This is by far one of the best HVAC providers in the Chicagoland area. Their quality is top-notch. They try to take care of their customers like family. My cousin was really in a pinch and didn't have heat during the winter. When calling atomatic they responded right away. They came with a lot of facts and did whatever they could to restore heat as soon as possible. We opted to perform a furnace replacement with an AC unit. The residential team fitted in the next day after finishing one of their installs working late and taking time away from their family to make sure that our family had heat. Jake stonehecker is a nice technician and was super helpful throughout the entire process. They even store materials back at their shop while we waited for the weather to change to put the AC in. You definitely get what you pay for with this company. We really feel like they did the job right and that's what matters most. read more

I own my condo and one more condo for an investment in my condo building. I reported to managment that my tenant did not have heat. The management company sent out a tech from Atomatic Mechanical Services, Inc. I told the tenant to let me know when he arrives, so I could be present. I met him, he looked around, and he said he had to leave and come back. I told him to please call me when he retured, as I'm the owner and I want to know what is the problem. He came back, he did not call me as I requested, the tenant let him into the condo and he did work without my authorization! I was charged $606.15, without giving my go ahead to do the work! I would have, at least, gotten one more quote. This is a terrible way to get business!! read more

This was one of the most demeaning and infuriating experiences I've had with a service provider. I was quoted $450 over the phone by their technician for a repair involving a part that costs $55 at Home Depot. After the work was done, I got a surprise callback saying the total was actually $750--with the excuse that the technician "forgot" to mention the rest of the cost. That's a $300 upcharge after the fact, with zero transparency. Even worse, they tried to charge me an extra $290 for "cleaning the system"--but all they did was swap out the air filter using my own filter. That is not cleaning, that is exploitation. But the most painful part wasn't even the outrageous pricing--it was the way I was treated. When I tried to question the charges, I was spoken to like I didn't matter. Mary, the woman on the phone, yelled at me, belittled me, and treated me with open disrespect--all because of my accent. I was calm, polite, and trying to understand why the quote had changed. Instead, I was talked over, ordered around, and told they would never service me again. It was humiliating. I genuinely believe I was racially profiled and dismissed as less than because of how I speak. And that's not just bad customer service--it's a serious problem. Avoid this company. If I could give Atomatic no stars I 100% would. They were COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL & INHUMANE from the techs to management. It was nothing but complaints about having to perform their job to damages caused to our property by their carelessness, including damaging the new HVAC system to the point that it could not be installed. When assistance was sought from management, we received no call back. Instead, they sent an infuriated employee with absolutely no intention of finding a solution. We were met with unbelievable unprofessionalism that included raised voices, multiple insults, and accusations of being "liars" that caused the damage ourselves to collect compensation. Atomatic then proceeded to cancel our contract with them in the middle of the HOT summer season. When we reached out for information about being reimbursed our down payment, Atomatic was not surprisingly very rude and unclear about when to expect it. In the end, we were left with damages to our home that we've worked so hard to build and no HVAC during PEAK summer temperatures. We were so disrespected and left feeling violated in our own home. This was DISGUSTING & SHAMEFUL treatment by Atomatic that no person should ever have to experience. read more

Can't say enough good things about this company ... the ease of everything from appointment setup with Mary to the services rendered by Ivan and Victor. Very efficient, everyone so professional and knowledgeable, and super friendly! ... that's refreshing to work with people who come into your home and they are personable and enjoy their jobs. I needed help with our thermostat, and had horror stories with scheduling companies and the amount they charged. We live in a high-rise, and some companies won't even touch our HVAC system. We had been long-time customers and were happy with their maintenance service. When it came to separate significant replacement events of our heater and our air conditioner, they offered a 'discount' price which was anything but. Each time we went with a different vendor getting the same items at a significantly lesser price. One time overbidding, maybe; second time overbidding, not anymore with them. read more

We hired Atomatic to replace our furnace and AC systems. We got a quote from them and one other company, and they were a little higher but not by an incredible amount. The reason we went with them was they seemed very professional in their communication. We're so glad we did. They arrived on time (early, even) and got right to work. They were respectful as I was working from home, and they were here most of the day but I barely noticed. I don't do HVAC but it seems like they did quality work. 100% would recommend and will use their services again. read more

