The elevator in our condo building worked beautifully for decades until it finally died. Atlas "repaired" it. Ever since, it has repeatedly stopped working, usually during non-business hours, and Atlas charges a pirate's ransom to repair it. read more

I am a contractor who purchased an ATLAS PRODUCED Outdoor Ameriglide elevator on behalf of my client, which we installed. The unit was promised to be plug and play ready to go by a Salesman named Chris Johnson. Once it arrived we discovered several issues with it. To start, the install instructions were very basic and did not match the unit. Many of the holes in which to put screws to assemble the unit did not line up. the wiring was certainly not plug and play, with male/female plugs for various connections that did not match each other. After cobbling the assembly together and many calls to their tech support with whom you have to make an appointment and wait, we discovered several connections had been wired wrong in the factory. Replaced the Main controller board, and it finally worked, briefly. Then another connection that was wired wrong was discovered because a grounding wire burned up. we had to replace the travel cable, all batteries, all push buttons, and chargers. Then it worked again for a while but intermittently. And then it just stopped again, this time with an 80 year old lady inside it in 90 degree heat, and she couldn't get out because the manual release locks for the doors require a flat blade screw driver and a pretty strong hand. Then, more troubleshooting. Finally after discovery of water collecting iin the door and gate locks and shorting the unit out, we fixed the problem this time. Let's keep in mind that the door locks collect water and this is designed to be an outdoor unit. We had to drill holes in them to get the water to drip out. Also, the elevator itself leaks water into the cab, so try not to use your outdoor elevator while it is raining. With the unit working now, I have been asking for a decision maker in the company to call me to discuss reimbursing my expenses for the many hours that myself and my electrician worked to correct manufacturing defects. CRICKETS!! NO CALL TO ME. NOTHING! A phone call to the company asking to speak to a manager or president yields nothing other than a nice lady who says she will pass on the message and that she cannot release contact information for higher up people. I did get an email for the president of Atlas which is the company that owns Ameriglide, and I sent him an email, but no reply, and attempts to send additional emails are now blocked to his email address. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE!! read more

I strongly recommend never using this company! Don't even call for a service Inquiry - it will be a very expensive mistake! They charge you $210 per hour (1 hour minimum) and add on their travel time at $210/hr. plus add on a 'fuel surcharge'! So, even a 10 minute evaluation will run you over $210+! I had a great experience with Atlas and Aaron today. My elevator suddenly went out of service. Aaron was very responsive to me, and what I thought was great was that he wanted me to send him a video of the elevator so that he could determine If he had parts etc. I appreciated that transparency. The tech was on time and it took all of 30 min to assist. He then took the time to educate me on what NOT to do so this problem would not occur again. I appreciate the time! read more

I had this company come out to look at our elevator. The first time the tech was onsite for about 45 minutes and I saw he wrote 2 hours on the invoice. I immediately called him out on it and he edited it to 1 hour. We needed to have our "Call" buttons up top and below replaced. He estimated it would be about 2-3 hours of work but needed to order in the parts. 4 TRIPS LATER he finally finished the work.. Then they sent me the bill.... For 3 hours of labor and $188 in parts I was billed over $2,000.00 -- These people are crooks. Before I saw the above bill we had an emergency where we had handicap people on the 3rd floor and the elevator would not work. I called them to come trouble shoot it. They said it would be $290/hr for an overtime tech to come out. I agreed. The tech was onsite for 35minutes. After 35minutes -- I got a bill stating 2 hours. When I inquired they told me I had to pay for DRIVE TIME too... At $290/hour... I have NEVER HEARD of such a thing. Especially when I am already paying $290/ hr for the actually service.. Time to find a new elevator company... This company is a joke. read more

By far the worst of our vendors when building a new home with an elevator. We had problems with our elevator from the moment we moved into our custom home. Spent thousands of dollars for nothing with this company. Come to find out when I finally found an outstanding company to address my elevator that the install was done so poorly that within less than 2 years, metal has warped, shoes have gone bad, and even screws weren't tightened properly. This company is not only has a horrible crew of techs, the receivables dept. overcharges and double charges. They also have the audacity to not return your call when your elevator isn't working at all and flake on service calls. If I could provide a negative star that would be most appropriate. In not sure how they are on business. After looking at other reviews on this platform, I wish I had done more diligence with vetting their credibility before using them. Absolutely a disappointment and highly unsafe to use them. read more

Beware of this company. They came out service our elevator several times, and we continued to have the same issues. We were told we needed to retrofit the control panel for $18,000.00 plus dollars. The elevator still didn't work - in fact it didn't work as well as it did before this was done. They came out several times after, and the elevator still does not work. I spoke with the owner, who promised I would hear back from them. I have not heard back from them. I needed the elevator to work, so I called another company. Please do not hire this company, unless you want to feel cheated and frustrated! read more

First, I want to say that this company has some good hard working employees that are trying to get the job done right. However, The length of time this is taking has become a problem. I first called with my lift not working around July 7. We are in mid November. They said my previous lift was too old and needs replacing. They can do this in 6 weeks. Then, 3 weeks to get a bid from them. I nearly went with a company out of Los Angeles. Then Ryan was promising 4 to 6 weeks for installation from this point. As that time passed, Ryan was no longer at the company. I realized the lift has not even been ordered. Bob replaces Ryan. Bob is doing his best, but we have had some communication failures. I did all my prep work. Concrete done, electrical as per their request. They are now done installing the lift and now he told me I need to run another circuit so that they can install an interior light to pass the inspection. Why they did not tell me weeks ago, I don't know. They told me back then I MAY need to run another circuit. I said, you need to tell me right away so I can get on this and not delay this project. That did not occur. They waited until they were done with everything else. Ugh! The quality of the work appears to be good. They did take good care in getting a lift that looks good in this location. The crew is friendly. But I can't say things went great. Under their new leadership, I hope they grow and become a better business. The 4 to 6 week project took 18 weeks. I am hoping this is their exception and not their norm. read more

I used Atlas elevator for the first time and it was absolutely horrible. First off, I called on a Thursday and they didn't call back until Monday. Secondly, they came out couldn't even diagnose the problem because they didn't have an extension ladder. Yes, that's right an elevator company who doesn't have an extension ladder on all its trucks. Then when they did come back they had to call another person out to help and didn't have the battery it need on hand (they were told on the first call that it was probably the battery backup). So now we are on the third trip, and its finally fixed. And through all of this, they did not once communicate on how much this was going to cost! At the end, they charged me for 3 trips and the battery, for a total of $1200.00+. After much discussion, they took off just one trip. Taking it down to $900.00+. Then they went on to tell me how they are the cheapest in town because they are non-union. I used Ottis Elevator in the past and they came out and fixed it in one trip within the price quoted. Lets just say Ottis will be getting my business from now on. read more

we had atlas elevator give an estimate on fixing a dumbwaiter. they weren't clear that they would charge us for a service call when they came out to give an estimate, and we were surprised to get a substantial bill (including a fuel surcharge). we called them to question the bill; there was no flexibility, and they would not apply that amount towards an actual repair job. from the other reviews, it looks like we're not the only ones who have been surprised by a questionable bill and poor customer service from these guys. read more
