Really great food and nice service. The bussers were especially on top of refilling our water and kept everything moving smoothly. I do wish they had some non-pork breakfast meat options. They have indoor seating and a small patio. If you're coming with a group larger than four, I'd recommend making a reservation. Even on a late Tuesday morning, our group of four had to wait for a table inside--which usually means they're doing something right. I got the crispy cinnamon swirl French toast with Nutella and syrup, and it was delicious, but very sweet. Pairing it with their super sweet Thai iced tea was probably a mistake on my part. Next time I'd try something more savory. Overall, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't somewhere I'd go out of my way for. That said, I'd happily come back if a friend invited me.

Finally got a chance to try this place. We arrived around 1 p.m., so it wasn't busy, but it's likely much more crowded in the mornings. It's a very classic American-style breakfast spot with huge portions. There aren't many options if you don't eat bacon, but I still really enjoyed my eggs Benedict -- it was delicious.The waffles are a must-try! So good. They offer a variety of flavors, and we got one topped with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella -- absolutely amazing. Service was top-notch as well. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

Stopped by Meet Her at the Bar this morning and it totally hit the spot. Ordered the eggs with bacon, berry waffles, and a coffee. The eggs were perfectly cooked, crispy bacon, and those waffles were fluffy with fresh berries and just the right touch of sweetness. Coffee was strong and hot. Chill vibe, friendly service, and everything came out quick. Definitely going back.

Trying 1-2 new breakfast spots each month has officially become a family tradition, and our first stop was Met Her At A Bar. It definitely lives up to the hype--this place draws everyone from locals to celebrities. The menu had so many tempting options that choosing was honestly the hardest part. I went with the Breakfast Sandwich and added Truffle Parmesan Fries, my wife ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict with potatoes, and we got a waffle with whipped cream and fresh fruit for our son. Everything hit. My breakfast sandwich was incredible--the bun was soft, the ingredients were well-balanced, and the chipotle aioli really took it to another level. The Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, and the hollandaise had a rich, flavorful finish. The waffle had that ideal texture: slightly crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. We enjoyed the food so much that there was barely anything left to take home. On top of that, the staff was warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The only downside is parking--since there's no dedicated lot, finding street parking can take a bit of patience. Overall, we'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

Delicious! The service is welcoming and kind. Each server can help guide you to pick the best waffles or other items on the menu. My husband and I go there a few times a month. The food never gets old. I do suggest people who go on first dates to go here because the ambiance is fresh, unique and original. The owners do have other restaurants around the area like across the street that you can try too.

Breakfast burrito and crisFrench Crispy French Toast

The food here is fantastic. The house hot sauce packs a kick. The French toast and waffle were both sweet without being overly so. The spot itself is smaller. You need to get there earlier to avoid a long wait on weekends. We were sat in about 25-30 minutes around 9:30am. Once sat, it's very cute and feels homey. Parking in the surrounding neighborhoods is a breath of fresh air in LA, if you are willing to walk a few minutes. Taking off a star for the service. The servers and waiters are kind, but it felt like they were actively avoiding eye contact when we tried to flag them down. They are understandably busy but it wasn't until the manager was making his rounds to check in on tables that I was able to ask for sauce and water. All that said, it was a cute place with good food that I would be going back to.

I loved the onions and peppers with the potatoes and the Benedict's on the waffle was delicious! I ended up getting the hibiscus mimosa also which was tasty that I ended up getting a second one. The service was amazing! It was very nice and the ambiance was very good, not too crazy, it is a small restaurant so keep that in mind. Overall, I would definitely go again! I've been to their other restaurant; Met Him at a Bar and I would love to try the others too.

Enjoyed Met Her At A Bar for an early Sunday morning breakfast and even though I arrived 30 mins after opening it was already packed with only communal seating available. Service was excellent from start to finish. I had Eggs Benedict with fruit and a waffle. The food was good but forgettable like a true diner. Eggs were poached perfectly but the ham was a bunch of thin deli slices and the hollandaise was fairly neutral. My cappuccino was made so well I ordered two. When I return I'm going to try the steak & waffle dish because it looked amazing.

