First time I have ever been to a concert at Atlanta Symphony Hall. I Came for the Pat Metheny concert on a Monday night. When you walk in you just feel the history and culture of this place. We arrived fairly early before the show and a Pat Metheny crowd had gathered. Quiet and reverent. There were light snacks and mixed drinks available at the concession area. On the expensive side and not a whole lot of variety but it was fine. The Hall itself did not disappoint. Comfy seats that you can sink into. Regal but modern. The show was incredible and I am convinced there was not a bad seat in the house. We sat a perfect distance from the stage, centered, orchestra level. It was nice to be at a show where photos and video weren't allowed. Mind blowing when you go to a concert these days and you see people with their phones constantly out. We disconnected and didn't miss a note. Try it sometime! Highly recommend this venue! Have already started planning my next event! read more

We attended a performance here on a Saturday evening in May. I assume our experience was fairly typical. The charge was a flat $25 fee that you paid upon entry. We had to descend to P3 (down 2 levels) before finding a space. There are 5 levels in total. We took the elevator up to the venue after noting our level and where we parked. The hall itself is great - wonderful acoustics and lots of seating. Purchasing tickets can be problematic depending on whether Ticketmaster is involved... After the performance when we left, the elevator was packed, so we took the stairs. However, we missed the door on the 2nd level down to continue (?). Someone else spotted it that was odd. It was overshadowed by the exit door. They need better signage. Depending on the season / weather, you can park at Colony Square's garage (diagonally across the street) for less. FYI. read more

First time checking out the symphony while in town, and I lucked out that one of my favorite artists, Ben Folds, was performing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. I managed to score a last-minute ticket.. and even though I was in the balcony, it was a decent view and the acoustics were excellent throughout the hall. The seating was comfortable with enough space to move in and out. During intermission, the lobby was fairly lively with people grabbing drinks and snacks (concessions are pricey, but that's to be expected) The entire facility felt clean and well kept. Ushers are nice enough to direct everyone to their seats. As I walked around outside after the show, I even came across an outdoor piano where someone was playing more Ben Folds songs... Overall, a great night of music. read more

First time attending Atlanta Symphony Hall. Won't be the last! Plenty of parking in the garage but I recommend getting there earlier like we did because it fills up fast if you want to be closer to the elevators and main entrance. At the end of the show it was a long wait for the elevators. Thankfully we weren't on a high floor so we walked down a flight of stairs and found another elevator that was available. It's really nice inside with tall staircase which our group was able to get a nice picture on. It's spacious inside yet intimate where you don't have to walk too far for anything. Bar and snacks areas had a good selection for the concert. There was enough staff so the wait wasn't long. I liked our seating in the very back row which didn't feel clustered. Only draw back is lots of people passing to get to their seats. View was good to see his performance. He even commented it's one of his favorite places in Atlanta to perform. Had a GREAT time watching the Brian Culbertson concert. He's full of talent, energy, and entertaining the entire show. read more

This was my second time visiting the symphony hall. I usually park across the street and walk over. The facilities are clean and the ushers are pleasant. We found our seats quickly and had a great view of the stage. I came for the Bach, Haydn and Mozart concert. I didn't buy any drinks or snacks but they are on the pricey side. Pros: - It's a lovely theater connected to so many culturally important arts areas in Atl -while parking is experience and confusing (see cons) there is a lot of it -tons of variety showcased here -comfortable seating with wide lanes for getting in and out of your seats -as someone who used to work in the arts in Atlanta, I do tend to run into old friends and acquaintances here, and it's always a fun little surprise -staff is always really freindly and knowledgeable. Cons: -the parking situation isn't ideal. A lot of very expensive options. All roughly $10 off from one another. I like to park at the Promenade building ($20 flat rate event parking and right across the street) -snacks are expensive even by theater standards -you'll want to arrive early for parking. Even if not using their valet, the area and surrounding streets get really congested with people whom are trying to figure out were to park and read signs and wait in traffic lines. **I highly recommend ridesharing if you are close enough - it will likely be less expensive than event parking and just less of a headache read more

