One day shy of a week he called us for pick up. Amazing service and friendly people!! They have many other machines for sale in the location. Having allergies and owning a dog is tough. I rely on three things to breathe easy: lots of allergy meds, clean HVAC filters, and my Dyson. When my trusty Dyson stopped sucking through the base, I got worried. I took it apart per the cleaning and troubleshooting materials available online from Dyson. No dice. I ordered replacement filters online and tried again. Nothing. So I looked up vacuum repair places and chose Atlanta Sewing Machine Company. I am SO GLAD I did! I stopped in and the guy handled my vacuum one-handed, a delicious-looking Krispy Kreme in the other (I came in before lunch). He checked a couple of things, nodded, and said it looked like it just needed a good cleaning and servicing. I paid half of the $60 charge up front and the other half upon pickup. I admit I was a bit hesitant with his confidence in his quick diagnosis. Silly me. A lady called me back a couple of days later to tell me my machine was ready. It was wrapped in plastic so I didn't test it out there. But I had no reason to doubt - I fired that puppy up at home and went to town on the fur tumbleweeds that had been slowly taking over my house while I procrastinated on how to proceed. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and happy to help. I am exceedingly pleased with the customer service and the pricing. I have tried to contact this store several times. It's hard to get a response to a phone call, although they did answer once and did follow up by sending me a parts list for my sewing machine. Following that, I emailed them, describing what I needed, and got no response. I then purchased the parts on line. After that I emailed them again asking if they could clean and oil the machine, and got no response. I can't tell from their on line presence whether they are open or not. However, their inability to communicate with who could be a paying customer is puzzling. read more

Bought a machine, first explaining the necessity of lessons to use machine.. I purchased the babylock reps recommended. Was promised training classes were available. Assured by 2 sales reps. After purchasing, was informed by the manager... NO classes available for my $1,000 Brilliant model. Although there were classes for similar machines, both higher and lower in price. I was not allowed to attend those.. They outright lied .. was told the reps had no authority to promise instruction class. The rep who attempted to show me basics when I picked up the machine was clueless... didn't know how to even use auto threader. When I inquired about the computerized panel, was assured that would be covered in the introductory class... that NON Existent class. read more

My machine was jamming and I couldn't figure out the problem. Came in and Mr. Wonderful (forgot his name) plugged it up and immediately diagnosed itself ...the bobbin winder was in the wrong position...there was absolutely nothing wrong with my machine...just a late night brain freeze. As he said, someone else may have taken the machine knowing there was nothing wrong and given me a big invoice. I totally appreciated his honesty and his customer service was old fashioned goodness. Hard to find places where this still exists. It also wasn't a wasted trip because I found things like a tiny needle, quality thread and sewing machine oil ...all things my local Walmart didn't have. What a great store owned and run by great people! I recently bought an old sewing machine at a thrift shop, aiming to finally learn how to sew. When I got it set up I realized it needed some TLC so I ended up here. Not only did they diagnose everything and fix it on the spot, but Audrey taught me how to wind a bobbin and she and Sam went through a mini history of my machine and sewing machines in general. The price of the repair and parts were so reasonable and now my machine runs perfectly. What a good experience. Next time I need help or want to buy a machine they've got my business. read more

This is a great family business. Everyone in the shop is so friendly and very helpful! They no longer sell fabric but, they do still have a handy selection of buttons (sold individually like Gail K), zippers, thread, misc notions (some vintage), and $3 Simplicity patterns. They even had my hard-to-find serger needles. I haven't used the services but, they also service sewing machines and vacuums (I overheard that they even have supplies for old Kirby vacuums) and sharpen scissors. Oh, and there are sewing classes. So, not a one stop shop but definitely worth a visit! read more

I bought my machine from and I decided to take a beginners sewing class at ASMC with a friend. They have beginners classes for 3 Saturdays for 2 1/2 hours each session starting at the beginning of each month (bring your own machine). The instructors know A LOT about sewing, fabric and fashion. They did a great job helping me complete my first project which was a pair of pajama pants. I plan to go back to take the intermediate class soon. The only downside is that it is difficult to get the project completed in the time allotted. I ended up staying 2 hours past the end of the 3rd class to finish my project and an hour past the finish time during the 2nd class. Thankfully I had the time. During my 2nd class the instructor noticed that my machine sounded odd and immediately took it in for service, which was very helpful. Overall I recommend this store for sewing classes to anyone looking for knowledgeable instructors but not too uptight about schedules. I also recommend them for buying and fixing sewing machines. They know everything about machines and are very helpful. read more

I love giving a business or product a great review. It means i've received great service or a product that lives up to it's claim. So, to redo this business review really saddens me. Tell me what you think of this! This is a brief, hit the important details review. I picked up my machine, after being there a month, and was embroidering an apron. Machine stalled during the simplifying process and i shut everything down. Would not recognize computer hookup. While checking the usb port I realized my machine housing was cracked. I removed the small cover at the usb and power cord area and immediately saw 2 plastic pieces laying just inside the machine, left them there and replaced cover. I took the machine back for repair and showed the lady the cracked housing. I TOLD HER I KNOW THINGS HAPPEN AND I AM NOT UPSET. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE NOTHING INSIDE IS MESSED UP. I even told her not to worry about replacing the cracked housing, but she insisted on ordering it while under warranty. They also said my machine needed updates installed or either updating, not sure which way they worded it. ( why this wasn't done during the previous months stay is beyond me.) After 3 weeks, waiting on parts, my machine was ready to pick up. I noticed immediately that the cover, where recently cracked, was now a complete gaping break. ( where are the parts I waited 3 weeks for) I called this to the mans attention and he knew nothing about it. I left a note for the lady ( who I showed cracked housing ) about breakage and the fact that nothing was written on repair invoice pertaining to work done and asked for a written detail of work. This is the second time nothing was written on repair ticket. When she asked the man about the gaping break, he wouldn't comment, therefore he didn't have to lie and he didn't have to admit I showed it to him either. I reopened the small cover when i got home, SHOULD HAVE INSISTED IT BE OPENED AT SHOP BEFORE LEAVING WITH IT, and saw several broken pieces, so I removed the bottom cover from machine. Inside I found 2 out of 3 tips from front computer panel ! Previously saw 1 tip broken off and now all 3 were broken. These tips hold the computer plate securely to machine. They must have dropped one out, lol, NOT ! More plastic pieces that screws go into to secure housing, a zip tie that was cut off wires and some ORANGE cracker crumbs. They had also left a cover off an opening on the under side of free arm. I called and emailed singer. They told me to take it back to them. AT THIS POINT I FELT LIKE SOME ONE TELLING ME TO TAKE MY CHILD BACK TO THE SITTER THAT HITS HIM. But I took it back. I then received an email that singer was sending a label so I could ship it to them. When I picked my machine up they still did not know where the cover to opening was, said singer could replace it. After asking 3-4 times for repair detail from previous repair I finally gave up and left. When I went to use my machine later that evening i realized they had taken the bobbin cover off, removed bobbin and did not send them back with my machine. NO REASON FOR BOBBIN COVER TO HAVE BEEN REMOVED SINCE IT WAS ONLY THERE WAITING FOR NEW HOUSING TO REPLACE WHAT THEY HAD BROKEN. When I called he insisted it was there and told me he had to update singer on machine and WOULD HAVE TO BE HONEST IN HIS REPORT. I told him I expected nothing less than his honesty. He continued the conversation insinuating I had broken the inside parts. I don't know what happened to the repair shop I loved. This is extremely upsetting. I do not recommend this business anymore.