Came here with a friend and had the best experience!! We both parked about a block south of the restaurant, super easy street parking. We got onto the waitlist super quickly and overall our wait was about 10minutes so it was really quick. The restaurant was super cute inside and they also had outdoor seating. The staff were super friendly and helped us pick out our orders. We got the matcha, chai, fried chicken and waffles, and the French toast. I only got a picture of the French toast because we ate everything so fast but it was all delicious. This was such a great brunch spot and will definitely be back!

Trying this one first was a big mistake that made all other waffles taste bad. After a year of trying all the waffles, my return to met her at a bar was like coming home. There is simply nothing like the Thai chicken and waffles. It always tastes as good as the first time! Not only are the Thai fried chicken and waffles amazing, but also everything about this place is perfect. The decorations inside are fun and quirky, and everyone there is so nice! Other dishes I've loved: Thai omelette -- flavor party for da mouth Waffle with berries -- simple and perfect. The absolute perfection of the waffle really shines when it's paired with only berries and cream. It's like eating a perfect little baby angel. :) After a year of tasting as many waffles as possible (and learning to dislike them in the process), I can say with full confidence that Met Her At A Bar has the best waffles I've ever tried!! I came here with my boyfriend and tried met her at a bar for the first time, and it ended up being such a good choice. I ordered the classic breakfast with waffles topped with berries, plus eggs and bacon on the side everything was really good. I also got a matcha, which was okay, but personally I wish it had a stronger matcha flavor since it tasted a bit watered down :): My boyfriend ordered the chilaquiles with asada, and those were absolutely delicious. The ambiance is cute, but it does get pretty packed we had to wait a bit since there was a waitlist. Honestly though, it's such a cute brunch vibe and perfect for a little date moment, so I didn't mind at all!

The story continues! We visited Met Him At A Bar a couple weeks ago and made a promise to visit all four spots that are owned by the same couple within the same block. Met Her At A Bar is a breakfast/brunch/lunch place that has meals ranging from waffles and pancakes to breakfast burritos and chicken sandwiches. During our visit, we ordered the Matcha waffles with a side of fruit, breakfast burrito, khai jiao (thai omelette), and chilaquiles. The matcha waffles had a smaller portion and milder taste than expected but it was still really good! The side of fruit definitely elevated the taste of the meal. The breakfast burrito was pretty good! I don't think there's anything I would change about it. The khai jiao and the chilaquiles were a bit underwhelming. The khai jiao had too much rice and the omelette itself didn't have any taste nor other vegetables in it. The chilaquiles was lacking in flavor. It seemed like a really basic dish. For drinks we got the matcha latte, power chai latte, and cappuccino. They were all really good! The matcha latte was on the sweeter side and had a mild matcha taste. The power chai was enjoyable, I would get it again. Met Her At A Bar is definitely a cute place to catch up with friends at or do a cute little brunch date with your significant other. Just beware as lines and the wait could get long especially on the weekend!

a cute brunch spot in a great area! it was a little busy on a weekend morning, so i would try to get on the yelp waitlist asap! we were seated in 15-20 minutes for two people. service was very attentive throughout our meal. i liked their fruity mimosa options, and the peach bellini was perfect for me! im always happy to see a vegetarian eggs benedict on a brunch menu, and they executed it well! potatoes are nice and crispy, and i love the diced onions and peppers included with it. if you like spice, you MUST ask for the habanero sauce! it has a nice kick and slight sweetness to it, it complemented my meal well. overall, definitely coming back if im in the area read more

Came here on a Saturday morning around 10am. We were a party of 2 but only waited about 35 minutes to our surprise. There's indoor and outdoor seating but we got seated outside but there's shade. You have to find street parking and most of the spots require a toll. The food here was amazing and blew my mind. We actually went to Republique before but the line was ridiculous so we came here. The steak, eggs and waffle dish was chef's kiss and hit the spot. 10/10 would come back. read more

