While there were no toddler friendly utensils, they do offer booster seats and the wait staff were absolutely amazing and so patient with our little one. Thanks so much! They offered to split our lobster bisque so we could each have our own. We've also tried their tableside salad and desserts before and enjoyed the shows. My toddler wanted to get a closer look. The ambience is moody with high ceilings, low lighting, and plush seats. There is a constant buzz of conversations around us to provide a bit of intimacy and privacy to our conversations, while also allowing our toddler to be just a bit rowdy without feeling like we are disturbing the other guests. Of the food, I love the mushroom side with the truffle fondue. I wanted to dip everything in it as it was so flavourful and delicious. Complimentary bread with butter and blue cheese butter were offered to start. The brussel sprouts side was also unique with the added pistachios and a crisp for some crunch. The hearty mussels and clams starter were great for a rainy evening. Portion was enough as a meal by itself, too! There is a covered parking lot for those driving. Located at the Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby, free parking available in the casino lot across the street, but be warned that it's dirty as hell & smells terrible. Went with a few of girlfriends for a girls night out dinner. Great comfortable ambience and the service were awesome. We ordered 3 entrees and some appetizers to share We tried the spicy lobster spaghetti, Josper smoked chicken breast and beef tenderloin My personal favorite of the night was definitely the smoked chicken breast. I did expect the chicken breast to be slightly dry cos of the lower fat content and the cooking procesd. But it was not. the pomme puree added so much flavor to the dish. But the downside was the glazed carrots were a bit to the raw side. will benefit from cooking a bit longer. I am not usually a potato fan but i have the say the mashed potatoes was very well done. Went here to celebrate a but day and the food was excellent. We had the dine out Vancouver menu. When the food came everyone was silent just savouring their meal. The portions were really good too. No one left feeling hungry which I appreciate when fine dining. Each course was flavourful and I took my time savouring each bite. We all felt the same and wanted to return for another occasion. I have been here a few times and the place is great for dates, special occasions and even work functions. I like the soft warm lighting and ambience and depending on where you are seated, can create an intimate dinner at night. The service is consistently good and the servers do remember you, despite dining here 1-2x a year. They use Josper grill which I love as the meat tends to be tender without losing the flavor. Almost everything I've tried here are good. The wedge salad is huge and so fresh. Best to share if you're also getting a main. The cioppino is delicious. There is also baked Alaska which is like a dying dessert now as not many places serve it. Happy hour menu is small and simple. The highlight will be the 1/2 priced oysters ($2 each in Dec 2024, used to be $1+) and lobster roll (tiny but yummy). I had my birthday celebration there last night. Unfortunately, we were taken to our table by the manager who came across as unwelcoming, that it was chore for him to bring us to our table. A smile would have been nice...cold as a clam. Sadly, that was our first impression. Thank goodness he wasn't our server. Our server was friendly and things were picking up...the rest of the staff looked really unhappy. We ordered oysters during happy hour. Every single one of them had shards in them. None of them were shucked properly. Then we ordered our meals. The mushroom risotto was tasteless. The seafood jambalaya was good except the white fish in the middle. It had no taste. The bread for our table was good. The prime rib sliders were good. The lobster roll and tuna rice crackers were strange. The lobster and tuna were cold and the roll and rice crackers were hot. Bringing them out when the temperatures of each part matched each other would have probably helped. We appreciated that our water glasses were filled at all times. A big turn off was how often the service staff came by to ask if we were finished with our meals...minimum 5 times. Within minutes of each other. There was still food on our plate and we're holding our forks. What part of that says that we were done with our meals? My recommendation would be to go to Atlas if you want to have some happy hour food. I wouldn't recommend it for a full dinner. It felt very institutionalized and sterile, much better to go somewhere where the staff and managers treat you with warmth, know how to make someone's birthday extra special and not treat you as "less than". I walked out of there not wanting to ever go back or recommend it to any of my friends and family. read more

