I was in and out today (12/23/25), getting my vehicle's tabs renewed. Took less than 5 minutes, actually. There were several people sitting down and waiting inside already, but none of them were there for a renewal. It was probably the quickest process at the Licensing Agency that I have ever experienced! I've been here 3 times to get new plates and tabs... There are 5 windows and well,,,, not a fast process! Some were counting money 3:00PM, Others were doing computer stuff, while those of us in line were feeling invisible! No I didn't get my plates and tabs, they closed with 4 of us still in line! Will search out a different location to achieve my goal plates and tabs! Go somewhere else, this is not the place to go in my experience. Not sure if I've been lucky or if it's par for this location, but the past few times I've gone in for vehicle titling was quick and painless as I was in and out within 10-15 minutes. The staff here are friendly, helpful, and some even cracked jokes and smiled. The office is quite small with limited seating, but even with their "take a number" system, I haven't had to sit very long. Their parking lot is quite small with narrow spaces so I can see this being a problem during peak times. Also, their online tab mailing service seemed faster than the (old) Kent location I usually order from. I'll keep using this location until my luck runs out I guess. read more

I wish it was possible to give this place no stars at all. I get COVID precautions and everything- but this effing place had 30-40 people standing IN THE POURING RAIN to get what they needed. There is no covering at all provided. Nothing. You wanna know what's worse than going to the DOL? Going to the DOL in Auburn. Wanna know what's even worse than all of that? Standing in the fucking rain at the DOL in Auburn after work. I'll never come back. And I'm gonna tell my friends just how awful you people are. read more

OMG....so freaking slow. Keep your calendar clear and plan in being a while cause of the office is tiny. There's only 5 windows total and usually only 3 are open and one of those is for internet renewals. Do yourself a favor and don't procrastinate on your tabs. I stopped in here today to renew the tabs on our vehicle and it went as I expected. Not a great experience, not average, but a bit below. I've been to this location many times over the years and I don't think I've ever been greeted with a smile, just a "next". But that's what I expected with a state run "business". Employees of this location seem like they're just wanting to get through the day and are irritated by the sight of you. They also charge you extra to use a debit card which is lame. I come here at least once every year to renew my tab for the last four years. I was here this morning to renew my tab once again. I had expected some wait but this morning to my surprise, I was the only customer in the room and they were fully staffed. As far as service, they have been pretty good to me so I can't complain to this day. They do accept credit card (Discover and MasterCard). I could be wrong, but I don't think they accept Visa. Their new transaction fee for using credit card has gone up to $3.00. If you are worried about having to wait for tab renewal, I would suggest you renew it online and come pick it up here. Usually there is a dedicated window for pick ups so you won't need to stand in line. read more

I don't understand the comments about the rude staff here. I didn't experience that at all even though I got there 1 minute before they closed and I was the customer from hell. They were able to find my husband's information and 15 minutes later I got my tabs. The one star is only for the fact that online renewal has always been super easy and convenient. Staff is rude. I get that customer service sucks but, sheesh. Don't come here if easily offended. I just moved to auburn but, I might go back to Kent just for the helpfulness. read more

Fast and friendly service. Got done what I needed to with the help of the clerk. Plan on about 10-15 minutes per person in front of you and you won't make yourself mad! Same timeframes as any other licensing facility. read more

Was dreading to go into get replacement plates for my car (that were stolen!) Happen to stumble in at this location expecting to wait at least an hour. I was surprised that I was in and out in literally 5 mins. I went early though (10am) and the lady was super sweet and helpful! Thanks for making this experience super easy and quick! read more

I cannot say enough about how happy I am to have found this place. We need to do a title transfer which necessitated several trips between the agency and the person from whom we bought the car (due to our not being prepared; never the agency's fault). Each time we dealt with Sylvia, who was 110% professional, patient, and helpful. She did some things for us that were above and beyond what we would have expected. Though we only dealt with her, I observed that the other employees were just as helpful and kind. I live near the Kent agency, but will travel to Auburn from now on. This place is a gem. read more

Plan on being here for a while. I've been here twice and both times they have had 4 windows open; however, two of the windows deal with internet renewals only. So even if your number is up, they will take whatever internet renewal is in front of you. While I was here the first time, they took over 10 people in front of me while I just stood there waiting for a window to call my number even though my number was showing on the screen. It was awful! However, the lady who helped me both times I've been here is super helpful and really nice, so that's why I gave 3 stars instead of 1. Tip for out-of-staters: if you are coming from out of state and are trying to get WA plates, be sure to go to the dmv and get a WA license first BEFORE you even bother going to a licensing agency. read more

Small little room and not-so-friendly staff and a $2 charge to use your debit card makes this place only worth 3 stars. I was able to get what I needed and was in and out in a few minutes so it's not the worst Washington Licensing Agency out there. I did the online registration with pickup at the office because I have two small kids and didn't want to have to wait long in the office. I waited behind a man who was at the internet pickup line. It took almost 30 minutes for the woman behind the counter to ask if I was internet pickup. Obviously the man she was serving was not an internet pickup because they were trying to figure his things out. The people who had pulled numbers were getting called before me. What should've take. About 5 minutes took way longer. Such a dissappointment. And the staff was not friendly at all. read more

I had a bad experience trying to get my out of state tags transferred with another company so i called Auburn Licensing since its close to my work. They contacted my finance company for me to help and get a copy of my title. My finance company was a pain and unhelpful but the people who work here really went out their way to help me out. Once i went in i was out in 20 minutes with my temp registration and everything taken care of. These people are great! I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. read more
