Been dying to try this brunch place for a while... the Thai chicken and waffles didn't disappoint!! The fried chicken was super flavorful and juicy while the waffle was super fluffy and crisp. The dish came with soft whipped butter, sweet spicy chili sauce, and maple syrup on the side. We had to wait around 10-20 minutes to get seated but the servers were super attentive. The inside was much more boho and casual than I expected with some fake flowers on the wall and a fish aquarium. I wanna come back to try the Thai omelette and the waffle and lox!
Really great food and nice service. The bussers were especially on top of refilling our water and kept everything moving smoothly. I do wish they had some non-pork breakfast meat options. They have indoor seating and a small patio. If you're coming with a group larger than four, I'd recommend making a reservation. Even on a late Tuesday morning, our group of four had to wait for a table inside--which usually means they're doing something right. I got the crispy cinnamon swirl French toast with Nutella and syrup, and it was delicious, but very sweet. Pairing it with their super sweet Thai iced tea was probably a mistake on my part. Next time I'd try something more savory. Overall, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't somewhere I'd go out of my way for. That said, I'd happily come back if a friend invited me.
Pretty delicious! The latte was my favorite. The food was fresh and the service wad great, super attentive and quick. Walked out super full and excited to try the place across the street.
Finally got a chance to try this place. We arrived around 1 p.m., so it wasn't busy, but it's likely much more crowded in the mornings. It's a very classic American-style breakfast spot with huge portions. There aren't many options if you don't eat bacon, but I still really enjoyed my eggs Benedict -- it was delicious.The waffles are a must-try! So good. They offer a variety of flavors, and we got one topped with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella -- absolutely amazing. Service was top-notch as well. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
Trying 1-2 new breakfast spots each month has officially become a family tradition, and our first stop was Met Her At A Bar. It definitely lives up to the hype--this place draws everyone from locals to celebrities. The menu had so many tempting options that choosing was honestly the hardest part. I went with the Breakfast Sandwich and added Truffle Parmesan Fries, my wife ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict with potatoes, and we got a waffle with whipped cream and fresh fruit for our son. Everything hit. My breakfast sandwich was incredible--the bun was soft, the ingredients were well-balanced, and the chipotle aioli really took it to another level. The Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, and the hollandaise had a rich, flavorful finish. The waffle had that ideal texture: slightly crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. We enjoyed the food so much that there was barely anything left to take home. On top of that, the staff was warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The only downside is parking--since there's no dedicated lot, finding street parking can take a bit of patience. Overall, we'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.
a cute brunch spot in a great area! it was a little busy on a weekend morning, so i would try to get on the yelp waitlist asap! we were seated in 15-20 minutes for two people. service was very attentive throughout our meal. i liked their fruity mimosa options, and the peach bellini was perfect for me! im always happy to see a vegetarian eggs benedict on a brunch menu, and they executed it well! potatoes are nice and crispy, and i love the diced onions and peppers included with it. if you like spice, you MUST ask for the habanero sauce! it has a nice kick and slight sweetness to it, it complemented my meal well. overall, definitely coming back if im in the area
Enjoyed Met Her At A Bar for an early Sunday morning breakfast and even though I arrived 30 mins after opening it was already packed with only communal seating available. Service was excellent from start to finish. I had Eggs Benedict with fruit and a waffle. The food was good but forgettable like a true diner. Eggs were poached perfectly but the ham was a bunch of thin deli slices and the hollandaise was fairly neutral. My cappuccino was made so well I ordered two. When I return I'm going to try the steak & waffle dish because it looked amazing.
Came here with a friend and had the best experience!! We both parked about a block south of the restaurant, super easy street parking. We got onto the waitlist super quickly and overall our wait was about 10minutes so it was really quick. The restaurant was super cute inside and they also had outdoor seating. The staff were super friendly and helped us pick out our orders. We got the matcha, chai, fried chicken and waffles, and the French toast. I only got a picture of the French toast because we ate everything so fast but it was all delicious. This was such a great brunch spot and will definitely be back!

