My dog was in acute neurologic distress, and they treated him immediately with pain control and coordinated emergency neurosurgical care without hesitation. Every staff member we encountered was kind and reassuring during an incredibly frightening night. They communicated clearly, acted decisively, and treated both my dog and our family with empathy and respect. The level of expertise and coordination was remarkable. We are beyond grateful for the care he received and for the team who worked through the night to help him. I cannot recommend IndyVet highly enough for anyone facing an emergency.

After 6.5 hours, I finally left with a "we are not sure" diagnosis and medication to take for a few weeks. Two days later my dog seemed to be declining and was reacting poorly to the medication. I was placed in a room for NINE hours! At check out, $1250 later they asked that I sign a liability waiver which I asked for the vet to explain and I was informed that she wasn't an available because she was at the end of her shift and went home. Staff did not check on me once without me pressing the call light and indicating that I needed something. It was never offered that I could leave and return later. So for NINE hours I sat there. I understand they have critical patients but clearly they are dangerously understaffed because a NINE hour wait in a room with NO communication is beyond unacceptable!

Being a Newfoundland, he is prone to a flipping stomach, so time was of the essence. We arrived after midnight after driving two hours to be greeted by the friendly staff. They immediately went to work to ease his pain and determine the best treatment. We cannot thank this excellent hospital for their great care and quick Action.

Before diagnostic testing was completed, a staff member repeatedly pressured me to euthanize my dog, told me she had cancer before testing confirmed any diagnosis, and made alarming statements about her chances of survival. I became extremely upset and left feeling traumatized. I later filed a formal complaint with management. In writing, the hospital acknowledged that the veterinarian on duty remembered the incident and that the employee's words "did not convey the appropriate level of compassion." What makes this even more upsetting is that Bella is still alive today and enjoying a good quality of life. While I appreciate that management eventually acknowledged my concerns, the emotional impact of this experience has stayed with me long after the visit. Pet owners deserve compassionate communication, especially when facing difficult medical decisions.

I told the vet tech and doctor that my dog was poisoned but they claimed gastrointestinal. I explained researching the medicine and it killing ither dogs and cata. My dog was in shock and poisoned. For three hours, I thought she was receiving life-saving treatment. The doctor left to grab a paper then never came back and sent in the vet tech. Then the vet tech mentioned there was a real emergency that she had to use my payment paper for. My dogs poisoning wasn't taken seriously and so we left. Only to rush back as she was dying hours later. Had staff taken me seriously, my baby girl would still be alive. The morning staff at 4am were wonderful and wish they would have been the staff available when we drove an hour the first time that day before. I called the toxicology hotline to open a case and speed up her emergency treatment. The hotline was pointless and refused to believe a Flea + Tick medicine went to her bloodstream. I explained how every symptom from Flea + Tick poisoning (that my other dog had also experienced) was happening, they didn't take me serious and kept trying to find another reason for her seizures, tremors, vomiting, swollen organs, diarrhea, etc. My vet sent me to Blue Pearl saying they would treat her for being poisoned and in shock. This was not the case. We were there three hours before they apparently got ahold of the hotline. Which, why would you wait when a dog is dying? The hotline, once again, as I told them, didn't recommended anything for poisoning. They kept saying my dog was an old girl, as if ther way she was acting was due to her age. She was extremely healthy and agile prior to thirty minutes before receiving the Flea + Tick medicine. Please, if you go to BP, advocate for your animal and if its over toxicology, request immediate treatment or your dig could die waiting for the hotline they require to give unhelpful advice.

There's a staff of several vet assistant, one or two veterinarians and office staff. It's advised to call ahead to let them know you're coming. Depending on the severity of your pets illness (I must acknowledge they treat cats, too), you can wait anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours before being seen. Seriously sick animals get priority status. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. There's complementary water and coffee along with a reasonably priced vending machine with various snacks. They even offer phone chargers n case you forgot to bring one. Pricing is on the high side. But what wouldn't we pay when our pet is ill? Our little guy isn't out of the woods yet, but we're comforted in knowing he's getting the best care possible. If he comes home feeling better, I'll bump BluePearl to 10 stars.

Review of VCA Advanced Veterinary Center - 7712 Crosspoint Commons, Fishers, IN 46038…read more I had a very disappointing experience at VCA Advanced Veterinary Center in Fishers. While I understand that veterinary environments can be busy and stressful, professionalism and compassion should never be optional -- especially in an emergency care setting. One of the staff members, Danielle, spoke to me in a way that felt dismissive and condescending. When you're already worried about your pet, the last thing you need is to feel talked down to. Communication matters, and tone matters even more when clients are under stress. What was even more frustrating was the sense that administrative or social corrections seemed to take priority over actually helping patients get seen. Instead of focusing on the urgency of care, there appeared to be more concern about correcting people in conversation. In an advanced veterinary center, the primary focus should always be on patient care and compassion. Additionally, the overall atmosphere felt uncomfortable. Some staff members appeared disrespectful not only toward clients but also toward their own coworkers. It did not feel like a supportive or team-oriented environment. When employees seem disengaged or dismissive, it reflects poorly on the entire organization. I truly hope management takes feedback seriously and works on improving communication, professionalism, and overall workplace culture. Pet owners bring their animals here during vulnerable moments -- they deserve empathy, urgency, and respect.

Avoid VCA if possible and certainly do not subject your pet to the care of Dr. Natalia Jurcak--or…read morewhatever name she is using now. She insisted that we subject our cat, Lily, to yet another MRI before she started Lily on Palladia. However, she stated the drug before reading the MRI. In doing so, she caused Lily great discomfort and hastened her death. When it was clear that Lily was reacting very poorly, our experience with the emergency department at VCA made the situation worse. With the help of VEG and Lap of Love, we were able to get Lily the help and rest she so needed. After her death, we received flowers and cards from three other vet groups but no acknowledgement from VCA. VCA is clearly more oriented to money making than pet care. Why charge us thousands of dollars for an MRI that isn't even read before subjecting Lily to an end that was far worse than it had to be. Indiana law permits depositions to be taken prior to the filing of a lawsuit, and I intend to use that provision of the law. I tried easier ways to get answers but VCA was not accommodating. No one called me as I was told they would. Just to be clear, I am not seeking money. I want an explanation, an acknowledgement, and an apology. I will use every legal means available to obtain that.