The waitlist is insanely long only because their seating service is comically slow -- we saw so many empty tables despite a 90 minute wait because they have a 10 minute grace period once you're notified. With a restaurant this small, I feel like anything beyond 5 minutes is overly generous because otherwise you'll have 20 parties on the waitlist grumbling on why we can't be seated. Service otherwise was very nice, although they also seemed overwhelmed inside. That being said, the chicken and waffles were so perfectly savory and sweet, slightly spicy and sour -- that makes it worth going. This is one of the best breakfast spots I've been to. The waffles were outstanding, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The quality of the food was excellent, and the service was just as impressive. As someone from the East Coast, I wasn't expecting to find a breakfast experience that could compare to some of my favorites back home, but this place exceeded my expectations. They are known for their waffles, and it can be a wait during brunch/lunch (we waited over 30 minutes). Every time I'm in LA I have to make a detour to stop here for brunch. Everything on the menu is so good and I have had truly zero complaints. On my last visit just a few days ago, I had the steak and eggs and it was cooked perfectly. Everything tasted amazing. All of my friends said their meals were great too. The service is always top notch as well. Everyone is nice and helpful and even when my friend had a couple issues with her order, they were quick to fix the situation. The place itself is very small and they don't take reservations so make sure to either join the online wait list (which can be inaccurate at times) or get there early. i've been hearing so much about this place and i finally made time to try it! we came on a saturday at 10am, and got on the waitlist - they said it would be 20 minutes, and it went by super quick! the interior theme is so adorable with waffle patterns and butterflies on the walls, and has a lot of character. the place itself is slightly small. i ordered the breakfast sandwich with additional waffles fries and parmesan + truffle (4/5). the fries were so delicious i loved the parmesan and truffle combo. the sauce on the sandwich was pretty overpowering and it was pretty much all i tasted; i was expecting to taste more of the egg and bacon. i can confirm that the sandwich tastes even better reheated because the bun was crunchier & the sauce dried out lol. the servers were super attentive and nice! overall a cute brunch spot, and i'd hope to try other items on the menu. read more

If i could give this place 10/5 stars I would. Absolutely love their chicken and waffles. They NEVER fail. The taste is so good especially with their Thai sauce. Fries are good too, mimosas are yum. Orange juice is for some reason really good too. Everything is just so good. We take every guest from out of state here and it never fails. Most items on the menu are a hit. Love love love it! And the staff is super sweet and helpful ALL the time. They often go out of their way for you. And not to mention their tables have purse hooks. They gave our food without ever giving us our utensils until asked. Waffle with egg, sausage, and bacon = 2 at best. Nothing special with their waffles. Eggs and sausage tastes like airplane food. Thai omelette with rice = 2.5. Egg was at least flavorful but still nothing special or anything I would come back for. Matcha latte = 3. Mediocre. Not enough sweetness for my liking. Parking is difficult for this location it's on the corner of a busy street and there is no parking lot it's all street parking . It's a small location that's always busy so you can expect a wait of anywhere from 30-45 minutes or more depending on the time you go . The staff is friendly and you get your food pretty quickly after ordering . I ate a waffle with fresh fruit , crispy bacon , sausage , and scrambled eggs that were under cooked a little too soft for my taste . They have a yummy Carmel waffle that's vegan and absolutely delicious. If you in the mood for mimosas be prepared to spend $15 or you can order a flight (4) for $40. Coffee is strong and will grow hair on your chest ! It definitely woke me up . All in all I liked the food and would come again however I think that paying $135 for 3 people to eat breakfast is a little pricey ! Especially for not drinking any alcohol. read more

Me and my fiance met at a bar! We opened our cafe based everything we love: people, waffles and coffee.

Meet the Business Owner: Mindy and Vincent M.

