I became hysterical and while in my car made a phone call to my vet saying that Mickey was in an emergency situation and I was on my way to the facility. I was told they were TOO BUSY to see him and I should take him to Brick or Toms River hospital. I am 80 yrs old and my mind couldn't even think of where another hospital was at this time. I called my son-in-law and he told me I was close to VCA Toms River Vet and to take him there. They went above and beyond for both my dog and myself. Unfortunately, I had to put my Mickey over the rainbow bridge. I was devastated. I felt that Calling all Creatures had no respect for me or my dog who were loyal clients for over 14 yrs. My dog and I deserved to be with the people who we knew and trusted. I expected that they would have called me on Monday to see how I Mickey was doing. I heard nothing from them. On Wednesday I finally received a call but only because unknown to me my granddaughter sent a letter speaking up on my behalf. I expressed how hurt, upset and devastated I was for what they did to my Mickey. They had no compassion or caring for him in his time of need. This was and is unacceptable to me. No pet who is in their care should ever be treated with such disrespect. My disappointment for the way we were treated will cause me never to put another pet in their care.

And I do not know how a vet can determine my dog needs a second surgery without an actual Xray. It is a free country and I am entitled to my opinion. I am going to my own vet (who I trust) to take a look at my dog. I also know of a very reputable vet in PA who does the same surgery for less money (if my dog needs it). Yes, I am on a budget... not ashamed to admit that. And if there is an alternative method to treat the other leg, I will explore that. The last thing I expected to hear was that my dogs other leg needed surgery after 10 weeks of recovering from the last one. I was upset.. crying a a matter of fact. For a recent visit in May 2026, I made an appointment and, when I showed up at the designated time, I was told there was no record of the appointment, but the veterinary technician said, "We can fit you in." So I was on time for a scheduled appointment, but she was going to "fit me in." I was there in July 2026 for what was supposed to be just a $76. Solensia injection for my senior cat. I arrived more than an hour early, expecting to wait, but the vet technician was ready to take her just a short time later. I said I would like to be with the cat when she received the shot and the vet technician (who is the doctor's wife) said, no, we just take her in the back and give her the injection. I insisted on being with her and the vet technician became agitated and snapped at me, "Well, you can wait for your appointment time then!" She told me that if they were administering an examination, I could be with the cat, but not if she was only getting an injection. So when they brought us in, I wondered why my cat was being examined, when all I did was bring her in for a Solensia injection. She was apparently being given an examination that I never asked for just because I insisted on being with her. After it was all over, I was charged $155. for a Solensia injection plus an examination I never wanted, when all I went in for was the injection for $76. On the way out, after I paid more than twice the cost of the injection alone that I requested, the receptionist said, "See you next month for the Solensia." No, you won't.
