Sunset behind the bridge

Loaded nachos exceeded our expectations. Moved inside to the bar to eat because the bugs/nats were bothering us. Sunset was awesome! No need to dress up, shirt, shorts and flips flops and your good.

Ive always wanted to visit this place passing it from the bridge and we finally decided to check it out. Parking is part of the park and costs $10 for out of state cars since there is beach access, $5 for DE plates. We were sat within 30 minutes and they had live music which was nice. This place is all about the view and vibe, great for drinks and hanging out but horrible if you want a decent meal. The food was not good, and I don't say this often. No one enjoyed their meal. The chips were from a bag, the salsa tasted blended up, no flavor in the guac, the cheese tasted like mac and cheese. The fish and chips was all breading but so clearly frozen and not fresh. If you need fries, ask for them double fried otherwise not cripsy and are stale. The coconut shrimp might have been the only ok thing but still wasn't fresh. Pretty disappointing. If we come back it'll be only for a drink.

Got a salad and a crush! Delicious food and drinks! Can't wait for summer to go back again! Sat outside and enjoyed the ocean view!

Bay cheeseburger with Hawaiian pasta salad

Big Chill is perfectly located with access from the beach. The atmosphere is 5-star worthy. Food, drinks and service are somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. My cheeseburger looked good but tasted pretty average and the pasta salad lacked any flavor whatsoever. But overall I do enjoy coming and love that I don't have to pack up on the beach before grabbing lunch. They also have games and Adirondack chairs in the sand pit. Overall a good place to stop for something to eat during a beach day.

Best ever south side nachos with shrimp

The food at Big Chill beach club is really good. The south side nachos with shrimp taste great and is my new favorite, the pickled  jalapeños were not too hot, the guacamole and sour cream dollops were really tasty, the queso black beans and house made salsa were just the right amount keeping the house made tortilla chips crunchy. The grilled sea bass soft tacos with red cabbage were good. The tropical salsa, & chipotle crema gave it extra flavor, but there needed to be more fish in the tacos. The side of crinkle cut fries were salted just right and very tasty. The outside seating is great, and the service is always great. I will be back to try other dishes.

What a wonderful location and the views are stunning. Service is good. It's breezy up top and anything not nailed down will blow away so be warned. The gulls can be a little annoying too. The food is good, nothing epic but definitely good eats. We had the kahlua pork sliders & calamari apps. We split the Mahi tacos which were really good. Key lime cake from a local baker was the best thing we ate.

Nachos with Chicken

Sometimes, while vacationing at the beach, you are blessed to find a hidden gem of a restaurant along the shores, other times you pay to park at a Delaware national park just to wait too long for subpar food and a forgettable experience all around: the latter would be the Big Chill. The drinks came out fast but they were not great. The margarita was as salty as if it was made with ocean water. The lemon crush was slightly less acidic than eating a lemon itself. We waited for what seemed like forever for the food to come out. And the unfortunate slow reveal left our jaws dropping for a lackluster presentation that was nothing short of disastrous, like someone had randomly dropped food on our plates, some of it half eaten or at least molested. The mahi tacos were okay in taste but disappointing for the cost. The worst part was the side of Hawaiian pasta salad, which I guess translates to "an embarrassingly small portion of plain, unseasoned pasta with bits of carrot" because that's all it was. Someone at our table got the burger which looked like dry beef patties from your local grocery store freezer. They didn't ask how well to cook the meat because the only choice was apparently "jerky." The crinkle cut fries seemed just like more frozen fare and lacked salt. Definitely not your typical boardwalk fry experience. The nachos were another sure bet for utter failure. The bottom layer of crumbled up chips on the plate made it look like the chef had clumsily rolled on top of them before getting up from his/her nap to finish cooking our meal. A pig could have conjured up a better fantasy of homogenous slop than what we witnessed here. At least the Big Chill did have a pretty cool sand pit area with games that we could have made better use of. Likely we could have gotten in 10 games of cornhole, 8 games of connect four, built a sandcastle and sung a medley of campfire songs while waiting for our sad meal to be brought to our table. Anyway, the atmosphere alone outshined everything else at least enough to warrant two stars. The Big Chill did nothing to warm our spirits. That is for sure. Hopefully this place gets its act together, or they bull doze it to make more room for natural beauty and wildlife.

Check in was easy and efficient and our room was in the adjoining house with a large great-room that was stunning available to everyone staying there with a fireplace, large kitchen, sitting area and dining table. I loved that their sign said to please vacate by 9pm bc our room was on the third floor directly across the hall from it and right beside the community half-bath servicing it and the room had no soundproofing at all. You could hear even minimal talking from that great room (and it doesn't have a door). That is my only complaint about this Inn. The provided breakfast daily was wonderful. The first day we had quiche and the second we had chocolate chip pancakes. All made fresh when you sit down and included sides, coffee, fruit, and yogurt. Really delicious and good quality and the staff were so nice. My husband is diabetic and they easily modified the options to meet his lower carb/sugar request. They also have daily evening tea with a sweet treat which is fun and coffee, tea, and lemon water are available all day and night. Our room was beautiful and looked exactly like the photos and the inn is so charming. Perfect landscaping, all common areas are so cute, and the location is to die for right on the beach, with access to the sand just steps from the lovely wrap-around porch. We were unlucky and it was basically a freezing Nor'easter the weekend we came, so we didn't get to enjoy the beach, the bikes, or any of the out door amenities - but we still found it charming and enjoyed both the Inn and the town. Hopefully, we can come back again in the fall and enjoy milder weather.

