Tookie's is an experience for sure. You have to walk up stairs (or take the elevator) to get to the lobby. The decor is giving boat / seaside chic. There's photo booth set up when you come in and it's free to use. Our server Abigail was really sweet and gave some good recommendations. Unfortunately, our oyster trio (cooked oysters) and the crawfish were overcooked. It was a struggle to open the oysters for even our experienced crawfish eaters. Additionally, the food took VERY long and came out staggered. Amazing is how I would describe Tookie's Seafood in all areas of theming, food, and hospitality! Tookies is known for their over the top burgers in Seabrook, Tx however they give a serious contention for best all around seafood in the gulf coast area! Parking is plentiful and the building itself is designed to serve in mass. You can either take the stairs or ride the elevator to the dining room which encompasses around 5 distinct dining areas. We were fortunate enough to order happy hour drinks and apps before the cutoff time of 6pm. Our waitress Gianna was on top of things from the greeting to the close. We started of with a 22oz beer and Long Island with the fried pickles and calamari. The apps were fresh and crispy and didn't miss on the presentation and flavor. I loved that the calamari was accompanied by hot marinara sauce and mysterious almost tartar like sauce but it wasn't just couldn't grasp what it was however it was delicious. Main entrees selected were the Stuffed Blackened Catfish with Etoufee, Blackened Stuffed Rainbow Trout and our daughter had a pound of fresh hot and spicy crawfish with corn and potatoes. My Trout was enormous and was worth every penny. It was complimented with a type of Rice Pilaf and sautéed fresh green beans with bacon. 05.16.26 - My Gf and I had dinner here today. The construction ongoing on 146 is crazy, still a plethora of traffic. However, once you get here, plenty of parking, and very clean. There is an option to walk up two flights of stairs or take an elevator. We opted on taking the elevator. Nice host greeting you at the entrance and we had a Great Waiter. He was on point on everything, making sure we had everything we needed and wanted. Drinks were always topped off, and he was very customer friendly, whilst handling four tables at once. Thank You. Service was good and fast. The inside of the restaurant was large and spread out on the second floor. The tacos were so yummy! Raw tuna, so not for everyone, but the crunch of the wonton shell along with the sauce/salsa was delicious. We also shared a dozen oysters on the half shell and they were fresh and well sized (not too small), the gumbo was also very flavorful and to our liking. I did not get any pics of the food, just the desserts, but my-oh-my! I can't believe we have never been here . Big parking lot, restaurant is on 2nd floor (but there is an elevator if you need it). I love the beachy vibe. I had it in my head I wanted fried shrimp. Well, the special was blackened cat fish stuffed with boudin and topped with crawfish étouffée. Chefs kiss! It was served with dirty rice (okay) and grilled veggies (yum!) I also got a side of coleslaw to try, it was really good, mayo based with a slightly sweet taste. For dessert I got the key lime pie... delicious! It was different than most key lime pies I've had as it was really dense... which was not a bad thing and the flavor was phenomenal and I loved the crust too. We finally made our way to Tookies Seafood in Seabrook. It's located at the base of the North side aka Seabrook side of the bridge on Hwy 146. There were four of us in our party so we started with the deviled eggs topped with shrimp (6 to an order) and the hush puppies (7 to an order). I really enjoy deviled eggs and these were really good. It was a first for me to have an egg topped with shrimp but it won't be the last. I'm cutting back on fried foods so I ordered the Combo under the fried section of the menu BUT I ordered it grilled. With the Combo, you pick 2 item: catfish, shrimp, chicken strips, and crawfish tails. I chose the fish and shrimp. Pretty good taste for a casual seafood restaurant. The Mrs. ordered the coconut shrimp and really liked them. Someone else in our party raves about the shrimp and grits so she ordered it again. I can tell you it looked really good!!! The service was average. We had to ask to get our glasses refilled a couple of times. They don't use cloth napkins and one paper napkin doesn't cut it. A little more attention to details would have been appreciated but when we did ask for something, we got it. These details make a difference between good and great. However, maybe we had an "average" server and the next one will be better. Bottom line - A really good casual seafood dining restaurant. We'll be back for sure. An easy 4-stars. Finished off a recent trip to Kemah and stopped by Tookies seafood on the way back. The location was convenient after hitting up the boardwalk with the family. Everything was excellent. We love the boiled shrimp. You can get them chilled or warm. We got them chilled. They are so very tasty. The seasoning is so good. While we were there walking in we were greater and sat down immediately. The inside of the building was super nice, clean and looked new. I ordered some calamari fried pickles. Wow we got two huge platers and they were delicious. I ordered the shrimp boil and they were delicious. The only gripe I have, was the dish came with potatoes and cheese but very little potatoes. The waitress was as friendly and polite and the food came out pretty quick. She was very attentive to our libations. Our glasses were never empty. So I'm really just leaving a 5 star review for the Oysters Rockefeller, they were absolutely amazing. The gumbo was too salty and tasted like these canned soups my dad used to buy, hard pass for me, the fried catfish on my combo platter was cut up pieces and bland which is pretty insulting considering the price tag, maybe I was spoiled by the Asian owned hood spots that know how to fry up some catfish 4 real, the fried shrimp were super tasty, I'd definitely get those again, the fries were really good too. So basically, I can't wait to come back for the oysters, I truly believe this restaurant's strong point is their grill, they actually really use mesquite wood which in my opinion is greatly appreciated. Tookie's is a favorite of my Dad's so we always go there when he's in town. They have an extensive seafood menu, a variety of delicious oysters, fried and grilled seafood dishes, lunch specials , healthier and not-so healthy options at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is family friendly. The large chair at the front is great for family photo ops. It's fairly near the water which gives the place a nice beachy feel. I get vacation vibes whenever I go. The service is consistently pretty good. Today when we went, I left my food behind and didn't realize it until we were on the elevator to leave. I rushed back in and our server smiled and told me he told the busser to give us 5 min to turnaround to retrieve it. So happy my food was still there. I hate when that happens and they throw your food away as soon as you leave. We'll continue to go to Tookie's. It's a nice reasonably priced family friendly treat. read more

Fantastic food and superior service! This was our first time eating at Tookie's Seafood but rest assured we will return. Our waiter took time out to share his menu favorites. Extremely excited to dive into the New Orleans grilled oysters. Fantastic! Hubby ordered the renamed Oyster Trio. Of course with him being a member of "never met an Oyster that I didn't love" he said the trio danced on his palette! LOL. Honestly, hubs enjoyed both but the trio was his favorite appetizer. We shared a grilled shrimp Caesar salad.... I had not much room remaining in my stomach. So with that said, only took a single bite. Good, solid seafood place. We ate here during a 2-night soccer tournament weekend in Houston. The place looked popular and was just across from our hotel so it got a dinner visit. Large, clean and well-staffed place. We didn't want to wait for a regular table so we were seated in the bar. We made a game out of trying to identify all of the flags hung from the ceiling. Food: All of the different grilled oysters we tried (3 different ones) were delicious, we'd probably go for the New Orleans garlic ones on a return trip as they were the clear favorite. Fried shrimp and oysters were also good. I got the Treehouse Tacos but probably wouldn't get them again, the grilled shrimp were small and there was too much of the cream sauce for my liking.
