First things first, the food was amazing and full of flavor. The place was small but cozy and clean. Love the music selection played in the restaurant. The music set the mood and complements the style of the restaurant. I just hate when you go to a restaurant and the music they play doesn't match the style/culture of the restaurant. The service was top notch and made my meal enjoyable. We were waited on from the time we arrived to the time we departed. Everything was great, I recommend this place for a night out on a small date or if you don't want a crowded restaurant but great Greek/ Mediterranean food. Nice quaint place. Relatively the same set-up as the previous restaurant but is more homey with warm colors yet modern. Clean and bright. Same with bathrooms and outside. Ordered the Greek salad with Gyros meat. Came with a very light oil/wine vinegar dressing that was just enough (I liked) and not your standard Greek dressing. Had big chunky slices of green pepper, tomatoes, black olives and onions (which I opted out of as we are not friends). Nice mixed salad instead of just Romaine. Had a friendly slice of feta on it that you could break up as you so desired. Nice touch. Wasn't overpowering. However, disappointed that they do not have Peperoncinos - What??!! I come to Greek restaurants for some spicy Peperoncinos! The tomatoes also were a bit of a disappointment - Italians and Greeks should know a good tomato. I know our food source is no longer the best in the USA but I would like a red juicy one instead of a hard, light pink, flavorless one when getting a salad. It's the little things. I'm not an expert on Gyro meat but it was moist yet crisp which was tasty. It wasn't the best Greek salad I've ever had but also not bad either. So overall I'd give it a B for a lunch salad and the context of the meal. I ordered a side order of tzatziki for my pitta bread. Tasty and the pitta stayed soft and pliable while eating it. Monday/Tuesday half of wine bottle which I like to take advantage of. Had an interesting Greek wine Monograph that had a medium intensity and was pleasant. I do work where the wifi is and they were very accommodating, allowing me to be there for however long (I did say I ordered a bottle of wine, yes? ). The waitress was Haylee and she was the bomb (I believe I've seen her in another establishment before). Smart, personable, attentive and perceptive which helped when she's owning the place as the only wait person. She needs a raise or to become a manager at some point. Didn't have a dessert but may come back at some point as their list was long. I wish them luck and hope they remember to advertise to get folks in the corner of that complex and I can come back to try another dish. read more

Service was excellent. Hailey took great care of us and helped figure out what we could eat, since we a re gluten free. Hubs had the lamb chops. They were terrific! I wasn't sure whatbtonexpect of the lemon olive oil potatoes, but they were excellent. Nice light flavor. I had the chicken Santorini. Definitely outside of my normal, but took a chance. It was amazing! I loved it. The flavors blended so well! Enjoyed a bottle of the monograph with dinner. Highly recommend. The only thing we didn't absolutely love was the Greek fries. Stopped in here for lunch and was seated immediately. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. We wound up getting the Chicken B.L.T. lunch special and the Gyro Plate; the lunch special was a good size and came with fries and soup, the gyro plate was a huge portion of meat with pita, Greek salad, fries, and tzatziki. The meat the itself was tender with a crispy outside and had a great flavor- I highly recommend! The inside is nice and light with music playing in the background. Update: we returned for their brunch and it was delicious. They take their homemade baklava and crunch it over pancakes... it's dessert! The regular 'American' breakfast was good as well. Eggs were cooked perfectly as well as the sausage. I however did not get pictures so today we came again with my son . We ordered the appetizer of flaming cheese (the name escapes me) and it was so good. A nice smooth but salty starter... my son ordered the breakfast pita while I went beef and lamb. ... Athena's is going to be a regular place for us; as we love Greek food and they have the most authentic we have been able to experience in Houston. Locals who are doing things rights!! We visited for the first time for brunch. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Athena omelette and Greek yogurt. The flavors were amazing. The customer service was superb. I have been to this incredible new restaurant twice, once during their soft opening and another time last week. It was delicious the first time and incredible the next. Our favorite dish was the Bougatza. If you like custard and fluffy pastry and are looking to taste something with the perfect blend of cinnamon, a hint of nutmeg, and custard that will keep you dreaming of more, then you should definitely try it. I will be coming back again to little by little try everything on the menu. I love how they are honest about what has been made to their satisfaction and what may need some work, but I honestly haven't had anything I haven't liked (yet the Bougatza is definitely my favorite). My favorite part of Athena's Corner, other than the enthusiastic wait staff and the personal attention from the owner and staff--You can TRUST the Chef. This place is a gem, and a must try if you are in the area. Or better yet, it's worth a special trip. read more

