Bought the Groupon for 10 classes and was very pleased until on our 6th class the owners wife was…read moreso inappropriate she literally tells me in front of my seven year old that if I don't take him twice a week I might as well not come back. Who does this?! She tried to lie and tell me I had to use the classes within eight weeks- she was unhappy that I was bringing my son once a week and clearly literally wanted me to blow through the classes as fast as possible to put more money in their pockets instead of Groupon. I actually had a very polite response because of the type of person I am. I explained to her & showed her there is absolutely no details in the Groupon that says I have to use the classes within 8 weeks and as a Business owner myself I would recommend her changing this on groupon. I also told her because of this, I was entitled to a refund since I obviously did not and would not be receiving the services I was promised. My son attended 6 out of 10 classes & I paid for 10. When I showed her the Groupon she knew I had caught her in a lie because I had! Even after I had to explain to her that my busy & demanding schedule doesn't allow for me to commit to come twice a week -she continued by telling me that my son would receive no benefit of attending their classes once weekly and literally said to me more than once I might as well not come back if I can't come twice a week. The entire conversation on her behalf was inappropriate to have in front of my son. I felt pressured and completely uncomfortable. I was able to receive a full refund from Groupon as their customer service is outstanding and the representative fully understood my concerns! There are plenty of places to take your children for karate that offer once a week classes. My son left upset with ME & her about not being able to come back!! She literally made me the villain in the story in front of my son that is unbelievably cruel! I believe her husband, the instructor was one of the best I've seen- very kind and had a wonderful approach with the children although his wife completely lost my business! I attached the Groupon information so everyone can clearly see there is nothing in here that says if I buy 10 classes I must use them within 8 weeks!

On Saturday (Feb 11, 2023), I left my 6 yrs old son for parents night out at Iron Dragon Martial…read moreArt ( from 6-9pm). It was our first time leaving him there without me or his mom. When we picked him up and went home, my son informed me that one of the instructor (male-adult) was not nice to him and ask him to go back in line and lose his turn. When my son refused to do so. The instructor got angry and physically hurt my son which he pinched my son so hard from his side that made my son cry so hard and loudly. My son start screaming for help. Everybody in there heard him. The owner(Luis) told my son to go sit out for not following the rules and for refusing to listen to the instructor. My son told him the instructor hurt him but Mr. Luis said "even if the instructor hurt you, you still going to sit out for behaving this way". I cant believe they have no mercy toward a 6 yrs old child. After that my son was left alone crying at the waiting room and not allowed to join the team for a period of time. I immediately called the place and asked them to talk to Mr. luis (owner) in order to understand the situation. He was the one who answered the phone. He didn't apologized and didn't want to believe me. He said he was not there at that moment. But he told me, I can come tomorrow to review the cameras with him. He told me " We have cameras everywhere". So, I believed him and went the second day but I got informed by the same person (Luis) that all cameras were not working for that night. And because my son said that, he got terminated from this school. I feel so bad we trusted them and left our son with them. I cant believe a grown up man can do that to a child. I am extremely disappointed by the owner and his wife for removing the evidence just to cover up for the instructor which i believe he is a family member. I wish no parent has to go through this. Our children are the most important thing in our life. Please, be extra careful when you leave your children at this place or with anybody else. We can't trust nobody anymore. I do not recommend this place to anybody. They are not trust worthy.

I would recommend Iron dragon to anyone looking to start their kids in a martial arts program. The seating is a little dated and you have to bring a water bottle to every class but it's totally worth the trouble!

If your goal in martial arts training is real-world self-defense, discipline under pressure, and…read morethe ability to apply techniques against a live opponent, you may want to carefully reconsider this school. My experience with IntoArts has been extremely disappointing. The program appears to focus heavily on going through motions and earning belts, but lacks meaningful opportunities for students to apply what they've learned in realistic or full-contact situations. Punching bags and rehearsed drills do not prepare anyone for unpredictability, resistance, or real-world encounters. A system that promotes students to higher ranks--up to black belt--without pressure testing their skills raises serious concerns about the value of that training. If, however, your goal is optics--collecting belts, certificates, and staged accomplishments without true application--then this may be a good fit. Beyond the curriculum concerns, the leadership approach is equally troubling. The owner seems to spend a disproportionate amount of time sharing stories from past experiences or correcting children, rather than delivering structured, engaged instruction that develops students. Constructive coaching and development appear secondary. More concerning is how situations are handled when questioned. When I raised concerns as a father--calmly and directly--regarding decisions that impacted my child, the response was not professional dialogue. Instead, my child was abruptly removed from the roster, and the situation escalated unnecessarily to the point where law enforcement was contacted. That level of escalation for a non-threatening parental concern is, at best, poor judgment and, at worst, deeply troubling. As a parent, my responsibility is to advocate for my child--especially when those decisions affect his development and well-being. The way this situation was handled reflects a lack of professionalism, accountability, and sound leadership. In short: * Limited real-world application of skills * Promotion without proof of performance under pressure * Questionable instructional priorities * Unprofessional handling of parent concerns Martial arts should build confidence, discipline, and capability--not just appearance. Based on my experience, this program falls short in delivering where it matters most.

I've been training there now for close to 2 years and love it. In Master Lawing you will find a seasoned, expert instructor who will train in the fundamentals of your art, provide motivation, and share accumulated wisdom from his decades of experience running martial arts schools. In addition to fundamental mastery, students will find ample opportunity to train in realistic self defense scenarios and fill in gaps with other forms of martial arts. When ready, students also can engage in either light- or full-contact sparring (with protective gear) in a controlled and safe environment. There is a real sense of family and community at this school. I would also like to say that there is one negative review here that makes several claims that I have simply found not to be true, at all.