Very unique and beautiful! The bathrooms were clean too. I was confused about the concession stand here. Really the whole place is confusing. It feels like a hotel until you go into the auditorium, but you have to buy up all your snacks up front. However, it didn't taste worth the price and the inside of the auditorium is very dated. I had higher hopes for this place, especially it being my first time here. read more

I've been here for a few shows, included ones with just the symphony along with full blown concerts with the symphony backing. I have also been to a play here with the symphony backing. I always park down the street at the free street parking and is only a short walk away. It is faster getting out this way since you are not fighting the garage crowd. The setting is is great. They do keep the lights up, but it is not too bright. It could be a little darker though and be fine. They do have boosters as well for your kids, but you have to ask and some staff aren't aware that they have them. But keep asking and you'll get one. The acoustics are really good and the bathrooms are plentiful. Never did I wait in a long line. There are also lots of different refreshment stations. The lobby is elegent to hang out in during intermissions. read more

We attended the Napoleon Dynamite show on Jan 11th and paid for VIP Meet and Greet Tickets. It was the responsibility of the venue to provide start times for the meet and greet which we did not receive. The time was not listed on the website, the ticket, via text, or email. The start times on the Ticketmaster meet and greet ticket stated 3pm which was the same start time as the show. We inquired about the meet and greet after and was told only then that the meet and greet had occurred prior to the show. Ticketmaster states the venue is not providing refunds. This was a failure on Atlanta Symphony Hall to disclose start times. We are disappointed to say the least and even more so with the refusal by the venue to make it right. read more

First time coming to this location for the Ledisi The Good life concert this past Monday. I decided to surprise my mom and buy her tickets to the show this past Christmas. To ensure we had secure parking I opted to get the parking pass. The venue has their own parking garage Adjacent to it. On the ticket, it refers to the parking pass as WAC aka Woodruff Art Center garage parking. Parking was very smooth and we didn't have any issues. The galleria of the symphony hall resembles an elite living room for guests. The chairs were comfortable and plush. Like any concert venue trying to market off of concert goers the concession stands had food for purchase. The prices were steep, for a bag of chips it was about 4 dollars. The size of the bag was roughly like a dollar bag. I guess you can say you pay for the convenience. The bathrooms were clean and not crowded at all. One thing I did like that security wasn't jam packed as well. Given the venue is smaller than a State Farm/Mercedes Benz Arena they do not have a specific bag policy. Now on to the best part of the experience:Ledisi the entertainer/headliner. She did not have any opening acts which attributed to why the show started around 8:30 that evening. This gave concert goers plenty of time to get your snacks/drink & get to your seats. Ledisi had a band that consisted of drummer, two back up singers, person on the guitar and keys. Everything blended like ingredients of your favorite cake. Ledisi microphone WAS all the way on! She sounded even better than the music tracks. She sung over 20 songs and kept the crowd entertained in between songs with her personality. The concert was sold out and I spoke to some people who purchased the Meet and Greet Package. According to them she was extremely nice. The place was also nice and clean and our tickets were super close to the stage. Overall, it was a wonderful time and I can't wait to come back to have another great experience. read more

The entire building and especially the symphony hall area are in need of a complete renovation. The seats are uncomfortable and the stage seems dated. Could not find or comment about anything special about this venue. The employees while entering the building - and through security were super-rude. What a beautiful, classy venue! I actually came here for a comedy show and not a symphony, but the lobby/waiting area is just spectacular. I love that there are bars everywhere, and the whole area just feels spacious and nice. We did not mind waiting at all until the doors opened up to go in. Inside the theater where the seats were, it didn't feel too cramped and we were able to see easily. Sound was good and everything was very comfortable. Wonderful location; I'd definitely come again for another event. read more

