What an incredibly pleasant surprise !! The Breakfast Company came to the rescue for four of us today ! What started out as an attempt to eat at Max & Helen's, which then turned into a chaotic mess and NOT getting to eat there, ended by one of us doing a Yelp search for where else to go... and THIS place popped up !! Everything about it was truly meant to be. Breakfast Company has a listed phone number, which Max & Helen's doesn't. Breakfast Company has a parking garage immediately adjacent to the restaurant. Max & Helen's has no parking anywhere normally, and try getting close enough for even a drop off on a Farmer's Market Sunday... can't get ANYWHERE NEAR it, and when one of us, namely ME, has a bad back and knee, well, walking a distance is a no-go for me. The Breakfast Company was super easy to access. Oh, and now for the piece de resistance... there was NO wait on a Sunday... we could even dine outdoors in their wonderfully large COVERED patio area, and there was even a table for FOUR in the shade !! Be still, my heart !!! Mind you, Max & Helen's only claims to be a 4-star establishment, while this place teeters on almost 5 stars. The proof was in the pudding cuz we've now eaten here, and I'm definitely awarding a 5-star review. Starting with all of the above and of course the most important aspect, the food. It was delicious, plentiful, and we loved what we had. Since we were going for brunch, we were all in a breakfast-y mood. My cousin ordered the Brioche Breakfast Sammie, which included 2 eggs over medium, bacon, avocado, gruyere cheese, garlic aioli on brioche toast, and was served with house potatoes. It sounded fabulous (but it had bacon, which I can't stand... don't hate me), so I didn't taste it... but all the other ingredients sounded yummy. She loved it. I didn't hear what her boyfriend specifically ordered, but it looked similar to what I had, which was called The American. My dish had 3 eggs, which I requested scrambled, linguisa sausage (which I had never had before), the house fries, and an English muffin with their homemade jam (which was DELICIOUS). The eggs were light and fluffy, the sausage had a lot of flavor, and the potatoes were so well seasoned with a perfect light crunch to each bite. The jam was so good on the English muffin, but I was so full that I couldn't eat much of it. My husband ordered The Goat, which was an omelet, which had caramelized onions, bacon and goat cheese in the omelet, and it came with the house fries, and he got wheat toast with his meal. He raced through his meal, so I know he really enjoyed it (plus he was hungry!), but he wasn't a fan of the goat cheese... just personal preference, nothing that they did wrong. While the service was fine, I didn't love our waitress. She wasn't bad, but I wouldn't say she was good either. She was just okay. I felt like she wasn't super familiar with the menu, and she didn't return for drink refills. Her appearance at our table was minimal at best. I had regular iced tea, and my husband had coffee. We could've both used more, but we just drank water instead. Nothing horrible, though. However, my annoyance grew once I got home... that's a first for me. When I came home to write my review and looked at the menu to make sure I wasn't forgetting to list all the ingredients in our dishes, I saw online that there was a SPECIAL... it was a smoked salmon and bagel dish, and SHE DIDN'T EVEN MENTION ANY SPECIALS EXISTED !!!!!!! THAT upsets me because THAT is truly what I would've ordered !! It is the quintessential brunch dish in my opinion. How could she have not told us? And how was I supposed to ask, "Do you have any specials?" I never think to ask because, gee, the waiter or waitress usually tells us. Anyway, I was upset about that, but I had no idea back at the restaurant. Normally, I'd probably mark down for service issues, but I really was so pleased with everything else about Breakfast Company, I'm in a generous mood to keep this as a 5-star rating. Plus, I noticed how other waitresses (servicing other nearby tables) were doing their jobs perfectly... and better than our waitress for sure... like getting water bowls for little fur babies... or returning to refill human water glasses. All in all, though, if we're ever in the area again, I'd return here in a heartbeat. My husband and I visited the restaurant for brunch in a Thursday. We waited a few minutes before anyone acknowledged us. After we were seated the service was fast. I don't feel they were very friendly. The food was good, the best part for me was the sourdough toast and jam, not to mention the orange juice. We sat outside, which made it nice. What an awesome find! This is officially my new favorite breakfast spot in West Hollywood. The vibe here is fantastic--light, refreshing music that's perfect for a relaxed Saturday morning breakfast. The location is great, and they have outdoor seating, which makes it even better. The place is