Do yourself a favor and pull-in and order all of the sides. It's a place where, I kid you not, the "cobbler" is a vegetable side option! We will go out of the way to come by again. We were greeted enthusiastically by the nicest Southern gals. It's a quaint, small town "Meat 'N Three" place. The lot had pickups (great sign) and some local old fellers, about my age , who were wrapping up their afternoon lunch and coffee. All signs pointed to a good experience. The tea was fresh, strong, and hit the table as soon a my narrow butt hit the seat. The food was fast as well. Country fried steak, cole slaw, and mashed potatoes were fine. Graves-homemade. The green beans, greens, pintos (aka soup beans), toast, biscuit, and cobbler were top notch Southern delicacies. Several others were recommended, namely the home fried, fried mac 'n cheese, and fried corn. I mean, based on other reviews, the cheeseburger and chicken biscuit are next on our lists to try. Small country place with old school decor. License plates adorn the ceiling, with antique kids riding toys and Knick knacks of all kinds (a possum wearing a Santa hat!) pictures all over the walls, history of White, Restaurant shirts all around the world, stars and autographs, etc. They have amazing burgers and hot dogs. Their meat & vegetable options are amazing. If you order the fried pork chops I recommend getting some brown gravy on them. When you want a refill on your tea, just go to the register and ask. Great food, solid spot despite the price gripe I stopped in recently and ordered the classic burger with a side of fries and onion rings - and wow, everything was delicious. The burger was juicy and flavorful, cooked just right, and the patties had that perfect char. Fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the onion rings were a standout: thick-cut, not greasy, with a nice crunch. The place has a bit of a hillbilly vibe (think rustic, laid-back decor with a country feel), but it's surprisingly nice and clean inside - no complaints there at all. Service was friendly and efficient; nothing over-the-top, but everything came out quick and correct. My only real downside was the pricing. For what you get, it felt a little on the high side, especially considering we're in White GA where overheads aren't as crazy as in downtown Atlanta or bigger metro spots. A burger + fries + rings combo shouldn't hit the wallet quite that hard when the spot isn't fancy. This is an updated review. So as I stated, I did return as I was visiting Old Car City for a photo shoot. By far, this visit was much better then my last experience. I ordered the same thing, a cheese burger and onion rings. This time, without asking, the burger came out medium rare. This burger was juicy and seasoned to perfection. The onion rings were hot and fresh. The service was good with no issues. There was a sign on the door that stated that due to staffing that they now close at 3PM. I did ask about the bags of water hanging over the booths and was told that it keeps the flies away, as the flies think that they are wasp nests. The stuff you learn. A lot of potential with some basic improvements needed. The initial service was prompt and friendly but the order accuracy was off and after the food was delivered to our table, it was impossible to obtain service from the table. I had to stand up front and flag someone down to help me. I had to repeat this process for drink refills and to order dessert! In addition, the food was served at a very mildly luke warm temperature. Nah it's the food, friends. Wes Mans has the classic southern short order diner menu. Great sandwiches--dial up a chili slaw burger if you are not sure. Bbq sandwiches or plates are recommended. Meat and threes, or just killer veggie plates, have different items each day. But you can count on choosing the cobbler as one of your veggies. No one in my group--and palates varied--complained and left clean plates behind. Some raves about the fresh strawberry cake. Then we enjoyed the building itself and it's many stories. Very good. Love the staff and the food. I had breakfast and eggs, pancakes and grits and they were better than places like Waffle House and Cracker Barrel. My wife needed gluten free and they were great to accommodate. She had potatoes, and eggs and more. Definitely give them a try! read more

Very happy to have found this southern cooking "gem." Breakfast, lunch and dinner served in a small A-frame cabin with 6 booths and 3 tables inside and an outdoor patio. License plates on the wall. White gravy is out of this world. Good burgers. I asked about a kids meal - waitress said "just tell me what you want and we'll make it smaller as cheaper." Oh yeah.... Must go read more

When I need a Southern fried hug, Wes-Mans never disappoints. Their tenderloin biscuit is to die for! The tenderloin hangs out the sides of the biscuit every time. The biscuit is a meal in itself! Flaky, buttery and layers and layers of gluten goodness! Their fried chicken with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese is also heavenly and so cheap for how much they give you! It makes 2 meals and is even better the day after. Perfectly crisp skin and moist breast meat. You get a good variety of breast, wing and leg. It makes me sad to see the negative reviews. We went in thinking this would be good home cooked food...wrong! Everything had a just pulled out of the freezer and cooked taste. I had the hamburger steak and was very disappointed. It was a frozen patty that was still pink in the middle and the gravy was a brown tasteless paste. The Mac and chesse bites has a burnt grease taste. The Brunswick stew was right out of a can. We have lived in this area our whole lives and this is the first time we have tried it. Now we know why no one talks about it. Cause it's not work a darn. And when we told the server that my steak was still pink. I got a "I'm sorry, your bill is $...."....didn't care. If your wanting good home cooked foods with flavor don't go here.! read more

From the rustic flora to the pictures & license plates on the wall this place is inviting. They have breakfast, blue plate specials and burgers. I opted for the cheese burger w/ fries & onion rings. The decor is ecletic, with license plates, old newspapers, old high school annuals, and a wide assortment of "junk" covering the walls. Including a ragged stuffed possum. The food is adequate, and the sweet tea is very, very good. It doesn't get a lot of dinner business, but at lunch it can be difficult to get a seat. I favor the hamburger steak. Park in the gravel lot, walk up to the wooden porch and take a seat (there are some outdoor tables on the side near the water wheel, if you'd like). Check out the menu along with the chalk board for daily specials (mains, sides and dessert). The place was a mix of locals and workers enjoying lunch. The walls are packed with memorabilia, license plates and photos. Take a minute to check it out. Food options run the range of meat and vegetable sides, burgers, sandwiches and lots of fried foods. The mac&cheese bites - are a fun side. As are the onion rings. And the iced tea is homemade and quite refreshing. To fuel up before returning to Atlanta we had the grilled cheese w/ onion rings and the fried chicken salad. The salad is generous on both the rabbit food and the perfectly moist chicken. I was so disappointed in this place. My husband and I were on a Jeep ride and we drove by this place. It looks SUPER cute on the outside. So, we look up reviews on yelp. It had a lot of good reviews so we decided to try the place. The parking lot is pack... another good sign, right? Well, we walk inside and the place is just LOADED with flies everywhere!!! The ceiling falling down in some areas. But we see everyone eating so we decided to try it anyways. I asked our server how the onion rings were and she replied oh they just come out of a bag but they are good. Pretty much all the sides we got were frozen food items. The burger was a good size but it's not the best I've had. I will say the staff was VERY nice and you could tell the server was embarrassed by all the flies.