Amenities are great at no extra cost - I took advantage of their bikes and yoga mat! I love that they invite you to stay after check-out to continue to enjoy the property. And watching the sunrise over the water was the icing on the cake. Normally, their rates would be beyond my budget, but with the WinterEscape promotion of 20% off, it was very reasonable. I will definitely be back!

He was on point throughout our entire dinner from the first hello to the end. For starters we were served rolls with tri-butter ensemble, followed by the TR crab dip appetizer served with house made potato crisps. Decadent and creamy there was lump crabmeat in every bite. It is worthy to mention Ashore Resorts where Tide Room is located is a registered True Blue Restaurant that serves authentic Maryland blue crab. We also had the baby arugula and kale salad and it was cool with crisp greens. A well balance of the goat cheese gives this salad A+ for pre-dinner enticements. For beverages we had an array of selections - En Fuego, Cloud 9, and OC Old Fashioned. All were great, my old Fashioned was strong *wink! For dinner, we had the Blue Crab Truffle Carbonara, and the 10oz. A4 Wagyu Coulotte. Everyone enjoyed their entrées. A simple modification for my carbonara with gemelli instead of ziti was granted and I was a happy gal. I appreciate the balance of the pasta to crab ratio. Generously portioned this dish! The 10oz. wagyu prepared medium was a highlight... the marbling and that fat cap was incredible, it was so buttery tender. The ambience is bright and the open dining space welcomes loud chatter! Definitely book reservations if you can, and specify indoor/outdoor, by the window, and booths are best for couples no more than 2. Tide Room does a great job accommodating celebrations as there were several parties celebrating the night of my visit. Parking is onsite and some overflow is across Coastal Highway. The Bethany beach ocean suites (owned by Marriott) are located in the heart of Bethany beach with views of the water. It is a decent place to stay for a few days with a great location. However, the cost of over $600/night is absolutely absurd given the dismal service, lack of cleanliness and general lack of anything resembling luxury. We called before we came and were told the pool was closed. However they noted beach towels were available and beach chairs and umbrellas would be available daily starting at 8am. When we arrived we found no beach towels were available (except for purchase). We clearly own beach towels and would have brought them had we not been misinformed. We were also told upon arrival that the beach chairs aren't available until 10 AM. However I decided to ask the actual chair and umbrella employees who informed me that the start time was actually 9 AM. The front desk didn't seem to care (or note) that they were repeatedly given out false information. With young kids, that hour makes a difference. The lobby bathrooms were poorly maintained (trash on the floors, dirty toilet seats, and no toilet paper to be seen). The breakfast had a vast variety of foods but they were rarely restocked so you weren't able to actually enjoy many of them. Coffee ran out multiple times. Also flies ruled the school at the buffet. The floors were sticky and it is very clear that the hotel is understaffed (oh, and the staff talk to you about it...incessantly) Covid has changed the game for many businesses but unfortunately the Marriott is nowhere near what is should be.

Our waitress was good, the food and drinks were decent, it was crowded & hectic because of the game and my husband had previously asked 2 waitresses if they could get 2 of the tvs in front of us changed to the World Cup game. They said they would and after 20 minutes and the game having started, but the 2 tvs hadn't been changed. My husband asked another waitress if we could talk to the manager about the TVs getting changed. A few minutes later the manager came storming out, and asked in a very rude and aggressive tone of voice,"who's got a problem with the tvs?!" My husband started to try to ask about if it was possible to change the tv and he began yelling loudly and aggressively at my husband, in front of the entire restaurant that he would not change the tvs and wrongly accused my husband of yelling at his staff. My husband tried to talk calmly to this man, but he just yelled louder. Our entire table was somewhat traumatized and shocked by how verbally abusive this man was to my husband. My husband even stood up as the manager was yelling because he thought that this man was going to take a swing at him. This man should not have a job in customer service or management. I understand that it was a busy and hectic night but there is no excuse for being verbally abusive to your customers. My husband also tried to talk to the manager about 15 minutes later about the incident in hopes that he would be calmer and to clarify that he wasn't yelling at his staff, but the manager refused to speak to him, stating he was too busy. We have frequented this restaurant and brought large parties there in the past but as long as this manger continues to be employed at this restaurant we will no longer be attending, nor can we recommend it to anyone. As locals who live here full time and want to support local restaurants we are saddened to say this- but this manager ruined our night and left us with a very bad memory and taste in our mouths that we don't want to repeat. We would appreciate the opportunity to talk to the owner directly about this incident.
