We visited for Sunday brunch, and the menus sounded very appealing. The decor was upscale, and the location was excellent. However, I need to point out that the service could be improved. It appears that waitstaff might benefit from extra training. They have great potential, but it's disappointing when the service isn't up to par. The food was adequate. Some of us received our orders quite late. They offered us desserts as compensation, which was a kind gesture. The waitress brought the dessert menu while we were still finishing our main courses, and it was pretty clear that the waitstaff seemed somewhat lazy. Maybe they're used to the busy summer months, but since it's winter and slower, I hope they focus more on improving the service in the future. read more

My family was the first table to be sat when they opened at 12, with a party of ten of us It took over 40 minutes to receive just our drinks alone, and appetizers didn't come out for almost an hour and a half. We were beyond confused what could be taking THAT long considering there wasn't really anyone there at that point. By the time the entrees came out, half of the orders were just straight up wrong, half the food being ice cold, and then forgetting my meal all together and i was the bride. Our waitress seemed all over the place, rarely coming to ever check on us. Took almost an hour to get the bill and the manager is trying to charge us for literally everything, knowing we sent back half the food ( which I've never in my 35 years of life EVER had to do ever ) and how upset we were. I'm not sure what's happening here because it's the only restaurant on the boardwalk, it's stunning inside, and when the food actually came out it wasn't half bad. The whole 9! The food is really tasty and presented in the "fancy" way. The menu is on the large side and they also had a specials menu with seasonal dishes. The other ratings all add up. The service needs a ton of work. Some of the staff need lessons on how to be professional and friendly. As with our server there was a lackluster approach to connect and give suggestions on the menu. On top of all of that, the wait for our dishes ((apps and entrées)) was close to 30min each. They also forgot a few of our drinks and dish orders. We recently dined at the gorgeous Atlantica Restaurant (inside the Allegria Hotel) for Mother's Day brunch , and the jaw-dropping ocean views, coupled with our delicious brunch plates, made this one-of-a-kind experience worthwhile. The beach always speaks to my soul, and I love Long Beach, so I knew that the oceanic ambiance and Atlantic vistas were going to only amplify our brunch outing. (The sun-kissed water was extra blue, calm, and sparkly during the late morning hours, too!) I ordered the "Huevos Al Gusto" -- a simple -- but beautifully refined -- plate of eggs over easy, crispy and spicy breakfast potatoes, and sausage. My boyfriend ordered Huevos Rancheros that looked like a beaut of a dish, and my mom ordered breakfast tacos in pancake 'shells' that she could not stop complimenting for its sweet and savory flair. Drinks too a while longer than they should have due to the bar being very busy. No complaints about the food. Not spectacular but everything was pretty good. Clams. Oysters. Charcuterie. Burgers. It was not a good stay. On Saturday around noon, we entered the restaurant, and we approached the hostess WAS ATROCIOUS. My husband and I were taken to a table and seated over looking the water. We were there about 40 minutes talking and no one came to our table they sat others after us and received a server who took their order, brought them water, like what should have been done for us. I approached the hostess who walked pass us numerous times not even looking at us. I mentioned no server came to our table and so she said she would get us a server. 30 minutes goes by no one came by. A young lady (server) stopped by the table behind us and serviced them without acknowledging us. Finally I asked for her to get the manager, the manager came out and apologized for everything. Said he would comp our meals and drinks. ( my wife had a glass of wine and I had an an unsweet ice tea.) The manager asked what we would like to drink and brought it out immediately, and said he will get the food out right away. Another 30-40 min. goes by and no food so I ask for the manager again and with in about 10 minutes we had our meals. The whole ordeal took over 2 hrs to get service and our lunch. So to sum it up the hostess forgot to tell a server we were here. The GM forgot about us, and need I say more One more thing, I approached the t hotel manager on duty at the front desk. And explained everything, he told he told me at that point he would not charge us the resort fees. And said he had removed them, however when we checked out the fees were put back on or he never removed them. I was done with complaining. Everybody I spoke to LIED to us. Nice interior with good vibes, the full service bar was packed (mid November) which was surprising, & the restaurant was pretty crowded as well. *APPS* -Clam & Corn Chowder: 3.5/5, one of the better dishes ordered. Good flavor, not overly creamy or thick. It was more of a thin soup which I liked. I would get it again. -Crab Cake: 4/5, this was the biggest crab take I've gotten which we were happy about. Lightly fried with good flavor. Not overly fishy at all which was great. The mango salsa it was served with was very good as well. -Popcorn Shrimp: 2.5/5, the shrimp was alright. The batter they were fried in seemed to be really heavy and after a few pieces really started to weigh on me and make me feel gross. They were alright, but to me seemed like bagged frozen shrimp that was pre-deep fried. *ENTREES* -Chicken Milanese: 2.5/5, first words were "this chicken tastes like frozen Costco chicken" so not very impressive. Very bland and the quality of meat seemed to be low. Without the arugula it wouldn't have been enjoyable at all. -Shrimp Tacos: 3/5, I was reallyyyyy hoping the shrimp was going to be grilled after feeling gross from the popcorn shrimp but unfortunately it was the same stuff. Two tacos that were stuffed with fried shrimp some lettuce and pickled onions. I couldn't really enjoy these because I was sick of the fried food at this point but they weren't bad. Overall, the waterfront dining experience was nice. For the price though I was expecting better quality food. The portions were good but the quality just wasn't great. The drink I ordered was gin based and I'm 99% sure what I got was a glass of makers mark on ice so I had a very difficult time enjoying that. We were offered a complimentary dinner in lieu of a tasting due to our smaller wedding package and our dinner was excellent, as was the service. In December it was beautiful and quiet. My fiancé said that the salmon he ordered was one of the largest pieces of fish he'd ever seen in a restaurant. We've also previously had great experiences at the L'Onda Bar during the summer. We were seated and the waitress came over about 20 mins later to take a drink order. About 30 mins after that, some drinks arrived some didn't. Getting the idea service was beyond terrible, we ordered all of our dinners and apps at once trying to get ahead. 