This place is ok. The coffee is decent. The main problem is that it is sooooo loud. You can't even sit down to enjoy the coffee without the loud music banging in my ear. Definitely would not be returning back for a sit down. Good to just grab and go. read more

Espresso was overly acidic without other favors to complement, but my brownie was both fluffy and moist. Atmosphere is cool; I love the clamshell tile, light fixtures, and stamped ceiling. It's a little loud but not as bad as some of the industrial style spaces opening lately. A-okay. read more

Aromic has nice options, and way more to try than the typical chain coffee shop. However, I give a three star because I saw a lady fall out of her chair due to a missing screw and then they also made my coffee without almond milk when they charged me for it. Wow, What a great space in the heart of Royal Oak. Very cool interior, doors/window that open to the street, and diverse crowd. The wifi didn't work so well, but hopefully that was a fluke. Great coffee but service is slow if you order food Not a place for you to grab a sandwich and go. It looks like they have some to go items but, I ordered a croissant sandwich. Waited 40 minutes for it but when I finally got it, it was delicious! Worth every minute of my wait. I've been going here almost every day of the week to study for exams. The ambience is great, trendy and very well organized. Internet works great, so it's a huge bonus. The drinks are AMAZING! Probably the best coffee among the other places in the area. I seriously love their macchiato and espresso: just the right balance of acidity and boldness. I truly do not understand all these positive reviews. There is absolutely no space to sit and drink your coffee. Table space is limited due to people sitting with empty coffee mugs, staring at their computers. Shouldn't time be limited? Brought our coffee and basically stood around waiting for an available table. Doubt I I would return. read more

5 star customer service and pretty decent coffee/grounds to back it up. However; careful when you order an Arnold Palmer, their lemon juice is hand squeezed fresh, making this a "tad" bit more acidic than your average one. They remade it several times for us to get the sweetness closer to true consistency of the traditional one. Would be back here again based on excellent customer service and staff friendliness. read more

If you're looking to go into cardiac arrest or stay awake for a week-straight, have a coffee at Atomic. It's no joke, but it's damn good. Don't mind the douchey weekend crowd. They mean well. What I love even more than the coffee though is the music. (Hey, who made the playlist tonight around 7 p.m. on? So good. Thank you.) If you're looking for a sexy med student, try this place. It's a Wayne State studying hot spot, so remember to wear your skanky necklines, my friends, and you could be going home with a doctor-to-be. I must say though, I miss the atmosphere of the old Caribou that used to be in this location. Nowadays, the flooring has a bathroom feeling, kind of like I'm in a big community bathhouse -- this is the reason why I'm docking a star. Really. It bothers me that much. Bring back the wood! Faux wood even, if you're on a budget. Pergo makes some nice stuff, ya know? Look into it. Get back to me. I deserve some nice flooring while I'm using your wifi. The up scale decor is a nice change from the traditional looking coffee shop. There's plenty of comfortable seating both inside and out. Prices could use a touch of moderation but if you're looking for a nice comfortable coffee shop to spend some time in, it's worth paying a few extra cents. Also, I love that this is an independent business. While a standard American is my usual fare, I'd like to see them offer more variety hot and cold drinks. That sort of thing has become the lifeblood for the national chains and I'd like to see Atomic coffee succeed. The service here was outstanding. This is my first time coming here and I'm already in love with it. As soon as I walked in, it felt super inviting. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, and although it was pretty busy with a decent line at the register, my drink was up in less than five minutes. The decor is super modern and there are lots of seating options (tables, couches, booths, etc). I got a soy honey vanilla latte, which is just as delicious as it is unique. Their menu is pretty diverse and there is something here for everyone, even those who don't like coffee. It's a great place to study or draw or just hang out. A million times better than the Starbucks down the street. I would recommend it to everyone I know. I think I found my new favorite spot! read more

I've been coming here since they opened and always buy their house blend to wake me up in the mornings at work. Their black coffee is fantastic, as are their lattes and hot mochas. The iced mochas tend to be a little too sweet for my taste, but that's all opinion. I'd recommend it to anybody. read more

I really love, LOVE this place. I remember being in cosmetology school waiting & watching forever for this place to be built. I never had the chance to try it until now since I'm working at a salon in downtown RO. The atmosphere of this coffee shop is very hip & very Portland-ish. I'm in love with all of the white and the large open windows. The coffee, also, does not disappoint at all. I've been craving a lavender latte which is my favorite go to coffee drink at a hip coffee shop, and honestly, this is the best I've had yet. The honey bear is also pretty bomb. I love this coffee shop, I come here all the time. Over-priced, but has a great atmosphere and great coffee/food. My one complaint; though most of them are great, but some of the baristas are really unfriendly/rude. I'm totally not the type of person to complain about bad service or write bad reviews--I've worked as a barista myself so I try to be understanding--but I do have a problem with employees being rude to a loyal customer like myself. Butttt gotta still give this place 5 stars despite the service. read more

Great coffee, I've tried the toasted coconut latte it was one of the best coffees I had in recent times. Totally recommend it

So we head in for a cup of coffee. My husband has to adjust his order twice as they don't have what he wants. (And he isn't super picky). The woman taking the order was less than helpful. I then ask for a large regular coffee with sugar free vanilla. I am told they don't have sugar free. I roll with it and say that I'll have the regular full sugar vanilla. Then I am told they don't have that either. They have honey vanilla. Ok, I'll adjust so hook me up. Then I ask for a chicken salad sandwich and am told the kitchen is closed at 3:00. There are pre-made sandwich's and rolls in the display case but the clerk is impatient with me and just repeats that the kitchen is closed. I don't like having to do a server's work and come up with solutions. Help me spend my money and don't be so impatient. My husband is having his coffee that he almost wanted and I'm looking at dirty tables, rugs and floors with garbage that an employee just ignored. I'm not giving them my money. Yep, we won't be back. Sad as it used to have good service and helpful people. read more

Cappuccino was poorly made. Milk had no texture and espresso was very watery, really what you expect from most Starbucks, except Atomic make theirs on a La Marzocco. No excuses really. Hands down my favorite coffee shop in Royal Oak. The ambiance is incredible, whoever designed this place is a genius.
