Seems to be very popular in Cartersville. When you first walk in, you can smell the true barbecue, inviting you to come all the way to the service counter. Atmosphere is very country, just the way people who eat pulled pork, ribs, baked beans, slaw, and barbecue chicken would like it. You really can't find this kind of 0mom and pap type of joint in a very urban area. Even the parking lot was a good old gravel parking area in the heart of the city. My tree friends all enjoyed their meals. One said that: "The porkloin was so soft and tender." The other one said that her Brunswick stew was awesome, and my third friend loved her barbecue chicken salad. So the food is good. I took their word for it. I chose to have a slice of lemon pie because I can't eat barbecue. I wish that they served coffee, but it was fine with a cup of water. Simple and sweet, and not expensive at all. As far as the staff goes, I only saw one lady in the kitchen. However, there were several middle-aged gentlemen wearing blue aprons bringing food to the tables, checking on customers, and cleaning tables. Overall, it was a nice experience. I would invite someone here who likes Barbecue but does not expect to have a five-star dining. read more

Passing through town, we decided to stop at a locally owned restaurant instead of a fast food place. We were pleased with our food! Everything was reasonably priced & the portions were generous. We ordered the lunch special BBQ sandwich & the loaded baked potato. I really liked the potato with bbq sauce, cheddar cheese & a side of pickles it was a good lunch! Now retired, I drove through town yesterday on a roadtrip and the ribs and sauce are still the best ever! Took 2 racks and three bottles of sauce with me. Although the staff were very nice, the food lacked. The brisket was not tender and it had a weird sauce on it. The macaroni and cheese was bland and grainy and the baked beans could have been better but they mostly tasted of tomato sauce. The pulled pork was very good. The restaurant although it appeared clean, the bottles had crud around the seals where they had not been wiped and if you're not going to wipe off the sauce bottle then you're definitely not going to clean your drink dispensers. It's $40 and 20 minutes of my time (we threw our plates away and did not finish) that i'll never get back. I'll never return. read more

Absolutely awful. The sauces were very bland, the brusnwick stew was as bland as it was watery. The mac & cheese was bland. The worst part of the experience was the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The sauce bottles had this black crud built up around the base of the nozzles. Looking for a place to grab lunch with my young grandson after a visit to the Tellus Science Museum, we found Scott's. We went inside & made our way toward the order counter in the back of the restaurant. There we ordered - an "everyday special" BBQ pulled pork sandwich with slaw instead of chips & a good iced tea. Grandson got a kid's BBQ sandwich, chips and drink. Food came out promptly & we sat & ate. We were later than normal lunch around 2:15 & realized it was closing at 2:30 when they came by to ask about refills as they were shutting down the fountain. Looking for a Cartersville staple? Scott's is an excellent example! I love BBQ, and here they do it very well. Having been here a few times, eating next to the walls covered with past Cartersville High School football teams, I have enjoyed plates of pulled pork and brisket. The pork is great, but head over early on Fridays to get the brisket before they serve it all! The Mac n cheese and collards are what I normally get and they compliment the meat. I love finding great local BBQ joints and this will continue to be a favorite of mine! read more

Very nice staff, but the food is not very good. The baked beans were not good at all. They tasted like canned pork and beans, which I think it was. Definitely not real baked beans. They were not baked, there were not peppers, no onions, no extra bbq added. Watery. I could not eat them The ribs were dry and a bit over cooked, but at least somewhat edible. The sausage had a weird after taste. I could not eat it. The bbq sauce was just okay. Potato salad was good, but other than that, it was not worth the $16. I think I will just stick with my family's bbqs. read more

Being new to the area, I opened up my Yelp app and chose this place. Scott's is located on N Tennessee Street right across from Car quest. This restaurant offers plenty of parking and their patio is pet friendly. The menu is consisted of traditional bbq. I hear the briskets are the best thing on the menu but only served on Fridays. I ordered the half rack ribs with slaw and collards. The ribs were delicious!! The staff were all friendly. I brought my dog into the patio and one of the workers offered him a Shoulder Bone from the back! Great foods and service!! read more

Easily the best BBQ in Cartersville! Old School place with pit out back and line up ordering. Staff is super friendly and the food...well....DAMN its good! I usually get the half chicken with slaw and greens. Chicken is not the normal leather skinned meat. The seasoning is put on at some point before the skin turns to leather. Great flavor and moist as the day is long! Slaw is not too sweet and good and crunchy. The greens are cooked with some kind of cured ham or turkey...cant tell which...and dont really care...they are great. Had the pulled pork sandwich and it was excellent as well. Even the piece of white bread you get as an after thought at most places is moist and good. This is THE place for BBQ!!! read more
