Had some alarming sounds coming out from under my truck- one when I turned my wheel tight a loud popping sound and two my all terrain tires sounded like swampers. I took my truck into Auburn Service Center and within 30 mins (only a $60 diag fee), John tightened up my cross member bar that was causing the popping sound and found that my wheel bearing had gone bad. The total cost for the part and labor was going to be $600 and with a recent purchase of property it just wasn't something I could comfortably do. He said that bc I am mechanically handy I could easily do the work myself and save a couple hundred on labor. He found me the part at Napa. That was so honest and helpful. I am astonished by how great the people at Auburn Service Center are, so kind and trustworthy. I highly recommend them, several friends and family of mine use them and now I get it- customer service like it used to be. read more

Take my word for it, Rich is as honest as they come. I am not a mechanic but in almost all cases have done my own repairs and upgrades for over 40 years. My recent situation was a 'simple' repair and upgrade requiring a lift, and a 4 wheel alignment. So I found Auburn Service Center by referral from my smog guy (Thomas at California Smog). Took my car in for inspection and an estimate ... shocker ... a mechanic 'building up' the repair costs? Rich tells me there are also some 'other' things needing replacement (a bent rear trailing arm and a front sway link). Rich SHOWED me his concerns and sure enough it was just as he said. Final cost ($398.15) was still below the $450 - $600 I was expecting to pay and it included the additional work. Bottom line is, I have no reservation using Auburn Service Center for all my future repairs, possibly including some I would typically do myself. Oh, and my car now drives straight as an arrow with hands off the wheel, so it was a good alignment. read more

Ive lived in auburn for my entire life and havent heard of this place until a week ago. It was recommended to me by my fiancé's grandfather who has been going there pretty much his entire life. I showed up WITHOUT an appointment after noticing my A/C and power steering belts falling apart. They immediately got me in and i was out within the hour. And this is including the time for the delivery service to show up with my belts. The price was nothing short of reasonable. The lady at the front, Emalee, was nothing short of kind and helpful. She was happy to keep me in the loop and didnt hesitate to go talk to the technicians. I showed up again this morning WITHOUT an appointment after noticing what looked like a rear differential leak. They informed me that they couldnt get me in today but would be happy to put my car up on the rack to make sure it wasnt dangerous to drive. Rich took me out into the shop and showed me exactly was going on. If it isnt clear at this point, this shop is amazing. They give out an honest vibe unlike most shops where you feel like they are screwing you. I will be coming back here no doubt. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews but I would not trust taking my vehicle to these guys again. They were prompt getting my vehicle in and seemed like nice people but they gave me a wrong diagnosis resulting in excessive money spent that I didn't have. They told me that 3 of my rims were bent so I later purchased a set of rims and brought them to Soza's tires to be mounted, Soza's told me the rims were all fine besides a small pothole ding in one that they easily beat out. I followed up with another mechanic and they were easily able to locate my vehicles problem, finding that one of the bearings was gone. read more
