The stars say it all!!! I came in last minute with a 2006 jeep wrangler that I had been fairly slack on keeping clean. The manager (Dave) and one of his employees (Kaegan, not me anpther one) stayed late to make sure that they didn't rush through detailing it until it looked better than it did the day I purchased it! If you are even remotely close to the area I can't stress what kind of work they do. Pricing is at or below what other detail shops charge however I would strongly recommend that you call ahead and schedule an appointment because the word is spreading and these guys are busy! I took my Acura RL to David @ Atomic Detailing because i had some very long scratches on the passenger side of my vehicle that pretty much covered the length of the car. Luckily, the scratches didn't go through the clear coat so David recommended using rubbing compound and wet sealing the scratches. I left my car in his hands and he performed a miracle to the finish. Not only did he get the scratches out but the finish feels smoother and looks brand new. I also asked for the headlight restoration service for my headlights because they were very dirty and foggy and now the lights look brand new. My technician was unfortunately swamped with covering for another tech that called out, but still managed to complete my work in a timely fashion and did an excellent job. My appointment did not go off on time, but customer service was very transparent about that so I did appreciate that. Overall, it was a good experience as they had water, coffee and ample seating in the waiting room, and provided good recommendations for the services I should have potentially upgraded to. I have given 5 start because customer service was great, they took me as a walk in person. Charged very reasonable much much lower then other places. For a size of a pencil tip eraser burn other places quoted me $60-$80. Dave charged only $35, and he completed it 35 minutes. I'm definitely a DIY kind of guy and enjoy working on my cars so I've been taking care of them at home for years now. I've always been curious what a professional job is like, and finally after checking this place out for months I I brought my car here for a full inside/outside to prep for the winter conditions as an early Christmas gift to myself. I was worried that I wouldn't be very impressed and would end up blowing hundreds of dollars for the same quality I can do at home. Nope, they definitely do a better job and I was definitely impressed. They took me on short notice, and did a really good job on my car. My paint was in pretty good shape to be honest as I really only hand wash it and only use a dual orbit on it so there were no polisher scratches, holograms or other major defects, just a bunch of rock chips and dents that can't be helped with detailing. The owner will personally consult with you and he's not only very experienced but honest, and will give you a real assessment of your car does and doesn't need. I was inquiring about the premium package but he down sold me to a medium one because he just didn't think my car needed it. Since this was my first professional detailing and I was obviously pretty nervous about it they let me check in on the car every once in a while. It was a blast seeing a professional detailers shop and all the equipment they have. Guys, if you think washing and waxing at home is the same thing as a detail you just don't know. The detailer who was working on my car clearly enjoyed his craft and took pride in his work. I cleaned out the car beforehand and was shocked at how much extra trash he found that I missed. Where as at home I only vacuum the carpets (with a powerhead roller brush attachment) they do a wet extract, and bundled the mats separately and taught me how to let them further dry indoors. He did light years better on the paint then I do. I usually just wash and use a cleaner wax by hand or with the DA. I've only clayed once because I found it too tedious, and usually just don't have the time do a full clean-polish-wax-buff cycle, but he did them all and it absolutely makes a difference. Can't do anything about rock chips and dents, but he talked me through what they can do with touchup and PDR services ... I really need to get it back in there for those. The exterior really did come out look A full detail can take a while, so it's best if you have someone pick you up, it's basically an all day affair. They do their best with scheduling and logistics but you just need to be a little flexible with them as people are always coming in late for their appointments, moving appointments etc. If you need to hang out they have open wifi and coffee, tea, hot cocoa etc. There are also some nearby restaurants you can grab a meal in. Their reception area is pretty small, but it's clean, comfortable and welcoming. They run some coupons and discounts over the course of the year, wish I had snagged one of those but I paid full price; at least now I know I have a trustworthy source and I can keep an eye out for future deals. Bottom line this is a solid shop - reasonably priced for the industry, honest, high level of execution. If you aren't sure about detailing or aren't sure about this specific shop I think it's an extremely safe bet either way. read more

July 24 Evening Update: Mr.Perry and I had a telephone conversation. To summarize, my frustration with the quality of the final appearance of our cars is due to the fact that our Delta flight came in 30 minutes early. Since Atomic Salon had planned on me arriving at 11:00 they had scheduled to do the "final work" at 10:00. It is his belief that all of my frustration is totally my fault. The fact that I understand his comments, but can not truly accept his reasonings makes it less than proper for us to return to Atomic Salon. He is in agreement that he does not want me as a client. I hope that others using this company have a better result. ---------- July 24 - morning comment: The apparent issue among many who have commented about Atomic Auto Salon is what I missed as well. The word "detailing" is not in their name. There is, in my opinion, a blatant lack of DETAIL in the work they do. In my case, two cars were left with them for CeramicPro and a wheel repair. They were left for a period of slightly more than two weeks. Pick up was scheduled for between 10:00 and 11:30 on Monday, 22 July. It took last minute email traffic to get the wheel repair done before pick up....yet they had two weeks to schedule and execute it. A simple "final wash" was requested by them WHEN we arrived for pick up. Yes, one of the cars looked lousy, but I was not willing to tolerate waiting for it to be "washed in a hurry". Then, when getting into the car, it was apparent from the battery that the car had been left with electronics on and deleted the battery. Personally, when having almost $3,000 work done, I believe a quality DETAIL shop would have also done a simple vacuum and dust of the interior as a curtesy to the client. I had also requested Ceramic Pro soap and new towels be in the vehicles and on my bill. This did not happen. I shall not return to them for future work. I also intend to comment to Ceramic Pro that, in my opinion, they are NOT a quality oriented shop. To them, "Money In" is much more important than "Quality Out." read more