also beautifully decorated, so if you're into snapping a few selfies while you're out, this is definitely the spot. The coffee was fresh, hot, and delicious. Our server, Keisha, was absolutely awesome! She kept stopping by with refills on coffee and water, was super friendly and attentive, and had a great sense of humor that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast Company also has a big menu with tons of options--especially if you love waffles, pancakes, and creative breakfast specialties. There's so much to choose from and everything sounds amazing. They also offer a nice little selection of "breakfast drinks," which is a fun touch. I ordered the seasonal omelet with sautéed seasonal vegetables, served with house potatoes, and it was incredible. This is a very good brunch spot. Definitely the establishment you'd think about on a random Tuesday at your miserable job and miss your time at west holly wood. Very busy and fast pace but even better and faster service. We ordered the meat lovers omelette with country potatoes, brioche French toast, and tiramisu pancakes. We also ordered a cold brew coffee and vanilla iced latte,both 10/10. Everything tasted fresh and carefully crafted. Our server was attentive. The music was going and the vibes were good. this meal was actually disgusting. I used to be obsessed with this place before it was changed. I don't know if the company was bought by a different company or if it's the same company but I miss breakfast Republic. Breakfast Republic, shrimp grits were some of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. The grits were so creamy and cheesy and the shrimp was always cooked really well as well as the sauce they put on top was like a southern style sauce. This company also has shrimp and grits but it's like a chilli Asian inspired sauce and it's not as good. It tastes really strange with the grits and texture of the grits. also, the sausage on top was really unnecessary. it should be shrimp and grits not shrimp, sausage and grits. The shrimp was very chewy and overcooked. The eggs were overcooked and very hard if that even makes sense, had no idea eggs could be hard. my boyfriend got the Chilaquiles he's obsessed with breakfast Republic Chilaquiles. He says they're the best he's had and he says that the ones from the breakfast company are the worst he's ever had. He's had frozen Chilaquiles from the store and they were even better than this. Very disappointing. The waiter even told us that the rib eye steak meat was bad before we ordered it so my boyfriend got Carne Asada instead and it was still bad .. on top of that they didn't give him his avocado that he paid extra for as you can see in the picture. There's no avocado on his Chilaquiles. we paid over $70 for this meal. Absolutely unacceptable !!!!! only reason I gave this place a two stars was because the service was very very great. The waiter was amazing. Bring the original breakfast republic back!! luckily they still have some in LA. We're going to the one in Silver Lake over coming back here. read more

This spot used to be our favorite when it was " BREAKFAST REPUBLIC " we had our faves on their menu. Apparently they changed it to BREAKFAST COMPANY - they said its same owner. But their dishes are not the same at all. Pancakes were all right, s''mores waffle and that rice Benedict was disappointing. I was hoping to get their cafe d olla at least but it's not on their menu anymore. If you are looking for great meal and have some epic taste this is not for you. I wandered into the Breakfast Company, woozy and hangry after getting my blood drawn at a hospital nearby. It was not a researched choice, just what was open within walking distance from me--but oh man, their coffee saved me from just dissolving into a puddle of tired goo on Santa Monica Blvd. I ordered a veggie omelet with sausage added, which came with a side of crispy potatoes and toast. It looked and felt like a big portion, especially at 10 in the morning... but you bet I straight-up devoured everything, smothered in their hot sauce, and licked those plates clean. Only after I stuffed my face did I notice the quirky interior. That and the friendly staff were the cherry on top. I loved the WeHo-ness of it all. Decided to try this place for breakfast. I got steak and eggs. For $30 I got eggs that were sitting on the shelf for a while because the egg yolks were shriveled. Steak was made out of the cheapest meet you can find - very chewy and was cooked well done when I asked for a tender medium. Not seasoned at all. Potatoes were fine and jam muffins were alright too. Running errands this morning, my partner and I decided to opt for convenience, and remembering that Breakfast Republic became Breakfast Company a little while back, and not fully knowing what that meant in real-world terms, we decided to give it a go. Glad that we did; our server was Keisha - also one of the managers as it turned