The reviews about the loud music is true and it's not changing any time soon. I visited for dinner ~6:30pm. Immediately when walking in I noticed the music was overwhelmingly loud. It felt more like a club scene rather than a nice dinner spot. I asked if the waitress could lower the music and she said they weren't allowed to touch it. Upon seeing the reviews of this place, I see why. The business owner claims that they're trying to curate a "lively atmosphere" and it's "not for everyone". That's wack. If half of your reviews are telling you the music is too loud, lower it. I could barely hear my partner speak and had to read lips just to try to have a conversation. Plus some of the waitstaff were changing songs midway through or skipping songs. It was distracting. On top of that, the main dishes do not come with a side. Every single side option is an up charge. I knew when ordering the salmon, that it wouldn't come with a side. But everyone should note that you're spending $25 on an 8oz salmon and two slices of lemon with not a single side. No rice, no nothing. To be honest, you can go to Texas Roadhouse and get the same exact thing for the same exact price and get two sides for free. Plus you're not hounded by extremely loud music. Last thing to note, our waitress was also working the bar. There was a couple at one other table and someone at the bar. Other than that, the restaurant was completely empty. We barely saw our waitress and had to wait for quite a while when we wanted to order another drink. We spent a lot of extra time than we wanted to waiting around. My positive about this restaurant is that the decor is nice and that they let you modify the dish a bit. We ordered the pasta trio and they let us get two of one type of pasta. The pesto was really good. The deals on Thursday for drinks is good. The bread and butter was really good but an extra $5. Overall? Business owner: please take note of what customers are saying and compromise. If a customer asks for the server to lower the music, staff should be allowed to, even if just a little bit. What sort of "lively atmosphere" are you trying to create on a Thursday night at 7pm with a restaurant 90% empty? Maybe change the vibe of the music based on the time of day. Your decorations say "nice dinner" your music says "sports bar". There is an in between and I know it can be found. I hope everyone can learn something from this review. read more

A trendy gem in Turlock! These are the places that I look up when I'm out of town and try to find. Yes the music may be a bit loud but I told my husband that it drowns out other peoples conversations and our conversations stay at our table. We ordered the salmon bites and chicken. It was sooooo good. I cannot wait to go back and get it again. My friends ordered the pasta trio and Thai curry pot stickers that we shared with them. They were also amazing. My husband and I really enjoyed Toscana's and were sad that they closed. We were excited to hear they would reopen with a new name, new look, and new menu and wanted to give it a try. The Atrium has a totally different look than the previous restaurant Toscana's. They have spent a lot of time and attention to detail to create a more upscale atmosphere. The light fixtures, the moody floral motif on the ceiling, the serpent gold "A", and the greenery wall decor all create a unique look and feel apart from any other restaurant in Turlock. The menu offerings are designed to be shared which is a fun change from other area restaurants. The service was friendly and efficient with prompt attention and helpful recommendations. The only area we found that could be improved upon was the music volume. It was super loud which made it difficult to have a conversation over our meal. We were told that Atrium is trying to cater to a younger crowd. While we totally understand and appreciate the image they are trying to convey, the music volume really impacts the overall dining experience and not for the better. A recommendation would be to have the music volume a little lower during the dinner service and then switch from dinner service to light bites and cocktails, dim lights, and play the music louder to cater to a younger crowd. Of course that is just our opinion. We will give it another try in the future to see if things have improved, but in the meantime, we do hope they succeed. read more

Hey, there is a lot to unpack here. Total different vibe for Turlock. It appears that they want to attract a younger crowd. I saw many younger folks at dinner and that's a good thing. They need a hip place to go, and this just might be it. I went in during the day to make reservations and noticed the loud, techno music. A few folks were having lunch, and I have no idea why they would want to blast that music during the day. Weird. Came back with wife and daughter for dinner and they were still blasting the music. I think I could deal with the music if it wasn't so loud. I had to ask my wife and daughter several times what they said. They really need to tone it down a bit. The atmosphere would be perfect for jazz. I mean it's great having loud music when you're drinking and dancing but when you are trying to enjoy dinner and company it doesn't work. I ran into a friend who used to go to Toscanos quite a bit and he told me he won't go back because of the loud music. I really think that the restaurant will lose a lot of the older crowd, and it will be interesting to see if the younger crowd will be able to support them. Now let's get to the food. It's more of a plate share type restaurant. Everyone can order something and there is enough for everyone to share. Good concept and we enjoyed it. Next time we won't order so much food!!! We had the pork sliders which were crispy with a very nice slaw. Enjoyed those. Pasta trio was excellent. Cheesy and the pasta was cooked perfect. I thought the steak bites were cooked a bit much, but the flavor was excellent. Brussel sprouts were delicious as was the broccoli. You pay $5 for the bread but they give you plenty with a nice herb butter. Mallory was our server, and she did an excellent