That's not a good school at all; the online teachers will fail you just because if you call them they won't answer from the financial aid to the teachers, Mr. Griffin has screwed my paperwork all the way up, causing me to miss a lot of assignments, and Jeanette Miller, she just is so forgetful, she does not need to be teaching she has got me and my sister mixed up so my grade throughout the whole semester was an (F), when I first started it says I didn't do certain assignments, so I'm telling her I wasn't even in your class then so why am I seeing an (F), she still has no clue and still failed me so no way then the English teacher Catlyn Kelly she is so racist, she asked us for our opinion on the Emmett Till, and Tamir Rice asking what should have happen to the person's that did such things to them so I told her and the cause of that led me to getting an (F) in her class as well, so I'm just like all confused now why would that subject be in your lessons if you didn't want our honest opinion, you asked the whole class to write an essay about it a 1000 page essay and she still flagged me for that like them teachers just want a check, and they will still fail you for no reason, get it together Tech because won't nobody ever want to attend that school, I know this summer I will be transferring to another school, until they get better administrators, and teachers, financial aid counselors, then I will not be in attendance. read more

This is the most disorganized school I've ever encountered. The admissions office makes it feel like they don't even want students here. I already have a degree and was simply trying to take one class to update my skills, but the process to verify my residency was unbelievably difficult. Even after sending more than 15 documents to prove residency, they still made things complicated to the point that I gave up. Worst nursing program in Georgia. It's a lot of favoritism. If you make a instructor mad they all will fail you so you can't return. The Dean is definitely not a good source to go to when you have a problem. All Dr. Walker does is prance around getting free money. I am very concerned about the professionalism of one of the employees at this institution. It has come to my attention that Jasmine Smith (business office )has been fraternizing with students during of regular work hours. She is sharing explicit photos with the students. .. This behavior is highly inappropriate, as it creates an unprofessional environment and blurs the necessary boundaries between staff and students. Such actions undermine the integrity of the institution and can lead to favoritism or other ethical issues. To say this school is a joke is understatement of the year. The problems started from the beginning for me. Upon going through the whole process of applying, I was told all Tra scripts needed to be in before an acceptance could be given. I later received an acceptance letter and attempted to move on to registering for classes; only to find there had been a hold placed on my account. After calling, emailing and even going to the school, I was finally able to figure out that the hold on my account was a "transcript hold." How can they say they didn't have all my transcripts, but sent me an acceptance letter. They apologized for their error, I sat out that semester due to not being able to get the hold removed in time and proceeded to start with them the following semester. Humanities was a good course which I got through without issue. I registered for summer semester, A&P 1 Lecture and Lab. A day later I decided to withdraw from A&P 1 (yes, I was within the window as the semester hadn't even began) and register for a math class. When the semester started, I noticed A&P Lab was still showing on my account. I contacted my advisor, the instructor and the dean to have the class removed as I wasn't able to do it from my end. After going back and forth for 2 wks, I was finally withdrawn, but not from the lab but from my math class. The class I actually wanted to take. I went to the school to speak with someone only to be told no one was available and I'd need to wait till next semester. I also couldn't get a refund for this course until the semester ended. I requested my transcript to be sent to another school July 30th, which was the end of their summer session and when grades should have been posted. Unfortunately, the transcript sent to my new school showed me as having classes "in session" for the upcoming semester. Classes I had not registered for. Speaking to the dean is pointless I still haven't been refunded. I've called 5 days straight and can't get anyone on the phone to speak with and when someone finally answered it was to say "Oh, you have to wait until ..." If you're serious about your education, go somewhere else. This school is beyond unprofessional and only care about making money. I should've listened to everyone that told me not to go there. read more

The teachers are great but the school doesn't make sure you have the tools you need to learn. They take money for books and supplies but we can't use financial aid to pay for them and they take up to two months to give you the remaining balance on your account so that you can buy what's needed on your own. It's almost a set to fail. The school needs to fix that or hire better people to do the accounting. read more

