Not really recommend and overpriced for the services done. So my cats decided to chew on my boots. Both costing 170 bucks. So likely I want a repair. So for 60 dollars. To clean a pair and bare minimum repair. That's pretty steep. I told them I was unsatisfied and come back. Like no!? You overpriced me. For barely any repair really done. And left sticker glue!!! Like how classy to leave on my 80 dollar boots. If you value your shoes and money don't come here. What a waste of space and my time to go back. Pricey, pricey, pricey....I must say my dress was impeccable but the cost was crazy expensive. To hem one dress cost me $96. I used this location due to a time constraint, but never again. My seamstress altered 5 items for me and it was only $60. Meanwhile this location tailored one item for almost $100 bucks. I just recently had an amazing experience with Natalie and her skills with tailoring. I needed a suit altered for a wedding as fast as possible. I dropped off the suit I had recently purchased and my dress shoes to be polished off a Monday evening and was able to pick it up Wednesday afternoon. Usually it's a week turn around time for tailors but she got it back so quickly for me and she didn't even charge me a rush fee! She knew I needed the suit back quick and she didn't take advantage of the situation. It's something I really appreciate and she did a great job with altering the suit. *sigh* I'm going to chalk this up to a partial Yelp fail (I got excited over Jennifer C.'s review) and a partial mistake on my part to stray from my normal shoe repair place. I'm not particularly unhappy with the craftsmanship as I am the customer relations & price that I paid. Again, should have gone with my judgment, but live & learn. I didn't need any tailoring done, but some of my heel caps needed to be replaced. I'm rough on my poor shoes and if I replaced every pair for each heel piece I busted, I'd be a very poor woman indeed. Not to mention wasteful to boot. Get it - "to boot" ... I slay me. I dropped off several pairs of my work shoes on weekend and asked that the heel caps be replaced. I asked if they had rubber heel caps & was told 'yes' so that is what I asked to be used. They offered to have everything done in 5 days, but I wasn't able to come in until the next weekend, so we pushed it out a bit. The lady I talked to was very abrupt, which kinda caught me off guard. She also didn't really quote me a price, though she kinda sorta said something about $12 to replace heel caps. Per shoe? Per pair? Shine included? Shame on me for not asking and clarifying. A week later, I came back to fetch my shoes and had the same sort of icy treatment. Again, never rude or unprofessional, but never friendly or interested in retaining my business. Maybe I misunderstood the earlier confersation, but I ended up with plastic heel caps on all my shoes. When I asked about the rubber heel option, I got a very blank stare. Alrighty then... hopefully I don't bust thru them as quickly as the last time. Lastly, this place was more expensive than my other place. For some heel replacements and two shoe shines, I was out a solid $60. My rubber heel replacements at another establishment cost about $4-5 less per pair of shoes than this place. Again, I should have clarified price and whatnot instead of blindly throwing in my items. My fault, for sure. * Note to self: learn to shine shoes at home. Charge friends to do the same. Make tons of money. Take over world. * This place definitely have good workmanship, but I'm afraid that, for the price and service, I'll be treking back to uptown from now on. read more

They hemmed it and brought up the v neck (and back) and it only took like a week or less - and it didn't break the bank either. Last week (Friday!) I realized I needed a pair of shoes fixed and a slit made less obscene on a dress and I needed it before I left town today (as in 5 days later) I stopped in here and asked if they could have it done in time and of course they can! Not only did she adjust the hem of the dress I needed shortened, but she suggested some other slight adjustments that really fitted the dress nicely! The lady was very helpful and took her time with me to make sure that I would be very satisfied with my dress once finished. It took about 2 weeks for the alterations but I had time so that was not a big deal. You definitely are paying for professional service and great work. Out of convenience more than anything, I had been using a tailor in my neighborhood for years. I was never completely satisfied with his work. So, this time, when I needed some alterations done, I did a little research. I discovered Atelier Tailor & Shoe Repair through Yelp and saw all these rave reviews. I figured it was worth my while to see if all the hype was true. Spoiler alert. It is. To echo all the other reviews, Natalia is friendly and professional. She offers reasonable prices (comparable to my old neighborhood tailor) and, most importantly, she does quality work. I had a handful of designer jeans that needed some alterations - including a couple of my favorite pairs that I thought may have seen their better days. New or old things need adjustments I always get it done at Atelier with no problems and rather quickly. Let me start off by saying the quality of the work here is probably the best I've had at any tailor, so don't think my 3-star review reflects dis-satisfaction with the work they do. I will still go here for very important work on expensive suits, etc. I really want to give Atelier a higher rating, but they are just not price competitive compared to other tailors in the area (with routine jobs like taking shirts in or darting). I know you get what you pay for, but they are double the cost of some of the larger high volume shops, and on the high end in general. I had 3 tops with minor alterations and palazzo pants that required a bit more. Total was $80, which was worth it because the sewing quality was top freakin' notch. I can't even tell she had been there. She also made some worthwhile suggestions for how to repair the pants. Customer service was okay. Family owned shops can get kind of weird sometimes. I was told the repairs would be done by Saturday. Saturday rolled around... and no phone call. I was obviously in no hurry to get my clothing back, so I called on Monday and some awkward kid answered the phone and was finally able to tell me my clothes were ready for pick-up. I had a bridesmaid dress hemmed here and very simple straps shortened. The dress was $150 (regular price) and the alterations cost $90. I've never had to get a dress hemmed before and the price was outrageous. The work looked fine. I felt taken advantage of at this shop. My friends went and picked up their dresses from this place after I told them how much I was charged. They found places for $30. My mistake for not looking around and asking prices first. I'll take the blame on that part. If I would have read the Yelp reviews then I would have read this place is very expensive. read more