Went for dinner on Friday, it was our first time here. We waited for a server to come by to greet us and take our drink orders for about 15 minutes, we asked someone passing by if they could send our server over. Ordered bottle of Burrowing Owl Merlot and some cocktails. Being a steak house, we ordered a Tomahawk Steak, a great steak. Steak came and server prepared a peppercorn sauce table side. When it was all server first bite of steak it was ice cold. I'm certain that it had been removed from cooking at the correct temp (Med rare), then left to rest perfectly. I think then things went off the rails, likely cut prematurely and took too long to serve after it was cut. Unfortunately, for the price you pay for a Tomahawk steak this was unacceptable. This was not the worst part of it all, manager came over, and the offer was to wait an hour for another (not realistic), finally she offered a gift card (seemed more reasonable),it gets better. We finished our wine and ordered some Bananas Foster(good), server asked if we wanted the steak packed, we were like OK. Bill came everything was on the bill including the Tomahawk Steak for $175. We asked to speak to the manger and asked for clarification, manager explained that gift card $100 gift card for our next visit, but we were taking Steak home, we should pay for it, Wow! Ok so facility provides unacceptable food, customer is expected to pay for item, pay taxes and gratuity on it and then come back another time to use gift card that doesn't cover the item they messed up (steak) plus again pay for taxes and gratuity hoping restaurant gets it right. It didn't feel right so we asked for a full refund of steak and that we would not be taking it home, shockingly we were asked for the gift card. So, for poor food quality and poor service, equals no consequences for this restaurant. There are only a few items on their Happy Hour selection which was a bit disappointing. Both for food & drink. I would like to return to try their regular menu though. Half Priced Oysters - these were tasty but there are better & cheaper places for oysters in my opinion. I mean $11 for half dozen small oysters is steep, I think. Warm Prime Rib Bun - Cute mini slider size brioche bun with some juicy pieces of rib rib in between. On the mini side so you probably need about 2 or 3 to really get the idea of eating a full meal. Hand Rolled Meatballs Marinara - 2 large meatballs sitting in Marinara with a slice of garlic toast. This is probably the most filling and offers a nice protein kick. Even for a happy meal, still left with a steeper than expected bill. However, taste was great and no real complaints about the experience. The atmosphere here is really nice, with dimmed lights and live piano music although it's a bit loud from other tables. Their service was decent, but when we asked for help the other waiter ignored us and I guess we could only ask our own server? ‍ The crabcake was very rich and flavourful with pieces of crab meat, and I even bit into a shell. The porterhouse on the other hand, wasn't tender at all and it was really hard to chew. The quality of the meat just isn't there compared to many other steakhouse. the potatoes sides were good though. The star of the dishes were these mushrooms with truffle. They have a special oven, which I believe is 1 in 5 within the word (or something like that.). Anyway, we were seated next to the pianist and he was playing all 2000 songs. We tried Atlas for the first time! The ambiance and interior was really nice. There was a pianist playing which was amazing. The server and service was great! You can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen as it's open and the food came out in a timely fashion. The brûlée goat cheese bruschetta was to die for and the cowboy rib steak's flavour blew us out of the park! Everything else was delicious as well. Weighing down the food... I came here a couple of times when it was first opened and one time at the Langley location. It has been so long I can't even remember how everything was. This place is located inside the hotel and right beside the casino on the 2nd floor. There are plentiful of free parkings across the street in its parkade, or if you are lazy and want to save a few walking steps there are pay street parkings. Upon entering the restaurant, it has that hotel restaurant atmosphere and vibe; bar with piano and live music up front, dining area to the back with an open kitchen beside it, washrooms are located between the casino and restaurant. