I have lived in my home for 38 years, and it was time to get new attic insulation (better late than never). Samuel arrived on time to perform the inspection and an estimate was promptly received. Having worked construction for 35 years, I got three bids. Atticare and another bidder were very close (less than $100), and I chose Atticare because of the thoroughness of their proposal. The third bidder was much lower, but with two very close bids and a lowball, I suspected that change orders were likely in store. There was one very minor glitch that needed to be addressed, and Atticare staff were there within 48 hours to correct the issue. With a crew of four men, they did a fantastic job of removing all of the blown-in insulation which was four feet high. They then covered all possible openings, with wire mesh and foam blockades, that the rats were using to get into our attic from the crawl space underneath the house. Traps were set in that crawl space and no rats have ventured inside after they covered all opening with wire mesh. Further, their bid was the lowest of three businesses that I researched. They set up plastic barriers to keep rat feces from contaminating the house, both on the floor and sides that led to the door exiting the house. Even afterwards, they returned to determine why the doorbell stopped working to help find the wire that needed replacement. In the end, it was a pleasant experience having them solve our rat problem. They even left a tube of poison to replenish the rat traps just in case they returned from possibly being caught in the walls between the crawl space and the attic. No employee asked me to do this review or sent me an email, text or snail mail to do so. A good crew with experienced employees. Thank you. read more

It took a couple of visits (because the rats were coming in the crawl space) and the last tech they sent (William) was especially fantastic. He did a deep, thorough survey of the property. He took me around and patiently pointed out spots on the roof where rats could jump from nearby trees, small openings to the crawl space, possible vulnerabilities on the porch. Atticare did such an exceptional job to insulate our attic! I called and immediately later that day, Ashton dropped by to assess the insulation. He was very knowledgeable and provided a realistic recommendation. We had condensation on the ceiling and he explained why that was happening. We had outdated insulation that was installed incorrectly or not within regulation today. We took a week or so to decide/schedule time with the business and we're so glad we did! Elder, Christian and Ader were the ones who worked on our attic. They were speedy, but efficient. They also had great customer service. I was amazed by their setup. They made sure that the floors were covered with plastic and sealed off areas to the rest of the house. They removed the old material, cleaned our attic of any debris and then added the new insulation. When they were done, they made sure that everything was clean and tidy and even wiped the area with disinfectant. Elder also had us inspect the attic to make sure we were satisfied. He also took the extra time to inspect another crawl space to see if it's worth asking the company to do extra work (we didn't need to because that part of the house had newer insulation). I got 3 quotes from different attic companies: . AttiCare: best price, best estimate experience. Attic Solutions: priced at market value, and a good estimate experience. AtticPros: too pricey, poor estimate experience I decided to go with AttiCare based on price and the experience I got from Francisco during the estimate. All three companies were priced within a couple hundred dollars of each other, but AttiCare offered me a significant discount. Before entering my home, Francisco put on boot covers, which was greatly appreciated. When he said he would suit up/mask up, he did so. When he was in the attic, he went around to different parts, and didn't just stick his head up there. When I asked "how much will this insulation replacement improve our energy efficiency?" Francisco gave me and honest answer and took the time to educate me about different factors that go into that question. AtticPros did not wear boot covers. When the estimator said he was going to suit up, he didn't. All he did was stick his head up in the attic hole. He did not walk around. Then he delivered a rehearsed sales pitch and wanted me to watch a YouTube video on cellulose vs fiberglass. I initially tried to do the removal myself. I had batted and blown in insulation, and removed 33 bags of insulation. That was tough and grueling work. It was a good experience, and gave me a novice perspective of the work insulation removal and install requires. The AttiCare team that came to our house made quick work. They were professional and hard working. The prepared the working areas of the house with tarp and tape. What impressed me the most was how detailed they were in filling in all the gaps with expansion foam. They also elevated any AC ducting they could. Summary: I am giving them a 1-star review because of their terrible customer support especially to an existing customer. Details: I had Atticare help with installation of a vapor barrier in my crawlspace. They did a good job installing, but the problem is what happened a little over a year later. They should have cleaned and thoroughly sanitized the dirt prior to installation. The area I live in can cause the dirt of my crawlspace to be moist (no standing water). Coupling a vapor barrier, there were minor signs of white mold growing. Because of this, I reached out to them: 1) Asked them that I wanted them to come out and use sanitize and use Boracare. 2) It took awhile for them to get back to me and when they did, they wanted a mold report. 3) I requested a referral from them with no response. I finally found someone and paid several hundred of dollars for it which showed positive signs. 4) I forward them the report but no response with multiple pings. 5) Finally when they got back to me they were charging over $2000 for a problem that was created from them. 6) And after requesting if there were any from them to lower price I am getting no response read more