5 people total, 5 meals, 3 appetizers. All came out at different times, the 3 appetizers (3 Cesar salads) had rotten lettuce and were dry. No one said a word as we were hungry, we let it pass. One dinner arrived with the appetizer and it was wrong. Another dinner came out, wrong again. Waitress didn't even remember the table. Complaint was made to manager, he offered a glass of wine. If the service was better, they would have made a lot more money off of us as we were hoping to have more than 1 drink. Place sucked, will never recommend and will never go back again. Waste of money, we could have easily walked out on the bill and no one would have noticed, not a care in the world. We asked to speak to management and were told that it would delay our food more. If you are looking for a romantic restaurant with an oceanfront view, this place is for you. As per suggested by a friend, and with the help of a groupon voucher, we tried this place one weeknight for a dinner. We stayed on a public bench in front of the restaurant along the boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic ocean while waiting for our reserved seating time. It was worth driving to the place. Very relaxing and comforting. When we walked in the restaurant, my husband and I were in awe with their decorations. We were seated right away as we said we had a reservation. Our voucher was honored and experienced the best service even for the discounted price. We were expecting a different treatment and I salute the wait staff for the good service rendered. Food and wine were good. My husband had braised chicken and I had pan-seared scallop. The chef did an exceptional job to our entree as well as of course to our appetizer, grilled octopus and tuna tartare. We enjoyed our sumptous dinner. After dinner, we helped ourselves looking around the rest of the hotel building, they had an oceanfront bar and lounge that I find so appealing. We tried to go to the rooftop area but was not avaiable during our visit time. I assumed it would have a beautiful sight as well to behold. It was a such a fancy night. It was Friday night, so they had a woman playing guitar, but she was way too loud even though we were nowhere near her. It didn't help that all the food is overpriced. ($26 for a mediocre burger?) If I could I would rate this over-priced restaurant a 0. Truly awful experience. I had a late lunch there last Saturday with my wife and four friends. The place was empty. After being seated towards the back at a nice spot, I immediately learned that the Chicken wrap on the already limited lunch menu was out of stock. We basically all ordered hamburgers, which took about 30 minutes to arrive. Even the drinks (mainly ice tea) took about 20 minutes. The service was awful. If we needed anything we got it ourselves. The prices were was too high ($20 for an average burger and fries). And, no surprise, my coffee was cold and the server did not bother to bring milk or sugar. I had to get it myself. After sitting and relaxing with our food for about 20 minutes we were told we needed to move to the bar within the next 15 minutes because the table was reserved for dinner. Again, the place was empty. Had it been just my wife and myself, I would have asked to speak to the manager. But I did not want to make a scene with my friends and we left. Those burgers and fries for four people, plus drinks and coffee came out to $160. What a ripoff! Earlier this week I called the manager, who offered me a discount on our next visit. Um...NO. There will be no next visit. He should have offered a free meal. And my advice is to STAY AWAY from Atlantica restaurant. Just AWFUL! read more

We read bad reviews and I had eaten there a few years ago (and have not been back since) -- we decided brunch is not hard to mess up, let's give it another try. The hostess was super friendly, and didn't mind one but when I asked to sit by the window facing the boardwalk. Ren was our waiter - he was super attentive, filled my mimosa and water regularly before it was empty and exceeded typical waiter service in LB! Our fresh oysters and shrimp cocktail was out very quickly. The basket of pastries was super fresh. The croissant and muffin were my favorite The buffet itself was great! I had scrambled eggs, French toast, potatoes, eggplant rollatini, and a blueberry pancake. My fiancé had an omelette (which he said was really good), the staff told him to try the ribs (he said it was so good)... I can't recall what else he on on his plate, but we enjoyed the brunch. The cupcakes were our favorite desserts.. we had a few different flavors. Every staff member in the dining room was friendly and on point. I didn't expect this great of service! Simply the worst experience. I made a reservation a month ago and they double booked my group of 10 people. We set by the bar with horrible service. The manager, Mike Frey, needs to learn hospitality and customer service 101. The staff was very inexperience and unable to provide basic service to our group. The list of issues is quite extensive and as a manager he should have handled the situation much better. Asking the staff to lie about his name, walking away when a customer is expressing their discontent about the issues during the dinner service, to not knowing how to apologize was very frustrating. I will not only go back, I will never recommend this place. Other guests from adjacent tables were joking about how the their experience has been equally negative. I hope upper management take a closer look at their restaurant customer service as I guarantee this is not an isolated issue. read more