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Dinner buns. Nice hot little buns made in house (complimentary) 2. Lobster bisque. It came hot, a seared scallop with caviar in the middle, the bisque itself was rich and flavourful. Pretty good. 3. Spanish stuffed calamari. In my mind I pictured it as a nice tender juicy pan seared squid but in reality it was like eating one of those shredded dried squid you buy at an Asian market, failed! 4. Salt Spring Island mussels and clams. The sauce was tasty, rich and went well with the bread but lack of sauce therefore all the mussels and clams on top were dried like raisins. (Not just this place but a lot of restaurants should stop doing this shallow sauce thingy). 5. King crab legs. Okay whoever the chef was in preparing this, please understand cooking seafood 101! DO NOT grill already cooked or frozen crab or crab legs, you will DRY them into tree branches!!! For the love of God, what waste of $65 for this, it was literally like trying to chew on thorny tree branches especially when the crab legs weren't even pre-cut. I took it home and dumped it, this was one ultimate failed of a dish! (Not being dramatic, can zoom into the pictures for reference). 6. Seafood mixed grill. First choice was the seafood tower which I should've ordered, instead ordered this dish. It was nothing more than butter dried up seafood and the soft shell crab turned into a hard shell crab with mayo. (Why mayo?!??). 7. Truffle tenderloin. The kitchen kind of screwed up and brought it out during the same course as the seafood so had to try to manage to eat here and there. The sauce was a bit too salty and overpowered the steak. Plus it would've been nice if the truffles were shaved instead of like shredded cheese. I got a tiny table by the lounge area instead of the dining area because I didn't make a reservation. I supposed not too bad listening to some live piano musics up front. The service by the bartender was amazing with his service. I tipped the 30% mainly for the wonderful service the bartender/server provided throughout the duration of the meal. As for the food, definitely needed some major changes and adjustments because I would be pretty embarrassed to serve some of them regardless of the higher price or not. Way below any standards, weighing down on the food, I would say overall it's a failed! P.S. nevertheless, credit is where credit is due. Thank you for taking the calamari off the bill for the steak mixup. But I did put the amount back on top of the tip. (Wink!) read more

We ordered the tomahawk steak and enjoyed a complementary table side fire show when our waitress made the black peppercorn sauce for the steak. We also got free brioche bread to start with. For Valentine's Day, my husband and I decided to go to Atlas Steak + Fish, one of our favourite restaurants. Despite booking nearly a month in advance, the only time slot we could get was 4:45pm on Saturday February 13th (although we managed to push it back when a 5:15pm slot opened up). One advantage to having an early seating is that we were there during happy hour (which had been extended to 6:30pm), so we were able to get cocktails and wine (of which we had several glasses) at their happy hour prices. For dinner, we went with their Valentine's menu: a glass of sparkling wine, tomato bisque soup as an appetizer, a steak and seafood platter to share (we added on a mushroom side), and for dessert, chocolate ganache torte and Baked Alaska. Located on the second floor in the Delta Hotel/Grand Villa Casino, this hidden gem is one of my new favourite steak houses. The restaurant is large and spacious, with modern decor and is a great place to have a nice meal, or to visit on a special occasion. Have tried many items on the menu, but my favourite items are still the warm baby kale and spinach salad where the dressing is flambéd table side, calamari, tomahawk steak, blue cheese gnocchi, and baked Alaska. Every meal is served with freshly baked table bread and blue cheese butter. I'm not a fan of blue cheese, but I'm coming around because of Atlas! I rarely ordered salads when I'm out, but this one is so good - there's like 13 ingredients in the dressing from shallots, shitakes, and sun dried tomatoes. Dressing is delicious and nice to have the salad warm and slightly wilted. The calamari body comes grilled in their Josper oven and tentacles fried, served over a tomatoes based sauce, and goat cheese toasties. Smokey, sweet, tangy and savoury a perfect balance of flavour. The star of the meal is of course the 48oz tomahawk steak. This required a wait of about 30-35 minutes, but it is worth it! Comes served presided on a platter over roasted potatoes, a delicious Madagascan green peppercorn sauce, and a side salad. The steak is deliciously charred and Smokey, and pairs perfectly with the sauce. At $130 this is definitely an