Solid hand car wash service. Took my car there for the hand wash service which took about 2 hours (very long for a hand wash but worth it). The place is clean, a bit dated, but staff was friendly and attentive. I originally had a 3pm appointment I made around noon but they called 30 minutes later to tell me I could come in now. I had an appt with Dave on a Wed, he had someone call me 30 mins before my appt time to cancel, Then rescheduled my appt for another day. On the day of the Appt he called to say he's on the way. Then he called me back 20 mins later to tell me he isn't coming because he didn't want ti be stuck in traffic getting back. I live less than 15 miles from Columbia. I'm extremely impressed with the service and quality of work that I received at Atomic Detailing. I scheduled an appointment using their convenient online booking service, which evidently is a new feature. When I brought my car in, the owner took a detailed look at my car and talked about what I wanted/needed. He called me a couple of times during the process to explain progress. When I picked up my vehicle (after hours!) the technician was extremely friendly and was just finishing up. He let me see what had been done so far, as he was putting in his finishing touches. The reviewer is not a car person but does have a basic concept of how washing and detailing properly is performed. I have been patronizing this establishment for a few years now, older cars and newer. I have had their high-end interiors and exterior work (but not any Ceramic Pro or similar products). I have been very satisfied with the cleanliness results, the post-results of application of polymer wax, and also they did a magnificent job on some 12 year old headlights with serious fog. The cars I drive simply aren't worth more than washing for visibility and gross dirt for rust accumulation, so I only patronize about once a year to get all the built up junk taken care of. Scheduling service is straightforward and work is performed on time or slightly earlier as per their staffing policy. Prior to taking it in, they will review with you scope of work. I haven't had any issues with pricing or gotchas. I intend to maintain this vendor relationship indefinitely. read more

Had the premium detail done to my BMW. Was not impressed at all especially for the $380 i paid. The exterior overall was nice and nothing can beat a machine polish. Problem being is there was no detail in this detail. When going over the vehicle at the end I had to point out numerous things that were still dirty or had not been done. Grill and bumper still dirty and spotty, bugs on bumper, vents not cleaned, door seals dirty and spotty, wheel wells dirty (wheels and tires were nice though), bad vacuum job and mats didnt even look like they were shampooed and dirt under trunk handle and license plate and case cap compartment wasnt cleaned. I also paid extra to clean the engine compartment. You would think they would use a pressure steam cleaner. They didnt. Just a wipe down and they didnt even pull the plastic covers up. Spent over an hour at home finishing everything they missed. For almost $400 i would think these things would be addressed. Staff was nice and polite though. Wouldnt recommend anything more than a wash and wax. ***********Update********** The owner Dave reached out to me today. We spoke about the service and he wanted to make things right. He was very apologetic and genuinely upset about my experience. In the end he offered to make up for it. I very much respect this coming from the owner of the business in that it shows he really cares about the quality of work his shop puts out. He could have easily ignored me and chalked it up as a lose. He agreed to personally inspected any other work done at his shop. Like I said I truly respect this and will visit his shop again in the near future. read more

Our 5 year old son has done a number on the inside of our 2011 Highlander and Atomic made it look almost new. Fit us in immediately on a Saturday morning and detailed the entire inside better than I could have hoped for in just about 2 hours. Damaged both the interior and exterior of my car. They pointed out the exterior damage as it would have been hard to miss and offered to repair. Never mentioned the interior damaged and when I later pointed it out they acted like I was trying to blame them for damage I did to the car. Poor quality and very poor customer service. We brought the car in for "rejuvenation" detailing including machine polish and wax. When it was returned to us it looked like it had been run through a regular car wash and the interior cleaned quickly. When I say quickly, I mean it was cleaned with little attention to details. There was still visible grime and even cobwebs and the grill was wiped but not polished, and there was no evidence of any kind of machine buffing whatsoever. There was even a white spot of paint, like from another person tapping the car with their door, and I rubbed it off with my fingernail. When we complained, the guy had an answer for everything except for why it was being returned to us looking so rough. Why was one of the tires not shined? "Oh it was, but when the tire is old it gets absorbed." The irony in this is that that particular tire was the only one recently replaced with a brand new one because of a flat. Why is there obvious grime in the crevices? "The machine doesn't reach in there." That's why it's called detailing - they're supposed to do certain details by hand, and that's why it's supposed to take four hours to clean. They did clean it better while we waited, lowered the price and offered 10% off a future job, but we still overpaid and don't plan to return. read more
