The service is very helpful and attentive. Everyone was very friendly. The atmosphere is such a cute restaurant, great for a very intimate dinner with a loved one. The restaurant does have a tv for any sports to be played during your dinner. The restaurant is very clean and decor is neatly placed throughout the restaurant. Prices were very reasonable. Athena combo was delicious, the homemade sauce was so amazing we asked for more. The Bougatza was so delicious and worth the wait for it to cook. I want to start by saying the server with the long brown hair from Louisiana was genuinely very sweet and attentive. She was professional and kind throughout the experience, and honestly seemed to be doing her best in a very difficult environment. That said, the overall experience at Athena's Corner was extremely disappointing, especially given the price point. When I asked for my steak to be cooked rare, I was told it could not be prepared that way and was given explanations involving the health department and "certain regulations." The way it was communicated felt dismissive and unnecessary, especially in a steak-focused order where temperature preference is normally standard. It came across as rigid and unaccommodating rather than customer-focused. My steak arrived overcooked and closer to well done, despite my request. For a $32 plate, that alone was unacceptable. The presentation also made the meal feel careless. Everything was served in a greasy aluminum foil container, which did not reflect the pricing or expectations of a sit-down restaurant. The steak was placed directly alongside feta fries and heavily cooked onions, which overpowered the dish and made the fries soggy and unappealing. Overall, the experience felt poorly executed from both a preparation and presentation standpoint. While the server provided genuinely kind service, the management style and execution of the food left a lot to be desired, and I would not expect to return based on this visit If there was an option for no stars, I would put one read more

Because this meal really hit the spot. --- --- --- I've had Athena's bookmarked for a while now, as my parents live in Friendswood, and thought this would be a great place to try when visiting them. The stars finally aligned and I was able to meet them here recently. My mom wanted to order some dolomades to start off, and I'm not really a big fan, so I just figured those would be all her. But she offered to let me try one, and I can easily say that these were the best dolomades I've ever had. She agreed. I have no idea what they do to make these not taste so "sharp" like they usually do, but these were really unbelievable. For my appetizer, and I went with a beef/lamb gyro and it was everything you want in a gyro. Soft pita bread, non-gamey meat and everything in between. The greek salad that came with it was pretty underwhelming, but I ordered a side of greek fries too, and those were what I was hoping they'd be. We finished off by ordering a few desserts to share. I went with the strawberry cheesecake as the one I was mostly focused on, and loved it. This is definitely not a frozen cheesecake - they make them in-house and it's obvious when you take your first bite. My husband and I ate here for the first time today and it was fantastic. The waitresses were friendly and prompt. Our waitress in particular gave us good food recommendations. I got the Athena's Combo plate - all three meats were very good but we were both pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the pork bites were. This is a little hidden gem!! EVERYTHING we had was superbly delicious! We stopped in here while visiting the Kemah/Seabrook area because we have been in search for an authentic Greek gyro for a long time. This was spot on, EXACTLY what we were looking for. We started off with grape leaves and the octopus app. Grapes leaves were phenomenal, seasoned perfectly and the octopus was cooked just right, tender and seasoned well too. I had the Greek lemon potatoes with my gyro, yum!! We were so stuffed but of course HAD to try dessert, so we enjoyed some ouzo and waited (the well worth it 15mins) for the bougatza (custard pastry) it was so amazing! We really enjoyed our meal and dessert, even took some rice pudding to go . We got a chance to speak with the owner, a lovely woman originally from our home town. I definitely recommend this place, food and service were great, our waitress was wonderful, it's a very nicely decorated establishment giving great ambiance. This review is for the breakfast at Athena's Corner. The winning dish was the spanakopita mixed with eggs, served with a side of potatoes. We also had an omelet with gyro meat, which probably should have had a few tomatoes mixed-in to add some juiciness. The former dish was excellent, the latter quite good. The service was friendly, although I got the sense that our poor waitress could have used another hour or two of sleep. She perked-up by the time we were finishing our meal. I enjoyed everything I tasted, but be warned the Athena's Veggie Chips (crispy zucchini & eggplant chips served with tzatsiki) are addictive. Try not to eat them all before your food comes, you WILL want room for your meal. My daughter and I shared them along with the 3 Dip Sampler (Tzatsiki, Hummus and Tirokafteri served with pita). The Tzatski tasted so good, it was hard to not eat it all (I love the stuff). This was a lot of food, and it was just the appetizer, so we had plenty to take home with us. I had the Gyro Plate (Slices of lamb & beef with Greek salad, served with pita bread) and she had the special of the day, unfortunately I forgot the name of her dish. I just finished eating dinner at Athena's Kitchen. Words cannot completely describe how amazing everything was. Garrett greeted me at the door, took great care of everything, recommended everything and he wasn't wrong. I started with the Avgelomono soup. Outstanding!!!! While on vacation, my family and I sought out a restaurant that was not Mexican or fast food. We thankfully found Athena's Corner. As we walked in we were pleasantly surprised by the cozy 'Mediterranean meets modern' decor. We were immediately welcomed by Brandi and the restaurant's owner. They were both very personable, pleasant, and helpful. We were made to feel as though we were part of their extended family. The sweet husband and wife that own this eatery are passionate in sharing their Greek heritage and delicious food with Texans...and it shows! We started with Dolmades, Tzatziki, and a glass of Retsina. We then followed up with a bottle of Pinot Noir, Greek salads, a pan-seared sea bass dish, a Keftedes meatball dish, and Moussaka. This place is likely the best Mediterranean restaurant in the greater Clear Lake area, at least in my experience. My wife and I have been here a couple of times. The atmosphere leans a bit informally upscale -- this is not a buffet place. Staff are friendly and helpful. We've had the lamb and beef pitas and plates, all of which were quite good. There's much more on the menu to try, and we'll get around to that someday. They have more dessert options here than usually the case, and they make them here.
