I had been a long time client of the practice-well over a decade (of 2 dogs and a cat). I have noticed a difference in the practice over the last couple of years. While the receptionists are and always have been wonderful, my experience with the 2 new vets have been disappointing and lacking. It's been crazy going to any business in the time of COVID-19, and a vet is a big deal! We want our pup to feel safe and we couldn't even go in with him, or check out the waiting room/facilities. Thank god for Yelp and the glowing reviews. Made us feel really comfortable making a first time appointment here and they did not disappoint. We waited in the car while they came out to get our frenchie Carl, we all wore masks and gloves. Took payment over the phone. Very safe and professional. The doctor called us to get his history and then after the appt to give us a recap with action items. The main issue was with a limp he has off and on and based on her exam she did not think he needed hardcore medications but instead started him on a supplement. Also suggested we video tape the limo (why didn't we think of that?!). I like that they didn't upsell is to more expensive treatments. We also got 50% off as first time patients! read more

I have been a client with Atlantic for a few years now and I love them. The prices have gone up since my start there to which I just equated with them trying to stay profitable with the inflation of everything else. I work in a doctor's office so I know the cost of medical products and medication but recently it seems a little like they are trying to price gouge a bit. Some of the Doctors recently have seemed like they don't have time for us or can't be bothered. Some are like car salesmen tacking on unnecessary charges but it is usually offset by the nurses and receptionists there. The receptionist are exceptional, always bright and welcoming, and more patient than anyone could ask. The little colorful one with the fun earrings is our absolute favorite. She is always so kind to our pets, they all are! They love my furbabies like family. We love Atlantic and we are hoping they can get back on the 5 star track. Atlantic, give your girls some love they are a huge part of why we keep coming back! read more

I never write reviews, ever but we have had such a horrible experience with this vet that its important I share because no one should take their animal here. This is by far the absolute worst vet I have ever dealt with. They have absolutely no care at all for the animals and solely care about making money. First strike was trying to schedule her spay. They told us there were no appointments available until two months out and we should have known to schedule it ahead of time, which as first time dog owners how were we supposed to know? We ended up getting her spayed elsewhere. My dog also had a wet cough and was very ill and each appointment they had to check on her they completely rushed through. We had to force them to take x-rays of her chest because we knew something was really wrong. They found pneumonia and said "oh good thing you asked us to take an x-ray we found pneumonia but it is early onset but she will be ok with antibiotic." 3 days later she had gotten worse and we had to admit her to the hospital to stay for 3 nights where she had to be given fluids and antibiotic via an IV. The critical care doctors at the hospital looked at the same x-rays that were taken back at the vet (when they said it was early onset) and said she had full on pneumonia so we had to admit her right away before she had to go on oxygen. She then had to stay on antibiotic once she was discharged for two full months after that. Once we went to a brand new vet, we realized that Atlantic had never given her, her flu vaccine. When we called Atlantic to ask why she had never had that, they said they only do that if they are asked specifically by the owner. As a new dog owner we had no idea that we had to ASK the vet to give this vaccine as we assumed it was routine. The new vet made it a point to let me know that she was due for her flu vaccine. I am absolutely disgusted in the way they treat their patients and wish we had never taken our dog there. Think twice before bringing your animal here. read more

I was very pleased with this place. I had to take my 2 year old morkie to them because he was vomiting on Friday Memorial Day weekend. They were able to see my dog within 2 hours. I had gone to a few vets over the years for my dog who has suffered with slipped discs in his spine since the age of two. Typically would happen one to two times a year. Meds xrays tears and Ofcourse huge bills!!!! I finally had enough of my last vet who basically drained me emotionally and financially. I switched to Atlantic 1 year ago. Best thing I EVER did. They are clean, friendly, knowledgeable, way cheaper AND they switched my dog to a safer medicine that was never brought up from my old vet. 1 year later and NO problems with his back! We had several bad experiences here. First they left a needle in our dog's leg after surgery. Second, the technician let our blind dog walk right into the wall after we clearly told her he was blind. Third, we waited 4 days for the vet to get back to us regarding our foster dog's kennel cough. We've learned our lesson and won't be going back. read more

On vacation at the NJ shore we caught our cockapoo playing with a nightshade vine. We were unsure if he ingested any leaves or berries (which are incredibly toxic for dogs) and called the Atlantic Vet Hospital for guidance. It was not yet 9am (when they open) but they answered the phone and quickly assessed the situation. They took our dog immediately without an appointment and seemed as concerned as we were with his we'll-being. Staff was friendly and supportive and informed us every step of the way. We were visiting friends in NJ for a couple of months and our 10 year old Yorkie began have bright red blood in her stool. We were able to secure a same day appointment at 2 PM to meet with Dr. Richard Baumgartner and he could not have been more kind and professional. This office and facilitates were new, clean and state-of-the art. They followed up the next day with the lab results, all okay.