It was truly a perfect starry spring night on the sunset strip when she entered, and I noticed her immediately from behind the bar. I was unable to keep my eyes off of her. Time was of the essence and I began to worry that I would lose the chance to say hello before she vanished into the LA night. Three sheets to the wind I said and I introduced my self. Unfortunately, the wind was not strong enough and I did not land her number. Thank goodness for social media; after finally tracking her down we connected, and to this day she thanks me for the stalking. Fast Forward a few years later we opened our own café together called, "Met Her At A Bar." So come hang with us and enjoy our homemade Belgium waffles and curated coffees!

The skin was freshly made, the texture was perfect, and it had a good amount of toppings. It was also quite nice for its price. It reminds me of the Dan Bing I ate back in Taiwan. Definitely give this place a shot to try out some Taiwanese breakfast!

Pre-Covid review and 4 months overdue! Met Her At A Bar. What an adorable name. I wonder where she is now and if she knows that there's a restaurant named after the experience of meeting her at a bar. *Looks over across the street* OHHHH. So that's where she is and she really Met Him At A Bar. Awwww you guys, that's so romantic! (Note to self: check out Met Him At A Bar in the future). This brunch spot was one of the last restaurants my husband and I went to for dine-in before the covid lockdown. Good thing we had a great experience cause who would've thought that in just a few weeks, we won't be able to do that for quite a while. We joined the waitlist for 12:30 pm (thank god for this feature on Yelp!) and checked in on the specified time. It's a popular brunch spot and they were very busy even though it was a weekday. It's a small restaurant so wait times can be long even with the waitlist feature. We probably got seated 30-45 minutes after we checked-in. My husband got the fried chicken + waffles Thai style and I had the You Make Me Wake Up Happy. My order is pretty basic- it's just eggs, sausage, bacon, and waffles and you can't really mess that up. Loved the waffles though! It made me feel warm and loved. Lol. The Thai style fried chicken and waffles on the other hand was amaaaazing. It's juicy, crispy, and you get that good tom yum flavor. Order it! It was a busy day but service was excellent. Everybody was just friendly and chill. Food and coffee came out fast and even though there were dozens of people waiting outside, we didn't feel like we were being rushed through our meal. Easy parking. So, I finally made it back to Met Her At A Bar after a few months away, and let me tell you, it was a weird welcome back. Last time I was here was in January before I jetted off to Miami. I usually bounce between the two cities, and this spot has always felt like my LA home. But after this last visit, I'm not sure I'll be back anytime soon. The whole vibe has changed. Management is completely different, and the staff I didn't recognize look super stressed and overwhelmed. The atmosphere inside has just gone downhill. The music is blasting way too loud, and they got rid of the patio, so now there's hardly any seating. It's just not the same cozy place I used to love. Looks like I'll be on the hunt for a new regular cafe. But shoutout to the OG staff who've been there a while - keep killing it. They always manage to keep a smile on their face, and give the warmest welcomes. read more

Met Her At A Bar, is now one of my all time favorite places to visit when I'm in LA. I discovered this place while deciding on a brunch place between Republique and others in the area, however this brunch place caught my eye and I had to go here. It's instagram able, but delicious at the same time. I liked that they provide their menu with QR code on each tables. Services were awesome, servers were very attentive while having a good balance of giving people space. Aside from all of that, their food was mind blowing with flavors and spices. I tried their alfredo chicken and waffles along with thai omelette and french toast for dessert. I dont think it was because this was the second restaurant i visited since restaurant were reopening that made the experience phenomenal, but from plenty of diverse restaurants Ive' been in LA, I would highly recommend this place. read more