out - and she was an absolute delight. Knowledgeable about the menu, lots of great suggestions, and to an almost comical extent, recommended to us our respective favorites on the menu... so much so that I listed the three suggestions she made and asked her to bring me one - any one - of them. My partner had the grits and they were about the best we've had. I had a mashed potato waffle, which is exactly what it sounds like, and it was really fantastic, unique, and hearty. The coffee was good, the food was great, our server was delightful, and the vibes were just on-point. I work a few blocks away and as we left, Googled it to realize they ARE open for lunch (until 3pm), so I suspect I'll be stopping in for lunch in the next few days as well... it's actually BETTER than it was as Breakfast Republic, which was a pleasant surprise! read more

I rolled in this joint one early Sunday morning wearing a tank top and shorts totally misjudging the fact that although the sun was coming out, the weather was bitterly cold. I was happy to get a little booth by myself and try out the Breakfast Company, which has an incredibly interesting menu especially if you are gluten intolerant. Being Celiac for 26 years, breakfast became an afterthought as besides eggs, which I never quite learned to love, breakfast menus are very difficult besides a fruit cup. Healthy but boring. That has changed in recent years as I have had some incredible gluten-free waffles, pancakes, and French toast for that once a year (maybe twice a year) splurge. Waffles, in particular pancakes, have always been in my opinion a food item that is really just an excuse to put a bunch of interesting things on top masquerading as food when actually it's a dessert. The BC, which for me stands for Before Coffee, joins a couple other restaurants in LA that serve a very tasty and light waffle that doesn't leave you wondering why you ate more than half of it. When you have to make tough choices because a number of options sound great you know you are off to a good start. I ordered the GLUTEN-FREE CINNAMON RAISIN* topped with choice of bananas foster. Not sure if the asterisk means yummy, but it was my first French toast in years and I believe, having bananas foster in New Orleans where it is an art form, one could put bananas foster on an old shoe and it would be decent. This GF French toast was no old shoe and this is meant to be a compliment although it looks and sounds weird. The French Toast was delicious and I did not struggle at all to devour my meal with my latte thawing me out with each bite. In any event, very friendly server plus really nice interesting dining areas made this experience worth repeating warming my insides after I made the bone chilling sartorial blunder. Ok was hungry one morning and decided to give it a try. Parked right infront of it and went in. Service is amazing , very friendly staff and very accommodating, I asked for a replacement on the steak and eggs plate and she happily made it for me. The steak was cooked perfectly and the lime gremolata sauce was perfection. Now for the coffee, just try the golden state latte, it's a warm hug in a cup. Amazing and healthy for you too. I was excited to try this place after seeing so many interesting menu items, hence why I ended up getting the Breakfast Co Flight! I started with orange juice though which was good, I only ever like it fresh squeezed so that was nice! I then got eggs and toast which were both great but I was unfortunately let down by the flight. I feel like this was a case of topping overload, although the waffle and pancakes themselves lacked some flavor when I tried to get them separate from the topping. I could've had more marshmallow topping since chocolate always seems to overpower marshmallow in s'mores flavored stuff. The chocolate was good but it just wasn't balanced with the marshmallow, and the marshmallows are the best part of smores (in my opinion!) The frosting on the banana bread pancakes just tasted like straight up cream cheese to me and I couldn't eat it. I usually don't like cream cheese frosting anyway but I've had it from a few places recently where it's been more balanced and I was hoping that would be the case here but it wasn't. The French toast by itself was really good actually, but I did not like the custard on top, it needed more sugar because I liked the part that was bruleed, but that was only a small spot in the middle. There wasn't a lot that made me want to keep going so I left quite a bit on the plate which I felt bad about wasting. Maybe I'm just a bit too picky but I loved the nod to this neighborhood's queer community and the vibes are great. I still would support it and try some other menu items next time. Hopefully if you're reading this review deciding whether to go or not, I'd encourage you to try and see if it matches your tastes more than mine since I seem to be in the minority just by looking at the rest of the reviews! read more

