During the first COVID lockdown, my family spent a few weeks with my mother in law in Emerald Isle. We had a mission to find the best iced mocha during this time. It is very rare that I will leave a poor or mediocre review; however, I just left this establishment and I can't help but be frustrated. I understand that a coffee shop is not meant to be a quiet place like a library or study room. That being said, when a family with 2 young children came into the shop glued to their tablets and kept turning them up and up, it became a bit annoying. The parents were oblivious because they were in a conversation with the owner. The owner only engaged in a lengthy conversation with these patrons instead of monitoring the environment for all patrons. I could be wrong, but I don't think most people want to hear the ching, ching, ching of a little kid's game for nearly an hour. I have 4 children, and I would not allow this out of consideration for other patrons. I only wish the owner would have realized this. read more

I liked this place and am happy that its a mom and pop rather than large chain. I gave a 4 only b my husband went a few days ago and there was only a woman and young (14ish yr old) girl making coffee. He said it was no bueno. So i said whatevs lets go again. Its cute, i had a yummy cheese/raspberry danish and he had another coffee. I loved it and he did as well. Glad we gave a second chance. Awesome place!!! Just came to the beach for a little day trip and found this little nugget. I loved the atmosphere and the owner was awesome!! I just got a coffee with a double shot of espresso so nothing very fancy but I like the taste of coffee and it certainly hit the spot. I usually go here for my Breve with Salted caramel and toasted almonds. I had a very bad experience today. This sounds like a first world problem, but the barrista was lazy and displayed terrible customer service. She spilled my order. Made a new one that was completely wrong. When I told her what my order was, instead of addressing it, she just added a flavor to make it right. She made it with almond milk, caramel then added the almond to make it "right". C'mon, I think she was hedging that I can't taste the difference. I can and I dumped outside. Terrible service. I was a barrista in Seattle and this business is not just about the coffee, it's about the experience you create for customers. You created a bad one today. read more

I came in here on a whim one mid-morning. I hadn't any coffee yet that morning so I stopped in to get an iced latte (my go-to at any coffee shop). There were only a couple of other people in there so it was a slow Thursday morning. The large iced latte I ordered was worth every penny! So delicious! The staff was incredibly friendly. Being a barista myself, it's always interesting to watch the way other baristas make drinks and set up their coffee bars. If I lived closer I would for sure be a regular! Highly recommend! read more

The coffee is pretty good but they do not roast it in house. The storefront seemed new and maybe just needs some time to really get going. I would go back again but nothing really stands out ab pop it the place. Right over the bridge is a sweet beans, I would recommend that if you wanted something special. But Atlantic Beach coffee has a solid cup, no frills. read more