One of my absolute favorite places to go/things to do in the city is going to watch the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at the Symphony Hall. I've been here twice and I've fallen in love with this place every time I go. First time, I went to see a Christmas show about a year ago and the place was decorated beautifully for Christmas with a big tree in the lobby area. The second time was to watch Coco with the symphony playing music in the background. It truly brought tears to my eyes because this was such a beautiful experience. Their staff is great and the bar is such an added bonus. Drink prices are quite reasonable imo. The building itself is a bit outdated but a fun place to go to regardless. This building is absolutely beautiful, the parking is easy and reasonable for Atlanta standards ($20 dollars for an event). I attended an event this fall and the process of getting into the event was simple and easy. There are bathrooms outside of the theater, so you can go prior to entering and getting your seats. It was wonderful experience to listen to Diana Kroll at Atlanta Symphony Hall. In order to avoid finding parking, I decided to park at MARTA, and use MARTA to get to Arts Center, it was 5 minutes walk to the Hull building. Since it's early I walked around the building, found a Augusta Rodin's sculpture: The Shade, casted from original mold. At front door, one could either be checked with temperature or show proof of vaccination, face masks were required. Once inside there are couple of stocked bars if you want to grab a drink. My seat was on Loge section which is on balcony level, so I followed stairs to second level. The hull itself is medium size, make people feel comfortable. At balcony level, view is not great, a binoculars is recommend, acoustics is good enough to hear the details, it's different to listen at the site than listen to her albums. read more

Got to enjoy an excellent show last Thursday night. My favorite selections were Carlos Simon's "Fate Now Conquers" and Benjamin Britten's "Violin Concerto, Op. 15" movements I. II. and III, Stéphane Denéve - conducting and Augustin Hadelich - on the Violin. It was magical and the sound was amazing in the Hall. This is a great place to catch a live performance. read more

A nice facility. We were in seats 18 and 19 near the middle of the row. This means that lots of people are going to and fro getting to their own seats. During the next renovation, I'd lose a few seats per row and add a middle aisle. Other notes. We came from out-of-town and stayed at the Hampton Inn just up the block. It is brand new and rather nice for a Hampton Inn. We ate at Divan, which was great. The upshot is we only had to park once. read more

Attended a recent performance and had a great time. The bar tenders were quick with orders and extremely polite. The acoustics in the symphony Hall were incredible and I had an excellent view of the orchestra, conductor and performers. Be ware of the steep angle when entering the hall if you're wearing heels in the orchestra area as it may be easy to slide if not careful. I had a wonderful time and the orchestra was out of this world. The popcorn is buttery and warm if you need a quick snack during intermission or before the performance begins. A plus were the photographers and the many areas to take great images. If you're looking for a great date night or an experience. Look no further. read more

We went for a Christmas program. They were doing a musical version of Charlie Brown Christmas. The play was good. The troupe performed well. I was disappointed in the facility. For a city the size and wealth of ATL this place is not up to expectations. Birmingham and Mobile, AL have better Facilities. Seems like the city could do better for the arts. read more

My mom and I went to attend an Orchestra Noir/Rick Ross concert, and we were really pleased with how beautiful this space is. The staff was very organized and friendly despite the large crowd. Heads-up: there is no mask requirement, so be sure to take your own. There really isn't a bad seat in the venue. We were pretty close to the stage, but I feel the venue is intimate with good views no matter where you sit. I can't speak to the parking because we used Uber for transportation. I will return for another great musical performance! read more

Lovely place for a "concert" with the symphony; TERRIBLE place for a rock show. People need to stop booking them here. I've now seen two in this venue, and both were performers who are typically loud, energetic, and very engaging with the crowd. At both shows, the immersive quality of the experience was just lost and the audience was disengaged. I wonder if some of the fans who really needed to be there were turned off by the very non-rock-and-roll nature of the venue. The acoustics at Symphony Hall are either not appropriate for this kind of music or not set up correctly for it - it's just not loud enough. The sounds doesn't seem to travel far from the stage, and it's so not-loud that last night I could hear the guitar strings from row K. I'm afraid I won't be buying another ticket for a rock show here, even if it's someone I really want to see. read more

