the woman who told us to move came in and sat at the exact table we were told to move from and were greeted with hugs. Such great food and the people are amazing but holy cow these wait times! Wednesday is very busy so i dont mind a little wait but God we got here at 5:50 and its now 7 and no food. Took more than 10min to get our drinks and 30 min for the salads. This is my favorite place to eat but the wait time is ruining it. Its almost always a more than 35mim wait for food. Add to this. We have visit this place twice. The first time it was really good. The second time we went. There was two young ladies behind the counter. One was on the phone the other was walking back and forth laughing. She kept looking at us but not one time come over and give us menus. I would say 3.5 The the food is usually very good. I have never eaten fried pickles like that before they are the bomb my husband and I get them every time. This week I tried the special which was potato soup and grilled cheese. I asked for extra cheese on my sandwich and thank goodness I did because it still was not very much and the soup was warm not hot. The service is top-notch waitresses are always friendly and the tables are always clean. I look for them to expand they're building because they are able to handle more clientele. We were leary when we walked as there wasn't anyone there at 12:30 on a Wednesday and it had a musty smell inside...but the service was good and the old was excellent and super affordable!
