I took my 2021 Subaru to AEW in December of 2023 to have the windshield washer hose replaced. The…read morewindshield washer fluid was leaking out of the car. They determined that a rodent had eaten part of the hose! So they replaced the hose to the front washer and told me they didn't know where to route the hose to the back window washer. Kurt said it was working fine on the front window now, and I told him the back window could wait. When I got home, I popped the hood and noticed there was no washer fluid in the reservoir, so I poured the gallon of new fluid in. I went into the house to tell my wife I was home, and then came back out about 10 minutes later to discover almost all the new fluid was running out into my garage and down the driveway. I called Kurt and he said he couldn't understand how that was happening, but he would "get back with me" to arrange for an inspection. Move ahead 6 MONTHS LATER, still no call back from A&E. I try to email them through the web site they list on Yelp, and it says the web site no longer exists! I try to email him, and the email bounces back. So I place a request for service here on YELP again, and 3 or 4 other places answer, but not A&E. So my only thought is that they sold the place and it's under new management? I don't know, but they did NOT fix the problem, they never contacted me again as promised, and the did not respond to the request sent to them through YELP. I ended up fixing the problem myself for $8.00. The second line, that he did not fix and that he told me "would not matter if I don't want to use the rear window washer" had a big hole it as well. When I filled up the reservoir, the weight of the fluid in the full tank caused the water to start syphoning out through that hole in the tube - once it was low enough (i.e. almost empty), it would stop and there would be enough fluid left to wash the front windows several times. They were all very friendly the first time I visited and I thought we had a good working relationship, but it turns out they didn't want to fool with the car although they really did NOT fix my problem and I was never able to contact them again. I don't know what their problem is, but I cannot recommend them as a reliable automobile service.

When we took our vehicle back the solution offered was to put a new ac compressor in which would be another 2+K$$$ I feel we were "taken to the cleaners". I'm so disappointed. If you read the above, that's not impressive and sounds like normal things, and I won't blame you, but the thing is I came to Dave's Automotive service because my mechanics diagnosed the problem to be at the compressor and he told me it would cost almost $800 to do the job, and fortunately for me (read: my wallet), my mechanics does not have the tool to replace the compressor on my car and he called Dave's automotive to help me ... Rodney, from Dave's Automotive Service diagnosed the problem to the loose connection somewhere in the A/C system !!! Last but not least, Melissa, the front office lady was extremely friendly and helpful .. See, my A/C problem is intermittent, some time works and some time does not ... Melissa is very patience dealing with me since many time I called to schedule but when I tried to drive to their place, the A/C started working :-( :-( :-( Melissa was very understanding and agree for me to drive to their place when the problem showed up and she will put priority for his technician to look at my car ... She also think ahead of time to not potentially wasting my team when I called her around 2PM saying that I'll drive to their place, and she advised me to come the next morning since she said if they found something wrong with my car, they have to go get the parts (I have sports car) and probably can't make it on the same day. I leave way south from where they are so by the time I get there, it would be probably around 3:30PM and they normally close at 5PM ... Very thoughtful of her .... Hi... I wanted to provide some feedback on First Choice Automotive after my service, and it's not…read moregreat. There are several issues with the $3500 in service work preformed. 1. Serpentine belt makes a scream at start up, which most likely means the pulley alignment is of, or not tight enough. (This is a theme) 2. I opened the hood to look at the belt noise this morning after driving from your shop back to Lago Vista and saw that the battery clamp wasn't put back on after the battery swap and was about to fall into the engine bay which would've caused major damage. 3. This led me to start looking into the rest of the work, which I found was either extremely rushed or done incompetently. Nuts left off, or finger tight, brackets not put back in place. The battery terminals for example had the plastic covers ripped off. Those are meant to keep corrosion from building up quickly and were in perfect condition when I brought the truck in. I'm praying that whoever did this work did manage to at least get the fluids changed and up to levels, but looking at the rest I'm not confident in that at all! 4. The simplest of things were missed. My clock wasn't re-set after battery change, my service light wasn't re-set. The foot mats the mechanics used were dirty and still in the truck. There was grease on my steering wheel. These are basics of mechanical customer service and completely overlooked. I'm going to get ahold of the owner today as well, because I really feel like I got taken in this deal. I paid over 3k and feel like my drunk uncle would've done better. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop and get a major mechanical failure in one of the systems the tech worked on... Very disappointing in every sense of the word. Avoid this place at all costs. They cannot be trusted with your vehicle.

Do you have any idea how many more exciting ways I can spend $1,600? A lot!!! My plan was to live with it and just add oil every few weeks. It worked fine for me. Hubby got cranky about the oil-stained driveway. Men... Fine, I called and spoke with super charming Rob. I dropped my car off, slid the key in to the night drop slip, grabbed take-out from Blue Corn Harvest and had a fantastic night. The next day super helpful Tim called and was so patient and so thorough in trying to explain what he found. Since my husband is a former Toyota service guy I asked if he would mind calling him as there is zero chance I would understand. He laughed and called the hubby. A few hours later, I got a happy message that my car was done, and it was less than $700. LESS THAN HALF THE COST quoted to me from the dealer.
