no wait, couldn't be more convenient to sit in my car while it's being serviced. angel and jalen were excellent about communicating and they took the $25 coupon for oil chg. i allowed the upsell to add power steering fluid that i'm probably due for anyway. only thing is that my oil change sticker says i need change in 3k miles but i was told fully synth means it's good for 5k. i'm sure i'll forget this in 2,995 miles when i see im approaching the sticker limit. but oh well. they filled my tires with air and checked all the lights, there's some value to that as well. i would recommend for sure. read more

I have been getting oil changes at this location for years. Every time there is a very long wait and the guys working there do not communicate the expected wait time to you. Today, however I was mistreated on an entirely new level. From entering the guy directing me in spoke to me like an idiot on how to enter, saying "it's not that difficult" even though I had one guy telling me to go in one bag and another telling to me go in the other. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Angel then came over and said he would take over my car. Apparently, my car was overheating at the time so I was concerned but asked to proceed with the oil change. Angel said they could not diagnose the issue which I understood. Angel left and upon instruction from my boyfriend he told me to check the engine to see if the anti freeze was leaking out. I got out of the car, not realizing that was a no no. Angel had left but I guess heard that I had gotten out of the car and ran out saying "you can't just do whatever you want lady". I said I need to check my engine and he continued to yell at me calling me "privileged". I said I did not want to proceed with an oil change and to close my hood. He continued to call me privileged and took a photo of my registration. I asked why he was doing that and he didn't say. I pulled out of the garage and into the parking lot where I attempted to open my hood again myself. I was having difficulty so went back towards the garage to ask for help and he starts yelling again saying that he will call the cops on me. I asked him for what, I am just asking for help. He said "get off my property". I explained that a gentlemen would have offered to help me, I don't understand what you are talking about. I asked him his name, he said he would not give it to me. I grabbed my phone to take a picture of the garage license number and to try to get a picture of his name tag and he told his guys to turn around and walk to the other side of the garage so they wouldn't be in my "video". I immediately reported this to the company and find it concerning that people of this anger level and lack of professionalism have my personal information. I did report this to Valvoline customer service. Clearly by this Yelp account this isn't the first time this manager has acted this way. In a society where there is enough anger, I would hope getting an oil change would be stress free. But I guess not. Obviously I will not be going to this location again. read more

Had a online discount coupon which they honored and they recommended I change the air filter which was dirty to the max. Very honest no pressure sales pitch and I was on my way in less then 20 minutes . WARNING: BEWARE OF VALVOLINE. I went for an oil change at the Mamaroneck location and they cracked my oil filter housing. I returned within the week to complain that it smelled as if something was burning since my visit. They looked under the hood and denied a problem, claimed everything looked perfect. Within 10 days my car was smoking and completely covered in oil on the underside of the car. When I returned frantic, KJ the manager got under the car himself and upon inspection concluded that there was absolutely no oil leak present and it was in fact a major transmission fluid leak. LET THIS SINK IN: VALVOLINE'S EMPLOYEE WAS UNABLE TO RECOGNIZE OIL When I got to my mechanic to fix the ( non-existent) transmission problem there was no detectable oil on the dipstick. Only one quart of oil left inside of the engine. This was 3 weeks to the day after my oil change. In that time my car lost 5 of the 6 quarts of oil in it. My engine almost seized. The housing cost $1000 to replace. Valvoline has denied my claim. The regional manager, the highest one can go with a claim at Valvoline (and the guy who probably hired the incompetent guys who broke it) say over tightening the oil filter housing is a "national issue". So consumers BEWARE! especially if you have a CHRYSLER or JEEP because those are the names they told me . Valvoline will accept your car for an oil change, break it while doing so, but not be held responsible. I have never been so disgusted by a company before. The way they investigated my claim was inherently a conflict of interest. I have spent too much time on the phone with the managers while they spun story after story about why it happened. People may get tired of reading my reviews of this Valvoline location. For about 3 years now I have been going to Mamaroneck Valvoline after having a bad experience at Port Chester. I am very particular about certain things like tire pressure. Today I show up and Angel the manager sees me. He immediately calls out to his crew and informs them about the tires. I bring my car into the bay and like the weather tech commercial all the crew appear out of every nook and cranny! These guys got to work in seconds. While the car was being worked on I had the opportunity to inquire about other services that can be provided. Well to my surprise as well as the technician some things were dealer only. Well we both had a good laugh! Anyway I see that this location doesn't have a lot of 5 star reviews which does not deter me from using them. With one exception I have never had a problem and the one issue was...you guessed tire pressure. Also today was a special day for a new technician and the mentoring I witnessed was amazing, everyone was involved to make sure this tech succeeded....good job guys! read more