job. Friendly, polite and always had a smile on her face. The gentleman at the desk who helped out was on the ball. Friendly and welcoming. He helped bus the table. They've done a fantastic job on the remodel. Very nice atmosphere. Hey, we will definitely go back. I really hope they lower the sound level. I hope they succeed as Turlock desperately needs a place like this. Wife and I went to this new restaurant last night, we used to go there when it was Toscana's. Glad they are trying something different. The menu needed changing, even though it was fabulous food, like I said change was needed. Walked in, first thought, like Toscana's before, I didn't know where to check in and get greeted. I think the hostess desk should be moved closer to the door. Loved the new look though, mix of cozy colors and lighting with cool recent music. Got seated quickly and felt like the staff was happy to see us. Our waiter had been here since it was Toscana's, so he remembered us. That was kinda cool. Told us about the changes and how the owners traveled throughout the country to get ideas for the changes. To start, wife ordered a Dirty Martini (her go to at Toscana's). Loved it but missed the blue cheese filled olives, bring those back lol. I ordered off the drink menu. Don't remember the name but it was a coconut/rum drink. Adele has a title of a song that goes with it. Loved the drink, tasted great. Perfect amount of alcohol to taste ratio. I love bread at a restaurant, something about bread will tell me if I will like the place right from the beginning. The bread was warm, not too much which was great, cause I could have ate that all night... the butter spread is to die for!!! Ordered half dozen oysters, I usually stay away from fish since we're about 2 hours away from the ocean, too risky. BUT, the fish is brought in daily from Ohana Seafood market. I trust them, they do daily runs to the coast to supply restaurants with quality seafood. I enjoyed the oysters, the sauces and lemon wedges that came with them and the size of the oysters were perfect. Next we shared a Caesar salad, nothing special.. it was a Caesar salad. Needed to add more pepper, but this is just a preference thing for me. Size was good for one person, but we were going out after, and didn't want to get super full so we shared that. Haha Main course. She had the Ahi Tuna, oh my god, it looked amazing. Great portion. She never finishes her meal so I couldn't wait to dig in. It tasted as good as it looked and we also got some side sauces to dip into which tasted amazing. I love sauces, my fridge has more condiments than groceries. I had the lobster tacos. I was a little disappointed since I felt the ratio of filling wasn't enough for the fried tortilla. The waiter asked my opinion, so I didn't hold back. He totally understood. He came back with two more tacos that were filled a little more. PERFECT! That was the right ratio, I can eat them all night. We looked at the dessert menu, we were too full. Next time!! Waiter, great! Owner/manager came by, loved that. Place is clean, great music, tasty drinks, different choices in food then anywhere else locally, fresh fish, looks amazing inside. I cannot say enough about this place. From the moment we walked in, the experience was flawless. The food was incredible my absolute favorite was the prawns, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Everything we tried was delicious. Our server Kirk was amazing, kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. He made everything easy and enjoyable without ever feeling rushed. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests. And then... Mallory, the bartender. I'm extremely picky about my dirty martinis, and hers was right up there with the one I had at the Four Seasons a couple months ago. Perfectly smooth, icy cold, beautifully balanced exactly how I like it. And don't even get me started on the pumpkin espresso martini absolutely to die for. She was darling, came by our table just to make sure we were loving our drinks. One or two who's counting martinis later, we were absolutely sold. The vibe is stunning, gorgeous, upscale, yet totally low-key. I honestly felt like I was on vacation. We've hands down found our new spot. This is our place. Mallory, our bartender, was fabulous. Hands down the best spicy margarita in town, and the pumpkin spice martini is to die for. She's officially our go-to bartender and best of all, they're open on Mondays, so you already know where we'll be starting our week! A friend and I went in for coffee/tea. I ordered a fruit tea and it was not properly steeped for loose leaf tea. My friend had a chai which she didn't finish. She said it tasted just like the box chai she made at home. The food was lacking at best. Minimal options but I swear our bagels tasted like Costco bagels. They also charge $2.50 for cream cheese as a separate charge which brings a plain bagel with cream cheese to $6.00. Don't get me wrong I'll happily pay $6 for a freshly made bagel but not a Costco one. We both decided we won't be returning. Long time between ordering and arriving at the table. Since we are elderly and use hearing aids they had to be turned down because the music was so loud it was irritating then we had to speak loudly to carry on a conversation. With everyone speaking loud to hear over the music the room noise really was not comfortable. Prices ok for an elegant restaurant. ​. OMG ! I have been waiting to try this place out since we saw them on TikTok. I came here with a party of 13 tonight and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Anthony was hands down one of the best servers we've ever had ( forsure the best server I've ever had ) --attentive, friendly, and made the whole night feel effortless. The food was incredible, and the music seriously elevated the vibe and overall experience. Cassady, the manager, was so sweet and welcoming, and her drinks were so good--perfectly made and incredibly tasty. First time in, and our last time in! The lady that seated us and our server couldn't tell us what their soup of the day was..."something creamy with rosemary".