Friendly handsome men are working hard servicing their customers promptly and quickly. $20 Potato Rosti with Salmon...delightful! I spent some time in Switzerland, and love a good rosti! Salmon was fresh and lovely...I just wish the portion size was a bit larger. $15 Seven Grain Bowl...wife wanted to be healthy, and healthy it is! Almond Chia pudding, fresh berries, granola, and seasonable schrub. Great for your body, but probably won't fix a hangover, and you'll be hungry for a snack in 60-90 minutes. I have been here 4 times and it's been a joy every single time. I have a gluten allergy and the waffles and gf pancake are to die for. I highly recommend getting an omelette and substituting a gf pancake for the toast for $4. The service is always incredible but Earl went above and beyond! He is absolutely incredible, very attentive, and sweet!! Also the manager swung by our table to make sure my friend and I who both have severe but differing allergies would be well taken care of. I was looking for brunch and didn't want to deal with getting across CicLAvia Melrose. I'd always thought about trying Breakfast Republic, and apparently Breakfast Company is the same ownership/restaurant--just a rebrand for whatever reason. (Breakfast Republic was kind of a weird name, so I like the new one better.) So off I went. It was busy without being packed, and I was shown to a table inside (my preference). My server was friendly, and from having reviewed the menu online, I already knew what I wanted: The Goat, an omelet (though it could also be a scramble) with eggs, goat cheese, caramelized onions and bacon. It came with my choice of toast (I opted for multigrain) and potatoes. Things were generally good. The omelet was generously filled with goat cheese, and I discovered that the filling--which I enjoyed--also went well with the potatoes, which were fluffy and crispy and nicely cooked. The one weak spot was the toast. It was verging on burnt. I let the server know, and he immediately offered to have them redo it. I decided, however, to pass on that, because as I told him, after nibbling one of the less well-done parts, it didn't taste like any multigrain I'd had before and gave more of a pumpernickel vibe. In short, it wouldn't have been particularly enjoyable even if it had been done correctly. If I'd known, I'd have ordered something else (perhaps sourdough). Atmosphere is pleasant--perhaps trying a little too hard to be West Hollywood for me--and service was good. I'd certainly come back if I wanted a solid brunch close by. read more

If you are in the market for hot food, competent service, in a pleasant environment then this establishment (and I use that word loosely) a brand redesign of the previously mediocre Breakfast Republic -then this place is not for you. Breakfast Company is all filler and no killer, go for the booze after binging drugs all night long, but don't go there if you care about anything other than your Bloody Mary- we think, we weren't there to drink. We just wanted breakfast. The patio seating is the equivalent of eating on the shoulder of the 405, as Santa Monica Blvd is essentially a highway. The irony is there is seating around the corner on Formosa Ave that is quiet, but they had that seating inexplicably closed on a Saturday. The inside is so appallingly loud you cannot eat in there unless of course you're still tweaking from the night. Our poor waiter was struggling with the ordering mechanism at the table, as though he was trying to solve a calculus problem. But he was the least of our problems. We sent back cold pancakes and toast, we accidentally poured a reservoir of their house ketchup onto lukewarm potatoes, we had to ask for silverware once our food arrived, and we got to pay 55.00 for this. My friend was impressed with their water glasses. The water was the best thing. At the moment this is not a real restaurant. Hopefully they get their act together. read more

Greeting Yelpers! This was my first visit to Breakfast Company. The following are my thoughts on: Food: tasty and "okay". Nothing to "Yelp" about. I ordered the Meat Lovers omelette and their cinnamon coffee cake. The omelette was tasty. Sadly, the Coffee Cinnamon cake fell "flat" on taste and texture. It was dry. If you love merry-mosas like I do, it is best you order a bottle of sparkling wine and OJ! Individual merry-mosas start at $10.50 a single serving whereas a bottle of sparkling wine and OJ is $32. Service: Satisfactory. I had the honor of chatting with the owner, Kasey, who was very friendly. Ambiance: Pleasant. I sat outside. I didn't mind the street noise. I had a simple 3 scrambled eggs, wheat toast and potatoes. I got maybe 2 eggs, the toast was made from $2.50 a loaf brown bread and the potatoes were frozen cubes tossed in a deep fryer. The service was good and the coffee was nice. But, all in all, Very disappointing. I definitely will not return. read more