This summer I had a series of AC issues, starting with a conduit needing repair, then the entire AC unit requiring a full replacement, and then multiple, unique complications with getting the unit onto the roof. And those were just the issues of which I was directly involved and aware; I'm sure the actual installation was no picnic. That said, Brant, Ivan, and the team got the job done, and did so with incredible patience and professionalism. Undoubtedly the company shared many of my frustrations and concerns, but they worked diligently to overcome every obstacle with multiple visits, constant communication, and careful planning. I have used Atomatic for well over 20 years and have consistently received excellent service for either an issue or to perform maintenance. I very much appreciate that there is a consistency in the technicians who have come to my home in these many years. There are three technicians (for privacy don't want to include names) who have been consistent in all these years which provides me a level of confidence that the people servicing the equipment in my home know the territory before arriving. I'm soooo happy, that I saw an Atomatic work van on my street a few days ago. Our furnace upstairs broke over a week ago and we were stalling on getting someone to look at it. Ivan was a God sent. He was incredibly thorough, took his time and troubleshot everything to not only diagnose just the symptoms but the root that was causing all of them. He didn't try to up sell me. He was so honest that I was almost shocked. He was the warmest, friendliest and most professional person I have ever had in my home. Ernesto and Ivan came out the same day, when I saw there truck and needed help. They were courteous and diagnosed the problem after an hour. They needed some parts and were able to schedule a return within 24hours. Ivan made all repairs, answered all my questions and was so patient to make sure the repair was complete and done right meaning checking it a few times. I would recommend Ivan and this company to everyone. Atomatic was the second company we called to get a quote for replacing our A/C and furnace. The first quote we received from Four Seasons seemed a bit high. My husband and I noticed that their sales guy didn't even go outside to look at our A/C unit and didn't really explain anything except the price. We decided to call Atomatic and had a completely different experience. We were impressed by every interaction we had with them from their knowledgable, but not pushy sales guy who took time explaining different options we could go with to their guys who removed our old furnace and installed our new units (and left our basement looking even cleaner than before!). I am so glad I found Atomatic. They have been so responsive, kind and empathetic, as well as knowledgeable and helpful with our myriad issues with our heat pump in our condo. The owner even called me at one point to assure me that they were going to do everything to find a solution and get our heat working again. It seems simple, but at the time it was music to my ears - someone cared! (Our building's management company did NOT care, even though the problem obviously originated outside of our unit.) Atomatic earned our trust over a period of several weeks as we tried to identify the problem. Atomatic found and fixed the problem, and charged us less than they should have. They are no-nonsense, customer-focused, and solution-focused. We've since hired them for work at our rental property and we will hire them to ultimately replace the faulty heat pump in our own unit. I obtained 4 estimates for a new high efficiency furnace, A/C and communicating thermostat before deciding on Atomatic. From the initial contact with Chris through the installation, Atomatic was very thorough and Chris communicated well throughout the process. Chris spent over 90 minutes at our home assessing our heating and cooling needs, far exceeding the amount of time spent by the other firms. He was the only salesman who did a flow estimate and CORRECTLY identified that we would only need a 2-ton AC unit and explained that it would do a better job of controlling humidity in our home. All the other salesmen suggested a 2&1/2 ton unit. I had originally selected another firm other than Atomatic for the job and as a courtesy contacted the other competing firms. Chris asked what kind of equipment I selected and I told him we were looking at a different manufacturer and the contractor recommended a 2&1/2 ton unit. Chris felt strongly that this was oversized and asked if he could e-mail me his flow analysis and whether I would share it with the competing contractor. He said, "I know you have decided to go with another firm and I can accept that but I really think that a 2&1/2 ton unit is too big for your home. Please just have him check my numbers." I e-mailed the Atomatic analysis to the other contractor. He called me a half hour later and said, "You know, the numbers don't lie. A 2-ton unit would be more appropriate." At that point, I wondered what else the other contractor had missed and canceled the job. Chris at Atomatic could have easily let us go at the point that I told him that we had chosen another firm. He had concerns about the equipment and wanted to be sure that we were fitted with the right size AC. He was persistent and went above and beyond to make sure we didn't make a mistake. The installation went great. The two workmen arrived just after 7:00AM and finished up just before 5:00PM. They did a great job, removed all of the old equipment and debris and gave us a brief tutorial on operating the thermostat and system. I have had simple questions since the installation and Chris has always promptly returned our calls and done a great job of educating us. We have had humid weather for the last 3 weeks and the system does such a great job of removing humidity that we can set our thermostat at a higher temperature than our old system. I see Carrier heating and AC equipment at a lot of commercial businesses and feel confident in the product. Atomatic doesn't have the name recognition of a lot of the firms that advertise in the Chicago area but they are very thorough and professional. After doing a lot of research and soliciting 4 estimates, I'm happy I chose Atomatic. read more

I had an emergency once, and since I was on the maintenance plan with Atomatic, I did not get charged any emergency rates and the they came out immediately! I highly recommend their services. Disappointed. Used them years ago because our air conditioning was down. It took multiple visits from technicians and then an engineer. We were told we needed to add another air intake to solve the problem and now it sounds like a jet engine in our loft every time our air goes on and it still didn't fix the problem. Found out there was a leak. Because of this we stopped using them and recently had another company come out for a new repair. We find out that the coil is leaking and is still under warranty. Unfortunately, the warranty is in Atomatics name. Call them and they would charge us to pull it, send it to be inspected by the manufacturer and then order based on their finding and finally charge for reinstall. So ticked off that they kept the warranty under their name and secondly that they won't help considering the money and time spent with them in the past. Done with them. read more