I recently had a brunch experience at 'Met Her at a Bar' The food they served was undeniably delicious, and that's something they should be proud of. However, I did find a couple of things a bit unexpected. When I received the bill, there was already an 18% tip included. But then, I was also given the option to add an extra tip using the payment machine, which caught me off guard. Another thing that caught my attention was a charge labeled 'HealthLove Kitchen.' When I asked them what it is, they said it's refundable, which made me unsure what they were doing with me if I didn't ask. While the food was definitely a highlight, I have to admit that these aspects left me feeling a bit unsure about the overall experience. We get there around 9:20 the place was already busy ,we were a group of 10 , they told us they don't normally seat groups over 8 people but fortunately at that moment they could do an acepción because it was slow at that moment they said. So we waited more than an hour to be seated. (I have no rush so that's not a problem for me, but kids had another perspective ) a soon we were seated a friendly server took our orders, surprisingly drinks and food was out quickly . Everything was delicious not disappointed at all. My kids really enjoyed their French toast and waffles. 4.25 STARS I've been driving past this place for a while now...wondering what it was like. There was a parking spot available on the other side, felt hungry and took the opportunity. So glad I did. I'm forever annoyed that trendy places serve almond milk coffee instead of soya....because most places F it up. But it was GREAT coffee, I mean delicious-morish. I ordered the "wake up happy" waffle - bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage, side waffle. OMG!! Full but want to try something else on the menu...have to hold back. :) I've found my Coffee & Waffle Heaven. We ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffle, Chilaquiles, OMG Oreo Fudge Waffle, and Chorizo Toast, and each dish was excellent. The Fried Chicken and Waffle had a tom yum seasoning that added a nice kick, while the crispy basil provided great texture. The Chilaquiles were just as impressive, with perfectly crispy chips. The Chorizo Toast was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. To end on a sweet note, the OMG Oreo Fudge Waffle was the perfect treat--the crunch from the Oreos added a great texture to the waffle and cream. Desperate for some brunch, we found that Grub Hub delivered this place and were all in when we saw Nutella on the menu. We ordered breakfast tacos, crispy french toast, now this is love waffle, bacon (crispy), breakfast potatoes. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs but we wanted to taste a little of everything. The food was DELISH, even with a delivery that made it not so hot but we did not care. The restaurant packaged our items up with napkins/utensils (thank you!) without us remembering to ask. I recently visited this restaurant with my girlfriend and found the food to be just okay, not particularly special compared to other brunch options. However, I was disappointed to see a 3% fee added to the receipt, labeled as "healthcare love," and the calculated tip was based on the after-tax amount. This means that if you select a 18% tip on the device, you are actually paying a 22-23% tip in total. Our server did not mention this fee to us, and I believe that they knew that customers would not pay an 18% tip if they were aware of the additional 3% charge. We came here Saturday morning around 9am it was already pretty full but got a nice seat by the window. We ordered the Halo tea which is pretty tasty if you request honey to go with it. We also order the Benedict Florentine eggs which were cooked to perfection, I think the sauce could use a bit more flavor but overall they were pretty good. This place is definitely a pretty good food hang out. Just be aware that the street parking can be a bit tough. Eclectic, fun and relaxed. Love love love! This was our first time here and we throughly enjoyed everything. First and foremost, they took all proper precautions related to Covid and all the staff was double masked for their safety and ours! The crispy French toast was Amazing alongside with all the other food we got, our eyes were definitely more hungrier than we were in this case. I went to this café and must say that it was an excellent experience. The owners were quite pleasant and generously offered us samples of their meals and coffee drinks. The waffles were thick and fluffy, and the breakfast sandwich featured a wonderfully cooked egg. The vibe was fantastic, and I believe it will be an excellent space as they become more established and work out the challenges. The atmosphere was bright and clean, ideal for brunch or lunch. Wanted to know what the hype was about and I have to say it was a nice, the food was great, and everyone is super friendly and welcoming (will def be coming back). The only reason I gave it 4 stars out of 5 was because it's a prettyyyy small location (only street parking avail) so if it's full inside you have to wait outside by the bus stop, which isn't ideal, especially if it's a cold day, but it's understandable and didn't take away from the nice experience. Everything about this place was great-- the set up, the food, the coffee, and most importantly, the people who run it. They are true gems, and you can't get this sort of personal service in a chain shop.