Food hit the spot, no complaints. It was calm at first, but like a plot twist, the place filled up fast. Clearly, I'm not the only one with good taste. Also, the butterfly decor? Stopped by Meet Her at the Bar this morning and it totally hit the spot. Ordered the eggs with bacon, berry waffles, and a coffee. The eggs were perfectly cooked, crispy bacon, and those waffles were fluffy with fresh berries and just the right touch of sweetness. Coffee was strong and hot. Last year, my New Year's resolution was to eat more waffles (especially with chicken), so I started the year off with the Thai chicken and waffles from met her at a bar. They absolutely blew me away, and I was excited to try more waffles throughout the year. Unfortunately, I set the bar way too high and no other place came close to the flavor and quality that I found at met her at a bar. I ordered waffles at breakfast spots all around Southern California. I was more often disappointed than pleased, and even when I found a great waffle, I still longed for another bite of the Thai chicken and waffles from met her at a bar. Trying this one first was a big mistake that made all other waffles taste bad. After a year of trying all the waffles, my return to met her at a bar was like coming home. There is simply nothing like the Thai chicken and waffles. It always tastes as good as the first time! Not only are the Thai fried chicken and waffles amazing, but also everything about this place is perfect. The decorations inside are fun and quirky, and everyone there is so nice! Other dishes I've loved: Thai omelette -- flavor party for da mouth Waffle with berries -- simple and perfect. The absolute perfection of the waffle really shines when it's paired with only berries and cream. It's like eating a perfect little baby angel. :) After a year of tasting as many waffles as possible (and learning to dislike them in the process), I can say with full confidence that Met Her At A Bar has the best waffles I've ever tried!! The story continues! We visited Met Him At A Bar a couple weeks ago and made a promise to visit all four spots that are owned by the same couple within the same block. Met Her At A Bar is a breakfast/brunch/lunch place that has meals ranging from waffles and pancakes to breakfast burritos and chicken sandwiches. During our visit, we ordered the Matcha waffles with a side of fruit, breakfast burrito, khai jiao (thai omelette), and chilaquiles. The matcha waffles had a smaller portion and milder taste than expected but it was still really good! The side of fruit definitely elevated the taste of the meal. The breakfast burrito was pretty good! I don't think there's anything I would change about it. The khai jiao and the chilaquiles were a bit underwhelming. The khai jiao had too much rice and the omelette itself didn't have any taste nor other vegetables in it. The chilaquiles was lacking in flavor. It seemed like a really basic dish. For drinks we got the matcha latte, power chai latte, and cappuccino. They were all really good! The matcha latte was on the sweeter side and had a mild matcha taste. The power chai was enjoyable, I would get it again. Met Her At A Bar is definitely a cute place to catch up with friends at or do a cute little brunch date with your significant other. Just beware as lines and the wait could get long especially on the weekend!
Came here on a Saturday morning around 10am. We were a party of 2 but only waited about 35 minutes to our surprise. There's indoor and outdoor seating but we got seated outside but there's shade. You have to find street parking and most of the spots require a toll. The food here was amazing and blew my mind. We actually went to Republique before but the line was ridiculous so we came here. The steak, eggs and waffle dish was chef's kiss and hit the spot. 10/10 would come back.

Came here for brunch with my girlfriend and we had a really good experience! We ordered a few different things so we could try a little bit of everything. I got the Ribeye Steak & Egg Waffle, which came with a waffle, medium-rare ribeye, sunny-side-up eggs, potatoes, and onions. The steak and eggs made it super filling, and I liked having the sweet waffle alongside the savory breakfast. I also had a red sangria, which was refreshing and paired really well with everything. My girlfriend got the Oh Wow Crispy French Toast and the All American Breakfast. The French toast was definitely a standout cinnamon swirl brioche with crème brûlée, corn flakes, berries, and Nutella. It was crispy, sweet, and loaded with toppings. The All American was a solid classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and potatoes. We also split an order of the truffled waffle fries, and those were really good. They came out crispy, well seasoned, and topped with plenty of parmesan. Definitely worth getting for the table. Service was great as well. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and attentive, and our food and drinks came out without us feeling rushed. Our server checked in on us throughout the meal and made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was one of my favorite parts. It has a casual, lively brunch atmosphere with an indoor/outdoor feel, plenty of natural light, and a relaxed setup that makes it a good spot for a weekend brunch or brunch date. It felt energetic without being overly formal. Overall, we left very full and happy. The portions are generous, there's a lot of variety on the menu, and the combination of good food, drinks, service, and atmosphere made for a great brunch. Really enjoyed this brunch restaurant. Stopped by to kill time before LACMA opened and it was the right choice. Cute little hole in the wall. Has limited seating inside and out so get there early if you can! I love the decor with the butterflies on the wall and they are playing chill jams. They have a cute chalkboard off the menu and a cool photo wall is celebrities who have visited. My fiancé and I tried the Huevos Rancheros plate, Peaches and Cream Waffle, and the Thai Style Fried Chicken plate. Along with their two drinks; Sunset Refresher & Blueberry Vanilla Cold Foam Matcha. Huevos Rancheros were a hit. To be honest I thought the dish to be a small serving at first. But it's actually a good portion. You get three tostadas stacked and layered with black beans and mozzarella and topped off with over easy eggs and salsa. I loved how the corn tortillas maintained their crunch and never got soggy. The habanero salsa that it came had a good KICK. Peaches and Cream waffle was good as well. It is seasonal so we jumped on the opportunity. Waffle was thick and fluffy that came with powdered sugar and cinnamon. The peaches were also thick and the sauce it came was light and sweet. Can never go wrong with ice cream and waffles. The Thai Style chicken was pleasant surprise. Before we ate the chicken, I tried a piece of the breading and I knew it was gonna be a good one. Lots of flavor from the tom yum seasoning and the chicken was a decent size. It's not spicy and comes with a sweet sauce to dip in. The bell peppers balanced out this dish. I was a fan of the sunset refresher. It's a mix of hibiscus, pineapple and lemonade. It's more tart than sweet but refreshing. The blueberry cold foam iced matcha was solid. Not too sweet and properly balance. Overall a good brunch spot with a large menu guaranteed to have you come back to try other things. A little pricey. read more

