Horrible experience, they ripped me off for parts my car didn't need, and had to pay them $985+. My car is still not working. This is my real experience with this "mechanic". If you're someone that doesn't know about cars and you're looking for someone you can trust, I'd think twice if you'd wanna risk it with this guy. The day they showed up to change my breaks the two gentlemen had some females with them and they started screaming and fighting outside on my driveway. I went to get my breaks replaced today with another mechanic and he told me the last person left very poor quality work and I was missing nuts on my front tire which is a huge road hazard. I set appointment with Mel on Wednesday to check out my car. Mel didn't have the common courtesy to call let me know he was not coming. I finally called around 1 and ask what happened said he was still working on another car but didn't text or call me. He then said he would come later that evening didn't show up either called and ask if he could come Friday at 8am. HERE WE GO, not here at 8 then finally text now he will be here shortly. I found Mel on Yelp, and he responded very quickly. His prices are fair, and scheduling was easy. My husband had replaced my sister's brake pads, but one of the tires made noise when it spun. He thought it might be the wheel bearings but didn't have time to fix it, so we scheduled Mel to take a look. Mel came out promptly, charged a small and affordable fee to diagnose the issue, and confirmed it was the wheel bearings. Although I wasn't able to use his services that day, he provided a fair price for the repair, told me exactly which parts were needed, and even recommended a website to order them from. He did some work for me, I thought it was a good job, but then again, I'm not mechanic. Thing is, after he did work, the job I paid for, kept breaking down. Left me stranded twice. This last time, was almost 2 weeks ago, he told me he would repair it again. But apparently he had an emergency, and I understand that life happens. But we were heading into the second week of no car, and all I asked was if he was going to be able to do the work and he got all passive aggressive and said I was "rushing" him. WTH? I am not from the Austin area, I was visiting. And my car just died on me. I had a wrecker move me to where I was staying. Not knowing anyone, and looking for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic, is challenging. I reached out to Mel, he showed up in a timely manner. He tried to diagnose the issue with my vehicle not wanting to start up. We went from maybe the alternator, maybe the starter, maybe a relay to maybe the fuel pump. Anyway, I leaned towards the fuel pump. I know my vehicle and from the get go I thought that's what it was. He says okay, I will drop the tank and see what's goin on. He spent all evening, removing the pump. Once I got the new one, he couldn't get it to lock into place. Complaining that he needed someone else to hold it, I offered my help, my son as well. But to him it wasn't enough. He Complained about the time spent on it and finally gave up, he said that he would be back the following day, with someone who knew how to hold the pump down. So he removed the jack and everything, and I strapped my tank to my trunk. Next day never showed, and this is after he responds to a text saying he's waiting on his friend. We'll at 3 something in the evening, im desperate and told him to not worry about coming, I started looking for someone else. He text back, saying I was about to text you at 4 to let you know I cant make it out. That's very unprofessional, you don't start a job and leave it half way. Mel was very responsive when our car wouldn't start and we were away from home. He came to us and communicated well to let us know his arrival time land plan to get a starter. Unfortunately the next day our car wouldn't start again and Mel had prior appointments. We were not able to get ahold of him for two days. However he discovered bad battery terminals and fixed that problem. Mel's pricing is very reasonable and because he is a pleasant hard working young man he is in high demand which caused our delays. He will need to manage his demand with better scheduling and communication. We will use Mel again. read more

After 12 days of scheduling time and time again, my appointment was pushed back and it was always an excuse to why I couldn't be serviced. I tried my best to work within this person's schedule, I was denied service several times. During these 12 days I was also promised that the assistant technician would be available to service me that was also a lie as I was never seen by this said technician. Time and time again there were excuses, time and time again I tried to work with this person and time and time again I was let down. I brought this man several clients several business opportunities. I was let down again and again I had no choice but to seek other help. Unprofessionalism at its core. If you're unable to service someone just man up and say you're unable instead of throwing them for a loop promising them they will receive service repeatedly. I understand that life happens, but you need to separate professionalism from your personal life and with fix-it Mel he was unable to do so.