A must eat place in Seabrook. I ordered the hummas appetizer, the Athena's Grill Plate with baked lemon potatoes, a side of Greek olives and a glass of Moschofilero Wine. Although I couldn't eat everything, my eyes and taste buds were trying to convince me otherwise. Service was on the spot and the music kept the place cozy. We had a wonderful meal here! Everything was so fresh and delicious. I had a Greek salad with gyro meat. Even the feta cheese and dressing were spectacular. My kids shared a cheeseburger and fries, which they happily devoured. My hubby is on the carnivore diet so he just ate 2 sides of gyro meat. We were stunned by the huge portions. I want so badly to love this place more than I do... but the service.... Father's Day the waitress forgot to bring our fruit and our Greek sausage. We didn't realize it until we were driving away. It wasn't a packed crazy full restaurant that day either. Maybe half and plenty of staff. But she had plenty of time to talk to us all abt her pineapple allergy lol. We were charged for both. We didn't bother calling after to have it removed. Food was amazing esp their dolmades (best I've ever had - seasoning of meat is on point). Had the Greek omelet (more of a scramble than omelet) with feta, tomatoes, onions and Greek seasoning scrambled in. Delicious! Today we were the ONLY table in restaurant. 3 of us. Water glasses weren't refilled and remained empty from halfway through meal onward. Waiter was behind counter on phone most of the time. Ordered the same Greek omelet (scramble) as I did a few wks ago. It was very watery/runny and not fully cooked - no consistency to the eggs - soupy. It was almost ALL tomatoes. Any egg was imperceptible. Not being dramatic but inedible. I had someone else at table try them who also loved the dish last time try them. They agreed. Waiter didn't check on us until halfway through meal - others were almost done with meal so I didn't want it recooked at that point. It was uneaten and removed from the bill. My coffee remained empty most the meal as well. We were his only table. The waffles and pancakes the others had looked good - very fluffy - and they said were very good. But after the service the last two times I'm sad to say we are done with the place. I feel two tries is enough. They need better servers and more consistent chefs. Waiter told us Father's Day the owner was cooking. Today was somebody else. Maybe they need to keep the owner in the kitchen or train other chefs better. Maybe we've just had bad luck last two times with service (and today with the food) as others seem to rate this much higher. Giving 3 stars which I feel is more than fair. I waited tables all through college so I'm understanding of servers being swamped/in the weeds - but when you have only one table waters and coffee shouldn't be empty half of meal. And had he checked on us earlier instead of being on his phone I could've had meal recooked. Not a big deal in grand scheme of my day lol but they need better wait staff. Maybe a no phones while on the floor policy is an idea for improvement. One other suggestion re menu - at other Greek places there is often an option for a mix & match sampler dish - where you can pick & choose say 3 or 4 items from a list of several to customize your own. Would like to see that here. As menu is, if I want olives and tatziki and dolmades and hummus I have to order 4 separate dishes and have full servings of each. Just an idea :) However I'm not sure I'll be going back given service last two times and the undercooked soupy tomato eggs today. Again - I WANT to love this place so badly! read more

Athena's Corner is a cute, family owned restaurant that serves traditional Greek dishes along with some more familiar fare, such as burgers and wraps. I ordered the falafel plate and the dolmades. The dolmades were flavorful and tender, and the falafel were crisp and refreshing with the tatziki served alongside. It came with pita bread and a Greek salad (the dressing is homemade). The food is very good and the ambience is great. We've been several times and gotten good service even when they were very busy. My only complaint is that they serve water and soft drinks in very small glasses and I had to work to get attention to ask for a refill. This has happened every time we've been there. They have this terrific sausage called loukaniko that is flavored with orange. It comes wrapped in a pita or as a breakfast meat when they are serving brunch. Sunday night, the end of a stay with friends in the Clear Lake section of Houston, I proposed dinner out. I selected this Greek restaurant based on positive reviews. It's a cozy place among the many strip malls in this section of town. The early dinner rush had not materialized, so we had the place to ourselves. The waitress was quick to start our drink selections and held back while we perused the menu. I selected the lamb plate, while my guests chose chicken. The plates were full. The pita was fresh, the tzatziki was hearty, the rice pilaf was especially good, and the generous portion of lamb was delicious. They apparently also do a brunch setup too. We had a very pleasant meal. The check format with its many tip recommendations was overlong but that was the only thing I could fault about this very nice place with its wonderful food. read more