The waitlist is insanely long only because their seating service is comically slow -- we saw so many empty tables despite a 90 minute wait because they have a 10 minute grace period once you're notified. With a restaurant this small, I feel like anything beyond 5 minutes is overly generous because otherwise you'll have 20 parties on the waitlist grumbling on why we can't be seated. Service otherwise was very nice, although they also seemed overwhelmed inside. That being said, the chicken and waffles were so perfectly savory and sweet, slightly spicy and sour -- that makes it worth going. We ate on the Dine LA menu so we also got a first course of truffle toast, which was a solid toast with fluffy eggs and flavorful ham atop a soft yet crunchy sourdough. The truffle oil is 100% a cheat code to make anything feel more elevated! read more

Cute place inside and the service is pretty nice and attentive, but I got the Thai omelette with potatoes on the side instead of rice and I didn't find the potatoes had much flavor. Thai omelette was good and had a nice little kick with the onions and jalapeños, I just wish I got the rice. There are waffles all over the mural on the wall, so I think I ordered wrong and should try the waffle instead next time. read more

I came here with my boyfriend and tried met her at a bar for the first time, and it ended up being such a good choice. I ordered the classic breakfast with waffles topped with berries, plus eggs and bacon on the side everything was really good. I also got a matcha, which was okay, but personally I wish it had a stronger matcha flavor since it tasted a bit watered down :): My boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles with asada, and those were absolutely delicious. The ambiance is cute, but it does get pretty packed we had to wait a bit since there was a waitlist. Honestly though, it's such a cute brunch vibe and perfect for a little date moment, so I didn't mind at all! read more

Met Her at a Bar is actually really good lolol. The owners actually met at a bar, so it's a super cute story. They are known for their waffles, and it can be a wait during brunch/lunch (we waited over 30 minutes). I ordered the Chicken and Waffles for $23, plus $2.50 for the vegan waffle option, and my partner ordered the breakfast burrito for $19. The chicken and waffles are what they are known for, and it's so worth it. Service was excellent. The place is small. Also, we were lucky and found free street parking nearby, but be sure to read the signs. read more

I loved the onions and peppers with the potatoes and the Benedict's on the waffle was delicious! I ended up getting the hibiscus mimosa also which was tasty that I ended up getting a second one. The service was amazing! It was very nice and the ambiance was very good, not too crazy, it is a small restaurant so keep that in mind. Overall, I would definitely go again! I've been to their other restaurant; Met Him at a Bar and I would love to try the others too. read more

The food here is fantastic. The house hot sauce packs a kick. The French toast and waffle were both sweet without being overly so. The spot itself is smaller. You need to get there earlier to avoid a long wait on weekends. We were sat in about 25-30 minutes around 9:30am. Once sat, it's very cute and feels homey. Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods is a breath of fresh air in LA, if you are willing to walk a few minutes. Taking off a star for the service. The servers and waiters are kind, but it felt like they were actively avoiding eye contact when we tried to flag them down. They are understandably busy but it wasn't until the manager was making his rounds to check in on tables that I was able to ask for sauce and water. All that said, it was a cute place with good food that I would be going back to. read more
This was a great spot to grab a quick breakfast at before heading into the office. The service was friendly and quick and the coffee was so good. I loved the cold brew and lavender. Every time I'm in LA I have to make a detour to stop here for brunch. Everything on the menu is so good and I have had truly zero complaints. On my last visit just a few days ago, I had the steak and eggs and it was cooked perfectly. Everything tasted amazing. All of my friends said their meals were great too. The service is always top notch as well. Everyone is nice and helpful and even when my friend had a couple issues with her order, they were quick to fix the situation. The place itself is very small and they don't take reservations so make sure to either join the online wait list (which can be inaccurate at times) or get there early. Delicious! The service is welcoming and kind. Each server can help guide you to pick the best waffles or other items on the menu. My husband and I go there a few times a month. The food never gets old. I do suggest people who go on first dates to go here because the ambiance is fresh, unique and original. The owners do have other restaurants around the area like across the street that you can try too. read more