Covid cautious -- requiring masks and proof of vax -- folks may complain but it is the conscientious way to run a business and respect all folks. If folks don't want to wear a mask or get vax'd, they don't need to go to the venue. Venue is kinda wheelchair accessible. Bathrooms way-the-hey away from stage. Ans wheelchair seating is way-too-cramped and folks constantly bumping into the chairs. Worst thing is every time a wheelchair person wants in or out, we all have to leave to let folks by. So watching the show was very (very very) interrupted. read more

This was advertised to be spectacular and breathtaking. We expected world class tumbling and entertainment. This was more ethnic dancing and dances reflecting the politics of the setting. Lots of CGI background and CGI dancers. Although the dancing was well done it was not a high energy "ooh" and "aah" show. This is a nice venue....not as glamorous as some of the concert halls I've been to in the past, but the acoustics are excellent. The seating is arranged in long rows of around 40 seats without a row, so if you're in the middle at #20 you're going to be stepping over a bunch of people if you need to exit the show for any reason. There are numerous refreshment stands outside the hall which is quite nice....and there is quite a bit of seating for people that want to get a drink and hang out a bit before a show. There is plenty of parking surrounding the venue, and overall it's very easy to get in and out of. It's a classy area, and overall my only complaint (not really a complaint) is that the interior is fairly plain compared to others I've attended....just wood paneled walls with beige paint. I've been to this venue for several live performances. The architect of the outside & exterior building is artistic. The inside isn't as artsy. Outside there's several interesting views to capture on your camera. There's even a piano you can play. The outside area is shared with the High Museum. There's a cute cafe to grab a snack. I purchased advance tickets via Ticket Master. The tickets were electronic and accessible via my phone with a bar code. I attended the 3 PM show & did notice for this event that we had to go through metal detectors. I'm unsure why this was the case for Ta-Nehisi Coates Between the World and Me. I paid $40 for balcony seats. I was in Row A so no one was sitting in front of me. However, I'm short & the cement wall was not in my favor. I managed to make it work by sitting at the edge of my seat, but I could not sit back without my view being obstructed.The acoustic for the performance was good. I knew parking would be a challenge so I paid online for $12 parking in the church's lot which was an easy & quick walk across the street. read more

Atlanta Symphony Hall is an excellent music venue. The acoustics are great here! On October 9, 2015, my husband and I attended a concert, "The Love N Soul Experience Tour" featuring Leela James and Raheem DeVaughn. This is one of the best concerts I have ever attended. Leela James has such a powerful, soulful voice! At one point, Leela sat on stage with only a stool, a microphone, and the spotlight. She sang her hit "Fall for You". She is the truth. At the end of her performance, she sang her way out of the concert hall. Raheem DeVaughn's voice is phenomenal! We have been fans of Raheem DeVaughn for 10 years. He sounds great on the radio, but even better in concert. He sang with all of his heart. Atlanta Symphony Hall was the perfect location to capture the wonder in his voice. read more

Atlanta Symphony Hall is an excellent venue. Located within the Woodruff Arts Center, Symphony Hall is the home of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and I have been here many times to hear the ASO perform (most recently at their gala fundraiser with Audra McDonald). Recently, Symphony Hall has also been used as a venue for other artists as well. Within the past year, I have seen Ben Folds and Butch Walker at Symphony Hall as well. The acoustics for both shows were amazing. For the Ben Folds show, the sounds of his piano echoed throughout the venue in an incredible fashion while at the Butch Walker show, his guitar solos were incredible and heard by all. Symphony Hall is an excellent venue for artist showcase shows such as these, and I would recommend that they continue to book them. As long as they book high quality artists such as these, I will continue to attend their shows. read more
