3.25 stars. Atlantic Sands is a nice venue albeit dated and needing a little TLC in terms of a renovation of some of the areas. I've been here twice now, first in October '22 and again this October for a work related conference. It's situated right on the boardwalk which is a big plus. The rooms I stayed in were clean and quiet. Parking is ample and there is plenty of street parking if the lot is full. Just be aware it's metered parking but October is off season so the ticket folks didn't come around. The conference provided breakfast and lunch which was made on site. It's your typical fare and a meh in my book. The Tiki lounge which is on the ground floor is nice but again dated. The conference provided dinner the first night which included a raw bar which was nice. The rest of the offerings were again average. Like I said it's a nice venue and you can't beat the location. A little bit of upgrading and improvements would make it a really nice hotel.

What a fantastic place for a wedding!! They (Joe and Mercedes) made sure everything was perfect at my sons wedding and were so polite and easy to work with. We had over 30 rooms booked for the weekend and all were pleased with the accommodations. This is not a Marriott so realize where you are. They are doing a fine job and will help in any way that they can. They also have a nice pool and beautiful views of the ocean. The beach is perfect and the boardwalk is so well kept. We fell in love with Rehoboth Beach and can't wait to come back and stay at the Atlantic Sands!

I was worried after reading the reviews of this hotel. But I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. I was greeted and checked in by very friendly staff. The hotel is divided in two. The ocean front side and the ocean view side where all the conference rooms are. I was on the ocean view side. The entire side seems to have been revamped a bit, new carpet paint etc. My room was nice and clean, new carpet, paint etc. Only complaint would be, if you were remodeling all the rooms, why didn't you remodel and replace the old faucets and shower head. The exhaust vent in the bathroom. was dirty and caked up a bit, as well. But other than those two things the room was fine. My balcony overlooked the road and other hotel but if I turned I could see the ocean. Most of the staff was extremely pleasant, I did run into a few employees who avoided eye contact and didn't want to say hello, but you get that everywhere. The restaurant and tiki bar were fun and enjoyable. Food was good drinks were good. The hotel's located directly on the boardwalk, and also in great walking distance to lots of the shops in main drag. The conference coordinators and help were great. They made sure it ran smoothly and they had everything they needed. So overall it was a good stay, nice room, and great location.

We stay here every time we are in Rehoboth and I will admit that the rooms are just Okay (my only "complaint") but you can't beat the location. It's close to everything in town. We park our car when we get there and don't get in it again until we leave. This past weekend we had our wedding in their ballroom and the sales and event staff did a fantastic job. I can't think of a single complaint. From the very first meeting over a year ago Joe and his staff have been top-notch and very attentive to detail. On the morning of wedding day we arrived to the ballroom and everything was already set up the way we asked. The ceremony was set up beautifully as well! I can't say enough about the food. It was EXCELLENT. Joe and Mercedes made the entire process relaxing and stress free. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a beach wedding. Thanks again for everything, Atlantic Sands!

Do not stay here. Housekeeping takes everything that is not nailed down, from leftover pizza to medication.

Ask the Community - Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center

If you had a choice- which section of the hotel would you request for your room?

I'm not sure which section, but I would recommend if you request oceanfront/ocean view you don't get a first floor room. The pool is right outside your balcony and there is little privacy. We went in the off season so it was ok, but otherwise I…

Hear me out with this review:…read more I have never stayed in a Bed & Breakfast house before and when I was initially trying to book somewhere to stay in Rehoboth Beach this was the first place suggested. The house contains rooms with private bathrooms and rooms on a floor with shared bathrooms. I was very hesitant to book at first when I read that I would have to "share" a bathroom. We just returned home after a 4 night stay here and we were more than satisfied! Tom, the house owner, is super kind, personable and hospitable. His other workers (Rayvn and Chris) are also so helpful and always get you what you need. You can request to have breakfast in the morning from a menu selection and they bring you your food out at the time you request to have it ready for you . Tom always came and checked up on us wherever we were sitting during breakfast to chat about random things, show us his puppy and ask us if we wanted more food or needed anything. The room we stayed in had a shared bathroom in the hallway (we stayed on the 2nd floor and other rooms shared 2 full baths and a half bath with us) and it was actually very clean. The staff did a good job replenishing towels each day and cleaning the shower/toilet/sink. Felt very comfortable here. We would love to try a room with a private bathroom (it was so booked up when we tried to get one initially so book way in advance!) I love that the beach was only a 4 minute walk and access to the main streets was only an alley walk away from the house. No complaints at all after this stay. When we sat out on the porch each morning and night, many people would walk by making comments about how pretty and interesting the establishment was. The interior of the house smells super good and is clean. Highly recommend staying here! Overall 5/5 stars and we will definitely be back next year

The whole "hotel" is actually an old motel that has been renovated to look modern but it's a scam. Check the square footage before you rent. Paid $250 a night for a tiny motel room pretty much. Breakfast? Hardly anything. The coffee machine was new but it took forever to make a cup of coffee. I can't imagine if there was a line of people waiting. I never felt so scammed and fooled in my life. Never again.

Because our priority was being as close to the beach as possible, we decided to take the gamble considering we're reasonable people who know what beach-town/beach-side hotels tend to be (a little weather-worn, ya know?). Upon entering the lobby, I was instantly impressed! It was clean, inviting, and smelled incredible (giving more of a luxury hotel vibe). Check in was a breeze, pulling into the driveway and garage for parking. Huge positive is having parking included for hotel guests and you're given a parking pass to hang on your rear view mirror during your stay. The front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly, making sure we had all the information for our stay and we were able to head right to our room. Upon arriving to our floor, you can tell the outer spaces are weather-worn (as expected), but our room was spacious with two queen beds, large dresser with deep drawers, mini fridge, plenty of space for luggage and rack for hangers, balcony with ample space and partial ocean view, small toilet/shower space but the double sink was a huge plus! From our whole stay, I think the only negative was that there was no shower liner in the shower so - after all four of us came back from the beach and showered all that sand off, the bathroom floor was soaked which I was worried about the kids slipping and falling, so we had to use extra towels to clean that up quickly. The room was clean and tidy with warm lighting options throughout. Our floor had a vending and ice machine right by the elevator which was clutch to keep us hydrated and cool our drinks during hot days. Remember, housekeeping service is only available upon request - pro tip: request it the night before the day you'd like your room cleaned, or latest by noon the day-of. I appreciated that we let them know too late one day but they called to let us know they could have someone come while we went out for dinner, which was thoughtful. The lobby area was clutch for us, especially with the restroom because our kids always had to go whether we were heading out or heading back in and "couldn't wait." There's also an Emblem coffee machine (which can make cappuccinos, French vanilla coffee, hot chocolates and more) and water fountain. During the day, they keep the lobby coffee table stocked with oranges or snacks which is a nice touch for grab and go. The beautiful murals lining the breezeway between the lobby and the boardwalk are stunning and I lovedddd the rocking chairs at the end of the breezeway; the perfect seat to watch the sunrise/sunset or people watch! Our family agrees that the biggest positive to the Henlopen is its proximity to the water and the boardwalk action! Beach access right across from the hotel feels more private and less crowded than the areas further down off of the boardwalk.
