Charged me upfront to clean Ecco leather shoes. Had long conversation about what I needed. Picked up shoes today and they never cleaned them. Yelled at me calling me vulgar names and was trying to throw me out of his store. He even admitted he never tried to clean the white soles and charged me extra $10.00 for it. Yes, they're still at Willowbend Mall all these years later! I was so relieved to find out they're still here after some of my favorite shoes were ruined the night before! I went to a day party where they had a decking type of flooring and chose to wear heels to the event-needless to say I thought it was over for these shoes when one of the heels went right through the slats and got tore up honey! I mean toeee up toe up lol! But thanks to Rico shoe care they were brought back to life omggg and the only thing I regret is not taking a before picture because they were truly resurrected by this shoe magician!! Best place for quality repair work on shoes or handbags! Quick turn around, as well! A zipper broke on a fairly new (and nice) weekender bag. One tailor I took the bag to said it would be a $40-60 repair & a few weeks. Rico's charged $21 and the bag was ready for pick up THE NEXT DAY! I brought in a pair of Ugg boots I originally purchased in January 2014, they were sufficiently loved and showed it. Damaged from salt, city streets, and the occasional trip, they had seen better days. I was ready to donate them and get a similar pair of Ugg boots this season, but when I tried on the new boots they didn't feel as good as my beat up ones. I was perplexed and decided to shop around a little, then I saw this store. They did an amazing job restoring my boots. We discussed changing the color of the heel and it turned out great. Just got back from picking up my Lucchese boots that were re-soled and an antique briefcase that had a cracked leather handle he repaired... he charged me $140, and here's what I got: The briefcase handle re-cracked within 20 yards of walking out of the store. The heals of the boots now look pink or magenta when they used to be brown. The stitching around the boot has some kind of brown stain scattered on it. The seams up the boot shafts have a brown pasty material on them. The stain he put on the soles only went around the sides, leaving some ugly yellowish unstained portions on the sides visible. The bottom of the soles had some various stain marks, random holes, cuts in the leather, and pen or marker lines. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed in the work they did and will be having everything redone by a boot repair shop in downtown Grapevine this week. read more

I used to go there and have fancy shoes upgraded and put a sole on them and was happy with service , he used to charge me $70 This time for same service he is asking over $100 and when I took 8 pairs of shoes still want me to pay full price When I asked why he is telling me his rent went up as well !!! He is also becoming rude and arrogant and keep telling me how amazing he is, when I went to his store he ignored me for 10 min ! This place came highly recommended to me from a friend of mine who use their services regularly. And this place will not let you down. I recently took two pairs of heels to them to add some non-slip half soles so I'm not sliding around when I'm running from one end of the building to the other at work in a mad rush of ungraceful adulting. For about $20 a pair, they did a beautiful job installing high quality soles with excellent grip. You can't even tell they were added by a third party! They finished the job in a little over an hour. The lady at the front desk area was very sweet and knowledgable about my questions and was happy to show me the soles to check if I approved of them before the service was done. Store was closed an hour before it was supposed to, per Willow Bend website (7pm). No signs or hours posted on the door or window. Good quality work otherwise. Terrible service. First of all he does not speak English very well and is hard to understand. Told me he was going to stitch a piece of leather together. I went back and the small leather loops I gave him were SUPER GLUED together. Yes, super glue and be charged $11 to glue something together for me. If I wanted something super glue I could have done it myself at home. read more

I am really happy I found Rico's shoe care center. I stumbled upon his shop when I was shopping at Anthropologie. I had some Christian Louboutin pigalles that I had worn down the soles on and scratched up the higher part of the heel from leaning them against the back of a chair. Rico was very friendly and professional. He even had another customer's Louboutin on site that he had finished so I could see how mine would like like after. The turnaround time was quick. I dropped them off in the afternoon and picked them up the next morning and they looked great. I am so happy to find a place I could trust my shoes with. I was disappointed when Rico did shine on my two pairs of shoes. I read all the good reviews and thought he was good but not really. He charged me more than he quoted verbally when I brought them in. It was like only two or three dollars more a pair but it seems like he was trying to make more out of me because I was in a hurry. Very expensive, close to $40 for shining two pairs.