I don't get the smoke the shop gets. Great value, beats any dealer or mechanics 2/3 hour wait. They don't just do an oil change they perform a full complimentary car check for any fluids, filters and manufacturer recommended services with service history from the vin and car fax (mind you everything is reported to car fax). Different oil choices and services are all in my control, you see everything hands on bc you sit in your own car. In and out in 20 mins. I love the guys and the manager is very welcoming. I said no because when you can't do it today you have to come back. In the meantime, I see at least five guys in the bay not doing anything the manager I believe his name is Angel was extremely rude. I've been to other Valvolines, and the setup was slightly different. Wait in a line, then when they have space, drop your car off and they can work on it and let you know when it's done (~35min). At this Valvoline, I was asked to wait in my car. At first, I missed the opportunity of being away: ice cream, park bench, sun. But when Angel started with the safety inspection of the car (fancy talk for making sure the lights were working, because I knew not all were not), the feedback he gave was excellent. Not only did I get all my lights fixed (quickly and affordably), but I learned why it's worth changing a dirty air filter (gas mileage, and engine health), how to reset my own oil change meter, and that my tires were in good shape! Like in a restaurant, it depends on who takes care of you, but today I was well taken care of, all for what I expected to pay. read more

I've gone to Valvoline in Mamaroneck for the past 2 years to get my car inspected, and have had a good experience. However, during my last inspection in Oct. 2022, I was told I needed a new windshield wiper blade in order to pass inspection. I obliged and got the new wiper installed by the rep. that was inspecting my car. Fast-forward to 6 months later, I'm driving down the FDR in the pouring rain with my 2 month old in the back seat and the wiper blade all of a sudden completely flies off!! It's pouring rain and I'm only 4 mins in a 24 min drive home. Very traumatic experience. I called Valvoline the following day and spoke with the manager, Angel. He did not acknowledge any wrong doing, take any responsibility and/or accountability for the incident. I explained that this was not a case of normal wear and tear of the wiper, the blade completely flew off my car, which to me sounds like it was not installed properly. His argument was it's been six months and we had snow, etc. I have a CLK430 sports car, there's no driving in the snow with this car! And I explained I live in the city so I barely drive the car...it sits in my garage. REGARDLESS, the wiper should NOT have just came unattached and flew off my car if it was installed properly in the first place. He was unsympathetic and kept repeating they had nothing to do with it, when in fact they did -- they installed the blade. My car sits in the garage 98% of the time so I can't even chalk this up to normal wear and tear. He initially said there's nothing he could do but after I expressed my disbelief in his insensitivity towards the situation, he offered for me to come back and they'll install a new blade. ABSOLUTELY not!!! You think I'm going to let you install a 2nd blade when the 1st one flew off in the pouring rain! No thank you!!!!! I thank God this did not end badly for me and my son. read more

Not good... they charged me an extra $15 for extra oil because they said my F150 required it. Maybe so, but $9 per quart of oil ? On top of that, they significantly short filled it. The guy showed me the dipstick after the oil change, it was way low, which I pointed out to him. He said he would take care of it, which I believed to be true. I drove off, then decided I should check it again... I did, and guess what, it was still way low. I brought it back to the shop and showed the manager. He checked it, didn't say anything, then added a couple more quarts of oil. So even after I had shown the guy it was very low, he ignored it and let me leave the shop that way. So net/net, they charged me for extra oil, never put it in the truck, and even after I pointed it out, still let me leave 2 quarts low. $110 for an oil change and unbelievably incompetent.... won't be back. read more