Met Her At a Bar is located in L.A. Street parking only and very small venue, not recommended for large groups. We had the pleasure of being served by Caspian (sorry if I spelt your name wrong)! Caspian was AMAZING! Our food came out in a timely manner and Caspian checked on us regularly to see if we were good and to top off refills on drinks. Love, love, love Caspian's vibe! I ordered the Waffle and Berries along with a hot cocoa. Waffle was cooked to perfection! Proportion of berries to waffle was spot on. Texture of waffle was just enough crisp outside and soft inside. Hot cocoa was a miss for me. It was not piping hot as I expected and was more on the watered down taste side. Besides the bust on the hot cocoa...everything else was amazing! Across the street is "Met Him At a Bar" then across the street the other direction is "The Night We Met". I don't know if all is owned by the same person but hella cool concept, I must say! i've been hearing so much about this place and i finally made time to try it! we came on a saturday at 10am, and got on the waitlist - they said it would be 20 minutes, and it went by super quick! the interior theme is so adorable with waffle patterns and butterflies on the walls, and has a lot of character. the place itself is slightly small. i ordered the breakfast sandwich with additional waffles fries and parmesan + truffle (4/5). the fries were so delicious i loved the parmesan and truffle combo. the sauce on the sandwich was pretty overpowering and it was pretty much all i tasted; i was expecting to taste more of the egg and bacon. i can confirm that the sandwich tastes even better reheated because the bun was crunchier & the sauce dried out lol. the servers were super attentive and nice! overall a cute brunch spot, and i'd hope to try other items on the menu. read more

This place was the cutest but it doesn't stop there. The service was amazing; everyone we encountered from the hostess to the person who took payment for our bill was so kind and happy to help/answer questions. The menu had a great selection and the avocado toast and burrito were so good! Portions were generous. Came here with my bridesmaids during my bachelorette week. The ambiance is soooo Cute! The food was decently priced. I was expecting a Belgian waffle but the regular waffle was still good. If i could give this place 10/5 stars I would. Absolutely love their chicken and waffles. They NEVER fail. The taste is so good especially with their Thai sauce. Fries are good too, mimosas are yum. Orange juice is for some reason really good too. Everything is just so good. We take every guest from out of state here and it never fails. Most items on the menu are a hit. Love love love it! And the staff is super sweet and helpful ALL the time. They often go out of their way for you. And not to mention their tables have purse hooks. Went on a Sunday, wait was about 10-15 minutes. The service was pretty decent. Their waffles are good as well. I got their vegan salted caramel waffle and it was super filling, especially with the sides. The drinks were meh. My chai tasted watered down. Inside seating is on the smaller side. read more

Loved it...and the name too! Cozy place, great ambience with available outdoor seating as well. The staff were prompt, attentive and very friendly. I had the Thai-style Chicken n Waffles- flavorful crunchy chicken and delicious waffle with butter, syrup and thai sauce (a must try!). My husband couldn't get enough of the crispy brioche french toast, full of berries and cinnamon goodness. Cappuccino was great too! Can't wait to come back, as well as try one of their other restaurants. read more

You can, but the inside can get a bit crowded and I'm not sure how nice a carrier will fit in some places.

Yeah. Unfortunately the mimosa stop at 12. Just kidding! All food and drinks are available all day. From open to close :).

Hey Theresa, the power chai doesn't have espresso in it. If you would like to add a shot. Just ask for a dirty power Chai :).
Does this place offer bottomless mimosas?
You must wear pants AT ALL TIMES, otherwise they will throw you out.

I have a party of 5 plus a small puppy Currently is carried in puppy stroller how would this work cause most outside seats are for 2?
We had a party of 4 and they just combined tables outside to accommodate us. Just keep in mind, the larger the party, the longer the wait will be.
Is this place good for a large group of 10?
It's a very popular, and relatively small place, so if you go during a peak brunch time, you may have to wait. Not sure if they take reservations, but the couple that owns this restaurant just opened another restaurant right across the street…
Does BYOB also apply to Sunday brunch? Since you dont do bottomless can we bring our own and pay the $20 corkage fee?