item for a special occasion, but if you can afford it I highly recommend it! The blue cheese gnocchi is a little denser than normal, but is still fluffy and soft, and the blue cheese is not overpowering - and this is coming from someone who doesn't enjoy blue cheese! Situated inside Delta Hotel by Marriott Burnaby Conference Centre, this place has been one of my go-to dining places for years. I went for their dineout menu this year. My overall dining experience was pleasant and unique. The highlight of the menu is the desserts! The Raspberry Lemoncello Tart was exquisite and unique. The raspberry sorbet was refreshing and the almond meringue balanced out the lemoncello. For the entrees, I recommend the Maple Cured Salmon Steak (ask for medium). I little bit of a whirlwind on this visit. We didn't have a reservation ion, so we were told the wait would be about 45mins. That's cool, we'll kill some time at the casino. 45 mins pass and I don't feel like losing anymore, so I check on the wait. No table available yet and I'm getting hangry. Thankfully, a table opened up about ten mins later and we were seated. The place was busy and the staff wasn't nearly as attentive as our previous visit. It took some time before our server got around to us. She was pleasant enough, but it would be a while before we saw here again. 45mins later, we ask about our food and are told it's coming in a couple mins and our server gave us a salad on the house to keep us busy. Another 15mins pass and I'm no longer hungry. I wave down some staff and let them know we were going to leave and are okay with paying for the salad. The manager gets involved and insists we stay. He offers what sounded like 50% off our meal and genuinely seemed apologetic. He says the food is moments away and being exhausted and not wanting to make it a big deal we stay. The food arrives with plenty of apologies. I ordered the cioppino and it looks and smells delicious. My wife ordered the tomahawk pork chop and it look delightful. As for the taste? Fantastic. No problem with any of the food itself. In fact, we both liked it so much we'd likely order the same again. Once our dinner was complete, our server gave us a light dessert to again apologize for the lengthy delays. I really appreciate the team trying to make things right. I only wish I was more hungry, cu I think it would have tasted even better. So now here's where things get weird. We are told by our server that the manager has approved again what sounded like 50% off. I guess I was wrong. It was 15% off and the server only reduced the price of one of our dishes. I can't be bothered to deal with this and pay the bill. I wanted to give a lower star rating, but everyone ultimately tried to do their best to make a bad situation better and I really appreciate that. It's a tough going right now in the food and beverage industry. With that in mind, I give them five stars for the team's effort. Let's just not let the lengthy wait happen again, ok? read more

Even the couple behind us who were regulars were asking if they were short staffed. At this point happy hour was almost over and we had not gotten to order yet. We tried the oysters, which for a steak and fish restaurant I was disappointed that they were quite small. We started with half a dozen and later ordered another half dozen, but because we were a few minutes out of the window we were charged full price for those. They did come out with a nice dry ice display with them which was fun. We also tried the prime rib slider and lobster and shrimp roll which were very good. Strong on the truffle flavor for the prime rib slider, but it was still good as it was quite tender and seasoned well. The lobster and shrimp roll were flavorful and not overcooked which was great. Next, we ordered the Caesar salad, beef tenderloin and sesame seared ahi tuna. Caesar salad was delicious. The dressing did not taste bottled and it was topped with capers and croutons. The tenderloin could have used a bit more salt, but was cooked perfectly to our liking. The ahi tuna was tender and seared evenly. Nice portions and the plates were served beautifully. Lastly we had the baked Alaska which was amazing. They did a table side flambé with rum, which was fun to watch and the flavors of the lemon and raspberry gelato with orange cake paired well with the Italian meringue. We also tried the chocolate peanut butter marquise bar, which was a bit underwhelming and strong on the chocolate, not so much on peanut butter flavor. Again, the plates were decorated nicely. Towards dessert there was a live pianist that all in the bar area enjoyed who was accepting requests. After our meal, the restaurant and hotel were nice enough to send a bottle of wine to our hotel room to celebrate a special occasion.