This is a double update of sorts. After my last experience that I THOUGHT all was good but I was checking my front exhaust and I noticed the washer was missing from the oil drain plug and it was leaking. After a new washer fixed the problem, I tried to remove the filter and it was like a Olympic weight lifter had put it on and that thing was NEVER coming off. SO, based on that I changed my 5 stars to TWO. That was last yr. Fast forward to this yr and I needed my oil changed quickly and Mamaroneck Valv was the only one that could do it BUT.. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a new Inspector and I had remembered him from last time being honest and competent and he finished my car in a short time and I inspected after and found NO problems so in Conclusion....The FIVE Stars stands and as matter of fact I'm going there today to get a oil change and inspection. I brought my car here to get inspected. Upon pick up, I was told that my car passed inspection, but I had a brake light out. The manager said he technically should NOT have passed my vehicle because of this but chose to do so anyway to do me (a stranger) a favor. He asked if I wanted one of their employees to replace the light for me (for additional fees), and I said with much discouragement from Valvoline that I would change it at home. When I got home and had my father help me determine which light was out, he told me that all of my lights were on and that Valvoline lied to my face and tried to take more money from me. EXTREMELY unprofessional, bordering on illegal since they admitted they knew they shouldn't have passed my car for inspection and did so anyway. Many red flags, do not go here. Never. Go. Here. My wife came in for an oil change and safety inspection on a Thursday, by Friday, our wheel had fallen clean off of our car. They claim the tire was never removed, however, when I asked the manager Dominic, how they checked the break pad, his response was "we checked the break fluid," when I advised that I didn't ask about the break fluid, I asked about the pad, he said that an employee did the inspection wrong and was written up. It should be noted that the invoice says break fluid was not checked. In a later conversation I was told that they were going to take the issue up with the employee, so Dominic doesn't even have his story straight. I should note that an oil change sticker was not put on the car, not in itself a big deal, but indicative that on this particular day, they were not paying attention to the little details, like putting lug nuts back on the wheel. At the end of they day, it has just been one excuse after another and it seems like they are trying to say what they need to in order to get me to go away. They say they have a video of my card being serviced which I will have to review at some point, but based on the content above and the overall lack of accountability, i have little faith in the video & this Valvoline location. read more

I always get my oil changes at Valvoline. My inspection came up. Recently I have had my windows tinted. The fronts are legal 30's and the back are 70's. The law says you can have any kind of tint on the back window and rear window as long as you have working side mirrors which I do. I was told that because my back windows were tinted they would fail me immediately if I did it with them. I brought up the DMV online information and I was still told that it was going to be failed. I went down to a local mechanic and they passed me the same day confirming what I was trying to tell the worker. Please go through the laws with your staff. Had I listened to the worker I would have not only lost the 200+ dollars to install them, but also the additional cost to have them removed. I will never come back to the Mamaroneck location. read more

Here's the scam they run. Went to get an inspection and an oil change at the one near 95 in Mamaroneck. They said I needed new wipers otherwise they'd have to fail me. The wipers were fine. Problem is in NY state you pay $37 pass or fail. So if I say no and they fail me I owe them 37 bucks! So of course I was forced to say yes and get new wipers. Not going back. Highway Robbery: I've been here plenty of times for oil changes and tire rotations. The service is friendly, fast, and they do good work - or so I thought. I have a slow leak in my back right tire. Not a big deal, I fill it up with air once every few weeks until the light comes on the dash again. I didn't even mention it to Valvoline because it isn't a big problem in my life. I went in to get my usual full-synthetic oil change and tire rotation. After dropping off the car and going to lunch with a friend I returned to find my car ready and waiting. Great! Like I said before, good fast service! Of course it was fast because even though I was charged for a tire rotation, it never happened. How do I know this you may ask? Well, not more than a few days later the low pressure light comes on my dash. Not a big deal, time to take ten minutes and fill up the tire. I check the front left, but it's fine, the back left is fine, and then the front right, also fine. The only conclusion I can draw is that I paid for a service that was never performed on my vehicle. I really don't even care about the measly $20 or whatever it was for the rotation, but the trust in this location is absolutely ruined. How do I know I even get the full synthetic 0w20 oil my car requires? It isn't like I can't go to one of the countless other quick lube locations around this area, and unfortunately now I am forced to. Stay away from this one. read more

Maybe they just didn't want their name attached to the inspection or something so they couldn't track who stole the sunglasses. My boyfriend went back to speak to management. The guys here have always been helpful and they get you out as quickly as possible. They explain possible additional services available but they aren't pushy about it. The technician also helped me get a coupon on my phone after I told him I forgot the little postcard at home. The waiting area is clean and inviting as is the surrounding property.