This technical college is the worst, I've attended here since 2019 and regret every second of it. I'm a transfer student & I should have stayed at my original school. They can never get my information correct. The staff always has a bad attitude, they never answer the phones, you can never get a straight answer from anyone. You can just feel the hostility in the response when emailing someone with a question. You all need to work on your people skills & actually be willing to help students excel. Nursing program just got accredited, but it's terrible! We were only 1 month in when forced to interview with ACEN, so we didn't know what to say. Look at their graduation rate. How do you accept 30 students each semester and only 5 students graduate each year. This gives them a higher NCLEX passing rate. They don't try to teach you at all. I spent a year here. I am no better off than I was a year ago before I started. The teachers are not professional and very unprepared. I never received any proper training for the field I was going into. (Medical). The admin staff acts as if you are putting them out when approached for help. The staff seems rude and never smiles. My calls do not get returned from teachers or admin staff. A lot of unprofessionalism from fellow students. My financial advisor(E. Robinson) ignored my emails. I was lucky if I ever reached her on the phone. My school advisor (A. Taylor) was very unhelpful and also ignored my emails. One of my teachers never let me know my final grade in a class or my last project. This school is a waste of anyone's time who is really trying to further themselves in life. I took the CDL course earlier this year and failed to complete it because I had a horrible experience with the instructor. The instructor yelled called us stupid and was very unprofessional. I can not learn with someone constantly yelling and being rude. I went to train with a friend of mine that drive over the road and figured I'd learn that way. My friend helped me by letting me ride with him and showing me the ropes. My friend encouraged me to not give up so I re enrolled in the next class and got a different instructor. My instructor Melvin Shelton never once raised his voice was very patient. Yesterday he took me and another student on his off day to the DDS and we passed our CDL test! I will always remember Mr. Shelton and his care and concern especially his ability to teach without yelling and insulting you. I'm very proud and happy to say that I'm now the proud holder of a CDL driver license with no restrictions! read more

More gripes: Teacher misses the first two days of class(and doesn't notify students when he has all of our email addresses) and acts like it's not that big of a deal. The book store and syllabus indicate the wrong book for the course. Bookstore does not even stock correct book. Teacher proceeds to teach from wrongly assigned book for two days without realizing it. Class scheduling options make it practically impossible to work either a 1st or 2nd shift full-time job when taking even a single class. read more

They were nice and very professional. The school is incredible. After being a student at DeKalb Tech, this place is awesome. The school is clean, new and doesn't look like an old high school! I attended this school on 2 occassions. The forklift class in January 2019 which went very well. I had a great teacher. Also, January 2020 for the Commercial Truck Driving program. I will give a review of the school and the Commercial Truck Driving program in this review. Contacting the school via phone/email is impossible. No one picks up the phone. If you leave a message, no one calls you back. I emailed the admissions department and no one ever responded to my email. In order to get questions answered I had to make several trips to the school which was exhausting. The Commercial Truck Driving program lasted 8 weeks. I signed up for evening classes so I could attend after work. The first 2 weeks is classroom instruction. We had a wonderful teacher who I could tell was passionate about his job. Unfortunately, he was not my driver instructor. We were assigned our driver instructor and sent to meet at a parking lot location behind some VA building. There was not enough room here to do manuevers so we just studied some pre trip work and did straight line backing. There wasn't enough space to do anything else. The next week we were told to meet at another location near the airport which the rented for us to practice manuevers. This location was larger but the ground was not leveled and full of debris. There was trash and metal shards all over the yard and a student even got a flat tire from the debris in the yard. Since it was January, it got dark earlier and we didn't have enough light to practice manuevers for the remaining 1.5 hours of class everyday. I asked about the lights. My driver instructor said they were ordered and she doesnt no where they are. To make a long story short, our performance was failing because we went over 2 weeks without adequate lighting in the yard. Aside from those issues, my driver instructor was more of a chaperone to make sure we didn't damage any equipment (the trucks) than she was an instructor. She did not show us how to execute manuevers. She just told us to get in the truck and do it. One of the students had driven trucks before and since he was always early to class he was the example we had to go by when we arrived so he just showed us how to do the manuevers as well as us having to learn by trial and error. That's a good way to learn but it would be nice if the teacher gave us guidance so we would learn faster. If I asked her a question, he answer was a rhetorical question like, "What is you doing?", "What I tell you about that?" (By the way, what she told us was absolutely nothing) I remember having a question about the Air Brakes and her response was, "How long yall had the book to study?" I was wowed. I dont think she knew the answers and just deflected my questions to take the responsibility of being a good teacher off of her. I thought about going to the other group in the evening class but when I saw them practicing maneuvers, they looked like they were doing worse than we were. The other instructor didn't even spend much time in the truck. He just watched the student from his personal vehicle. This school doesnt have their own property to manuever in or caring knowledgeable instructors for this program. I and many others failed our CDL test. The pre trip papers we were given didn't have all of the information needed to pass. It costs $100 the first 2 times to take the test. When I was emailed a month after the course ended to see about retaking the test, needless to say, I declined because I wasn't prepared by the school to pass it. I was told I would fail the performance portion of the class. I have spent hundreds of dollars on school books for this course, on the DOT physical and drug test for this course, and on the CDL exam. This program is a waste of money, time, and energy! My biggest regret is not taking heed to the reviews I read of this program before enrolling. I hope you don't make the mistake I made. I wouldn't believe a word out of their mouth when they tell you how great it is. It doesnt even matter if the FAFSA paid for your education. You won't be getting an education with the driving instructors this school has! read more
